BIG ES TERIYAKI & BURGERS
2111 San Gabriel Blvd G, Rosemead, CA 91770, United States
Crazy menu board that took me while to figure out. Once I did, I decided to try a variety. One of their specials give you an option of two of their faves for $8.88. I went for the Nash, spicy sweet chicken sandwich and teriyaki bowl, with sauce on the siDe only they forgot my side of sauce :(. The bowl itself is actually a pretty large plate, so easy enough for two. Chicken was a bit dry without the sauce, but was pretty tasty. Only wish I had the sauce. I chose cabbage for the side and was simple but good. As for the sandwich, it was pretty aMazing. The chicken was juicy and plump. Hint of both sweet and spicy as advertised. For the price, I give it 10 stars. I've had quite a few spicy chicken sandwiches and paid well over $10, mostly ranging from $12-16, that were not as good. My personal preference would be for spicy only and at a higher heat level, but will try that next time. I also tried a spam musubi which was as expected. Maybe on the pricy side for one piece. Here's the breakdown. The Nash chicken sandwich - 5+ stars. Carried the whole meal.Teriyaki chicken bowl - 3 stars. Tasty but dry and forgot myy sauce on the side. Confident would have been 4 stars with sauce.Spam musubi - 4 stars. Tasted as expected.Price - 5 stars. Enough food for 2-3 people under $15Service - 3 stars. Ok. Seemed annoyed as I was studying the menu, but I had something set going in based on Online menu, but knew they were old and wanted to see what changed and it was a lot. No more curry, which is what i wanted to try. The menu board kept changing too, so took me a while to figure out what I wanted. Anyway, it was just ok.Overall - 4 stars with room to improve for sure
Kami Buffet & Grill
909 San Gabriel Blvd, Rosemead, CA 91770, United States
I just had gotten food for my husband who is disable, uses a cane, and has movement disorder. A hostess, named Sherry, came over and demanded that we vacate the table and to go back to the room assigned to our party. The room was very crowded with family and friends who attended my father in law's funeral. 100 people were expected to come. There was no space for us and our niece had to make room by adding chairs to the last table at the end of the narrow room. We tried sitting there but it was too hard for my husband to walk that far. I explained that to Sherry and since he couldn't get his own food, I wanted him to see what's available and I would get his food for him. This girl was very rude and actually told me that she didn't care if my husband was disable. She then took his food and brought it to a table, near the kitchen door, with one chair. I got so irritated that I lost my appetite. I told my family about the horrific treatment and unfortunately, the bill totaling almost $4,000.00 was already paid. When my son and his cousins got up to leave, this same woman came over and told them to leave as she has customers waiting for their table. They looked around and saw that there were so many empty tables around. When I found out this, I went back and asked for the Manager. When I was speaking to her, Sherry came over and I pointed to the Manager that this was the girl who was so rude to us. This girl flatly denied that she did it. My son who came to get me told her that was the one who told them to get out. She was still arguing while the Manager apologized profusely and had to be told to be quiet. I feel that this is a horrendous way to treat customers especially after spending a large amount of money to a less than satisfactory food and unprofessional staff. This kind of attitude should not be tolerated and management should address their staff on treating customers especially with disabilities with kind and respect. My husband felt defeated when we left and he deserves more than that. I demand a formal apology from the management of this restaurant.
Neighbors Tea House (Rosemead)
4213 Rosemead Blvd h2, Rosemead, CA 91770, United States
I had the avocado and durian drink for $7.50 as I never been to this location and it is listed as a popular item. I didn't like the drink because of its flavor i thought i would and i even ordered a large. I also didnt like the texture because it had chunks and i prefer just plain but its personal preference so I still feel it should get 4/5. I saw so many drinks that i will try like the oreo cookie drink and the taro slush. Another customer ordered the oreo one and it looked nearly identical to the picture advertising it. So i will definitely have to go back and try again with another drink :) also its a nice place to sit they have a flower wall so cute

Rose City Pizza

I went here because I was in the area and I wanted some highly rated Italian food or pizza. Rose City Pizza was at the top of many lists so thats where my bulldog and I headed for lunch!Great decor inside and it smelled really Italian kitchen inside. Lots of garlic and spices.I ordered one of their signature buffalo chicken italian style grilled cheese sandwiches and a slice of cheese pizza and a soft drink. There are great lunch special daily that are listed on a chalkboard once you get inside. Great deals. The pizza slice came first after a very helpful employee at the register asked me if I wanted that first and I said yes please! The pizza was VERY GOOD! Its always great to have pizza that isnt from a chain fast food pizza delivery outlet (not that theres anything wrong with that - thumbs up Dominos!). And this cheese slice satisfied my craving. They have great, creative pizza varieties to choose from if you are looking for some great pizza. The sandwich was AWESOME! I have a weak spot for grilled cheese. But this was super great! It was so big I had to take half home with me (it reheats great). The bread was crispy golden brown and thick. The buffalo chi ken was spicy and had great flavor and spices. The cheese was melted perfect. None of the ingredients felt skimpy or overpowering. Absolutely delicious. So I sat outside as they have a couple of wrought iron tables that face the parking lot. Not the greatest view but I had my dog and it was a perfect way to enjoy such great Italian food outside with my dog waiting for me to drop something (disnt happen).Friendly, helpful staff. Really clean and well done decor inside. And very clean restrooms. Lots of free parking.DEFINITELY WILL BE BACK!
Summer Rolls
5728 Rosemead Blvd #100, Temple City, CA 91780, United States
Summer Roll in Temple City has recently reopened its main dining room after three years of offering only take-out service. The menu is still as extensive as before with some exciting new additions. During a recent visit, I had the pleasure of trying out three dishes, including the signature dish Nam, Banh Mi sandwich, and Grill Pork with Broken Rice and Steamed Egg.The Nam dish is still as delicious as before, with a crispy skinny egg roll inside. However, the standout dish for me was the Grill Pork with Broken Rice. The pork was well seasoned and incredibly tasty. It was undoubtedly my favorite dish.I also had the opportunity to speak with the owner, who has been running the restaurant for a long time. He was very friendly and clearly puts his heart into the food. He created a delectable special sandwich that was out of this world. Instead of using the traditional French baguette bread, he used Italian ciabatta to add more texture to the sandwich. The sandwich included trimming eggs and their signature Nam, and it was truly heavenly.I was pleasantly surprised to see that the prices have remained pretty much the same as before the pandemic. The lunch and dinner hours are always busy, so I recommend getting there early to secure your table.Even without my recommendation, this restaurant is already well known with a reputation for good Vietnamese food. I would still highly recommend Summer Roll in Temple City for anyone looking for authentic and delicious Vietnamese cuisine. The reopening of their main dining room has only made the dining experience better, and I cant wait to go back and try more dishes on their menu.
Mariscos Choix
4233 Rosemead Blvd, Pico Rivera, CA 90660, United States
I didnt eat here but Im giving 3 stars just for the fact that the entire menu is in Spanish. I was having trouble trying to figure out what to order since I dont read Spanish. I asked if they had their menu in English to be told no. The girl was very helpful in translating the menu. However, for being an Asian/Mexican fusion restaurant, you wouldnt think it would only be in Spanish. Otherwise the place is always busy with people so I assume the food is pretty decent.
ICHIMA
325 N Rosemead Blvd, Pasadena, CA 91107, United States
Came here on a Thursday afternoon with my mom for lunch. Shes been telling me how their bento boxes are a great lunch deal, since she had it for lunch a week prior. Despite the restrictions of letting patrons dine indoors being lifted to 50% capacity, Ichima has not prepared itself for indoor dining at the moment. Everything is currently outdoors underneath their large canopy tent. The tables are spaced out far enough between other tables that youre not in close proximity between other guests.Getting to the food, we both ordered a bento combination for lunch. My mom had their Teriyaki Salmon, California roll, and Mixed Tempura. I ordered the Pork Cutlet, Spicy Tuna Roll and Mixed Tempura. We both ended up packing most of it to-go because the amount of food they give you is ridiculous. Both our lunch were scrumptious and worth the $13.25 per combination. You can literally portion this meal out for lunch and dinner. Its no wonder America has a obesity problem because of the large portions were given. When I went to Japan right before Covid came to the states, my meals in Japan were a quarter of the size of what I was given for lunch here and that still filled me up. It may seem like Im complaining about their portions but Im just stating that your meal can easily be two separate meals, unless youre truly hungry and demolish the entire thing.Definitely give this spot a try if youre in the area and craving Japanese food because you cant go wrong with their dishes. The servers are welcoming as well and do their very best in giving you the pre-covid dining experience.
Bhanu Indian Cuisine & Market
7246 Rosemead Blvd, San Gabriel, CA 91775, United States
If I am craving Indian food, I always like to eat here. The food taste fresh and the staff is friendly. Inside is a grocery store, they carry spices, drinks, yogurts, rice, and lentils, etc. I recently discovered that they also sell fresh Turmeric Root. I like to make my own chili oil so this is where I purchase the chili flakes. If I want something extremely spicy, they sell dry Ghost Chile which is the Worlds Hottest Garlic Pepper, it is rated with 1,041,427 SHU (Scoville Heat Units). Now they also have the dried Trinidad Scorpion Chile which is rated 1,463,700 SHU (Refer to Periodic Table of Scoville Units Table). If you are up for the spicy challenge you can request for these two chilis on some of the curry items (additional fee) and they also have you sign a waiver. During the summer, they sell the Ghost Pepper Chili plant. There is also a dinning area to enjoy their food.~Drinks~Ive tried the Mango and Strawberry Lassi; they prepare it from scratch. Its made of Indian mango, diary, and sugar; its creamy, and sweet.~Food~I like to order the meals for lunch which comes with Curry Chicken, Butter Chicken, or Tandoori Chicken (2pcs), I get the Butter Chicken. The meal also includes, Veg, Lentil, Naan (Garlic Naan extra $.50 cents) and Yogurt. Their Chicken Samosa is crispy on the outside, inside its stuffed with Chicken and peas. It comes with two sauces, the green one is made of cilantro and Jalapeño, the red sauce is sweet tamarind. My favorite dish is the Butter Chicken,Garlic Naan, and Strawberry Lassi. I love to dip the garlic naan in the curry. If you want something spicy, tell them you want it spicy and it will be HOT!! Another highlight is the staff. Everyone is friendly especially Richard and Anil!!~Dessert~The most popular one is called Kuji (round), it is made of milk and cream. I got the Burgee (green) which is made of pistachios, Kalakand (square), contains milk and pistachio, and Pede (triangle) has saffron and pistachio. From these four, my favorite is Kalakand.~Customer Service~This place is family owned. Anil is kind and very helpful, whenever I have questions he is always happy to help me. Richard is friendly and he makes good suggestions on what to eat. Everyone is welcoming and nice.~Notes~-Inside seating-Parking lot
Banana Bay Restaurant 2
5747 Rosemead Blvd, Temple City, CA 91780, United States
Ive had Banana Bay at their Rowland Heights location and always found the food to be just okay. It wasnt until recently, when I was on the prowl for a late night restaurant that was still open, did I become reacquainted with the food at Banana Bay. Wow, have I been missing out! When they were still doing outdoor dining, my friend and I stopped by for a quick late-night meal right before they closed. Food was tasty, service was good, and we were in and out in under thirty minutes.Tried the House Tom Yum noodle soup ($8.99) which came in a pretty large bowl with a ton of ingredients. Besides the fried wonton chip, there was ground pork, peanuts, fish balls, fish cake, etc. with enough rice noodle to feed two people. Flavor of the soup was on point and had a good acidity to it.And of course, had to try their mango sweet sticky rice ($7.99). This is a seasonal dessert, and if youre able to order it while its in season, definitely do because it was super delicious! Im not a big sticky rice fan, but I thought the flavors were good and not too sweet. Pair that with the super ripe and sweet mango and youll have magic in your mouth! After that visit, we came back a few weeks later to order take-out. Had to try the popular Crispy Hainan Chicken rice ($9.49). Wow, I can see why so many people like this dish! The chicken was not only tasty, but super crispy and flavorful. While there were a few parts of the chicken that were a little fat, I was able to easily cut that off and continue eating. If youre a fan of crispy chicken (fried chicken for that matter), youll likely enjoy this dish as well. The sauce that comes with it is the perfect match with the rice and chicken. And its offered as one of the lunch specials on weekdays if you want to pair it with soup and salad.Theyre located in the TJ Maxx plaza - plenty of parking but some days you might have to drive around or park at a further spot. Sauces are available upon request. They get a ton of orders on weekends, so be prepared for a wait.tl;dr - Really enjoyed all of the dishes that we tried here at Banana Bay. Highly recommend the Crispy Hainan Chicken Rice if youre not sure what to order.
