The Modern Tea Room
705 W Lancaster Blvd, Lancaster, CA 93534, United States
I love the vegan food there. I've tried their tacos and they are deliciously marinated walnut meat. Unfortunately, not all the pastries are vegan. The Mother's Day special came with a pastry and I forgot to ask if it was vegan since they offered it to me that day for free which was so sweet of them to do. I unfortunately had digestive issues but that was all my fault for not asking if it was indeed vegan friendly. Lesson learned on my part. Other than that the waitress was very accommodating and friendly. The Oreo puffs are very sweet puff pastry I believe wrapped around Oreo cookies and chocolate ganache. The Avo sandwich is a standard alfalfa with avocado always a nostalgic taste back to when I first went vegan 8 years ago. I loved this tea house, the teas are amazing, steeped to perfection! I've tried their Roses or dozen roses tea, I'm horrible with names please forgive me, which I recommend it's magnificent. The art around the walls is so pretty too I wish I had $650 to buy one piece it spoke to me, but just sitting under it admiring it for half an hour was relaxing.

Taco Bell
1740 E Ave. J, Lancaster, CA 93535, United States
(UPDATE) (PLEASE READ FOR YOUR SAFETY) CAUTION TO ALL DINERS AND WHOMEVER ELSE IT MAY CONCERN. (BE VERY CAUTIOUS EATING HERE) HARD, SHARP CLEAR PLASTIC FOUND IN NACHOS. PLASTIC WRAPPER FOUND IN MEXICAN PIZZA. After eating about half of the Nachos, I began chewing on what I thought was just a stale tortilla chip covered in nacho cheese, although after attempting to swallow it, I began to choke and was fortunately able to cough it back up and spit it out which made a big mess all over the driver seat of my car. After inspecting further it turned out to be a hard, sharp piece of clear plastic.( Possibly piece of a plastic drink cup) (Pictures shown below). My throat became scratched and sore immediately. If soreness and irritation dont clear up very soon I may have to seek help from a Physician to avoid a possible infection. Very scary experience for a casual late night fast food meal out. I am very very lucky to only have suffered damage and discomfort and not have to rush directly to the E.R., others may not be so lucky. CAUTION to anyone with elderly family members or children who might be more at risk to choking. This is the second time within six months that I have had plastic in my food from this location. The last time I found a plastic wrapper in my Mexican Pizza, after eating over half of it. Taco Bell Corporate offered me a discount coupon after the last incident however I dont believe that is worth the risk of possibly choking or worse by continuing to eat here. It appears they have not implemented better standards. CAUTION, always thoroughly inspect your food in a well lit area. The employees here seem to be very nice however the quality control and food safety are not to be desired and should be reported to the proper authorities before someone else chokes or worse. I understand mistakes can and do happen sometimes, however mistakes like this can cause loss of life, or at the very least an injury and/or expensive and traumatizing trip to the Emergency Room. Totally Unacceptable. Such a bummer I was starting to enjoy this store again. At this point I dont feel its worth risking a choking hazard, and will not be returning here to dine. Food safety and possible choking hazards should be taken very seriously as many die or are injured every day due to negligence regarding food handling. Taco Bell you have to do better and implement higher standards to ensure the safety of your customers! No excuse. Im lucky to be breathing after this last food safety incident with Taco Bell. (ALWAYS INSPECT YOUR FOOD) Hope this review helps others in some way. Stay safe. Be cautious.

What a cool, new, hip place with a great vibe! I had a great experience from beginning to end on my first visit. Everyone was in a good mood there and it helped me especially since I was on lunch break and wasnt in the best mood. I got the sweet and savory bowls! The purple rice was both phenomenal tasting and looking. I love the rotating seasonal option, the turkey pastrami was so tasty! I ended up picking lots of great toppings, I cant list them all but they all were soooo good. Perfect proportion size and well priced. The sweet bowl I just had them make me something good as all ingredients were delicious, the bowl they created was the best way to end my first visit there.

In-N-Out Burger
2021 W Ave I, Lancaster, CA 93536, United States
Revised 09/05/2023Management has done nothing to deter the vagrant begging for money, as he stands at the entrance holding the door open for paying customers. Customers should NEVER be disturbed!Always busy, with hustling fast hard working employees, who make this a true Southern California Landmark of Great Hamburger Franchises, which has continued on with success at this location. The Lancaster store is as busy, and excellent in all aspects, as any In-N-OUT Burger location. This location has easy access at the Avenue I Exit, on the Antelope Valley 14 Freeway, making for easy access. One Cant beat their old fashioned style of great hamburgers, fries, shakes, as if it were the days of sock hop soda pop.Theres always a line, but its worth the wait, and the wait is minimal for as many customers as constantly patronize this location. The Cheeseburgers and Fries are by far the very best of any of the competition. For the cost of 1 Double-Double, 1 Triple-Triple, 1 french fry, with 2 Cokes, for less than $20, no one can compare to In-N-Out, for outstanding Americana fast food at an unbelievably low prices!In-N-Out defies the cliche: you get what you pay for, because here you get the best for far less!

Complexity Wine
2010 W Ave J8 #101, Lancaster, CA 93536, United States
Ok, so this is a weird one for me. My husband and I liked the atmosphere and were able to sit inside which was nice because it was cold and windy outside. Which leads me to talking about the food and beverage. He ordered a Mac and Cheese and I had a meal that was primarily portobello mushrooms (vegetarian meal). There were veggies, rice, etc. I did not like how my food tasted and my husband just said his was alright. The spinach dip we had was super good. Now, its all overpriced in my opinion and I have no issues paying good money for a night out. 2 meals, 1 app, 1 wine, 1 beer = over $120. The fact that the highlight was the appetizer didnt help. I see what they are attempting to do and I feel like if the food was upped and had better flavor then it would be just right. The servers, hostess, etc were all wonderful and kind/attentive and fast. The restaurant is lovely and clean. We may give it a second try in the future. Perhaps since indoor dining started that same day then they were a bit overwhelmed.

Crazy Ottos Diner
43528 20th St W, Lancaster, CA 93534, United States
Crazy Otto’s is a small chain of diners serving standard American diner food, and honestly, nothing particularly crazy. They also have a “no substitutions” policy, which is tough enough at almost any other nicer restaurant where some thought and artistry goes into their foods, but pretty inexcusable when youre really just serving standard diner food and patrons like us hope that we might be able to create a meal for ourselves, even if we are vegetarians, or people with gluten-free diets. For example my wife wanted an omelette with avocado and wanted no meat in it. They were happy to take the meat out but to add spinach it was $3.25, which seemed pretty ridiculous, or in the terminology of the restaurant crazy.I had a cheese omelette made with egg whites. It was definitely large but nothing special. The egg whites were a little overcooked, the cheese didnt have much flavor, and the hash-browns were really just a bunch of undercooked potatoes, with no discernible seasoning. The food did come out insanely fast, so I guess kudos for the quick service, if only any of it was any good. Please restaurants, take your time with my food and make it right. My wife also ordered her hash-browns well done. They came out essentially burned and inedible. Considering the ones I had on my omelette were undercooked and under-seasoned Im wondering if Crazy Otto’s could find a crazy medium between not cooked enough and potatoes served directly out of the sun.I had a biscuit as my bread choice. I love biscuits and Ive had them with breakfast at restaurants all over our fine nation. This was probably the worst biscuit Id ever had. It was terrible! It almost had the flavor of a biscuit but the texture was awful. It says right on their menu they have the “best biscuits in town.” Well to be fair this is the only biscuit Ive had in Lancaster, and Id say, compared to what Ive had in the rest of the United States of America, Lancaster really needs to up their biscuit game if this is the best they have to offer. My wife added tortillas to her meal so she could have a gluten-free bread choice. She did kind of enjoy the spinach and avocado that she pulled out of her eggs, wrapped in the tortillas (A sort of roll-your own breakfast quesadilla) There was of course an extra fee for the tortillas and no other gluten free bread options available. On the positive side our son really enjoyed his french fries and sourdough toast. Well done Otto’s as for not stirring up french fries and toast. Perhaps this can be a building block for your future success.I cant speak much to the cleanliness of the restaurant either. The paper napkins they gave us actually stuck to the table. They were nice enough to come and clean it again and dry it off so that didnt happen a second time. But not really great first impression on their regular table cleaning process. They did offer half sizes on their insanely large omelettes for just a dollar less. Which is cool though considering the amount of food that they gave you perhaps more than a dollar off would be warranted for these fairly expensive omelettes. If youre considering eating at Ottos, Id suggest youd be better off just mailing the $20 to Otto and then eating somewhere else.

The food is fantastic. Not many Vegan/Vegetarian restaurants in the AV, but the choices and food is great here. Friendly and quick service even when they only have one person working.

Phebies Cafe
235 W Ave K, Lancaster, CA 93534, United States
They always have spot on service and the food is tasty! Theyre open from 6am-2pm Sunday-Saturday. We had friends order for us because we arrived at 1:45, many places may not give you great service because theyre about to get off, but they were wonderful, friendly and our delicious food was served quickly.I ordered the Hot Cakes special, aka 2 pancakes, eggs scrambled, sausage and bacon. I prefer my sausage a bit firm, well cooked and it was spot on. My pancakes were soft, airy and delicious! My sister ordered the Denver omelette with hash browns with a side of biscuits and gravy. The biscuits were nice and fluffy, thick, but cant gravy and they didnt disappoint! Id have to say theyre up there with Crazy Ottos! Our friends ordered the waffle combo with Sunny side up eggs sausage and bacon. My other friends got the Homestyle fries scrambled eggs and bacon with biscuits and gravy. MmMmm! If you havent been there yet, make sure to go, youll be satisfied!

LOVE RAMEN
2787 W Ave L, Lancaster, CA 93536, United States
Im so used to having tons of ramen shops to choose from in Los Angeles / SGV area, but here it is very limited to a couple of shops. If you compare the ones down there to the ones up here, this shop would be decent; however, up here in the AV this place is pretty much one of best ramen shops in town. This ramen shop has really cute interior designs, and offers both indoor and outdoor seating. We opted for indoor seating with AC.We were immediately greeted and provided the menu. You could see that the menu prices have increased due to inflation because ramen were $1-2 cheaper a few months ago.We got a couple of appetizers-- the takoyaki, okonomiyaki, and the chicken kaarage. The okonomiyaki is a hard pass for me; it didnt taste right and was especially doughy. The takoyaki and chicken kaarage werent too bad though. They were both crispy, and have the flavoring just about right.I got the tan tan ramen and the noodle texture was pretty solid. The broth and portions were good sizes. The only thing to note for folks is that tan tan ramen tends to be more saltier, so I do not recommend for folks who likes clearly broth. My sister tried a bit of it and she didnt like how heavy the broth was.Overall, this place is pretty decent for your ramen craving. I would definitely come again to try other menu items.
