Mandarin Noodle House
701 W Garvey Ave, Monterey Park, CA 91754, United States
There are so many chinese restaurants in Monterey park. Do yourself a favor and go somewhere else. The kung Pow chicken was a soupy mess with no flavor. The chicken was boiled, not breaded and fried like the picture. The shredded pork soup had no pork in it and the handmade noodles were over cooked and clouded the broth when placed in the soup. Very disappointing. Also, everything was turned on it’s side when my girlfriend picked up the food. The mess they called kung psi spilled in the bag.
Daikokuya Monterey Park
111 N Atlantic Blvd UNIT 241, Monterey Park, CA 91754, United States
I was introduced to ramen at Daikokuya through my awesome boyfriend . I instantly fell in love with the intense, spicy, and flavorful broth and delicious noodles. Daikokuya is my go to place when I first introduced family and friends to ramen. Today, I had my usual Spicy Miso Ramen. Its a pork broth base and I dont add bamboo to my soup, but Im told its quite delicious with it too. I added a small cabbage salad with what can taste like a sweet, but good thousand island. If you are a lighter eater and feel the large portion is too much soup for you, I recommend getting the half portion. They only serve it at the restaurant; and not to go. The staff are attentive, and take care of you right away. The Monterey Park location is small, but cozy. They have enough room for around 15 people, and it can get quite crowded after 7-8pm. But in all, Daikokuya is a great spot.
Boiling Point
153 W Garvey Ave, Monterey Park, CA 91755, United States
Small restaurant, needs to be better ventilated. Good food, interesting type of spicy for hot pot, asked for mild, the soup tasted very spicy even for mild, for the average person who wants mild, would recommend to just ask for non spicy and add small amount of chili sauce / oil. Average service, when requesting to change to a bigger table even before food was served, request was denied. When it is busy, restaurant feels very compacted, wondering if it has gone beyond maximum capacity.

Kokoro Japanese Restaurant

Im very busy these two days. Im preparing for the exam, so I spent a total of 105 dollars to order takeout, I only received six sushi and six fish fillets, and two complimentary soups, and there was nothing else. I ate them twice in the restaurant, which was completely different, but I didnt have time to deal with this matter. I can only admit that I was planted this time, but I believe that the merchant sent them out by mistake. The merchant gave me half the amount and still owed me half. It was really sad, and the good mood for two days was gone. The first picture is the dining, and the second picture is the experience, which is so bad that I doubt my life.
Xiang Cuisine
141 N Atlantic Blvd Ste200, Monterey Park, CA 91754, United States
Newly opened Chinese restaurant specializing in Hunan cuisine. Tends to be spicy with chili peppers. Food and service is fair and could use improvement. Interior is confusing combining sports bar tv, night club ceiling lights and blacked out windows. 2 spot lighted alcoves were empty. On all levels (food, service, ambience), it seemed unfinished.Xiang Cuisine is not visible from North Atlantic Blvd. The entrance is located in the back of Mar Center and on the upper level. Free parking, but many spaces are small.I went with friends who had heard about the 15% off discount. For a group of 8, we paid $14 each, which was really cheap, but if I were to go back paying full price, I would expect better food and service.
HiroNori Craft Ramen
111 N Rural Dr, Monterey Park, CA 91755, United States
While running errands on a rainy afternoon in Los Angeles with my 80 year old mom who is currently recovering from chemo, we decided to stop and get ramen at a new place not far from her home. The restaurant is tucked off the main road - Garvey Ave - on a side street - Rural Dr. I think if they could put an eye catching A frame by the mechanic's shop on the corner of Garvey and Rural, more people would be aware there's a ramen place behind the main street. You order from the counter and pay first before you go select a table. It was our first time and the gentleman behind the counter Wilson was kind and patient and explained the limited menu with a tablet he used to show photos of the menu items which was very helpful for my mom. They do not currently accept cash, Apple Pay or Google Pay and I'm not sure if that will change. Mom got the shoyu ramen and I got the tonkotsu ramen. When your order is ready, they call your name and you need to go grab your tray(s) of food to bring to your table. I was ready to grab one tray at a time to bring to the table but Wilson insisted on helping which was very sweet of him. The shoyu ramen and the tonkotsu ramen did not disappoint. For $15 a bowl, the pieces of pork belly and sous vide pork loin were plentiful, the broth flavorful but not too salty (important to an 80 year old's satisfaction), the noodles were cooked to al dente and the egg had a satisfying custardly jammy yolk. Both broths were accented with spinach, bean sprouts, green onions and bamboo shoots. The tonkotsu also comes with a piece of seaweed. The water and tea are complimentary on the counter in beverage dispensers. I splurged and got the non-alcoholic yuzu piña colada and it was cool and refreshing reminding me of summer on a rainy autumn day. They make their own complimentary Sriracha and I preferred it to the popular Huy Fong Sriracha. All in all, very reasonably priced, great service and quick. I hope the word gets out so it can become a staple in mom's neighborhood.
Kaiba Japanese Restaurant - Monterey Park
816 S Atlantic Blvd, Monterey Park, CA 91754, United States
Wife and I searched for sushi on Google maps...and we were given this location and another location further north on Atlantic. The other location was closed(their loss). We arrived at 12:50 PM. We were greeted as soon as we walked in through the back (parking is available behind the restaurant). The server walked us to the front and asked if we were going to eat in or take out. We chose take out since the restaurant was busy. The lunch special was in full effect. Wife decided to go with the beef teriyaki with a California roll and I went with the spicy ramen noodle soup and three piece gyoza. #NoRegretsThe beef was cooked magnificently! The rice was perfectly white. Wife enjoyed her meal. The soup was kept separate from the noodles, pieces of pork, lettuce, half an egg, and other veggies. The gyoza was enjoyed as well. Will I return? Yes please! This time to eat in and enjoy the environment in an authentic Japanese restaurant!Thank you. God bless you.

First time to Rosemead restaurant and is better than the Monterey park one because the beef soup is less salty. But only been here once, so not sure about the consistency of the soup. Been to Monterey park restaurant many times. There are times when the soup is a little on the salty side but not too bad. Got great service, less line and when ask for extra noodle, you really see the difference.
The Clam House
133 W Garvey Ave Ste C, Monterey Park, CA 91754, United States
My friends and I decided to head to The Clam House for a late lunch on a Saturday afternoon, arriving at around 2 PM. The timing was spot on as we didnt have to wait for a table. The restaurant was comfortably quiet, allowing the servers to efficiently attend to each tables needs. The individual attention was a great touch, and we could see the staff effortlessly multitasking as they grilled a variety of seafood at different tables.Parking worries are a common concern, but not at The Clam House. Theres ample parking space available at the back, relieving us of any concerns about finding a spot for our vehicles. The menu is refreshingly straightforward, offering four options labeled A, B, C, and D. Depending on the party size, we opted for the grand Combo D at $174.99. This extravagant feast included an array of mouthwatering dishes: Sashimi salad, pancakes, steamed eggs, mayonnaise corn, manila clams, cherry stone clam, mussels, live abalone, squid, scallops soup, shrimp, scallops, marinated scallops, oysters, baby octopus, hogfish, live octopus, kalguksu, potatoes, and sweet potatoes. For our group of four ladies and one gentleman, this lunch spread was just right. However, Id recommend considering ordering more if you have a larger party or if youre planning to dine for dinner. The standout stars of our meal were undoubtedly the live octopus, cherry stone clam, live abalone, and oysters. Each bite was a burst of freshness and sweetness that truly showcased the quality of the seafood.
