Pho Dreams
413 Main St, El Segundo, CA 90245, United States
A bit of my background b4 I tear into this review: I am ethnic Vietnamese & grew up (from Saigon all the way to the USA) eating from the best to the not-so-delicious Vietnamese food. A typical VM resto is almost always graded on the taste & authenticity of our staple dish -- rice noodle soup with beef (well abbreviate it as RNS). The ingredients are very basic...rice noodles, beef (variety of what you want to eat from thinly sliced beef to all kinds of beef parts such as tendons, tripes etc.), & raw vegetables to add at will. And last but not least...the broth which is added hot just before serving it! Once the bowl is in front of me I normally would catch a whiff of the steamimg broth before beginning to sample it as it has a particular pleasant smell & taste that define its authenticity, in short the broth makes or breaks this VM national dish.Typically a VM customer will often not make a 2nd visit to the resto whose RNS doesnt taste authentic. That being said, I will not revisit Pho Dreams! The broth tasted bland at best! My taste buds were crying out for the familiarity they had grown to know from a delicious beef broth...they got none! The 2 kinds of meat I ordered were raw beef slices & tendons; I literally had to dig for the few tiny pieces of tendons. Tendons are not expensive so a typical resto would spoil you with a good amount; not at Pho Dreams apparently!I was hungry...yet I struggled to finish the bowl, but had to because I didnt want to waste any more of my time arguing about a bad meal & leave. I also ordered some summer rolls with pork & shrimps...Im not even gonna bother reviewing this abysmal appetizer! The large bowl was $10...definitely overpriced for such a subpar dish! Same goes for the rolls that cost $6. This review will serve as my displeasure & disappointment. This resto being located in el Segundo is a saving grace for its business because it would not survive long in Little Saigon!

This is a great high end Vietnamese restaurant. You can get traditional dishes here that you will be used to ordering at other Vietnamese restaurants, but the menu had different offerings I had to try them. I recommend the shaky shaky beef and ‘xoi’ sticky rice. The dishes are served family style so you can share with family or a group. I had some small wait time issues on my visit (nothing too bad) but, I definitely will be coming back.

Looking for a great sandwich? This is the place. Rinaldis is consistently delicious. Every sandwich I tried is really good, and ordering the same one again is consistent to the one before. I always get a large because I think I will eat half and then the other half later, but its hard to stop eating, its so good.Over time, Ive had the Fireman, Godfather, Reuben, Turkey Meatballs and Beadnik Basil Pesto Chicken. The fireman is pastrami with pickles, mustard and cheese. Yum! Godfather looks more like an open faced sandwich. Its blanketed with melted cheese. After you eat it, you are super happy and need a nap.I recommend doing your best in saving some of the meatball sub for later. After it sits and the bread soaks up even more of the sauce, it becomes this mushy extra layer, but the bread itself holds up/you can still pick it up without making too much of a mess. The Reuben is a light version of the Fireman. It comes on Rye bread. Super good!Beadnik Basil Pesto Chicken has a generous layer of pesto, without overpowering the chicken and mixed with the cheese its a sandwich version of Chicken Pesto Alfredo pasta. The chips selection is excellent.
Mendocino Farms
840 S Sepulveda Blvd, El Segundo, CA 90245, United States
Big Mendo Fan here, I attended one of the soft openings yesterday. I had spotted this Mendo when I was at the soft opening for Hopdoddy right across from each other. Psyched as usual! Ive always been a big fan because the quality ingredients they use here are top notch and if you want to Eat Happy, you would do a LOT of substituting. :) Yes, you can build your own but I just like to confuse the BOH workers because I used to be one of them!Of course, 2 things had changed since I was at the last Mendo. The Ham and Cheese is no longer on the menu and neither is the Cranberry Walnut bread. ????? Booo....but I am sure they are doing this because they want to introduce other sandwiches. In the past year, Ive noticed they did away with the paper ordering as well.Last night, they were out of lemonade too, my kids were not too happy but I asked for a side of a kids strawberry and they were fine with that.As for the sandwiches, Ive almost had them all. I usually like to get the a variation of the Farm Club. Why? Because the Avo chunks are fresh, the bacon is thick and crunchy, and the Turkey is moist.Parking here can be a pain at night. As more and shops enter here, The Point will really need to do something about it because they are running out of spaces. Ive also witnessed people making U turns prior to Rosecrans if you were going South on Sepulveda. So anyways, Congrats on anothe Mendo location, keep making your sandwiches but please dont take away the good ones anymore!

Pleasant restaurant complex with a nice variety from Italian to Vietnamese. Kids would like the central park area.
Veggie Grill
720 S Allied Way, El Segundo, CA 90245, United States
Its not often that you come across a dining experience so compelling that it warrants frequent revisits. However, when it comes to Veggie Grill, the phenomenon is all too familiar. I find myself once again penning a glowing review, suffused with nothing less than five-star praise.Their menu is a paradise for plant-based food lovers. Its an eclectic collection of mouth-watering dishes that successfully bridge the gap between health and gastronomic indulgence. Among the impressive roster, three items unequivocally steal the show: Buffalo Wings, Buffalo B Wing Salad, and Crispy Cauliflower.A visit to Veggie Grill is incomplete without indulging in their Buffalo Wings. One bite of this delicious creation, and it becomes clear that flavor is no stranger to these wing wonders. The tantalizing buffalo sauce combined with the perfectly crispy wings encapsulates an addictive savor thats difficult to resist.Moving on to the Buffalo B Wing Salad, its a testament to how a salad can be both nutrition-packed and flavor-rich. The buffalo wings beautifully mingle with the salad greens, while the zesty dressing provides the right punch of tanginess, keeping you captivated bite after bite. Finally, their Crispy Cauliflower is a dish that plays with textures in the most exciting way. The gentle crunch of the cauliflower, perfectly balanced with its tender heart, all encapsulated in a crispy, golden-brown exterior, is a delightful journey for the palate. Its been said that addictions can seldom be good, but Veggie Grill might just be the exception. Their unflinching commitment to quality, combined with an innovative approach to plant-based cuisine, creates a food experience thats easy to fall in love with, over and over again. So, here I am, extolling the virtues of Veggie Grill once more. I find solace in the fact that my affection for this place is shared by many. If this is an addiction, its certainly one I am willing to embrace, for it offers comfort, taste, and the joy of relishing food thats as healthy as it is delectable.
Whole Foods Market
760 S Sepulveda Blvd, El Segundo, CA 90245, United States
I had a horrific experience a few days before Thanksgiving!!!!!!I bought my Thanksgiving dinner through the Whole Foods website, set to be picked up at the El Segundo location. Due to my work and LA traffic I was not able to make the pick-up slot before they closed the store. I figured where is the bird going to go!? Having already paid for it I thought Id pick it up the next morning. The following day I go to the store as early as I can to pick up my Holiday meal, only to be told that my order was no longer available for pick-up. It was bizrre because nowhere in their confirmation email did it state the restrictions of my pick-up date. Mind you, Im at the store less than 24 hours after my scheduled time, plus my order was paid for. At first the ladies at the pick-up tent seemed willing to fullfill my order until they talked to the guy who said was the manager. I explained my situation to him and he told me that they couldnt fulfill the order and to take it up with customer service because the order was made online. He seemed very surprised when I told him that my order was already paid for, I asked where would the order go? Wouldnt you still have it in the store? He said that they put it back on the shelves and coudnt retireve it...which seemed like a BS excuse because they are... a grocery store. So I asked for a refund and he said NO! Thanksgiving was right around the corner and this manager (or assistant to the regional manager.. The Office joke) was denying me my holiday meal, which was already paid for. He also denied me a refund! It was the first Thanksgiving we celebrated with the family since the pandemic and wanted less cooking and more time together. Never will I be buying my holiday meal at Whole Foods specifically at El Segundo location. Thanks to the so called manager Moses.
