Unassuming Vietnamese restaurant. Overall the food is good, but not mind blowing. The soup of the pho (which I use to judge) is a bit too watery or bland. The noodles arent special either. It is a good bowl, just nothing screaming. The overall feeling of the food is family style. It reminds you a lot of how mothers might cook and feed their child, rather than a commerical venture.Spring rolls and egg rolls are great. The grilled pork was tender and juicy as well.Dont come here looking for bespoke Vietnamese food. Do come here for a good hearty meal.

My wife and I have been eating at Saigon 2 for over 2 years on a bi-monthly basis. This little restaurant is a hidden gem in San Leandro. Our favorite items are the Vietnamese crepe and Beef Salad, but note the Vietnamese crepes are only available on the weekends. Prices wise is very fair for the food quality. The restaurant doesnt look like much but they make it up in food. We definitely recommend this restaurant if you want a quick bite, but we do want to let u know that the restrooms are a bite dated and dirty at times.

Shocking to see this place is still in business, it’s embarrassing to consider this a Vietnamese restaurant. Embarrassing to even mention this place to your friends/ family when they coming to visit Marina. I’m Coming from a Vietnamese/ American family, my 18 years old niece’s cooking way more better than this restaurant. I gave this restaurant a second chance to visit again last week since I saw some ok reviews. My 6 years old nephew said their Pho tasted like soy sauce with hot water. I have to say I am done with this restaurant. Their menu got more pricey but the food quality remain awful. Very disappointed

This is not an authentic Vietnamese restaurant. no charcoal BBQ meat rice plate. It serves spicy Korean BBQ sauce meat rice plate but called them Vietnamese meat rice plate. Not condensed milk ice French coffee. It serves fast food restaurant cold regular coffee. Vietnamese soup noodle is so so with very small portion, better than order extra large size. service/staff is ok but does not know what the real Vietnamese food is. It is a American Chinese/Vietnamese fusion chop suey restaurant.

Not authentic at all to me. Very disappointing. Americanized Vietnamese food served in smaller portions than real Vietnamese restaurants for higher prices. I think they are trying to pull a Slanted Door, but for lunch. Raise the price, make it slightly bland. Use pretty plates and people will think it is cuisine.

Love it, absolutely love Off the Grid. The entire concept, everything.*** Really Liked ***-Aburaya Japanese Fried Chicken - Ordered the 4 piece fried chicken, half with the Aburaya BBQ sauce, and other half with the Japenese Curry dry rub (costs $1 more to split flavors). The BBQ flavor was amazing, the Curry one, not so much, but still so juice and tender. I believe they use chicken thighs and thats how they get their chicken to be so moist and flavorful. You can also ask for rice and greens for extra, but well worth it! Its a lot of food!-Revenge Pies - Ordered the Apple Pie and it was solid. Cinnamony flavored and the apples were cooked perfectly. The crust was bomb as well! A perfectly executed apple pie, and they also put some whipped cream on top as well!*** Did Not Really Enjoy ***-El Porteño Empanadas - Was expecting a juicy beefy taco pocket style empanada but did not get that. The beef one was a bit dry and had too many miscellaneous veggies inside and didnt really taste that hearty to me. The chimichurri sauce was a tad bit too oily as well.-This one Argentina BBQ Skewer place (totally forgot the name) - The skewers were salty af...they ran out of flavors (it was barely 8pm... and the chicken was super dry as well, totally nuked out overcooked...wish I remembered the name...total disappointment!Off the Grid happens every Friday during the non-winter months from 5:00p-10:00p. A MUST try!! They also serve alcoholic drinks!! Beers, wines, cocktails, well drinks, etc.
