Phovorite Vietnamese Kitchen

Reason for visiting: dinner with co workerDate/time of visit: Tuesday night, ~7:00 PMParking: free; shared with adjacent businesses. Can be hard to find parking in the lot; theres street parking if the lot is fullParty size: 2Environment/ambience: small, cozy restaurant. One TV (no sound) with cooking/food type of things on. There is outside seating, 2 tables. Vietnamese restaurant but not Vietnamese owner, FYIService: was good. Came around often. Spoke English so makes things easier. We ordered egg rolls and calamari (initially Phovorite wings but changed our mind) but they accidentally made the wings so we cancelled the calamariFood: was good. I had the Charbroiled Pork chop and a Thai tea, which was pretty good. 3 pieces of pork chop. Thai tea was good too (no boba).Cost: I didnt pay ?but it was ~$80 for 2. Kinda expensive for Pho but the food was good.
Camp Pho

If I can give them 0 stars I would. I did my research on LA Pho and this was so-called the best Pho in the area. When we walked in, we noticed it wasnt authentic Vietnamese but we gave it a shot since the reviews was so good. I ordered the brisket pho with extra briskets and it was not brisket meat. It was chucks of beef roast. Disappointed! Husband ordered the best pho they had and same thing. Disappointed! Overpriced, bland, nasty and powder tasting. Not worth it. We didnt finish it cause it was disgusting. They didnt wash the basils and they didnt give us any chili oil. We were a family group of 4 kids and 2 adults and they automatically charged us for the generosity tip of $20 added into our bill. Tips are supposed to be given if the service and food was great, not forced. Total bill came to $150 for 4 pho, 1 fried rice, burnt eggrolls and some drinks. OVERPRICED for nasty pho. I dont even know how this place even got this much great reviews. I would prefer people eat elsewhere where its authentic Vietnamese restaurant.
My Lai Kitchen - Venice
12222 Venice Blvd., Los Angeles, CA 90066, United States
Really disappointing! First of all, the worker who was making my bowl had horrible hygiene. She was picking up the ingredients with her hands instead of using the tongs in the bowls, and then going and touching her face and other surfaces!!! Really non-hygienic so if you care about those things I don’t recommend coming hereAlso, when I was paying, the price was higher than listed on the menu and when I asked the worker she told me that I should know the real price because they had been changed for a while. I’d never been there before, why would I know that?? And then she refused to honor the price listed. Finally, the food was just really not good. The meat was all fat and gristle, and at 18 dollars for a vermicelli bowl, I would recommend nearly any other Vietnamese restaurant to this

Lokal Sandwich Burger Bar
701 Lincoln Blvd, Venice, CA 90291, United States
Food:Lokal‘a bacon breakfast burritos are absolute FIRE. Omg. It has just the right amount of egg, cheese, potato (not too dry), peppers, bacon, etc.. The tortilla has a littleeee crunch from the grill and doesn't get soggy. The burrito always stays intact which is rare and amazing….. and they are served all day.I also get the Albacore Tuna Melt sometimes which comes on crispy-ish sourdough and is so flavorful, fresh, and absolutely divide. *chefs kiss* Their coffee (I like the cold brew) is awesome as well (and I'm a Starbucks brat).Service: Plus, the staff are so friendly and personable, give you a mom and pop feel. The food comes out SO quickly. They also do take out but again it takes like 2 secs, you may as well order there.Atmosphere: Inside and outside have cute places to sit and eat or study, and it's rarely crowded.Price: That's not even including one of the best parts of Lokal: the REASONABLE PRICES.I come here at LEAST 3x a week and you should too.
Wanderlust Creamery
609 Lincoln Blvd suite b, Venice, CA 90291, United States
One of the true competitors to Salt & Straw of Oregon fame. The flavor at Wanderlust are daring and bold, and they strive for that international flavor profile almost to a point of reach with pandan-flavored cones. Small/shared parking lot with the barber shop, difficult to locate based on navigation (it's directly across from the Smart & Final parking lot), bike racks on the wall kinda look like nooses. The bar seating has purse hooks like a brewery. The bathroom is hidden behind a panel of wall paper, tricky to find.My first time trying Wanderlust creamery was at the Smorgasburg food truck gathering every Sunday from 10am-4pm. We took a broad approach with their ice cream flight and found all the flavors to be pronounced and distinct.Fast-forward to most recent, we went to their shop and was actually confused on the location only to realize it is on a lot to an old garage. The restaurant was brightly lit and the waft of waffle cones were in the air.I encourage people to indulge in their theme and go on an adventure regarding their flavors. None of them are too sweet unless it has something intrinsically sweet, like caramel. The servings were also generous. The cone felt a slight bit soggy or stale, maybe because people shied away from Pandan (too foreign?).

Cashless.Cash isnt just legal tender; its the battle cry for a fairer, more prosperous, and self-determined local economy.Businesses neglecting cashs undeniable merits are fattening the wallets of corporate elites at the expense of our local economy.Society seems content with letting that power slip through their fingers, surrendering it to the digital overlords. Not me, no thank you.Don't even get me started on how Cash is our last remaining sanctuary, protecting sensitive data. The disregard for this security is not just naive; its reckless. When customers pay with cash, banks siphon less off the top compared to electronic payments where the banks get a cut of every single dollar spent. So, why are businesses allowing banks to fatten their wallets at the expense of local economies? Can you say Absentee owner?Cash is a LEGAL tender by government decree under the Coinage Act of 1965- Yet, businesses, like THIS are blinded by convenience, often disregard its prowess. Its high time we shed light on the unignorable advantages of cash and why its neglect is, frankly, maddening.
Nighthawk Breakfast Bar
417 Washington Blvd, Venice, CA 90292, United States
At first glance -- youll probably not notice where Nighthawk Breakfast Bar is. If you look closely enough its hidden in The Restaurant Sadie. Youll then be greeted by an awesome doorman - and be asked what business you have -- the answer is Nighthawk. This place is amazing. Seriously amazing. The ambiance and music and the food (damn the food is delicious) and the drinks (youll want to try them all) all of it works. For its first opening night (160115) - it was crowded but still enjoyable. Everyone in there seemed to be having a jolly time / with the live music playing and people just enjoying each others company.Youll be greeted by friendly waiters/waitresses but if youre lucky youll meet Patrick the GM -- hes really chill and will definitely take care of you and get you seated in a timely manner. Our waitress Monika --- AWESOME!! Got our orders and was there to take care of us the whole evening. The food -Drunken French Toast - moist and delicious; get it if youre in need of something on the sweet sideBenedict Fries - oh damn, this was perfect in itself. It tasted like a pepperoni cheese pizza with fries and topped with a fried egg--the perfection!Tower OBacon with a side of beer - candied bacon that hits both your savory and sweet palates at the same time & paired with a beer to make it oh so fancy.Chicken & Biscuits- oh damn the chefs in the back cooking this novelty item at Nighthawk. This was delicious as well and you could tell as we scraped every single piece of chicken / biscuit / gravy down our hatch to savor the yumminess that it is.Onto the booze!!!Their specialty is definitely the #SpikedCerealMilk - drinking two of these baddies is just so decadent. I was able to get the Cocao - Brandy masterpiece and drank it like a happy kid who was given their favorite candy. Slurp slurp slurp -- got seconds and was about to try the Fruity - Gin concoction but the waitress sadly said they had sold out. (This just means Im coming back again)Next tried their #JuliusMaximus drinks and got The OG and it was amazing --- smoothie with alcohol that is reminiscent of breakfast for champions lolThen ended the evening with a duo taste of Irish Coffee and the Oaxacan Coffee both having a distinctive taste that are perfect for coffee drinkers that like a little kick to their coffees. To end my rant - this place deserves all the hype its going to get from today onwards. A bar that highlights breakfast as its mainstay theme is just wonderful. I will definitely be returning here to try the rest of the #spikedcerealmilk and get seconds on the food.
