Noodle Bar
1944 Fremont Blvd, Seaside, CA 93955, United States
We found this place on Google reviews and gave it a try. My wife had the seafood soup and I had the special, pork chop. We were very pleased with the food quality, quantity (the fried rice could be better- I ordered it with the pork chop. The dish comes with a bowl of consomme which was comfortingly delicious) and the price was reasonable. We had to wait as the dinning area is very small, but the tasty food made the wait worthwhile. We live in Monterey and the only Vietnamese restaurant close to us is Chop Sticks which it is not as good as this one when it comes to ingredient content, i.e. more pork, shrimp, etc. All in all, great value for your money. I guess well be driving to Seaside more often. I forgot, I also had the mango boba and it was delicious. They take cash only. I had to drive to Wells Fargo as their ATM did not work. Still, worth the wait and drive.

A Southeast Asian fusion restaurant with pretty good food, and IG worthy decor.

If youre new to Burmese, I can best describe it like: if you cant decide what you wanted for dinner and had Thai, Chinese, Malaysian and some Indian food at the same time. ? My hubby hasnt had it more than once, so he was hesitant when I said I wanted to try this new San Jose spot that popped up on Doordash. I have since changed his mind on this cuisine. What we got delivered:Salt & pepper chickenBurmese style beef curryTea Leaf saladNan gyi dokPineapple fried riceThe Burmese Beef curry is tender like a proper pot roast, but this luscious curry flavor is unlike any other curries Ive tried before. This dish was hands down my favorite! The mouthwatering sauce was so delicious, I kept spooning it out of the to go container when the hubby wasnt looking. They didnt skimp on the amount of beef either, which surprised me. It always annoys me when I order curry, theres like 4 small pieces of meat with tons of sauce - not the case here!Everyone always recommends to try a tea leaf salad when you have Burmese. This is an unique salad with a ton of yummy crunchy ingredients you dont normally see in salads, and it deliciously compliments the tea leaf dressing. Worth a try if you havent before.Even though my hubby wanted pineapple fried rice (yum!) I wanted to try some noodles too. The nan gyi dok uses thick rice noodles that include a rich chicken curry, and a of different mix-ins! Ive never tried anything like this before, and its on my reorder list for next time! Also picky toddler approved. ???Salt / pepper chicken is my go to whenever I see it on any menu. This one had a really good spicy / sweet sauce that I loved, and the chicken was bite sized. I think it was our toddlers favorite since he kept stealing more fried chicken from my plate. The way Burma 3 packaged the food, theres no way any of your delivery drivers can tamper with the bag of food unnoticed, and thats something I really appreciated! Definitely will reorder again from here soon! Be sure to give them a try if you feel like having Asian fusion!
Pho Saigon Pasteur Noodle House

I have to say I am pretty disappointed with my last visit. There was an accident on the freeway and all the lanes were closed so I decided to come here and have dinner while the freeway clears up. I have been here before in the past and my experience was pretty mediocre. This time it was less pleasant than the last. Before I enter the establishment, their door was open, which tells me either they were being cheap about the air condition or their air condition was broken. Keep in mind, the temperature was close to 100°F. I was hoping to sit and enjoy the air condition restaurant but instead, I was eating hot food in a hot room. I ordered their roast chicken and it was pretty mediocre. With their restaurant door open to the hot weather it made my dining very uncomfortable. I generally don't drink water provided by restaurant, but in this case I drank about three glasses, not because I was thirsty, but it was to cool myself off. Not surprising, the only employee that was working, was an old man sitting at the back table, watching videos on his phone. Though I do have to give him a little bit of credit for the customer service. I did have to fly them down to get a refill of water instead of him checking up on my table. For the price of the items on the menu, it was higher than I would pay at other Vietnamese restaurants. I would definitely have to think twice if this happens again about eating at this location.Price: $$Quality: BService: B

How excitement can turn into abject disappointment in one meal. Went in and ordered the Lamb Curry with Paratha. They served it in plastic ware. I asked for a plate. They refused to give one, stating they don't have one to give.I turned around and saw a family of six eating in bowls. I literally asked “have I done something to offend you?” I was confused as to why they didn't have… plates and bowls?Anyway. I asked to be rung up so I can eat at home. One star gone for poor in-restaurant experience. Now to the food. All could be forgiven if the food was good. It wasn't. I ate a third and threw the rest. The lamb was cooked but inconsistently. Pan tossed at best versus cooked in the actual curry. It seems the gravy was added as an afterthought. The gravy was oily and under flavored, and barely constituted an ounce of the container at best. The potato seemed old and wrinkled and crumbled. The paratha was incredibly oily and doughy and felt like biting into oil, but not in a good way. There was an unnecessary heaviness to it.Lastly, the cucumber salad was insanely spicy, like “run and get some ice cream” level of heat. On a cucumber. The cucumber had more heat than the meat. The boorishly large portions of meat were a chore to eat.I absolutely love Burmese food and every Bay Area Burmese restaurant I've been to has been absolutely top notch, be it a fancy spot or a simple suburban one.But Kyain Kyain was such a let down.
Munchner Haus Delicatessen
39212 Fremont Blvd, Fremont, CA 94538, United States
Short version:Went in for a local lunch, found a new favorite. For those that want there meat and potatoes first, prices are low to moderate in my opinion, portions were generous, but not so crazy everyone should plan on leftovers, a friend who was stationed in Germany (USAF) stated this was a picture perfect example of what he found in german countryside festivals and street food. For the long version:Their location is a bit tucked in and hidden in the back of a larger center. But once you get there its a very nice building, well maintained. I cant verify german architecture, but it gave a very cottage feel. The woman working the counter was a delightfully sharp witted and fun. She saw us in the window and greeted us at the door. She was kind enough to teach us about some of the German imported candies and other treats they stock. We tried one they had at the counter for a quarter. It reminded me of a chocolate covered marshmallow fluff candy. Great selection of imported German beers. When we got our food I had a hot pastrami and it was incredible. Actual thick sliced, brined to a deeply colored pastrami, strong smell and great flavor. My roommate had a brat and while we ate he remarked he was really surprised to see a place this authentic even exists, let alone is good and affordable. He lived around in Germany for 3 years and says although hes no local, as near as he can tell it felt like a shop right out of the German countryside, full of fun people, full of energy, wit, and all off the tasty treats you can think of, or at least a lot more than I knew about. 10/10 would recommend just for the banter with the lady at the front counter. Big time sassy grandma vibes, 100% family friendly
Hunan Cuisine
6004 Stevenson Blvd, Fremont, CA 94538, United States
I ordered three dishes and all three were wrong. I ordered the chicken with saliva. The sauce was sweet and garlicky. I don't know if it was made into minced garlic white meat. I ordered Dandan Noodles and was served a bowl of soup noodles. How could the Dandan Noodles have a bowl full of soup? Finally, I ordered shredded wild peppercorn beef. Will I burn it to death if I strangle it? It doesnt have the spicy and refreshing feeling of wild sansho pepper at all, it just feels like torture. As a Sichuan child, I have eaten a lot of spicy food since I was a child, but it is rare to feel angry after eating it. I don't know much about Hunan cuisine, but I definitely don't put a lot of Mexican peppers in Sichuan cuisine to deliberately make the food spicy, and there is no sense of enjoyment at all.
World Gourmet Buffet Restaurant

We wound up coming to this buffet because our first choice had a 45 minute wait time. We came in on a Sunday, after the dinner rush, at about 8pm. I had high hopes for this place, given the size and the decor, and I was quickly disappointed. The seafood options were under seasoned; the crab legs were the only seafood option I can say that I earnestly enjoyed. The salad bar was fairly robust, and was fresh enough to make a good salad.Unfortunately, I cant say the same for the meat options. The Teriyaki chicken was hard as a rock, and its impossible for me to say how it tasted because I simply couldnt bite through it. The honey chicken, and the beef options were very lightly seasoned, and quite tough, though nowhere near the hardness of the teriyaki chicken. They do have a Mongolian option; its about what you would expect from a grill off to the side in a Chinese buffet: competently executed, but nothing special. To their credit, the buns, potstickers, and soups were fairly good, though the potstickers were burned on the bottom. Ill acknowledge we did come fairly late in the day, which may have affected quality. The service was actually quite good, our drinks were constantly checked and plates cleared in a timely matter. I just wish the owners had spent a little less on decorations and a little more on the food and chefs.
