Golden Deli Temple City
9664 Las Tunas Dr, Temple City, CA 91780, United States
To the owner of Golden Deli of Temple City: You just lost a potential frequent customer! By far, this is the worst customer service we've ever experienced coming straight from the owner of a restaurant. An owner like you will not be in business for long!We ordered over the phone and the girl who took our order seemed new and inexperienced and sure enough got our order wrong. We ordered egg noodles with our soup and not rice noodles. We didn't find out about it until my husband brought the order home at which point I phoned the girl to let her know about the wrong order. I then told her that we were fine with keeping what we ordered, but if I could please just have my husband pick up the egg noodles to replace the rice noodles, and she completely agreed to it.When my husband drove back, the owner gave him a hard time telling him to bring back the entire order, or he insisted that we pay extra for the egg noodles! My husband explained to him that we do not live close to Golden Deli and how ridiculous it was for him to request that he drive back home to get the food. We did not want to replace the entire soup order, just the noodles! Was the owner planning on taking the rice noodles and reusing them in someone else's soup???? The owner still refused to replace the noodles even if his worker took the wrong order. I also spoke to the owner over the phone to explain to him that the girl took a wrong order and that she agreed to my husband returning for just the egg noodles. The owner was VERY rude in his reponse to me! I told him we were not returning and his was response was “Good, we don't want you back!” UNBELIEVABLE! How does your business survive? How can you treat your customers like that? That is just so wrong!Business owners like you will never succeed. I am in total agreement with one of the bad reviews of this restaurant dated 01/13/2014. It pointed out that, “you can only go so far with your food before people stop showing up because of poor customer service.” Owner of Golden Deli: For the horrible customer service you provided us and for the morally unacceptable person that you are, we pray you go out of business soon!

Summer Rolls
5728 Rosemead Blvd #100, Temple City, CA 91780, United States
Summer Roll in Temple City has recently reopened its main dining room after three years of offering only take-out service. The menu is still as extensive as before with some exciting new additions. During a recent visit, I had the pleasure of trying out three dishes, including the signature dish Nam, Banh Mi sandwich, and Grill Pork with Broken Rice and Steamed Egg.The Nam dish is still as delicious as before, with a crispy skinny egg roll inside. However, the standout dish for me was the Grill Pork with Broken Rice. The pork was well seasoned and incredibly tasty. It was undoubtedly my favorite dish.I also had the opportunity to speak with the owner, who has been running the restaurant for a long time. He was very friendly and clearly puts his heart into the food. He created a delectable special sandwich that was out of this world. Instead of using the traditional French baguette bread, he used Italian ciabatta to add more texture to the sandwich. The sandwich included trimming eggs and their signature Nam, and it was truly heavenly.I was pleasantly surprised to see that the prices have remained pretty much the same as before the pandemic. The lunch and dinner hours are always busy, so I recommend getting there early to secure your table.Even without my recommendation, this restaurant is already well known with a reputation for good Vietnamese food. I would still highly recommend Summer Roll in Temple City for anyone looking for authentic and delicious Vietnamese cuisine. The reopening of their main dining room has only made the dining experience better, and I cant wait to go back and try more dishes on their menu.

Dai Ho Restaurant

For all the hype surrounding Dai Ho, I left the restaurant underwhelmed. I think they get better press than the overall quality and quantity of food that they serve. Theyre known as the top restaurant to get cold noodles and dan dan mian, but I really dont understand why. I actually have been hearing good things since college, but because the hours are so limited and there are days when Dai Ho isnt open, I didnt get a chance to catch them at the right time. But when I was working, my boss brought their cold noodles for my co-workers and me and it was good - when are cold noodles not good? - but nothing out of the park. It was actually quite ordinary. There isnt anything to go along with that $5 cold noodles (all they give you is peanut sauce, garlic sauce, and hot sauce) and some sliced cucumber or something. Sinbala, A&J, even Bean Sprouts had more interesting and tasty cold noodles than Dai Ho. And all I could taste afterwards was the garlic taste in my mouth the rest of the day. Meh, I really love cold noodles, but I dont think I would get it from Dai Ho on a regular basis. If you want to add things to your food, you can order specialty side dishes that come prepackaged on top of their refrigerator in the store. Seriously ... around $9 for bean curd, green onion, cilantro, and some slices of beef. Was it worth it? Nope. Was it good? Meh. When we came another time, the woman actually encouraged us to order some spicy type of bean curd, pork and jalapenos because she had made it special for a customer and had extras for the restaurant. That was $9 and did not taste good.Ive tried their beef noodle soup, which was proclaimed as one of SGVs top beef noodle soup restaurants but I was completely underwhelmed. While the noodles were good and there was a good amount of beef, I didnt like the broth too much. It was a little too spicy for my liking and I like spicy foods. Their dan dan mian was just okay for me, but Im generally not a fan of dan dan mian.Overall, you can expect a wait if youre dining in the restaurant. There are only a few tables, and despite how quickly the kitchen works at getting your food out, the wait can range from 10 to 30 minutes. Parking lot in the back, but it fills up fast, so try to find street parking if possible. Cash only!tl;dr overall, just a meh for me. Didnt find anything outstanding about the food here and I dont think Id come back if I knew there was a wait for a table.

Its my first time here, let me talk about my feelings in various aspects.First of all, the front design of the restaurant has the feeling of a deep house, especially the tall and closed door. When you open it and enter, the bright outdoor light contrasts sharply with the dim light indoors, causing short-term visual discomfort. The water curtain 3D light show designed at the entrance is very stylish and sets off the design of the entire restaurant environment. But it is very dim. There is a vertical direct light above each table, and there is basically no other lighting system. Although it makes people feel very designed, it has a very strong business restaurant style. There are scattered seats in the middle, and there are private rooms all around. This time I chose a private room for 8 people. The space is not large. The interior decoration and the bonsai sketches on the table are simple and elegant. The tableware is also very particular, with two pairs of chopsticks per person, wooden and ceramic, one pair of which can be used as serving chopsticks. The arrangement of the dishes is very nice, but it feels a bit like Western food. The only weird thing is that each one didnt come with a matching spoon.Next, let’s talk about the menu. It is said to be a Sichuan restaurant online, but the dishes cover all kinds of cuisines. There is a single recommended menu, which is just a variety of ordinary home-cooked dishes, but many dishes are expensive, such as Anhui stinky mandarin fish for $88, the menu The design of the dishes does not match the environment design of the restaurant.Let’s get back to the subject, let’s talk about each dish. I ordered a total of eight dishes. Since the menu is very ordinary traditional home-cooked dishes, I ordered them as home-cooked dishes, and deliberately did not choose seafood.1. The Shanghai local smoked fish as a cold dish is good in color, appearance and taste. It relatively restores the sweet and salty taste of Shanghai local cuisine. It is highly recommended.2. Mapo tofu comes on a large plate. The color and appearance are good, but the plate has another mystery. It is very shallow and has a thin layer of tofu. Although the red oil and thickener look good, the taste is salty. It doesnt have any fragrance, so its a failure.3. Dongpo elbow, I need to complain about this. The portion was really strong, and the meat was stewed until tender. However, the strong fishy smell of pork in the whole elbow was not handled well, and it was very strong. Secondly, the meat of the whole elbow has no taste, not even salty taste. Except for the spicy toppings on it, the whole elbow has no taste. This dish is a complete failure.4. Shanghai’s eel paste is seasoned very accurately. The only drawback is that the shredded eel is frozen, so the texture and chewiness are a little worse. However, the overall quality of this dish is still good, and it goes well with rice. The chef is very careful when frying it. The control of sugar is more precise, so this dish is recommended.5. The color and appearance of the braised pork are quite good, and the seasoning is also very good. It is fat but not greasy, and the lean meat is not too thick, so it goes well with rice. recommend.6. French low-temperature slow-cooked Sichuan-style beef ribs. The meat is very tender. The texture and fat distribution are very even. It looks like American Wagyu. However, the Vietnamese shrimp skin sprinkled on top has a strong salty smell that takes away the flavor of the beef. Without this, The whole dish was very good. recommend.7. Hand-shredded cabbage is a dish that tests your basic skills. It has a sweet, salty and spicy taste. The cabbage is cut raw and has a crisp texture, which is not bad.8. Braised black cod with thick oily red sauce, it goes very well with rice. If you eat it alone without rice, you will feel a little salty after eating only a few pieces. The overall feeling of the dishes is not amazing, and some individual dishes are quite disappointing.
