Red Chili Thai Vietnamese Restaurant
29583 Mission Blvd, Hayward, CA 94544, United States
Really good Asian restaurant, one of the few that offer Thai, Vietnamese and a few other South-east Asian dishes. The pumpkin curry, fried fish with mango and roti pratha are especially good here. Come with a big group and get a variety of dishes. Parking can be difficult on the weekends unless you go early.
Elephant Bar Restaurant
24177 Southland Dr, Hayward, CA 94545, United States
As a couple every experience that we have ever had at the elephant bar relative to food has always been a positive one. We decided to come by here for our anniversary as one of the restaurants we both enjoyed and knew that it would be a good choice to celebrate our special day on. As before the food was not a disappointment having ordered see pistachio-crusted arugula salmon salad and the Mongolian beef dishes. the one comment I would make on the Mongolian beef which comes over rice is that if you are accustomed to the traditional Jasmine sticky rice the white rice that is served with the dish is not that kind of rice. it is much more of a dry possibly calrose style rice and not the traditional Asian style rice that you may have at home with your family and I would recommend the brown rice which will have a consistency that shouldnt surprise those who are familiar with brown rice. The waiter was super friendly and helpful when we challenged what we expected the white rice to be and gave us several variations trying to get it right. Good customer service. The Mongolian beef use nice thick cuts of beef that seemed to be of higher quality then you may get from your typical Chinese fast food takeout restaurant. The pistachio crusted salmon was good as always, but in all transparency the Mandarin oranges that came with the arugula salad were still a bit frozen and surprised my wife when she bit into one as she was not expecting it to be so chilled. We followed up the dinner with a favorite of mine, which was the mocha mud pie which is an ice cream pie with Oreo crust topped with whipped cream and it did not fail to satisfy. I find it unfortunate that the Elephant Bar as a chain is becoming a bit of a scarcity. As long as one can be found I would not hesitate to recommend it to friends and family.
Tandoor Indian Restaurant
27167 Mission Blvd, Hayward, CA 94544, United States
4 reviews1.0 star rating 12/1/2017This place has some of the most disrespectful and dishonest people I have ever encountered in the restaurant business. I was trying to make a delivery for Doordash and entered their restaurant to find a line of 5-10 people waiting for their food at the pickup line. That was the first red flag. I asked the man about my order and gave him the name of my order. Usually, when I do this, the person at the counter looks up the order and gives me their order, because by the time I get there, the order should already be ready. The man, who was wearing PAJAMAS, seemed to not care about my order at all, said 10 minutes. So, I waited 10 minutes, thinking that they were making it. I waited a total of 30 minutes before asking the guy again if my order was ready. When they said it wasnt, I knew something was up. I called a Doordash representative and they called the restaurant, only to find out they THEY DIDNT EVEN START THE ORDER YET. Then, when I asked them how long the order was going to take, they told me 10 minutes. Then, they asked me to list out their order, because THEIR DOORDASH APP WASNT WORKING. WHY DIDNT YOU TELL ME THAT THE APP WASNT WORKING IN THE FIRST PLACE SO WE COULD HAVE RESOLVED THIS PROBLEM EARLIER?!?! This place has absolutely no decency and respect for their customers. I would not suggest coming to this disgusting place where the server WEARS PAJAMAS.
Great River Chinese Restaurant hayward CA foothill
22218 Foothill Blvd #2711, Hayward, CA 94541, United States
Hello I'm a YouTuber and I came in to try the food for the first time. I ordered the Mongolian beef which was a 10/10 we also ordered the bbq pork fried rice and fried chicken wings which were fried in a fish like batter and the rice was fried to perfection. However we did order one dish that was chicken and chowmein but we were giving a dish called pan fried noodles witch had thinly sliced chicken that looked undercooked the noodles were fried so they were crunchy and the sauce was very bland and it was a slimy sauce. We asked the lady if we can please exchange the dish as it was wrong and she told us no we can't that we can order something else or get something else and pay half for the dish. Even though we did not touch the dish usually I'd get really upset because places should fix there mistakes and not lie or try to get more money from you witch was awful. However we still tried it to make the video and the only thing we were disappointed in was the effort that was not made to make things correct. This place would have gotten a 5 star rating however if you don't order correctly you're stuck with that dish or if they make a mistake they will not fix it . I give the food a 6/10 service 4/10. Mabe will try again
China Best Restaurant
University Plaza, 26775 Hayward Blvd, Hayward, CA 94542, United States
China Best has been our #1 go-to Chinese restaurant as long as we have lived in Hayward. There is not a single dish of disappointment, but our absolute favorites are: walnut prawn, combination chow fun, salt & pepper pork, and Mongolian beef. Last night we had friends over, so we picked up: peking spare rib (aka sweet and sour pork ribs), eggplant and tofu in garlic sauce, combination pan fried noodle, and fish fillet in black bean sauce. Its making me hungry again writing this post. The owner is an absolute sweetheart. When I first started going to the restaurant, I was pregnant with my second child and made extra requests like not adding any salt to salt &pepper pork... now I think about it thats ridiculous but she made it happen for me with always a smile on her face. Its a family-fun restaurant that can be trusted by local residents.
Island Pacific Seafood Market
19691 Hesperian Blvd, Hayward, CA 94541, United States
Island Pacific is an Asian supermarket with restaurant that serve Filipino dishes that are affordable prices, very delicious menus. The bakery part have sweet bread, pies, bread wrapped with hot dog with cheese which is my favorite. I buy food from the restaurant and I dont have to cook specially on busy days.
Tins Teapot Bistro
320 Jackson St, Hayward, CA 94544, United States
There’s a lot of good Asian restaurants in the Bay Area, but this is the only one my mom would come to when she didn’t feel like cooking. The food is excellent- second only to mom’s, and truth be told, it’s often better. The dim sum is better than in SF- delicious delicate chee cheung fun, crispy jian dui with the perfectly chewy inside, tasty taro cake and the freshest char kway teow. A lot of dishes can be made vegetarian, and the ingredients are quality and fresh. Service is quick and friendly and the owner will also do private parties and catering. Dont just drive by this place- it deserves a regular rotation on your restaurant list.
Favorite Indian Restaurant
24052 Mission Blvd, Hayward, CA 94544, United States
One starch, one non-starchy vegetable, one protein on a plate makes balanced meal. If I’m eating alone at an Asian restaurant and I want to have a balanced meal I have to piecemeal $40 dollars worth of food together for one person. This has kept me from choosing Asian restaurants for lunch (which is when I eat out the most). I used to love this place because the buffet fixed that. They got rid of their buffet. I’m the only one in my family who likes Indian food so I never order it for dinner. Will Asian restaurants ever catch up to the fact that family style is a limiting business model?
Hinata Sushi Kitchen
1071 B St 2nd Floor, Hayward, CA 94541, United States
Was looking for a new sushi place and this came across recommendation, the star review was lower, but I read some recent reviews and decided to give it a try. We went dinner time wasnt as busy for a Friday night. We tried the ayce for $39.99/person. They sashimi was pretty fresh which is important for a sushi restaurant. And I love the fact their nigri had small rice portion unlike other sushi places making the rice ball so big. Everything was small sized which was good for us so we were able to try most things and not be filled up with rice only. Service was attentive and friendly which is a plus for Asian restaurant. We also ordered hot sake it went well with the sushi. The only thing they could improve on was the baked mussles, it wasnt very well made, was soggy, felt mush and old.If they keep up the freshness of the sashimi and the rice balls nice and small as they do, We will definitely come back, and recommend all our sushi loving friends to go. There is also parking along the streets, some are paid some are not.
Panda Express
30158 Industrial Pkwy SW, Hayward, CA 94544, United States
Their poisonous crap caused me food poisoning, no it had nothing to do w/ their closing time, but afterwards I was having severe stomach cramps and then DIARRHEA. i almost went to the emergency room but felt so weak and sick I didnt have the strength to drag myself there. Panda express is absolutely revolting. theyve cut off their own business for good. their portions get tinier by the month and now its a joke - THIS IS THE ONLY LOW END CHAIN WHERE I WALK AWAY STARVING AFTER A FULL ORDER - thats how tiny their portion, they put like 5 noodle strings and 5 peppers and 6 droplets of MSG and yes they / cashier may old 60s 50 female employee count it all. you cant get any cheap and stingy if you tried. I only go there when Im on the road, when theres no other options or the nearest restaurant is too far away, but theyve done it worse than burger king...Id rather eat at 7-11 (not really) then EVER. GO. PANDA. AND GET. DIARRHEA. holy crap! how many other restaurants gives you the chills and diarrhea for crying out loud, after paying $10 for 5 MSG, ill-flavored stale noodles. these guys pick the food off the bleach wiped counter and throw them back into tray to give to unsuspecting customers. i know because people that work there told me they do it and of course I watched them do it, sometimes hunger and desperation will cause you to make a near illness inducing mistakes like Panda. food poisoning feels like death. like you are vomiting everything. thats my experience from this poisonous dirty infestation chain - a near fatal encounter on disgusting stale oil-drenched sticky expired rat poison.
