Panera Bread

Great. Loved it. First, great restaurant environment. Second, great food. I had a tomato bread veggie sandwich better known as a Mediterranean and a Greek salad. My wife had the Cuban with Broccoli Cheddar soup. A good serving that was filling. Their bread looks fabulous and their desert even better. It just seems so much better than other choices.

Hana Izumi Japanese Kaiseki Food
293 El Camino Real, Millbrae, CA 94030, United States
This is a hidden gem! Owners Koji and Luna have opened a spectacular kaiseki restaurant worthy of the Bay Area dining scene. Everything from the menu to presentation of food, the level of service to the dish-ware, have been planned with great thought and attention. Chef Koji elevates simple food to new heights coming from a Michelin star-like kaiseki restaurant back in Japan. Homemade delicate tofu with a uni sauce base. Or a bite of raw fish with paper thin tiny cucumbers seasoned in a light yuzu soy sauce. Filet mignon slices surrounded by a delicate lake of onion butter. And some of the best sashimi this side is the Pacific Ocean. They even have kid friendly kaiseki meals with my picky kids saying it was the best food they ever had - simple yet delicious soba noodles, miso soup, rice with marinated filet mignon slices, plain chawanmushi, and shrimp tempura. And speaking of shrimp, I can never go back to eating shrimp tempura at any other restaurant. Giant shrimp perfectly coated with a mouth pleasing crunch, and without the hint of grease. Grab a seat now before word gets out and this place becomes one of those hard to get reservations!
MQ Healthy Food
420 El Camino Real, Millbrae, CA 94030, United States
Lance and Mindy run a great restaurant with tasty, healthy reasonably priced food that we always enjoy! We live downtown, and MQ healthy is a very welcome addition to Millbrae dining.I like to try different things from the menu, and the standouts are the crispy chicken, which is good both katsu-style or in a chicken sandwich. I also liked the grilled chicken with lemon and caper sauce. Always juicy and cooked right. The pork chop sandwich is also a great option, as well as the slow cooked Asian pork ribs that were added recently.I liked the fish and chips and the fish tacos. I dont know if its cod or another white fish but its well cooked and not over-done. I havent tried the Basa they started serving on weekends yet but I bet its just as good! The appetizers like the coconut shrimp and calamari are quite good too if you like a little fried stuff, and the veggie spring rolls are hearty with a starchy filling which Im guessing might be taro(?) and some nice thick dipping sauce that falls on the sweeter side, rather than salty.Split pea soup has been a nice addition, and Im looking forward to trying the chicken tortilla soup soon. Most plates are served with a side of cabbage slaw/salad with a nice light (non-mayo) sesame dressing I believe. It does have a little shredded beet, but it hasnt been a problem for me who doesnt usually like beets too much. Their forbidden rice is also cooked perfectly and compliments the dishes that it comes with. The french fries are one of my favorites and are light and crispy on the outside.Their desserts are top notch with the often sold out Oreo cheesecake being a favorite. But weve also really enjoyed their tarts and the cookies they recently started serving, as well. Every once in a while we do get the steamed buns which are smaller than some places but have quite tasty filling. We typically order to-go since were so close to them, but their dining space is awesome! The outdoor seating and fire pit is a great addition for the nice weather coming soon (hopefully). You can tell they put a lot of thought into their space and how comfortable their dine-in customers will feel. They take pride in their food and service and I would definitely recommend this family-run business to locals and visitors. This is what good service looks like!If you cant tell yet, we get food from here weekly if not a couple times a week! Definitely worth a try if youre in the neighborhood or driving through town. Theyve done wonders to the inside and have some really comfy dining outside now as it warms up for the summer. Do yourself a favor and stop by soon!
Leonardos Deli Cafe
540 Broadway, Millbrae, CA 94030, United States
Got lunch here at the tail end of their lunch rush this past Friday. I saw that they were busy but I had gotten my order for a Raider sandwich before another rush of customers. Unfortunately, the folks behind the counter made at least four other customers' sandwiches before mine, so I was stuck waiting for a bit. I asked for ETA on my sandwich and was met by rudeness and excuses that they were busy, and the owner telling his employees to make my sandwich because I was “unhappy”. Yes, I was getting hangry and needed my food but didn't need the condescension. Owner's son was apologetic enough but didn't make up for the rudeness of the owner. I was trying to support a local business but not with this attitude. A simple “sorry, your food's coming right up” would've been good. Sandwich wasn't bad but I don't think I will be returning.
Fiddlers Green
333 El Camino Real, Millbrae, CA 94030, United States
They serve the worst tortilla soup that I ever taste. The chicken was totally purple, the flavor was only to chicken stock. If they didnt know how to prepare a dish or is not their specialty they should remove it from the menu. Is really annoying to try new dishes on a restaurant where they fail miserably. Even do the salmon salad was good,

O Sole Mio
352 Broadway, Millbrae, CA 94030, United States
Excellent food and service for a decent price.Good: food, service, portionsBad: a little slow, only standard veg Italian optionsService:Initial drop off of water/bread was inattentive, both for us and for a table next to us. Simply dropped off the items and walked away. The lady at the table next to us wanted to ask a question, but the man dropping off the water just turned his back and walked away. One of the servers had no idea which table was which, and our waitress was shaking her head in amusement as he wandered from table to table trying to deliver a salad to its owner. Our waitress, however, was quite good. Friendly, attentive, and perhaps extra generous with the wine; 1/2 litre ordered, supposedly 3 glasses worth in it... easily 4+ glasses out of it, though. Didnt catch her name, otherwise Id toss it up here so people know who to look for.Food:My mom ordered prawns with spaghetti and was generally pleased, except for wanted more/bigger prawns. My dad ordered lasagna and, while he was originally wondering why they would include ham inside it, he was also generally pleased. His only complaint was that there was too much cheese; I think specifically too much ricotta inside. I ordered linguini alla marinara and thought it was excellent. Very simple, very tasty. The house pinot grigio was fairly crisp and delightful as well.My only complaint, and this is a general one with Italian restaurants, is the number of available vegetarian options. This restaurant was a tad worse because there werent any veg ravioli options; most restaurants Ive been to have at least one. Id really like to see a novel vegetarian Italian option one of these days.Atmosphere:Very simple, nice environment; could work for a quiet, romantic night out. Nothing special, but no overly negative characteristics either.
Ipoh Garden Malaysian Cuisine
100 El Camino Real, Millbrae, CA 94030, United States
Ipoh Garden is right down the street from Millbraes Caltrain/BART station. A great option if you dont want to deal with the car and people traffic for the restaurants across the street. If youre thinking of getting Roti Canai here, DOUBLE your order. Its that good.We tried:- Roti Canai: this was so friggin fragrant. It was so flaky, crispy, and chewy. The curry sauce it came with was just the right flavors, too. It was as if someone made my favorite croissant into a flat bread. 5/5 the only bad thing about it is that it disappeared too fast.- Bak kut teh: This had a strong herbal flavor in the soup that I loved. I didnt expect there to be pork intestines, but there they were, along with some pork knuckles. There were some other pork slices that were a bit dry, but I mainly order this for the soup. This doesnt come with rice. 4/5- Hainan chicken rice: Amazing! I like their take on the ginger sauce, almost tasted like the ginger was toasted/fried a bit first! The chicken isnt boneless, but thats pretty typical. 4.5/5- Malaysian white coffee: I got it to try it and it was a big cup, great for sharing! I liked that the flavor of the condensed milk came through without being cloyingly sweet. The coffee flavor was mild. 5/5Looking forward to trying more dishes next time!Im not really sure where parking is supposed to be for this restaurant; they do not have their own lot. There seems to be 3-4 street spots right alongside the restaurant, but that looked about it. Def ride public transit here if you can.
Falafio Mediterranean Cuisine
360 Adrian Rd, Millbrae, CA 94030, United States
My friend Adam said there were some good Mediterranean restaurants nearby when I told him about my hotel I was staying at. My friend Adam rarely disappoints but in this case he did. Why? Because he was wrong. Its not good. Good isnt even an understatement. It blew me away. This place is -hazardous-to-my-health-outstanding. It makes me want to move to Milbrae. Holy cow (and I didnt even eat it) never experienced so unfamiliar yet delicious food before. I acrually told the woman working there that, yes, while we are in November, this was hands down the best meal of 2023 for me. The owner is from Gaza, started cooking when he was seven and it shows. Im not sure what kind of black magic he uses In his recipes but Im all for it. Portions are generous, good for three or more even, yet I was able to clean up the whole dish myself. I had the veggie platter and it came with about eight falafalls (decent size) two dolmas, amazing salad dressing, a very generous portion or baba ganoush and some Hummus with warm thick pita. Even hot sauce. Rice was decadent and perfectly cooked. Hot. I came back the the next day tried the Schwarma...absolute perfection. Well done Falafio!
Bashamichi Sushi(expect to reopen 1-1-24)
1390 El Camino Real, Millbrae, CA 94030, United States
Not gonna lie. The idea of dining in a sushi restaurant literally located underneath the room floors of La Quinta inns sounds a little shady, but the best places Ive eaten at are exactly located in a humble setting. I was heading to the airport and wanted dinner before my flight. This location was only 10 minutes away from the terminals so it was very convenient, and for some reason my gut was telling me to go here and I am so glad I did!My beau and I started off our meal with a bowl of miso soup, and Hamachi blossom which is an appetizer Crudo. There is a ponzo sauce on top of it with a slight creme. Then we have our entourage of nigiri. I have noticed with this place that their sushi pieces are served dressed up. There is additional toppings on some, sauces on some, or the scallops are seared with a blowtorch, and the fattier fish has wasabi in it to cut the fattiness. I appreciate the attention to detail, and it reminds me of the time Ive had omakase. How each piece is different, has a story to speak for themselves. Also, last thing to note, free parking! Just on the left of the hotel check in entrance and you can turn into the car garage that leads down.Gochisosama! :)
