Dae Jang Geum Tofu House
235 Southgate Ave, Daly City, CA 94015, United States
Wow, what a hidden gem! I recently visited Jar Jang Geum Tofu House and was blown away by the delicious and varied menu options.First, the Bulgogi (thinly sliced marinated beef) was cooked to perfection - tender and flavorful. The short ribs were fall-off-the-bone tender and richly flavored. The fried chicken wings were crispy and spicy, just the way I like them. But the real standout was the Bimbimp Bap with beef in a Hot stone Bowl - the beef was tender and the rice was cooked to a perfect crisp on the bottom. And the Tofu Soup was creamy and comforting. Each dish was expertly prepared and presented. Highly recommend this restaurant for a taste of Korea in Daly City.

I always eat korean food because I am a traditional Korean at heart. I have dined at every korean restaurants in Dallas, TX and I was visiting SF and this restaurant because some of the other korean restaurants in SF were closed on Tuesday I find odd time to be closed during the business week! This restaurant has NO environment just a building that serves korean food. The question is, was it good??? I say IT IS NOT the best korean restaurant in SaF that I've tried.I've tried Wooden Charcoal Korean Village BBQ in SF is one of the tastiest and I really enjoyed their concept of charcoal bbq. One thing to keep in mind is that the charcoal gets VERY HOT so be careful while grilling your meats.I live in Dallas, TX and the VERY BEST TRADITIONAL KOREAN RESTAURANTS are in Dallas, TX!!!!!In Dallas they have ALL YOU CAN EAT KOREAN BBQ!!!!!!! Heaven on earth!! And in Dallas they do not charge you extra if you request for more rice and more sides like they do in San Francisco!! Lame!

Bart Grocery

Could be one of the best Korean restaurants in the whole Bay Area. Certainly a great bargain as far as price. Rivals Manna in the sunset and my favorite Tofu House in the Richmond. This is a great place for takeout I would give it six stars if possible.

So my brother Jim, brings my LW, myself, and my other brother here. First time for us, and being in the South City area, and nearby Daly City, there are more than a few Filipino restaurants to choose from. So this place must be good if we end up here right? And boy is it. Wedged into a tiny strip mall, that you might pass by a few times before you actually find it. To say the restaurant is small in an understatement, and evidently always packed. My old man (RIP) always contended that whatever ethnic restaurant you might visit, look in and if the place isnt filled with that particular ethnicity, Run, quickly. But seriously, there was a healthy majority of Pinoys there and a good mix all enjoying the fare. So, on to the actual food. Since I compare every Filipino restaurant cooking to my Lola, my Mom, and all my Aunts, they are at a slight disadvantage. We tried the standards, chicken adobo, calderreta, Sinigang, Machado, and longanisa. All were very good, tasted as they should, especially the Sinigang. Will I go back? OH YES, still have tho try their pinakbet, kare kare, and dinaguan.
Spicy House
6811 Mission St, Daly City, CA 94014, United States
This is one of the best Sichuan restaurants I have been to in the Bay Area. The prices are really good and you get a lot of food. Our favorites were the cucumber salad, mapo tofu, spicy beef, and chili oil wontons. Can’t wait to go back and try more!
Tselogs
6860 Mission St, Daly City, CA 94014, United States
Pleasantly surprised. Ive heard of Tselogs before, but never had the chance to go until today. We initially drove to Gateway Kitchen (Google said they were open. Got there and saw they had a sign saying theyre closed for the day), then we drove to Superstar (Same as Gateway, closed for the day). Was there something going on in the Filipino community? I had no idea. But we didnt give up. We considered Turo, but since Ive never tried Tselogs, we went there instead. Parking was a bit difficult to find. We found a spot on a side street. We entered the restaurant and waited to be seated. There were 7 or 8 tables, half of which were occupied. The lone server was busy with another group of customers. After awkwardly standing by the entrance for a couple of minutes, we were told that we were welcome to pick our own table and take our seats. We were given menus and were told to order and pay at the counter. We ordered Tocilog, sisig fries, lechon kare kare, and a slice of buko pie and waited about 15 to 20 minutes before food was served. The server and the cooks sounded Filipino, so I wasnt surprised that the food tasted delicious. What started out as a budget breakfast ended up being a proper brunch (complete with a price to match). We spent about $60 before tax and tip, but we did take quite a bit of it home. Also have to mention their interiors. Love the bar and the filipino touches. The restroom was clean, too. Didnt see a cocktail menu, so I do want to come back to see what they offer. Check them out!
Tomo Sushi & Teriyaki
1901 Junipero Serra Blvd # G, Daly City, CA 94014, United States
Delicious food, excellent service, reasonable pricing.Roughly as cost effective as take out. I order a pretty big portion (2 entrees) and my partner orders a lot of sides (typically 4 or 5 and takes some home). After this, two large beers, and refillable iced tea, we were looking at an $80 bill before gratuity. Typically were looking at around $100 before gratuity. The staff there also, very evidently, work together as a team. We didnt have just one waiter/waitress, but instead 3 were assigned to the area which made the wait times between beverage refills (something thats important to me) virtually negligible. I wish more restaurants followed this model. It definitely puts the customer experience first while still efficiently freeing up tables.Take into account as well that the restaurant is next door to the movie theater, and this makes a great night out.
The Habit Burger Grill
305 Gellert Blvd STE A, Daly City, CA 94015, United States
Upscaled In-n-Out except the Animal Fries. Much better than most fast food restaurants. Lines arent as ridiculous unless you come around 6:30-8:30PM. The lemonade is much better than In-N-Out and a bigger menu.
Kukje Supermarket
2350 Junipero Serra Blvd, Daly City, CA 94015, United States
My favorite spot to get korean tofu soup & bibimbab as well grocery shopping. Decent price for common Korean dishes. Never ordered grilled pork (galbi, bulgogi, etc) as they are expensive even for lunch. Around $16 ish per dish. Great selection of tofu soup & hot stone pot rice mix (bibimbab). The two items that I always order. Tried bento box before & love it. Better deal during weekday lunch. Ordered sushi few times but fishes didnt seem as fresh as most of Japanese restaurants. After satisfied your belly with yummy korean meals, you should walk around the supermarket. The restaurant is inside the supermarket. Love love love this supermarket. I buy brown rice, beans, & other grains here since found this place 5 years ago. Good selection of dried products, kimchi, rices, beans, salts, chili pastes, chili powders, you name it. Very great store if you need Korean & other Asian ingredients. The reason why I keep coming back to this store for dried produces because of the high quality of their items. They either made in Korean, Japan, Vietnam, Thai, or USA. Rarely see made in China, which I usually avoid. Not much on fresh vegetables & tends to be more expensive comparing to other Asian stores (ranch 99, May Wah supermarket, etc).If you nearby Daly City neighborhood & want korean dishes & buy goodies, this place wont disappoint you.
