Panda Express
1151 40th St, Emeryville, CA 94608, United States
We visited this restaurant to get some food for a quick dinner. My husband was always against getting Panda Express and I had never had it so I had to try it. We ended up getting two plate meals so each had 1 side and 2 entree's. We ordered Chow Mein, Orange Chicken, Beef and Broccoli, and Honey Walnut Shrimp.Firstly, the Chow Mein is dry and lacking flavor. The beef for the beef and broccoli was tender, however the sauce on it lacked any sort of flavor. The beef and broccoli was a weird experience because I've never had such saucy tender beef that was so lacking in flavor. The broccoli had flavor but not a great flavor. The orange chicken had a very mild spice, however it does not taste like oranges if thats what you are expecting in the dish. It also is not very crisp, it was like sauce had set on it for awhile and absorbed into the bread coating on the chicken making it no longer crisp. The honey walnut shrimp was probably our favorite of what we ordered. It had a nice crispness to it with a sweet glaze that tasted more of coconut in flavor than walnut or honey. There were a few pieces of walnut also found amongst the shrimp. If we ever are desperate enough to go again, this would be the only thing we order. For a side to go along with the two plate meals we got we ordered a chicken egg roll to try. This egg roll was a major disappointment. I have high expectations in egg rolls coming from an Asian family and had lowered them knowing this is a fast food chain and wanted a quick egg roll fix; it still did not meet expectations at all. The outside wrapper was a little bit doughy, almost like it were cooked from frozen. The inside was lacking in seasoning. It had some cabbage, carrot, rice noodles, lettuce, and a tiny amount of ground chicken. Chewing through the whole thing left a displeasing taste on the palate, not like old grease, but displeasing.I'm not sure how often food is made fresh, but while we were there employees were checking the temperature of all entrees. If you choose to go here, be careful of the 5 star reviews because there was a sign to leave a 5 star review and get a free entree.

Ramen 101
1151 40th St #1199B or #200, Emeryville, CA 94608, United States
Ive been waiting for this place to open since August, noticed they were finally open during my trip to PaknSave, and they had a BOGO deal for Dec 1, so tried the classic tonkotsu ramen and a chicken ramen. The ramen was pretty good, the portion was well sized and the pricing is very good for want you get. As a ramen shop the selection is pretty similar to the basic ramen shops around the east bay, except for the fact that they also sell hawaiian food. Its not a high end specialty ramen shop like Yuzu ramen or Shiba Ramen, but I would probably recommend this place over those on account of the overall price per quality/quantity. A good mid-teir ramen shop. Plus they have a small outdoor patio space with a few tables so you can eat outside.

MUMU HOT POT
United States, California, Emeryville, Bay St, 邮政编码: 94608
I was able to attend the soft opening and had a really great time. It was my first Hotpot experience and I actually really enjoyed every aspect of it.Once you are seated, you scan a QR code at the table to order which was pretty convenient as you are able to add things to your order any time without needing to flag someone down. They will either put your payment method on file once you place your order, or you can also request to pay in cash/physically within the online ordering system and not have to do that.We didn't have to wait very long for our food/ingredients haha - even on such a packed night at their opening!! Probably less than 5 minutes and everything was laid out on the table and the soup was bubbling and ready shortly after. There were two of us so we got the recommended signature platter (Two soup bases, two meats, two sides, two rice/noodle and a giant veg platter) for $75 (around $100 after tax and tip) which had more than enough food for us and what I feel was also a pretty great value. The Sichuan Base was warm and spicy, while the Mushroom Base had great umami flavor and was perfectly seasoned. I was able to feed this to a toddler, if that matters to anyone! We tried the wagyu and Australian chuck eye, both were truly great meats but I preferred the buttery-ness of the Australian chuck eye, which was a surprise. For our sides we ate fish tofu and South American Shrimp. These of course are incomparable as they are very different but made a great addition. I think the addition of seafood (or at least fishy flavor) was a smart balance. Our carbs of choice were the house ramen and instant ramen (again, fed instant ramen to the toddler) but made a great addition and was very filling. The vegetable platter was HUGE!! So many fresh ingredients and I got to try some things I never had before. There were lots of leafy greens like napa cabbage, spinach and bok choy. I cannot remember EVERYTHING but there were taro pieces, butternut squash, broccoli, corn, lots of different varieties of tofu/tofu skins, two types of mushroom and even rice cake (like the kind for tteokbokki)!! It all rounded out the meal and made it feel almost healthy hehe. The sauce station is lowkey a dream to go through, I had fun making a really yummy sauce and I don't think you can pick anything here that would not:A. taste delicious and B. go well together. So add to your hearts desire! Make something great to add more flavor!!Overall, it was a fun eating experience, very fresh and delicious food, great vibes (and interior) AND super super filling. I would go here again and know that I'm gonna be stuffed by the end of the evening :-)

Secrets Of Tiger
6520 Hollis St, Emeryville, CA 94608, United States
Unfortunately, although I was very excited about the high Yelp rating, I was not shocked or amazed. I ordered the sirloin steak that I saw in another reviewers picture, and my order was not similar. The portion size was small. The meat was very grisly, and the chef did not slice completely through making eating it a bit of a mess. It was supposed to be strips but it was strips connected with a very tough strip of gristle. That said, the strips that I managed to break loose without pulverizing, were tasty when dipped in that tiny container of dipping sauce.Given that my whole meal was about 6 oz of meat, I expected a little bit more rice than I received. There was not more than three heaping tablespoons of rice. The chicken coconut soup tasted good, but Ive definitely had better. This is a dish that Ive eaten at literally hundreds of Thai restaurants and I feel highly qualified to evaluate. While Im feeling a bit Uber critical, I have to say something about the glass of water. I dont know what it is that causes this, but the water had a slightly fishy taste and smell. Ive had this happen before in restaurants.Service was very friendly and Id say it was even fast, especially given there was only one employee. He was doing his best to be friendly with every customer but being so short staffed, even in this very small restaurant, meant he was only able to do the bear essentials. The restaurant was immaculately clean, and their bathroom immaculately clean. They have a tiny dedicated parking lot, but I pretty easily found parking curbside.Full disclosure, I heard other customers leaving commenting on how amazing the food tasted and how they will be back soon. Unfortunately, maybe it was my choice of food, but I wont be back. There are too many better options for Thai food nearby.

KoJa Kitchen Emeryville
5959 Shellmound St #19, Emeryville, CA 94608, United States
The only reason I am giving this place a 2 star is because the food is excellent but unfortunately they've lost a loyal customer due to their disrespectful, rude and arrogant manager by the name of Maria. I believe she may have lied about her name as she refused to provide the info to me today. I have escalated her blatant disrespect to the corporate office. Everyone else is pretty nice but ironically as a manager her attitude and disrespect is mind goggling. I truly hope she undergoes management classes and how to speak to people. This is her 3rd time attempting to bully and harass me to a point where she refused to provide a refund after I placed my order the way she advised me to do so then she attempted to recharge me. I'm shedding light on the harassment and discrimination by the manager at Public Market location.

Gobi Mongolian Grill
1333 Powell St, Emeryville, CA 94608, United States
I went to the Emeryville location a few days ago with 2 friends it was the 1st time for all of us. Another friend recommended it she goes there a lot with her husband usually for dinner. She goes for dinner and you pay a little bit more and you get 2 balls and she usually takes one of her plates home for leftovers. It would be nice if the atmosphere was better feels like a cafeteria. If they upgraded a little bit it would be more pleasant and it would also be nice if they had wine which they dont. I think the food was really good it was pretty tasty Next time Ill probably put a little bit less noodles And put more meat vegetables in it instead in my bowl . I also put a little bit less spicy sauce in it. You get one bowl at lunch which is less pricey than dinner But I discovered that I think on weekends and holidays you pay the dinner price and you get 2 Bowls because we went on Sunday and thats what happened, which I was glad. I wanted two bowls so I wanted to take some home. The way it works you go down-the-line and put veggies meat small shrimp and noodles in your bowl. I put the noodles in last on top like my friend suggested And also as she suggested I squished down the meat and vegetables for more room. Although a sign says Not too they didnt make a comment what we did. The meat is frozen so its a little hard to squish. Then you tell them what sauces you want to put on and the cook cooked for you on the grill. I had them put every sauce on it but next time itll be connected with the spicier ones. Behind you when youre standing at the grill there are egg rolls won ton chips, fried rice, WHITE rice and more sauces. Also everythings included except the soda thats extra. But I wasnt impressed with the egg rollls, I wish they were hotter and crispier. Although I did take them and I ate them.I like the wonton chips, although my friend said that they were tasteless, but I took hers as I liked them. Parking is a little hard theres no parking in front or across the street but when we came in the cook told us they had a parking on it back but we had found it on our it was a parking lot and a parking garage we parked in a lot also my other friend said theres parking around the other corner by the Dispensary and billard parlor. When we got there on Sunday afternoon around one there was nobody else there we were the 1st customers but then other customers came in afterwards. I wish they offered tea I dont think they did that would have been nice I would have paid for that. At 1st we had trouble finding the restaurant and then finding the door. W e 1st walked into a sandwich place by accident but this restaurant is right next door To the sandwich place. I would definitely go back .

Saucy Asian
5614 Bay St, Emeryville, CA 94608, United States
I had the chance to check out the grand opening of a new food joint inside the Bay Street Mall in Emeryville called Saucy Asian. I found out about the event on Facebook and decided to stop by. For the grand opening, the first 100 people in line would be treated to 1 of their 3 signature bowls and the next 50 would receive free pot stickers. FREE you say- Im in!While standing in line, I met a couple of folks whod already eaten here at the restaurants soft opening and since then. They gave great food recommendations which Ill leave below.Andrew, the manager, came out to greet everyone and thank them for coming- it was such a cool vibe.I ordered the Saucy Asian Bowl which comes with rice or mixed greens, japchae noodles, fresh slaw, kimchi, greens, carrots, fried shallots and gochujang aioli. You get a choice of a protein topper (in the form of either meat, seafood, tofu or mushrooms). Im pescatarian so I added garlic shrimp for $2. The shallots were a little thick and fried a little too hard. PASS But the shrimp had a lot of flavor. My Mom texted me while I was in line asking for me to pick something up for her. So I ordered the chicken wings and the kimchi fried rice. The chicken wings come in two flavors (sweet & spicy and spicy/garlic). I ordered the spicy and garlic for her. The kimchi fried rice comes with a poached egg.On the way home, I had to stop and run an errand so the bag of food fell over- hence the not so pretty food pics. Now to what youre waiting for...the food review.SAUCY ASIAN BOWL- 8/10- the flavor of the garlic shrimp was on point and I love kimchi so you cant go wrong. Also, they were NOT stingy with the shrimp at all which is a plus.CHICKEN WINGS- They smelled amazing but Im pescatarian- Mom gave them a 7.5/10 because she wanted the sweet and spicy flavor instead.KIMCH FRIED RICE- Mom had been fasting so the rice was a little to much for her but I enjoyed it the next day.The folks in line who have eaten here before made great suggestions like the Cali burrito, the Saucy Asian fries and the Bibimap. I will definitely come back to try out the fries and a few other items.

Good To Eat
1298 65th St Suite #1, Emeryville, CA 94608, United States
Food is pretty unique and tastes good. Different than what I would expect as Taiwanese food. Will I crave for them again, probably not. They claimed their food is made after ordering. But all I see is the kitchen and service still need a big improvement in their efficiency and how to speak to customers. We waited for the take out order for more than 30min for dumplings. They should have done a little better in planning. Golden kimchi, Lu tofu and all the dressings have to be made hours before serve for consistency. Dumplings should be freshly made a few hours before and which can reduce the cooking time to 10min. Even frozen dumplings can be done within 10-15min... I really dont see why it could take more than 30min. When I asked about how long I still had to wait after more than 30min, all I kept getting is we made it fresh so it is very normal to wait for more than 30min. Yea, you can tell that to a person who does not know how all the other fresh dumplings places work (DTF with a much bigger customer load, I usually wait for 30-45min, for only steam dumplings I waited less than 30min), and they could have said sorry about the wait, let me check for you instead of making customers more angry about the long wait. Luckily, the cashier knew how customer service works, and went back to the kitchen to check while I had to listen to things from that server who sounded very impatient. Even the food is ok-good, I would rather go somewhere else. The line for waiting to order was not long but still it was a very long wait.

The Sunday

Three words sum up my experience at this brunch spot - Best. Brunch. Ever. I got the life-changing bulgogi benedict, and let me tell you, it was worth every carb and calorie. The dish is full of robust flavors and is an applaudable Asian twist on an American breakfast classic. The space was very bright and cozy (they have indoor and outdoor seating), the service was exceptional, and the mimosas were reasonably priced and delicious to drink. I cant wait to return to this restaurant! This place is a no-brainer for folks residing in or visiting San Fran or the Bay Area.
