Mimis Cafe
71861 CA-111, Rancho Mirage, CA 92270, United States
As we entered, the hostess seemed a little distracted. We asked if it would be possible to be seated outside and we were told that would be fine but to wait for just a minute as the table was setup. In that time two other groups were seated and we had to remind the hostess of our request. After a few more minutes, we were told the table was ready. As we waited for someone to come out to take our drink orders, the wind started to pick up and made it uncomfortable to stay outside so we apologized to the hostess and asked to be seated inside. It took quite a bit of time to order our drinks that we had enough of time to figure out what we all wanted to eat. Not a major thing, but after we received our drinks and appetizer, we had yet to receive our bread basket which we then just asked a different waiter for and we asked him for another set of silverware because we didnt have one for every person. The food was decent but nothing wow. Dont get me wrong, we ate every bite, but it wasnt very special. It took a while to refill our drinks after they were emptied. She never checked in with us to see how things were going. After we finished, we paid, and headed outside. Shortly there after, the waitress came out and asked if there was anything wrong, or was there something she did to offend us with a not-so-nice tone. We all turned and I said not really, it was okay. I She then said well, you didnt leave me a tip. I informed her I left $6 under my cup and she ran back inside and into the kitchen area. I thought that was a little rude but also weird, wondering if someone took her tip so I went back inside and saw her coming back out 20 seconds later with cash in her hand saying that the people who cleared her table left it for her in the back. (no mention of a sorry for any misunderstanding...) she continued out to the parking lot, hopped in her car and took off. Not sure if her name was Liz, Elise or some combination but that was oretty uncool.

Sushi on the Run
40101 Monterey Ave # G2, Rancho Mirage, CA 92270, United States
Ive been going to Sushi on the Run since the first week it opened and have enjoyed everything Ive tried so far. Their specialty sushi rolls are inventive while delicious (The Arnold Palmer and Citrus Fresh are my current favs). Im a fan of Salmon, and I loved that their menu has many different salmon options and combinations. The fish is really fresh, and the presentation of their garnishes are really nice. The owners are friendly and have great suggestions if you are looking to try something new. My father tried the Teriyaki chicken bowl and said that it had the perfect amount of Teriyaki sauce for the serving. It came with some dumplings, and he gobbled those fast saying they were delicious. I also like that there is a variety of beverages to choose from American soda/pop and some Asian drinks, like the delicious Oolong tea. The space is cute with the wood panels and bright lighting and their quick service areas are clean and organized. Im a fan and will keep trying everything until Ive completed the entire menu.

Wallys Desert Turtle
71775 CA-111, Rancho Mirage, CA 92270, United States
This is a very nice restaurant with quite good service. However, I ordered my steak medium rate, leaning to the rare side. It came back well done the first time and medium the second. When queried I said it was better than the first effort, but still not what I ordered. I would have returned it again, but by this time my 5 companions were half way through their meals and I did not want to wait any longer and end up eating alone. My meal was not taken from the bill, I was more than a little disappointed to see. My wife and I paid $500 for our two meals, including wine. That was very expensive for a meal I did not enjoy. Given the server’s response I would not be inclined to return. Our friend had mushroom soup that he took one sip of and did not like. The server did not even seem to notice and did not query him about it. This is poor service in my view. Servers should notice and respond, particularly at a high quality place as this.

Shabu Shabu Zen and Sake Bar
F, 71680 CA-111, Rancho Mirage, CA 92270, United States
This is a wonderful restaurant. The food is very high quality and quite flavourful. I commonly get the seafood assortment and love it. The beef is also incredible. As a tip, the last thing that goes into the pot is your udon. They give you a soup bowl that you will put in the cooked udon and then the broth from your cooking at the end. It is one of the most delicious parts of the meal. Also, the occasionally have beef stroganoff as an appetizer. I know this sounds strange for a Japanese restaurant, but trust me, you need to try it is they have it! The. Most. Delicious. Food. Ever!

OCaines Irish Pub
36101 Bob Hope Dr, Rancho Mirage, CA 92270, United States
This restaurant is unique to the area. It is very cozy and Irish inside. I have had the Shepherds Pie, fish and chips, Potato skins, onion rings, chicken salad and potato soup. Last night I ordered one fish slider which was the perfect amount of food for me. You can order one, two or three sliders depending on your appetite. The restaurant has plenty of parking, it is on the ground level. They share a parking lot with Gelsons Market along with some other businesses. It can be very busy on weekend nights and when they have live music. Lots of beer, whiskey and scotch choices. We keep this restaurant in our regular rotation as we enjoy it every time we come here.

The Edge Steakhouse

Re-opening night at the The Edge Steakhouse at The Ritz-Carlton, Rancho Mirage. Fabulous food and wine, beautiful views, and impeccable service. Every morsel was delicious from the bread and spreads, to the soup and salad, to the pork shank in mole sauce, the Moroccan roast lamb. And a fab winelist.Daniel Rodriguez, the suave restaurant manager, came by our table repeatedly and made sure we were having a stellar experience.

The Steakhouse Rancho Mirage

So my mother and I were visiting the casino for the Ron White show and, well aware that it would be busy, I figured I'd try to call on the way to the casino from La Quinta to see if I couldn't sneak in a last min reservation. I could not, but the v nice operator told me that while the bar was busy it would be first come, first serve and she offered to connect me directly to the restaurant to see if I couldn't talk with them myself. A rather stern and likely stressed out hostess told me, “No, no spots. No room for a reservation but the bar is first come, first served. You can try that.”Soooo, we park, and we walk in, past the hostess openly in front of ant least 4 different staff memberships, and into the bar where we find an empty chair next to two gentleman and then another two empty chairs on the other side of the bar. I point out the two to my mom, again, in front of several staff standing right next to me. The gentleman sitting by the empty chair on its own told us he was leaving and we could have his chair. So my mom sits down and we speak with the gentleman for a minute. After, I went to ask the hostess where the restroom was and she directed me. I go, and when I return, my mom standing outside by the hostess…they had booted her from the bar! I ask what she is doing out there and the staff had told her to leave because there was a waitlist for the bar and it had been building since the restaurant open. Mind you I had just called 15 min. Before and everyone I spoke too, kept encouraging for us to go to the bar. Not one peep about a waitlist and there were 3 empty seats.I explained to the hostess that I had just spoken to someone there and she told me, “No, I had spoken to a resort operator.” I told her again, “Yes I spoke to an operator who directed me straight to the restaurant and I spoke to someone there who told me to go for the bar.” She said, “well you probably spoke to someone at the Palm Desert location.” And AGAIN, I said, “No, the operator specifically asked me which location, Palm Desert or Rancho Mirage?” Then the hostess tried another excuse, “Well, you can't only have one seat; they won't serve you unless you are both seated.” And again, I told her, “well the gentleman sitting at next to the empty chair just told me we could have it.” Finally she stopped trying to give excuses and said, “well I can't do it. I can seat you in an hour.” Mind you, we had mentioned we were seeing the show in less than that time, so she was offering us something she knew we couldn't take.” THEN a gentleman came over and started with, “Well, you probably just spoke to an operator, not the restaurant…” I was done. We left and I just said what terrible service.I've worked in restaurants as a runner, a server, a bartender, a hostess,…and in LA where people can be v rude. If we told someone bad information and they had a seat, I would never embarrass a party, particularly a mother and daughter by making them leave there seats without offering something else. So rude. Hopefully you have a better experience. I'll never forget it. So rude and upsetting.

Willies Modern Fare
69830 CA-111, Rancho Mirage, CA 92270, United States
We went for the Sunday tea service and were overall disappointed. On first arriving the atmosphere seemed overall good, although their air conditioning isnt powerful enough to deal with the extreme summer heat, so we werent as comfortable as wed like. When it came to the service, the staff was friendly but thats about where the positives in that side of things end:-It took almost 20 minutes before we were able to order.-When we got our team about 20 minutes after ordering, one of our partys tea pot water was at best luke warm.-The server didnt stop by to check on us for over 5 minutes after our tea arrived, so we had to flag someone down. This allowed our one party member to ask for a replacement tea and order another drink.-It took another 20 minutes to get both the replacement tea and additional drink, but that was only after flagging down our waiter to ask where they were because we again had no one stopping by to check on us.-Even though the tea service has a set food menu and we had a reservation, we didnt get our food until almost an hour after sitting down.-Despite the issues, we werent comped anything or even offered a reasonable apology/explanation. If they were training folks and/or under staffed we would have understood if theyd mentioned that to us.On top of the issues above, there are a few common tea service things missing from this experience:-Having the first cup of tea poured by the staff.-If the tea isnt fully steeped upon delivery to the table, letting us know how much longer it needs to steep, given each tea is unique.-Similarly, each tea should have its own appropriate temperature of water for steeping.-Each person should have their own serving of each food item on the menu. While this was true of most of the savory items, each dessert item either had to be cut in half or only one of every two people could enjoy it.The food and desserts were really quite tasty, though, so we are considering giving Willies another chance at some point.

Joyces Sushi
36-101 Bob Hope Dr STE E1, Rancho Mirage, CA 92270, United States
Beautiful and wonderful restaurant. The food is absolutely delicious and fresh. The California Roll is fresh crab and I had 2 orders of it; their Miso soup is the best I have ever eaten. Nice wide booths and a sushi bar awaits you. Great service. There’s a very extensive menu to choose from; which includes true Japanese items. Ample parking and plenty of parking spaces are available. A lovely place to eat the most delicious food.

Uncle Chai Thailand Street Food
69930 CA-111 Suite 122, Rancho Mirage, CA 92270, United States
Hands down best Thai food Ive ever had. And I have had A LOT. We ordered for pick up so I cant speak to their service or atmosphere, although my boyfriend said it looked very nice in there. If I could only eat one thing for the rest of my life it would be anything from this restaurant for eternity. Just for the info: I ordered Tom Kha soup & Shrimp Panang Curry with rice. Same thing I order at every Thai restaurant. Again best Ive ever had. This place is amazing!
