Ph Lotus Vietnamese Restaurant
9600 Bruceville Rd, Elk Grove, CA 95757, United States
The best pho restaurant in Elk Grove and a contender for best pho in the Sacramento area. I usually judge pho places by a series of things, and this place has far exceeded them. The service is as expected of any Vietnamese restaurant. Warm and inviting ma & pa style of place with family style seating. Water and tea are filled quite often, and the staff are rather courteous, although dont expect them to have an extensive English vocabularyThe extras are all there: bean sprouts, basil, jalapeños, limes, red sauce brown sauce, you name it, its there, and theyll provide more if you request it. We requested an extra bowl with soup and they happily obliged, which is a neat touchThe pho itself is ridiculously rich. Im assuming its from a beef bone based broth because there are lots of complex beef flavors even before adding any extras. The meat is standard fair and adds some texture and buttery flavor if you add some fatty flanks. All in all, you can pit this against most revered San Jose pho establishments (which is saying a lot), and you should make a trip here when youre in the area.

Extreme wait times, be ready. In the time it took for our food to come, I could have gone out to Anh Dao and probably be done eating. Not only that they got one of the orders wrong when we only had 2 people eating. We didnt want to wait any longer so we just took it. Also be ready to be nickle and dimed, they charge extra for condiments that is free every place else. Onion in vinegar (hành dấm) 65 cents extra, scallion oil (hành trần nước béo) another 65 cents. The chicken pho is good but then again its supposed to be the same recipe as Anh Dao so thats expected. If youre not adverse to driving out to Stockton Blvd, then go to Anh Dao instead for the chicken pho. If looking for beef pho theres Pho Le. This feels like Anh Dao from 10 years ago, bad service and long wait times.
Pho Ivy

Pho Ivy is fairly new pho restaurant located in Elk Grove; however, dont let its short history fool you, Pho Ivy delivers flavorful Vietnamese cuisine to anyone with a hungry stomach. Pho Ivy prides itself in its use of spices including sumac, tumeric, cumin, and zaatar to elevate the flavor and taste of their food.Their menu includes a variety of noodle soup dishes with both rice and egg noodle options, which I have found is somewhat unique as not all restaurants will offer egg noodle options as well. They also have a selection of banh mi and rice plates if youre looking for something different to try. They offer both dine-in and take-out options; however, keep in mind if youd like to take their pho to-go you can only order their large size (not that that should dissuade you, once you get a taste of their food youll want to order their large size). Upon entering you can order either at the counter before taking a seat, or at your table, whichever is easier for you. We elected to order at the counter, and then find our seats.Recently, Ive been a chicken pho fiend after I tried a friends homemade recipe, which immediately led me to questioning all my life decisions and wondering why I hadnt tried chicken pho previously - which then led me to sample the chicken pho here. As much as I enjoy the beef-based broth more commonly featured in pho, theres something about the lighter, yet equally complex, flavor of chicken that drew me in, and has since held me in its grip since then (I suspect it may be possible that the lighter broth doesnt make me as full as quickly, so Im able to eat more noodles, which is a win in my book). Im happy to report back that their chicken pho is absolutely delectable and I would definitely go back for it. That being said, their beef-based pho is equally as good, so you really cant go wrong with any of their pho offerings here.If youre looking for Vietnamese cuisine in the Elk Grove area, then I highly recommend giving Pho Ivy a try!

Ive tried couple of Vietnamese restaurants in the area and in my opinion, this place has many delicious dishes which keeps me coming back for more. The place is not really newly decorated, but the staffs are nice. I truly recommend this restaurant.
Pho Bistro

Finally a good Pho, Hu Tieu and Bun Bo Hue restaurant. If you dont know what those items are... then shame on you! lol. Those are the top 3 noodles in the Vietnamese culture and its all flavorfully packed into one restaurant! What more can you ask for in Elk Grove??? When eating at a restaurant, if the menu is small, that means they focus their energy and time into a very narrow list of specialty items. Thats what makes this place a gem in my book. I highly recommend this restaurant.

I will never visit this establishment again. It was date night and we were getting a snack before going to the movies. We ordered fry chicken wings, pork skewers and two drinks to go. We paid and the cashier said itll be ready in 10 minutes, which worked for us, it was 3:20 and the movie started at 3:45. At 3:43, I went to the counter to inquire about our food, the cashier went to the restaurant side and told a gentleman (Im being nice) something, he came to the counter and said that our food was almost done. I told him that we were told 10 minutes, 20 minutes ago, he started laughing and said, it hasnt been 20 minutes, I told him that there was nothing funny and to check our receipt time, he looked and asked the cashier if this is it, she said yes, then he spoke to her in Vietnamese, I asked him to say it in English, he claimed that he was asking her about the receipt (they had just had that conversation in English). He disputed our wait after seeing that we paid at 3:20 and it was 3:43 (my calculations said it was already 23 minutes). We openly thought about asking for a refund, and all of a sudden our food was ready. I will never visit this establishment again!

I had not been here before and was leary about the choices especially since I basically have to eat a low carb diet right now. Luckily I was able to get them to serve the clay pot without the rice and vegetables I dont like. And then it was perfect. So I can definitely come here again.I was with a group of 8 ladies around 4PM and we all asked for separate checks. I noticed the 18 % tip was already in the bill but I have heard of other restaurants doing the same when you have a group so I wasnt surprised. Especially when you consider its more work for them. The restaurant was not crowded at that hour and we saw the staff eating so it was a good time for them to do so. All in all the service was great. Quick and personable. They were patient with us too. Kinda cute decor with all those bamboo up front and iconic statues up at the counter. They had Wonton Soup on the menu which I recognize and apparently a pork chop plate my friend had. The pork chops were thin but huge. In fact we all took leftovers home so sizeable portions. They had Pho and Oxtail Soup. There were many different choices on the menu just I didnt know what they were exactly. You would have to check it out yourself. The value was great as it was about about $17 all told and since it was enough for 2 meals.

Food is so good compared to other Vietnamese restaurants in the area. Highly recommend Btun Bo Hue and the Taro salad, Broiled pork is good, too. Price is very reasonable. Will come back again since its close to my house
