I love, love, LOVE Couwamis vegetarian Orange Chicken! It is gluten-based. I generally ask the chef to cook it lightly so the texture is softer since Ive had it the general way they prepare it and found it to be too rubbery. The orange sauce is ama-Za-Zing! Very vinegar-esque, if you try to breathe it in, itd take your breath away! The sauce is slightly spicy, but more tart, yet somehow sweet all at the same time. It is VERY good and just in case you like Pandas Orange Chicken, Couwamis Orange sauce is along the same lines. I also almost always order Couwamis Braised String Beans, without any meat, which is FULL of flavor and has a very proteinous flavor to/about it- the first time I ordered it, I was shocked at its fantastic flavors for there not being any meat inside the dish whatsoever! If you like fresh green beans and bold flavor, I would definitely recommend at least giving the Braised String Beans a chance. The food is worth it! Just remember that!

The food was OK. The meat was a little over cooked. I think the protein was cut before it was grilled. They should do what Yoshinoya does, grill then cut. With the larger surface area, it wont dry out so quickly.Their dumplings are basically pot stickers. To cook pot stickers, you fry them steam. Since there was char on the skin but no crunch, I would assume that they were cooked ahead of time and reheated. Potter stickers needs that crispy bottom. Since they have a grill, they could steam the dumpling ahead of time. Then grill them to order. That would give the dumplings the crispy bottom it badly needs

*Waba Response does not help* the portion size isn't fair. i go to the waba in Walnut and they actually use the whole bowl for the food. this location has a strong grip on the food for some reason. in photo i moved the chicken to one side to pour sauce on rice and with other locations i can barely put the chicken to one side. with this one, well u can see. i keep making the mistake to go to this location for convenience. next time i'll drive the extra three miles to go to walnut location for better fair portions. At walnut i can barely see the rice underneath. Amar location is BAD*waba response* they still made it very difficult to leave contact info. they're lying to make themselves look ‘accountable' no option to leave contact and when i do, i get email saying that isn't the way to contact them HAHA

Went on a Tuesday night around 8pm. Food was done quick, hot food, and tasted good. Service was great. Dulce even checked up on everyone inside while everyone was eating like a restaurant. My wife forgot her purse there and we went back Wednesday morning and Dulce was there. She immediately was happy to see my wife remembered her from night before and gave my wife her purse. Thank you Dulce for the great customer service and saving my wifes purse for us to come back and get. Completely made our week. Waba grill give this worker a raise as she definitely deserves it. Thank you again Dulce!!!!!

I was very impressed with this restaurant. What a great surprise to have an Asian fusion restaurant right across the street from your home. Food was awesome! They were very generous with their portions and food was incredible! Will go back for sure!!!

Where do I start? I hate having to give 1-star reviews, but there were just too many red flags during my visit that cant be ignored.Tried going to this place for the first time for brunch and it ended up being a regrettable and forgettable experience.I put my name in for a table for two just 25 mins after they opened and waited the same amount of time just to be seated when the restaurant was only 15% full...so why did we wait so long? When I walked in to be seated, even though I counted 4-5 waiting staff walking or standing around near the entrance, apparently theres a rule that only the hostess can seat customers. So we lost another 5-7 minutes waiting for that. Luckily, the hostess and the waitress we got were both very kind and attentive, so they shouldnt get any of the blame here. After being seated, we ordered our drinks and food right away just because we knew what we wanted to have. We ordered a mimosa breakfast sampler, ribeye and chilaquiles plate, and the clandestino breakfast plate. While waiting for the food, the chips they brought us were mushy and lacked any flavor. A different male server came out and dropped off more drinks and napkins and didnt say a word. We were thinking are they not allowed to communicate with customers because they arent waiters? Like...who does that? The mimosas tasted completely watered down and lacked any unique flavor. Had to ask for napkins and silverware and salt & pepper instead of it just being brought over as soon as we sat down. When the actual food came out, we had more issues. Half of the ribeye steak was all fat, and Im not talking about just around the edges, it was literally half of the entire steak. The chilaquiles were bland, the two eggs looked more like one egg, and the French toast was average. For spending that kind of change on the meal we expected more. They share the parking lot with Smart & Final, so even though we didnt have trouble parking because it was early, I can see why others complain. You have to end up parking on the street or even worse, across the street if things are really busy because their parking lot is too small. The only real positive was the music and the company I was eating with. For a place with a higher than average price tag for food, an attempt at a high end feel judging by their neon signs and modern attempt at decor, and an added outdoor patio section thats really only there because the inside is too small, I felt it fails on many different levels.I wont be going back and wouldnt recommend others to go either, its really not worth it.
Cha Cafe
10308 Lower Azusa Rd, El Monte, CA 91731, United States
A bit pricey for what it is. Despite being called Cha Cafe, there is more of an emphasis on mixed fruit drinks and coffee than tea.Food options are your once-a-food-truck-turned-restaurant selection: pan-asian, mexican, and american fusion. Expect BBQ wings in your nachos. If youre in the mood for a step up from those Tea shop snacks (e.g., popcorn chicken), this is where you want to be (more fun after a few drinks!).This place is located in a strip mall, next door to a coin-laundromat. Staff can range from warm to cold in service, depending on the time of day. Their surprising social media presence and stalwart stand at the 626 night market are what most know them for.

Let me tell you something. Just come here. A review wont give you the entire experience of just how AMAZING the food is. Mexican seafood is normally not something I crave so when I tried this place, I didnt expect much. Now its one of my absolute favorite places to go. My sister doesnt even like shrimp but somehow this restaurant was able to convert her.I recommend the ceviche dishes because they are ABSOLUTELY to die for. The best ceviche I have ever had. My mouth waters just thinking about it and I wish I had more!Spiciness Rating: Moderate-HighIf you dont have a tolerance for spicy food, Id stay away from anything that has house spices. I LOVE spicy food and there dishes made me order multiple glasses of water. So be prepared if you want that extra kick, but its definitely worth it! The spiciness of the food doesnt take away from the flavor!Health Rating: Moderate-HighMost hole in the wall Mexican seafood restaurants dont have the freshest fish nor do they have many healthy options. Rest easy knowing that their seafood is fresh and you can definitely taste the quality. I recommend the octopus dishes! They also have vegan options as well so go nuts!Atmosphere: High QualityStepping into the restaurant, youre greeted his with history, culture, and art at a blend of traditional and modern taste. Dining in is a must just to experience all of the beautiful Mexican art work, as well as reading the origin story of the restaurant. I could sit there forever and take in the scenery.Service: Low-ModerateNormally when it comes to my dinning experience, service is 50% of my interest. How often do they come check on your table, do they refill drinks, are they friendly, etc. And when it comes to service, this is the only downside to this restaurant. Whole the servers are friendly, dont expect them to be attendant. Id expect this if a place was busy, but I have been here three separate times with varying levels or business and its still a hassle to get their attention. There were only six tables seated and many servers but it still took multiple times to get a cup of water. Normally thats fine for me but not when my tongue is burning- While I would normally bump a star down for service, I cant do that! My heart and stomach loves the food too much to do this! All in all, definitely try it! I BEG you to try and see for yourself!
