Gone here many times for lunch, but thought wed try for dinner. The front room had the noise from the refrigerator that was so loud that we asked to move into the back room. Only one waitress, she did her best, but service was poor. Ordered a kabob that Ive had many times before. Came loaded with onions on top - Im allergic. Waitress apologized, but didnt offer to make a new dish. I scrapped off the onions and asked if the menu had changed. She said Sometimes he (the cook) puts them on top and sometimes on the side. I went to get some tahini and was thinking of asking the cook for a side of rice since the onions premediated the rice. The chef shouted at me for not telling the waitress about the onions and was very rude. In the back room we heard pots and pans clanging all dinner. I didnt eat much - nether my kabob or my husbands entrée was very good. When the bill arrived, the waitress never offered to adjust the bill. Brought out a side of rice, but it was old and cold. Wont be back - such a shame...

SOMETHING HEALTHY CAFE SIERRA MADRE, CA.
7 Kersting Ct, Sierra Madre, CA 91024, United States
Really good sandwiches, soups, wraps and smoothies, all with vegetarian/vegan options or chicken, turkey, tri-tip, or tuna options for omnivores. Very popular but service is fast even when busy. Dine in or carry out, they have tables for two to four and a small counter facing the window. Salads are really good, and huge, you wont be hungry. The smoothies are healthy - so no added sugar, I guess, so they taste like fruit, not ice cream. The coconut curry soup is very good. Not sure whats up with the gold wallpaper, thats a bit odd, but I still love this place and will be back often. Really glad there is a quick healthy option. Highly recommend.

Satu Thai Bistro
160 Sierra Madre Ave, Azusa, CA 91702, United States
Update 9/28/20What can I say that I haven't already. Stellar food and better service. From pick up, delivery and dine in. Always great. This time was pick up and the food and service was just as good as always. My GF and i prefer different spice levels and she doesn't like onions, scallions or tomatoes so we are always customizing our orders. What impressed me is they have never messed up an order. We've even gone to two different spice level for the salad dressing and they always accommodate. As for the food this trip, it was delicious. It's been a month or so since our last trip due to the pandemic, so the food just tasted even better than we remember. Will have to make sure not to wait so long before the next trip.———————One of the best Thai places I have ever been too. Flavors are amazing and service impeccable. Go to dishes are the spicy Beef Salad and Penang Curry, but have tried many others and all were great. Only mistake I've ever made was to order items spicy which is something they take serious. I've had to adjust to Med Spicy which is perfect for most and then can kick it up when needed with their spicy sauces. The one with green chiles is fire. When you dine in, they also give you a small serving of ice cream which always hits the spot.

Pasadena Sandwich Company
259 Sierra Madre Villa Ave Ste 102, Pasadena, CA 91107, United States
I finally had a chance to visit Pasadena Sandwich Company with my friend after hearing a lot of buzz about it. And like everybody says, the sandwiches are humongous, but worth the price. Youre able to order at the counter for to-go orders, or you can sit down at a table to have your order be taken. The storefront is quite small with a few tables at the main entrance as well as a few more around the side. But because people pretty much eat and then leave, you wont have to wait too long for a table. Theres a small lot in the back for parking, but there is also residential parking close to the restaurant. I really like the atmosphere of the restaurant. Everybody is super nice and seem really relaxed and happy. That in turn makes you, the customer, feel just as relaxed and excited to eat the food. Theres also a very homey vibe to the restaurant. My friend and I decided to split Trust the Cook ($12). Basically its whatever the cook is feeling like making for you that day. All you know for sure is that the sandwich will be enormous. Im not sure if we had to pay extra to split the sandwich, but we did request to have them split the side order into one of the potato salad and macaroni salad. The sandwich came with a pickle, pepper, some fruit, and we also received some chocolate kisses.I dont exactly know what was in there, but I do know that it tasted good. There were more than 3 different meats, more than 2 types of cheese, tomatoes ... it was a good combination. I also really liked the potato salad, which is their most popular side. The macaroni salad didnt have very good flavor in my opinion. I could barely finish half of my sandwich, so I would definitely say this place has good leftovers for dinner since they only open until about 3.One other unique thing about PSC is that they have a ton of different and unique sauces on the side for you to try. I think there was cranberry mustard, Sriracha mustard - we tried almost everything! It made the sandwich eating experience much more fun.Definitely will be back to try out more sandwiches, but I will always bring somebody with me to split half!

Monsieur Crpe Caf
54 W Sierra Madre Blvd, Sierra Madre, CA 91024, United States
My friend treated me to one of his favorite spots for a belated birthday brunch. This is my first time eating at this restaurant. Its in Sierra Madre, small but very cozy. The atmosphere is casual and the decor reminds you of a French cafe! I noticed that it was very clean inside. The service is on point!!!! We did not have to flag anyone down for water, coffee refills, etc..We both had the quiche and soup combo-potato leek soup, spinach and goat cheese quiche $18.95. I had a side of fresh fruit $5.95 and coffee $2.95. It was very very delicious expecially the soup!!!! Oh my God!!!! ???The portions were big! My part was $27.85 before tax. But whos counting, he was treated me out for my belated birthday! ?Needless to say, we were both very full and satisfied. Such as life, we sat there for a bit to let the food digest so we could get up and walk later. ???Yes, we had dined sufficiently!!!! After about 40 minutes we got up and walked around town and enjoyed the day. This place is good enough for about 3 maybe 4 people to dine comfortablely. Its a bit noisy but full of laughter and people enjoying the food and each others company!!!I would definitely be coming back to try some other items on the menu but mostly for the warm, and friendly dining experience!!!!!

Poppy Cake Baking Company - Sierra Madre Location
328 W Sierra Madre Blvd, Sierra Madre, CA 91024, United States
Seriously. This is the best bakery anywhere in the San Gabriel valley. It surely must rank in the best bakeries in all of LA County. Their croissants alone qualify them for that status. After having lived in France for almost two years, I could never find a decent croissant anywhere in the States that came close to what I could get in Europe. Until I bit into one of Poppy Cakes croissants. Good grief. They are really that good. Perfectly crisp and crunchy on the outside, and decadently chewy and buttery on the inside. And truly, pretty much all of their other baked goods are at that level of excellence and perfection. Their freshly baked breads are some of the best around, especially the Country White and the Multi-Grain. Their many other baked goods are exquisite - the almond croissants, the apple bear claw, and their morning buns are all baked to perfection and have just the right level of sweetness so they can satisfy a craving but dont make you regret eating too much sugar. Their sandwiches are consistently good, their Fried Chicken is fantastic. And their chocolate cakes are heaven. We go there several times a week. Their chocolate chip cookies are so incredible, its hard to share them with the kids. How on earth is a bakery THIS GOOD???

Yui Restaurant
24 W Sierra Madre Blvd # A, Sierra Madre, CA 91024, United States
Came here on Sunday night with a group of friends. We were mesmerized with the quality of the food and the service they have. Its a true hidden gem where we would come back again and try different stuff on the menu!We ordered bunch of chirashi bowls, and they were so kind that I requested for all salmon chirashi bowl. Their sea bass soup was a must order in my opinion. Along with their rolls.Their negitoro is okay, could use more negitoro in it but its reasonable for the price as well. They dont have big table inside the restaurant so we were seated outside, but they have heaters around it, so I was warm all the time. Its located in Sierra Madre downtown where my fave ice cream shop is. Theres plenty of parking as well.Definitely will come back!

Lucky Baldwins Pub
21 Kersting Ct, Sierra Madre, CA 91024, United States
Lucky Baldwinds Pub has always been a favorite spot for me, thanks to its fantastic beer Belgian selection and great food. However, there are a few things that could be improved.Firstly, the beer selection is simply awesome. So many varieties, youll find something to your liking. The food is consistently good, with hearty portions and great flavors. However, its the only place Ive ever been where an order of chicken strips doesnt come with fries. The pub is both people and dog friendly, making it a welcoming place for everyone. The usual staff members Molly, Lisa, Crystal, Stacie, and the cooks, especially Josie, are amazing. They create a warm, friendly atmosphere that makes you feel right at home.Unfortunately, since the new manager Teresa took over, the service has declined. Teresa isnt very attentive, and this has had a noticeable impact on the overall experience. Ive seen people walk out because of the slower service and lack of attention to customers. Its sad to see the sense of community and the lively atmosphere diminish. I hope that management addresses these issues soon so that Lucky Baldwinds Pub can return to its former glory.

The Honey Baked Ham Company
480 S Sierra Madre Blvd, Pasadena, CA 91107, United States
I cant believe I have passed Honey Baked Ham Company 5 days a week for a full year and never knew what it had to offer (Mind Blown)As thanksgiving approaches I was talking to a co worker about my thoughts in purchasing a ham to only be told that they are open year round and also have lunch/dinner special. On a lunch break I finally decided to stop by and see what they offer, it was about 12:30pm and as I waked in there was only one person in line so the wait time was very little which I was happy about only because I knew I had lots of questions. The staff was amazing and very helpful, they answered all my questions and suggested some of the popular items.I ordered the Tavern Club with the Hawaiian Bread which cost $6.99 (What a Deal) and for $2.00 more you can make it a combo with a choice of a fresh made side and a side salad but right now they also have the $2.00 combo with a fresh made side and a slice of cake. This combo is a great buy and let me tell you it was sooo delicious. The ham is cooked to perfection and cut thick to make every bite worth your wild.I am happy to announce that I work minutes away and will definitely be back during my lunch breaks to try everything on the menu.FYI they have a good amount of parking out front and lots of staff to keep the flow moving inside.

Pepes Tacos
190 W Sierra Madre Ave, Azusa, CA 91702, United States
Always suspicious about a smaller restaurant with a vast menu, but we were craving a few different things and they had almost everything we wanted so we gave it a shot. Overall, pretty good and it all hit the spot. Free chips, even in to go orders which was cool.Menudo - 4 stars. good flavor but more soup than meat. Light on the hominy, which is how I like it too. May be my fault for ordering menudo in a weekday, but it was cold out and it sounded good. Will try again sometime and see if ratios improve.Tostada - 4 stars. was soggy by the time we got it home. Too soggy. We should have asked for it separately meat on the other hand was amazing.Tacos - 4 stars. Meats ranged from avg to good. Nothing really stood out as amazing but would say asada and carnitas were best. Shrimp and fish were good but a little light meat. Buche and lengua were ok. The hard shell taco was the stand out in this group and you can try with any meat. The barbacoa would be amazing in this.Salsa - 4.5 stars. both green and red were really good. Great flavors in the green and red had a kick without compromising taste.
