Panera Bread
1725 Trancas St Suite B, Napa, CA 94558, United States
Worst customer service ever. Yesterday bought my mother and I dinner at the last hour of the restaurants shift. We get home 30 minutes later, to find our order was not as expected. We should have looked at our order before we left the restaurant. They forgot my mothers soup and only gave her half the salad (which the lettuce was wilted and brown) that she ordered. I tried to call them up before they closed, but they did not answer the phone nor could I leave a voicemail because the voice mailbox was full. So today I called them to let them know what happened, the manager at the time said it would be no problem and that we would get a complimentary you pick two meal. I told them that I live half an hour away and do not want to waste my time to return just to pick up a $10 meal. I told them that I would give it to somebody else like a coworker who lives closer to restaurant...they said was fine. When my coworker got to the restaurant to place an order, they denied her order and said that the original purchaser had to be there. The manager at the time, Molly, was a very uncooperative. My coworker called me and said that they were denying her service, so I asked to speak to the manager. Molly did not want to speak to me. They did not want to accept the fact that they made a mistake. This was very bad customer service on her part and terrible for Panera Bread that she represented them as an extension. This resulted in me calling the corporate office of Panera Bread. The corporate office was very apologetic of the situation my coworker went through and stated that the behavior of the manager was must not a good representation of the company.Dont get me wrong, the food was ok, not great. The company maybe a good company, but this location needs some work on their customer service. The one star rating is only for this location, not for the company.I find it to be a waste of my time to give bad reviews because I hate being negative, but the experience for a first time customer at this location really left a bad taste with my coworker, my mother, & I. Be aware.

This place was amazing. The only reason why I didnt give it 5 stars is because it fell short on some minor details. First of all, the view. WOW!! I stayed in the top floor, Robert Louis Stevenson suite. The view was impeccable, overlooking the Staggs leap district. You can see the gorgeous house of the owner of the property propped up on a hill in the distance (who also owns Cliff Lede winery). You also get a great perspective on the sunset from your balcony. The porch is a nice area to relax and it was nice to cozy up next to a wood burning fireplace. The shower was comforting and relaxing as we took in the views of Napa. The warm tiles were easy on our toes as we exited the shower or came through our private entrance. The outdoor shower was fun also, as you can adjust each individual blind to give you as much privacy as you want without completely isolating the Napa views. The first morning we opted for breakfast in our room. We told them the night before and they setup our table during turn down service. The morning of, we called for our coffee and fresh squeezed orange juice. They dropped it off with some delicious Bouchon baked goods. He also gave us a menu, advising us to call when we are ready. We called and ordered our next two courses. I got the fruit and salmon, she got the granola and omelete. The fruit was good, nothing special. Blueberries, pears, orange and a slice of lime. The granola was delicious with fruit and yogurt. The salmon came with two perfectly toasted slices of brioche and arugala, capers and pickled onions along with a dollop of cream cheese and chives. Delicious. The omelete had mushrooms and came with a small salad on the side, which was a nice compliment. That night we paid for the in room dining. We had the option of chicken, beef or fish and everyrhing else was left up to the chef. We could of had more input but had no worries about what the chef might prepare. They set up our table and brought some warm bread with butter. We had an option of drinks but just chose water and apple cider. They brought out an amousboush of bread with sauted mushrooms and cheese. It was only a bite or two but full of flavor. The next course was a cream of cauliflower soup with brioche croutons. Everything was scrumptious and perfect. It got our appetite going and eager for the main course. The soup was the perfect temperature and creamy, full of flavor. The crispy, salty croutons accompanied it perfectly. The main course for her was a filet on top of mushroom risotto. I had a chicken hind quarter on top of Brussel sprouts and roast poatoes. Simply delicolious. The chicken had a crispy skin and was salty but full of herbal flavors. The roasted potatoes were browned to a crisp and the sprouts were caramelized to perfection. The steak was cooked perfectly, juicy and tender. The risotto complimented it with all of its creamy, cheesy goodness. All the mushrooms tied it all together. For dessert we had home mad cashew brittle, ice cream and apple pie. Not too sweet but a nice way to end the meal. All the food was outstanding... even the fresh baked cookies in the lobby (when not burned)My few nit pick negatives about my stay are as follows:-no in room phone worked upon my arrival- DVD player on TV played movies in black and white. Connections were probably messed up- WIFI kept dropping in our room and was slow- mini bar had wine for purchase but no liquor.- burned cookies in the lobbyAll these were very minor annoyances that didnt lead to a perfect score. I dont know, I guess I expect a little more when paying $2000/night
Joellas Deli Food Cart
2485 Stockton St, Napa, CA 94559, United States
If you are thinking about visiting Joellas, stop thinking and just go. Ian and his team (Perla!) have cracked the code when it comes to the crispy chicken sandwich. Wonderful flavors, fresh quality ingredients and nice big portions. The chicken was moist, perfectly seasoned and breaded to crispy perfection. The pickles and the bun are even noteworthy. Now, we must also mention the killer beef/pork chili. First rate, balanced flavor profile with a nice kicky finish. Ritz crackers and sour cream on the side! Still hungry? Theres more...the PBJ bread pudding with a ribbon of banana custard as the counterpoint to the sweetness. So, Im not sure why you are still reading this review when you should be heading over to Joellas write this very minute. Get going and get some good eats!
Contimo Provisions
950 Randolph St, Napa, CA 94559, United States
From the moment we started reading their menu on the window of their space undergoing renovation until the last moment when we left was total perfection.Thomas Kellers restaurants brought us to the area but Bryan and the staff at Contimo stole our hearts. One of their delightful, caring staff came outside to ask if we had an questions about the menu and made some great suggestions.I had some concern over the wording that modifications to their menu would be politely refused as there has never been a time when I enjoyed dijonaise on a breakfast (or any other sandwich, for that matter). This gentleman explained I should give their version a try and should it not be to my liking, no worries, theyd make one just the way I want. With confidence like that, it was game on.So, color me convinced. I now need to rethink some of my culinary skips the past few years. So, we roll inside and encounter, Bryan the owner, behind the counter. He is the kind of owner who develops a cult-like devotion. He is funny, affable, charming, endearing and interested and interesting all in one talented bundle. The kind of owner you want to sit and have a beer or two with and hear his story. All this before the food has arrived, which seemed very fast considering it was made fresh when we ordered.I has the hot ham and cheese with the dijonaise and I should have ordered one to go. Hubs had the sausage breakfast biscuit and 100 miles later he is also regretting not having ordered a second. My niece, who had never had pimento cheese prior and normally isnt a huge fan of ham polished off her ham and cheese biscuit without hesitation. So, run dont walk, to Contimo Provisions. Even though there are a gazillion dining options in the Napa area, this is an easy one for breakfast, lunch or drinks. Their Nola iced coffee was delish, all three of us enjoyed them. Thanks again for a perfect experience. We will be back every time we come thru the area.
Whole Spice
610 1st St #13, Napa, CA 94559, United States
I visited on foot after riding the wine train. There are many spices, but there are so many mixed spices! I wish there was a store like this in Japan! My favorite is zhug spice.Since I dont speak much English, I chose it based on the scent, and it was a great choice. When I looked it up later, I found out that it was a Yemeni spice mix, but its delicious with any meat or vegetables. This is a restaurant I definitely want to visit if I ever go to Napa again.
Galpo Gaucho Brazilian Steakhouse
1990 Trower Ave, Napa, CA 94558, United States
This a nice large restaurant, with luxury setting.Easy parking outsideMost of the customers are taking the $70 unlimited meat experience. The restaurant has a high quality salad bar $32 that also includes soups. There is also a small limited menuWe took the unlimited meat experience. The service was excellent. The meat option pass by very frequently and they are too generous in their servings !However, the quality of meat is not all good. For example, tenderloin was not that tender at all !Ribeye was perfect, Shrimps were excellent, Lamb ribs were good, Striploin was OK, also Chicken wrapped in bacon was OKPork ribs were very taught, Salmon was old, rest of the cuts were not that goodThe salad bar was very good, but I only took some greens and smoked salmon which were both very goodLoved the grilled pineapple so is the roasted bananaThey have good Brazilian beer, really goodI gave them 5 stars because of the excellent service
Genova Delicatessen
1550 Trancas St, Napa, CA 94558, United States
I am gluten free, not by choice, and when I asked if the polenta was gluten free, I was rudely dismissed with We dont have anything gluten free. Well, they have meats, chicken, some salad, etc. When I stated that polenta is usually gf, the man went and asked his co worker and was dismissed as nothing is gf here. I was struck by how arrogant the taller guy was as he asked me if I had a number when I was one of two people standing at the counter. There were no numbers as they were stuck in the machine. He sent me back to the original guy waiting on my sister. There was no friendliness at all as I remember from a few years back. I ordered a couple of slices of roast beef and cheese. I was appalled that the man picked them up with his hands. We should have walked out then and there. He packed it in the bag with the hot soup and lasagna and when I got home, the cheese was melted and stuck to the paper. My mother said the minestrone was not flavorful so was quite disappointed. The arrogance and lack of good customer service is off putting.
Salumeria Ovello
248 W Napa St, Sonoma, CA 95476, United States
Been waiting for Ovello to open for months. After a major remodel with a kitchen and processing area, Fermenting rooms and aging coolers, Ovello's is curing their own salami. Was able to taste the Napa salami, made with red wine. Delicious texture and flavors. Sonoma salami was infused with white wine and fennel. Another winner with lovely balance and twang from being fermented. Wild boar, duck prosciutto, Italian prosciutto and more. The delicious and showstopper porchetta came out of the kitchen, smelling wonderful and begging to be sliced. Different focaccias were available, with different desserts, beverages and imported foods, cheeses and other delicious looking foods.Excited to have this new Salumeria in town!
Foodshed Take Away
3385 Old California Way, Napa, CA 94558, United States
First of all it is owned by the previous owner of UVA, one of the previous better restaurants in Napa and retains its complementary staff, balanced amount of take out food as well as a clean interior with seating available to enjoy their menu. It also has seating outside in the rear parking area, complete with tables beneath the shade of a tree.I had previously had their home made fresh pasta, a treat in itself at home and wanted to check out their menu items.Ordered the pork meat ball sandwich which consisted of their own made bread stuffed with 3 delis Italian meatballs and sauce with arugula on the side. Also tried the minestrone soup which may be the best I have had, thick, flavorful a 10+! If you want to take it home, its sold by plate size, or you can bring in your own container for additional portions. So if your looking for something special with an Italian flair stop by Foodshed!
