We went to Urban Plates in Pleasant Hill to celebrate my birthday.I was impressed by their commitment to accommodating a variety of dietary needs. The restaurant offers plenty of vegetarian and gluten-free options, and the staff was happy to make modifications to dishes. Also the standout service provided by the sous chef, Lonnie. He greeted us with a warm smile and took the time to check in with us, making recommendations and answering all our questions. Its clear that he takes pride in his work, and his passion for cooking is reflected in every dish he prepares.Overall, I cant recommend Urban Plates in Pleasant Hill highly enough. From the delicious food to the exceptional service, its clear that this is a restaurant that truly cares about its customers. And with Lonnies customer service, you can expect nothing but the best.

Based on visiting here 1 time so far. The overall food quality was very good. I like that they had two types of cheese (Motz and the mixed cheese), and the spicy chicken was really nice. Well-made and at a good price, I would definitely visit here again. If there were just a couple small area to improve, would be the cross ingredient contamination. I could see that some of the toppings had dropped into other containers eg pieces of cheese were in the red sauce etc. As someone who was ordering for people with SEVERE food allergies this was not a good sign. And at one time the person making the pizza took a full spoon full of meat over all the vegetables to get to a pizza he was making on the counter. And as some of my order was for family members are also strict vegetarian, I dont think this is a good practice. Plus not glove change with vege food orders. (Obviously at a restaurant we cannot see what they do in the kitchen, however since this is in plain sight and made to order its just something to consider : )Also would be nice if they asked names for each pizza. As large orders gets confusing and mixed up.But overall good food, good price. Will definitely be back.
Sirens Deli & Juice Bar

Original owner that invented the sandwich board names sold the restaurant several months ago. Been some slippage since. The sandwiches are still good but the service speed has tanked.Positive: They are back to putting more meat on the sandwiches I order.Negative: There are never more than 2 employees working at lunch time and if there are more than 2 ppl in line expect a 10 to 15 minute wait. Got told that today. One employee was taking orders, collecting money and then made the sandwiches. The second was fiddling around walking to and from the back empty handed. There also seems to be some unfamiliarity with the menu by the employees my last few visits. I had to have them re-do my order last time because they didnt read the order instructions printed on the register slip and made my sandwich exactly how I DIDNT want it.Still worth a try but probably will have to drop em if they keep up the slow prep speed.Unfortunate because they seem to have the most of the rest figured out.Wait one more thing...every sandwich I have gotten here since the new owners took over, and my friends too, is gorped with sauce. Whether its mustard or mayo, Italian sauce or 1st or 2nd alarm, it comes squeezing out all over.Impossible to eat in a car or even at a table in a dress shirt. Trust me, make sure you watch what they are doing unless you want 2T of sauce everywhere when you are done. Also, they have run out of sandwich rolls on me here more than once at noon....how does that work?Risky for a small business that could teeter on the brink of failure losing customers.Overall a good spot otherwise.
Taco Bell
500 Contra Costa Blvd, Pleasant Hill, CA 94523, United States
Customer service is horrible. From the beginning i enterd theyre shouting at you. I was given attitude because i miss understood what the cashier lady told me (Maria). This lady goes behind to the kitchen and starts talking rudely about me to the others coworkers. After i told her i dont want what i accidently ordered. Her attitude changed. She started rasing her voice and yelling at me for not listening.(she spoke broken english and had her face mask on)sorry for misunderstanding. They took for ever to get me my order on purpose. 4/26/20 4:10pm Friday. The boss really needs to. Get with her team. Dont go here. Rude team. UpdateWhen you get the taco bell team upset they dont even bother to seal the bag ?
Westside Cafe

Ordered the chicken spring rolls. Which was made with precooked packaged chicken that had been chopped so gross. Additionally they served the food on a plate covered in foil then wrapped the food in foil. The foil was sticking to the food which can cause cross contamination of metals into food. Waste of money threw it away.

I recently had the pleasure of trying the tuna sandwich at this fantastic restaurant, and I must say it was absolutely amazing! The sandwich was packed with flavorful and perfectly seasoned tuna, complemented by fresh vegetables and a delicious sauce. The bread was toasted to perfection, adding a delightful crunch to each bite. The staff was friendly and attentive, and to top it off, the manager surprised me with a complimentary cookie, which was the perfect sweet ending to my meal. I highly recommend this restaurant for their outstanding sandwiches and great Salads and exceptional service.

Pho Viet
1968 Contra Costa Blvd, Pleasant Hill, CA 94523, United States
This place was recommended to me by my nail tech at Teamwork Nail Salon. Very cute and casual, family friendly restaurant. The Bun Bo Huey was incredible! It was SO GOOD and just the right amount of spice. The cubed steak dish was delicious and we shared as an appetizer. The Jasmine tea was steeped to perfection. My daughter had the kids chicken pho and it was just shredded chicken, noodles, and broth. Exactly how a kids soup should be and she “enjoyed every part of her meal.” What a perfect dinner on a chilly night. So excited to have this new pho spot in the PH neighborhood.

The Hangout
2217 Morello Ave, Pleasant Hill, CA 94523, United States
Ive been watching a lot of animal documentaries. Its pretty wild to see what some animals will do to find a partner. This one bird will clean a section of the forest floor. Every time a leaf falls in his section, he freaks out. He flys over to the leaf and picks it up with his mouth to clear it out of his territory. His designated space has to be absolutely spotless so that if a lady bird is impressed, shell fly over to check out his spot. The male bird isnt done yet though. He then dances for her. He performs this dance in his new clean territory and if the lady bird is impressed, theyll mate. Talk about true love. It made me think, what do I have to offer a potential mate? Im not that clean and Im not the best dancer. So when I was on a date at the Hangout, I tried to think of other ways I could impress my date. When our pancakes came out, they had blueberries on top of them. Ive always been really good at throwing blueberries high in the air and then catching them in my mouth. So I started doing this in hopes of impressing my date. Maybe it would show her that I have good hand-eyed coordination...or mouth-eyed coordination? Itd also display that Im a healthy eater. Those are some valuable traits to pass down to a potential offspring. She tried to throw some blueberries in her mouth, but sucked. So clearly my genes had something to offer where her genes were lacking. Or maybe her brain was telling her, why would anyone want to practice such a useless skill -- Ive put in a lot of hours. Anyway, I dont know how impressed she was by my blueberry catching abilities, but I enjoyed my time here. The food was delicious too.
