Ginger Cafe

Now, while writing reviews, I cracked that all the Asian restaurants I visited in Bay Area suggested by colleagues. After shopping or shop-shopping for the entire day, I would recommend this place as a hard eatery. Their duck and chicken preparations are really good. Suggestion is to try different flavors of rice, instead of noodles. I was told momo is good here [which itself was enough for me to drag anywhere], and I liked their crab cakes too.

If I had the option to leave a NEGATIVE FIVE STAR I would. Very unprofessional and rude employees. I never have a problem walking into an establishment where English is not their first language but let me tell you this was an unpleasant exception. In this place there is a HUGE gap of communication. None of the employees knew what I was asking and kept repeating the same thing over and over again. I tried to speak slow and clearly and nothing. They ended up treating me like garbage because I couldnt understand them. Im sorry but if youre going to live and do business in the this country then you should atleast learn the language. Common sense. By no means do I want to be rude or am racially bias its simply that its not fair for someone to raise their voice at you and get upset at something that should not be a problem to begin with. WILL NEVER RETURN HERE! You need customer service skills and atleast one staff member who speaks proper English. In addition I read the previous review where they actually witnessed cockroaches! Disgusting! Will tell everyone I know to avoid this place.

Panda Express
6975 Camino Arroyo, Gilroy, CA 95020, United States
There were a few things that has gone terribly wrong:First, your website stated that this location is open till 10pm. When we arrived right at 9pm (to pickup a mobile order that is to be ready by 9:05p), we can see from outside that the inside is already cleaned and chairs put up, and entrance door LOCKED. I guess I could help excuse that theyre only open with drive-thur, but wait a minute, Im here to pickup a mobile order - and this is the gist of what Im going to write about. What was appalling is that at that very moment, one of the employee (lets call her Manager-A, with a headset) was opening & re-closing the door for an employee to leave so I began to explain that Im here to pickup an mobile order that should be ready very soon, if not already ready. She continued to re-lock the door and walked inside away from me without bothering to address me.I continued to stand outside of the door and tried to get the attention of any of the employees (there were like 5-6 employees) behind the counter. Finally another employee (lets call her Manager-B, with a headset) just signaled to me with hand gestures that I need to go through the drive-thru as the dining area is closed. I told her (shouting through the shut glass door) that Im just here to pickup my order which should have been ready by now; They didnt even bother to ask the name/check the status of the order. She just gave an excuse that oh your order is not ready, go to the drive-thru. This is crazy as my order couldnt have been simpler - it was 3 orders of chow-mien side!As the dining room has been closed, there were already a bunch of other customers (upon realization that they have to go to drive-thru instead) lining up at the drive-thru. I told her that the purpose of the a mobile order was for quick pickup, having to wait in line at the drive-thru following other customers who were there to order and wait for an order defeats the very purpose of mobile app pre-ordering.In the end, I left at 9:06pm, my order should have been ready anyways, but no employees were there to help finish and pass me the order.

Pearl Sushi Lovers
340 E 10th St ste a, Gilroy, CA 95020, United States
This place was awesome! I was passing south on my way back to Colorado and was really craving some sushi before leaving the coast. This was some of the best and freshest sushi Ive had. Add a couple sweet old women running the place, a great decor from the recent remodel, and reasonable prices and its a place to check out.Note, their maintenance (or knowledge of how to) of this listing is low to non - existent. If I would have checked google before coming here I wouldnt have because it said they were closed. They obviously were not.So, swing by and enjoy some wonderful sushi and a delightful environment. You wont be disappointed.

Pineapple Village
769 1st St, Gilroy, CA 95020, United States
Theres a dearth of authentic Asian restaurants in the vicinity of Gilroy/Morgan Creek and Pineapple Village manages to fill that void somewhat. Is it the best Thai food Ive had? No, but its good enough to satisfy cravings and the prices are also decent. I opted to eat here instead of the pricey Italian restaurant in my hotel in San Martin, and I didnt regret it one bit. My favorites were the Garlic Calamari and the Drunken Noodles.

TeaLeaf
1275 1st St, Gilroy, CA 95020, United States
I was looking forward to a new tea spot in Gilroy, but was quite disappointed. This little cafe has a lot of potential with cute interior and great tasting teas. I have yet to try their food and not sure I will get around to that. While I understand this is their soft opening, they are completely lacking in customer service! Not one employee greeted customers or at the very least smiled at any given time. No social or people skills at all. Appeared that a lot of family was there at the tables maybe for moral support, but really just talking amongst themselves and the employees which was a little off putting. I felt really bad watching customers walk in and out as just a number. For such a new business, I just thought they would've put more effort in gaining and keeping customers. Not the most welcoming environment. Felt really disconnected with little to be desired when I left.

Completely unprofessional atmosphere. The waiting area is run down and the chairs have all the vinyl rubbed off so the arms are just material that can't be sanitized. My appointment was for 9:15am, I showed up at 9. I had all my paperwork completed by 9:15 and sat and waited. As I waited, I saw multiple people get called back before me, even people who arrived well after. They had at least three staff members working in the front office. Apparently, someone was ordering them lunch and they were absolutely absorbed in discussing what each of them were going to order. “How many chicken wings come in an order? What is in buffalo wing sauce? I am not getting the salmon salad because I got that last time. My stomach doesn't like tomatoes. Do you think I should order the rib eye? Well, if they didn't want you to order something expensive, they shouldn't have chosen a spot with expensive options.” and so on. At 9:40 a lady came in and announced she had at 10:30 appointment. Guess who was called to a room five minutes later? After about another five minutes of being the only person left in the waiting room, I got up and explained that I had to leave the office by 10:15 to be at work on time. The same lady who checked me in asked, “Oh, were you late?” I was literally in her sight the entire time I was there. She finally got me into a room around 9:55. I sat in the room until exactly 10:15 and as I was walking out, the doctor was coming in. She apologized and said she can take a look “real quick”. I asked if I would be charged full price for a 5 minute visit and she nodded yes. I asked the assistant if they see patients who come in a hour late and she shook her head no. I declined the visit and left. I am not going to pay hundreds of dollars for five minutes. I wanted to get a second opinion on a minor surgical procedure. There is no way I can trust these folks to cut into my head. What if they forget about me in the middle of that? I really don't understand how they can run an hour late when my appointment was only 45mins after they opened. If they knew they were running that far behind, they should have let me know and rescheduled. If the front desk knew I had to leave by 10:15 and the doctor wouldn't be there on time, why put me in a room? Why would you bring back someone who was 45 minutes early before someone who was 30 minutes past their appointment time? I really hope this was not a case of racial discrimination, but I did get that feeling. I am not person who normally writes bad reviews. (Check my history) I am pretty patient, but it was obvious their concern is not for the patients. It takes me two weeks to earn 3 hours of PTO for these folks to flush it down the toilet.

Saigon -2- Siam Bistro
1280 1st St, Gilroy, CA 95020, United States
This is an interesting Asian restaurant that popped up in my Google search near Gilroy high School. It had both Thai food and Vietnamese food. My Saigon special pho was a delicious fusion with coconut milk. The pad Thai was great and my autistic son enjoyed the barbecue pork with rice. The fried calamari was not what we were used to, but it was okay.

M Noodle & Cafe
6945 Monterey Hwy ste d, Gilroy, CA 95020, United States
Its okay, just not what I expected after reading all the non Asian reviews. I should have drove north to Morgan Hills instead. Overly priced, but a good portion of noodles and meats. Broth is not close to other Vietnamese pho places. Spring roll was just a waste because half of it was just bean sprouts. Poor customer service and a typical dirty Asian restaurant.
