Ding How Restaurant
640 W Covell Blvd, Davis, CA 95616, United States
Everytime I eat their food, I am in bliss. Everything made has such great flavor. I love how Dings serves you what you pay for and perhaps even more than what you pay for. Remember to emphasize, if you order by phone or even there at th restaurant, that you are ordering from the vegetarian menu (if you are vegetarian/vegan) or mistakes can accidentally be made. Anyway, one of my fave Chinese food spots. A total must try.
Three Ladies Cafe
130 G St suite a, Davis, CA 95616, United States
Weve been meaning to try this cafe for a while and finally got around to it. Our experience in a word is unimpressed. The first impression of this place is the interior. Its fine, but messy. It feels like youre walking into a friends kitchen with things strewn about rather than a restaurant. But the staff is friendly! We ordered a caprese panini, a beet salad, and two smoothies. The smoothies were delicious. I really enjoyed my Blueberry smoothie and my girlfriend enjoyed her smoothie as well although it was a bit runny. Altogether, they mostly met expectations for $7 each. The caprese panini was a huge disappointment. For $10, I got toasted sandwich bread, a few slices of tomatoes, thick slices of mozzarella, and a sprinkle of some dried herbs - I think garlic powder and basil - on top. It wasnt satisfying to eat and didnt have the fresh caprese flavor I was hoping for. For $10, I can get a whole lot more at Zias or Nugget. The beet salad was OK. For $10, we got a plate of beets, beet leaves, and some greens with balsamic, nuts, and cheese. Pretty standard, but nothing special. All of this served on paper plates with plastic utensils. In all, we spent $40 on lunch and left wishing wed eaten elsewhere. We were hoping for a lot more from this cafe, but we just cant recommend it.
Ikes Love & Sandwiches
212 F St B, Davis, CA 95616, United States
As a sandwich aficionado, I often give in to the thrall of a good sandwich shop, and I visit this spot several times a month. I can say Ive never had a bad sandwich from here. The ingredients are always fresh, the sandwich construction doesnt leave me a sticky mess or with gobs of sandwich filling on my plate (or on my shirt), and the flavors are well- balanced for a collegetown location. The service is very good--to the point and motivated to get your sandwich to you quickly. The menu can be daunting because it is so large. For someone like myself, this results in decision fatigue as I read through each option, trying to narrow down my selection. The menu could honestly be cut in half and still offer an array of options for all palates. Also, things can be a bit on the pricier side which might be a problem for some, but the quality makes up for the price.I cant speak for other locations in this chain, but this one is definitely worth a try. Beware though: parking can be scarce in the area, so be prepared to walk.

Absolutely the best. So many vegan and vegetarian options. I have never been disappointed with a meal. Staff is nice. Service is good and the restaurant in South Davis is clean.

I have been going to this place for quite some time and I am not coming back. The first strike this visit was that when placing the order the person at the front had difficultly understanding a swap made on the order. The second strike came because once the food was ordered it took them 20 minutes to get us our food, which on a busy day is explainable but last night was a slow night, so there is no excuse. The third strike came from the food itself, I ordered the Tres Taco Basket with chicken and my wife ordered their special, the Shrimp and Pineapple Quesadilla. The food was lukewarm, which means either a lack of proper cooking or slow from the grill to the table time. The taco meat was over peppered to the point were I could not eat all three tacos, and the quesadilla tasted off, and made her sick. I would recommend if you want quick quality food go elsewhere because there is a chance you will get sick.
Taco Bell
425 G St, Davis, CA 95616, United States
Always love the Bell.Update 03/10/2022: Super big fail. Missed an item in our order. It was only a taco, but when you only order four items and they miss one thing, that is a 25% error. Also didnt give us the taco bell sauce we asked for when ordering through the kiosk. I guess that will teach us a lesson...CHECK YOUR ORDER BEFORE YOU LEAVE!Tried a new item, the Crunchwrap Supreme. It tasted good, but the outer tortilla seemed stale. Not like it had an opportunity to sit around for a couple of hours getting cold and chewy. It was only a few minutes. Also, the music in the lobby was so loud, couldnt have a conversation. I guess they were trying to drive customers away. Dont get me wrong, I love music. But when you can barely hear your name called and you are standing 10 feet away, it is a bit too loud.Order Fail. Restaurant disaster.Update: they still have green sauce. Excellent choice when ordering a regular bean burrito.

I am writing to express my dissatisfaction with the management practices at Ikes Love and Sandwiches. I have observed several issues that significantly impact both the working environment and the overall customer experience. There are issues concerning workplace safety and hygiene that need to be addressed promptly. Proper training on food handling and sanitation protocols seems inadequate, posing potential risks to both employees and customers, resulting in an unsanitary and potentially hazardous environment. In light of these concerns, I urge you to take immediate action to address the issues raised and to implement necessary changes to improve the working conditions and overall performance of Ikes Love and Sandwiches. A constructive and supportive work environment is essential for the success of any business, and it is imperative that management takes proactive steps to foster such an environment.Thank you for your attention to this matter. I look forward to seeing positive changes implemented in the near future.
Pizza Guys
505 L St, Davis, CA 95616, United States
I would have left 0 stars if I could have.I live right across street from the Davis Pizza Guys restaurant;its been a few months since I went in.I walked across the street and went in tonight to order a one topping special large pizza.I spoke with a girl behind the counter who spoke in a small voice and I asked her to please speak a little louder;for the record,I do have good hearing.I asked her to make sure to put enough of the topping on my pizza because last time I ordered from them, the topping was Very sparse.A woman working there named Catherine interjected in a Very Loud voice at me and yelled-out at me whats the name on the order !! ;I had already given my name to the other small voice woman, who just stood there smiling while her and all her other co-workers kept staring at me while Catherine yelled the same question at me a few times.I was shocked & very insulted by Catherines yelling and didnt answer right away.. A Very stressful experience which I will not repeat again.I came back in a half hour later to pick-up the pizza which I ordered and asked them to open the box for me to inspect it.The thing I saw in the box didnt even look like a pizza;not at all round;it was in some strange shape with very little topping on it.I missed taking a picture of it,but not sure it would load on this review screen.I mentioned this problem to the male employee who had opened and was holding the box open and he said oh,well put a few more pieces on it and throw it back in the oven for you !! Im thinking Whatt?? !! !I miss when Robert was the manager there;this new crew of employees have strange attitudes..I hope they get the show Undercover Bosses to do a special on this Davis,CA. store;whether he cares or not is doubtful.Ill never go in there again.
Papa Murphys Take N Bake Pizza

I recently had the pleasure of visiting Papa Murphys in Davis, CA, and I must say, its nothing short of extraordinary! This particular location is a gem, and its all thanks to the fantastic manager, Prabh, and his stellar team.Prabhs leadership truly sets the tone for this Papa Murphys haven. The energy in the store is palpable, and you can feel the dedication to providing excellent service. What makes this place even more special is its status as a local, family-owned business—a true pillar of the community. But Prabh is not just a remarkable manager; hes also a community hero with a heart of gold. I learned that he has been generously donating pizzas to local gurdwaras to help feed the community. Its heartwarming to see a business giving back in such a meaningful way. Now, lets talk about the star of the show—the pizza! Today, I indulged in the Cowboy pizza with Pepperoni, sausage, mushrooms, and olives, and it was a taste bud extravaganza! The ingredients were incredibly fresh, and the flavor combination was nothing short of divine. Whats more, they honored my coupons, making this delightful experience even more budget-friendly.The overall value of the pizzas at this Papa Murphys is outstanding. Combine that with the deliciousness factor, and youve got a winning combination. The store itself is impeccably clean and well-organized, creating an inviting atmosphere for pizza lovers like me.I cant wait to make a return visit and explore the other mouthwatering options on the menu. Kudos to Prabh and the entire team at Papa Murphys, Davis CA, for creating a pizza paradise that goes beyond just great food—its an experience worth savoring!

I come to this place about twice a month. I always recommend it to friends and family. The food is good. Very casual environment but nice. The staff is friendly.I had a bad experience there today. While my family and I were dinning in, we were asked if we would like appetizers. We wanted to get to the main dishes right away, so we said no and that we would like to order the main plates. The person serving us explained the menu to us. He mentioned that the dishes we were ordering (all banoo kebab plates) come with salads or yogurts. So, we chose the salads/yogurt we wanted. He said the actual dish would take 38 minutes to prepare, so he said he will bring out the sides of our dishes first. We thought it was a good idea. All of my family members understood that the sides come with the main dish price based on him saying they are part of the main dishes. We go to pay and apparently we were charged for the salads/yogurts as separate items. In my opinion this was a sleazy way to up sell the customers. We were tricked into ordering appetizers basically. The server presented the sides as they come with the main dish then charging separately (maybe hoping the customer would not question things too much..as we did not at first until I looked at the check closely). So, if they tell you something comes with your plate be absolutely sure that it does. It is not about the money but the principle. Now I feel cheated. Should not trick loyal customers like this. It is a dishonest sleazy way of doing business. It was a very dirty move. We made it known to the person who pulled this trick before we left.EDIT: Running out of food was NOT the issue. You exclusively told us that salads or yogurts come as sides of the main plates (meaning the price of the main plate includes the price of the side). THEN, when we went to pay you charged us about 35 dollars extra for yogurts and salad that were again supposed to be free sides because you exclusively said so. You misled us. Again, it is not about the money but it is wrong to take advantage/trick your loyal customers or any customer for that matter.
