Pho La Jolla
3211 Holiday Ct, La Jolla, CA 92037, United States
Unfriendliness and poor customer service has ALWAYS been present at this restaurant, but tonight it plain old went too far. As a representative of the customer delivery drivers deserve the same amount of respect and smile as customers. We trust them to have the correct food items packaged in the customers order without question, that same level of trust should be applied to drivers. Trust is a 2 way street. There is no room for them thinking they are superior or in charge of us. The older man owner/manager is rude to food delivery drivers, forcing them to show him their phone when it is an unnecessary and completely redundant step, exclusive to this restaurant, not a required part of our job. Ive already confirmed for them that I am the proper delivery person by knowing the customers name, same EVERY OTHER RESTURANT IN UTC. When our phone batteries are dying, and were waiting 10 mins plus for an order, the last thing we want to do is give our phone to a stranger. Id long sense resigned to having to show him my phone after being annoyed by his time wasting and consuming persistence, costing us drivers precocious additional time to be able to make more than 1 delivery an hr due to customers never being at the location they specify when we arrive. They say meet outside yet take 10 mins to arrive after we do. Because of this, we rarely make minimum wage. if they were present on time upon our arrival we would. This last time, I showed the man my order when he asked, so he could see the name, then I turned the screen off to save battery, then unneeded, yet he continued to demand it. I had already confirmed the order orally before this. In the end he would not give my customers order, no matter how long I showed him all the ordered information for on my phone. Immature, unable to let go of his personal vendetta, unprofessional man. None of the other employees who work there need to see the customers orders on my phone. They have the curtesy of trust and respect which I can find at most UTC restaurants. I will never walk into his place again, after delivering from here for 5-6 years.

H2 Foot Spa & Massage
3251 Holiday Ct #203, La Jolla, CA 92037, United States
I enjoying going to this spa. It is near my house which is very convenient. I have probably been here about 15 times over 3 years. This spa is so clean and well maintained. The owner is very nice and friendly and greets everyone in a way to make you feel happy and special. This is a great way to start a message service. My favorite service is the foot reflexology. I have also done full body massages which have been fabulous too but the foot reflexology is what I like best. I don’t request anyone in particular and every therapist I have had has been very professional and trained well. There is relaxing soft music playing and a warm blanket over your body while you drift off into a deep relaxation makes you feel well cared for. I highly recommend this spa for the quality of the service provided but also the price. It is very very reasonable especially for La Jolla. There is easy parking in the center and it is right near a great Vietnamese restaurant if you feel like a bowl of pho after! This handy spa is just off the interstate 5 off the La Jolla Village Drive exit so you don’t have to drive into La Jolla village at all. There are a lot of shops around such as Whole Foods, Nordstrom Rack and Marshall’s. Good luck and I know you will enjoy your service.

Qin West Noodle
4353 La Jolla Village Dr, San Diego, CA 92122, United States
No service for dine in at all. At least half an hour wait and need to wipe the desk by ourselves. The worst thing is after waiting, the food has 50% frequency too salty or no salt at all. I am not a picky eater and can handle other restaurants I have been to in UTC, ranging from Italian, chinese, urban plates, vietnamese, Japanese, hot pot etc and I myself is a cook and was a lover for qin west at LA before the pandemic. But this qin west really performs bad, and has used up my love for qin west. Will never eat at this place again.

The Flower Pot Cafe and Bakery
7530 Fay Ave, La Jolla, CA 92037, United States
UPDATE: unfortunately, dropping from 5 stars to 3. As of Oct 2022, have visited their new official location several times. The staff was really nice, & I love the cute decor etc, but for some reason the drip coffee (just black) doesn't taste as good as it did at the Lot / the OG Pannikin. Not smooth like before. Also the bathroom is a hot mess :(———————————Below was my review for the Lot location:As of this review (Jul 2022), the temporary pop-up location for the new Pannikin is at The Lot! It's in the outside seating area (if you walk towards the bar youll see it). They said they should be moved in to their new location across the street at 7530 Fay by end of August :)We came on a Sunday around 4pm, and they said theyre open until 10pm, so thats awesome theyre open late (at least at this pop-up location!).I was being super indecisive, but was given suggestions and the girl helping me was super nice! I didnt want something too caffeinated, so she made me a Lavender Summer (but less sugary, since I dont like super sugary drinks). It was tart and refreshing! Thankfully there was no line, so my indecisiveness wasnt holding anyone up...?I also ordered a pastry (blueberry banana nut muffin), and she said the most popular bakery items here are:- Raspberry scone- Blueberry scone- Raisin date walnut- Blueberry banana nutMy friend got regular hot coffee, he confirmed it tastes the same as the hot coffee at the old Pannikin haha.I am glad The Lot let them temporarily post up here, Pannikin was probably the most beloved coffee place in La Jolla, so disappearing forever was not an option!

A little confused by the experience we had here tonight. Short and sweet version: Do not get the duck bao bao buns. Do get the sushi. Do get the garden party ramen. Expect slow service if you're a small table.Everything started well: We were seated quickly on arrival by the excellent hostesses. That's when things went a little off the rails. After we were seated, we waited for about 10–15 minutes to order drinks. We also ordered a round of the bao bao buns. I can't speak to the other types of bao bao buns they have available but I ordered duck and it was, unfortunately, very bad. The duck was very tough, almost like a jerky, and the tender layer of fat that normally surrounds the duck meat had become rubbery. This was very sad and it was the state of both of my bao bao buns. While the bao bao buns were not good, the sushi roll we ordered was fantastic. Fresh, light, perfectly balanced. It was everything sushi should be. We had the Marine Boy roll and I would recommend it to anyone. Their sushi chef is clearly very skilled.I also ordered the garden party vegan ramen. The broth on this ramen was stellar. It reminded me of my favorite paitan broth from home. It was very creamy and flavorful. The vegetables served with the ramen complemented the broth and the spinach noodles were very good. The only thing I was not happy with was the tofu. It was very bland. It surprised me because the broth was so flavorful and every other element was so delicious that the phoned-in tofu situation was unexpected. It tasted like they basically took the tofu directly out of the package, sliced it, and let the broth warm it without giving the tofu any love. The kitchen was very fast and overall their flavors were on point, so the primary sticking point was the service. Our table was often ignored for larger tables and at one point we did need to get up and request additional service. It seems like speed of service is based on your estimated bill.

Living Room Coffeehouse La Jolla

I like the Living Room a lot for the hookah lounge portion of the business. I am quite new as far as being a customer goes, and so far I am really enjoying their services and products offered! The lounge I used to go to has permanently shut down and I am in search of a new lounge that I can go to that I can study at, hang out at, etc. and so far the Living Room has not disappointed me at all!I am a very picky hookah smoker and they have accommodated me greatly so far when I have come in to smoke. They dont have a super large variety of sheesh available, but they definitely have the popular one available! They offer Starbuzz Tobacco, Al Fakher, and Fumari (which is based out of San Diego!)They currently do not offer the chance for you to have milk added on to the base of your hookah, which is fairly understandable, it gets messy and it takes longer to fully clean and sanitize the hookah after it has been used. But their hookahs have been hitting great every time I have come in, with just water in the base! They also offer two different types of coals for the hookah when you place your order, or if you want to switch while you are there. They offer Quick Light coals and Coconut based coals. I prefer the coconut based coals because they burn cleaner essentially. There isnt any nasty after smell to them when they are lit, unlike the quick light coals- or at least that is what I have noticed with the quick light coals.Another great aspect about the Living Room is that they offer a full menu for food, they have a good selection of coffees and teas available for hot drinks, and a good Wine & Beer menu as well! I really enjoyed their house Sauvignon Blanc when I ordered a glass, if I remember correctly it was a Robert Mondavi Sauvignon Blanc, highly recommended if you like white wines! (A GREAT PLUS to the wine that I ordered was that they brought it out to me CHILLED!)The only thing that I am a little unsure about currently is the actual pricing for their hookahs, it has been a little pricier than what I previously paid for at a different lounge, but it is not a deterrent for me so far!I would highly recommend giving the Living Room a chance if you feel like visiting! The staff is very friendly and will do their best to make sure you are comfortable and happy with your order!EDIT: If you dont mind waiting for basically forever for services on the weekends, then no worries. I would not suggest going to the Living Room on the weekends if you are looking for somewhat fast service. I requested a refill and waited close to thirty minutes, I then notified another employee about the fact that I had ordered one and have been waiting thirty minutes. He promptly returned with my refill and was very kind and professional about it all. Also the noise level is absurd on the weekends, you have to yell to the person literally right next to you. You could practically be in their lap and still have to yell to barely hear each other.

Dodo Bird Donuts
369 Bird Rock Ave, La Jolla, CA 92037, United States
If you like overpriced donuts, pretentious menu items like bone broth (you mean soup? at a donut shop?), and inexplicable donut policies like We only have one flavor of donut on Wednesdays, then you have come to the right place. And after spending $20 on two coffees and two donuts, I myself felt like a dodo. The interior reminded me of Palm Springs, and the coffee was really good. However, there was absolutely no selection of donuts--it being a Wednesday and all--but I guess I know better now than to expect this donut place to have a regular selection of donuts all days of the week. The donut I had was tasty but super small, and I couldnt bring myself to spend $4 more (plus tip) on another tiny donut that should usually cost $1 or $2 in Portland, OR, which many consider to be the Napa Valley of donuts. But were not in Portland, were in Bird Rock where flocks of other dodos like us feel fine spending all that money on two donuts and two coffees. At least that seems to be the expectation of the owners at Dodo Bird Donuts. Im aware that new businesses operate in the red in their first few years and mistakes get made, but I hope they do better.
