Lemongrass Thai Restaurant

I'd like to start by saying that the food here was good indeed. However there were major problems with the service and the ambience. This was our first time here. Although we were courteous throughout our time, the waitress did not seem to be happy to serve us. She didn't seem to like us asking her to replace the plates that were dirty. Every time she gave something to our table it was almost like she was throwing things onto our table rather than keeping them. Not sure why she did not seem to like us. She seemed nicer to other tables. This was obvious because of some behavioral changes like saying “thank you”, smiling and the way she kept things on the other tables. She was chopping vegetables on one of the tables during service. So there was a constant noise of chopping throughout. Thought his was unprofessional at a restaurant like this. Now, the last problem we had here was with flies. It has some serious fly infestation. We had to keep shooing the flies away while we ate. They have a fly trap set (attached a picture) however it's not very helpful.

Over the last couple of months, Yin Yin has supplanted China Garden as my go-to for Livermore Chinese food. The quality of the food ranges from mediocre to fantastic. Our standard order typically includes the Yin Yin Chow Fun, Chicken and Corn Soup, some form of fried rice (either Yang Zhou or Fu Zhou), and a random fourth item. The Chicken and Corn Soup is pretty standard - its on par to China Garden. The Yang Zhou Fried Rice is also pretty standard - the reason why it stands out is because I cant recall eating it at any East-Bay Chinese restaurants (its something I would have ordered years ago from Fortune House in Sacramento or random South Bay Chinese Restaurants). I was pleasantly surprised by the Fu Zhou Fried Rice - there wasnt a description on their menu system, but Googling it returns a description of gravy on fried rice; the gravy ended up being saucy-seafood mixture, which is absolutely delicious. The Yin Yin Chow Fun is executed well - the noodles are neither mushy nor undercooked, flavors are right, and the ingredients (chicken, shrimp, BBQ pork, and broccoli) are spot-on.The mediocre items are the deep-fried foods. Ive tried their eggrolls and salt and pepper tofu - in both cases, its more fried batter than anything else.We typically order through GrubHub, but it looks like Yin Yin uses their own internal delivery person. Hes great! GrubHub usually reports a 55-65 minute wait, but the food has always been delivered within 30 minutes. Hes always masked up, and waits (6+ feet away) at the porch until someone gathers the delivery.

Service was not great, not packed at all with people but yet took forever to get Serviced, our food came out 1 by 1 approximately what seemed like 15min apart, our chicken teriyaki came ice cold, our miso soup was not even warm, then after $159 later we payed with card, and my wife was going to leave a tip (cash) but our server came up to me and not asked but also demanded to leave a tip for her on the card and for the people in the kitchen, not the best server she was rude and forgot to bring our orders correctly, by the time I got my food 2 of my friends had already finished theirs. The table next to us was left un-cleaned the whole time we were there but yet when we were almost finished eating, a second server came and started almost jumping our table to get our empty plates asking if were done, while still having food,, and put some of our food with a fork from one plate to the other to make room to pick empty plates,,

I chose to try this place out based on the reviews. The atmosphere was okay, but the smell of the restaurant was off like cleaning supplies. The woman who served us was very nice. My cousin and I came to in to the restaurant for the ramen. I can see that most of the 4/5 star reviews is for sushi. I read several other people saying the same thorns about my experience. The ramen was so incredibly bland. I ordered the veggie ramen and the tofu in it was tiny pieces you could barely see and seemed like dehydrated tofu pieces. There was really no flavor at all and the noodles felt like instant noodles. The whole ramen experience was worse than buying packaged ramen noodles from the store.

What an awful experience I had tonight. I ordered via DoorDash and for some reason, their menu on the app doesn’t have all the fountain drinks, including Diet Coke. It only had 3 so I decided to order “cherry coke” and then immediately gave them a call to see if they could just substitute the drink with Diet, something I’ve done before with no issues at another restaurant. This rude Asian speaking lady answers the phone (I say Asian speaking because of her dialect and then at the end of the call is chatting with her coworker in another language after speaking in English with me.). She first, in an aggravated tone, tells me she can’t find my order and that I must have placed the order at a different location. I tell her I specifically saw this phone number and address listed for my order. She then asks for an order number but DoorDash doesn’t actually provide to us. It wasn’t on my receipt in the app nor in the email. Just an itemized list of my order and charges. A few seconds later, she says “oh here it is.” She then tells me “so you want Diet Coke instead? No problem.” And after consulting her coworker, rudely hangs up on me before I have a chance to thank her. Fast forward an hour, I’m now wondering where mt food is because it was originally quoted at taking only 15 mins to be delivered. I then get a call from DoorDash support telling me the restaurant cancelled the order because “they didn’t have the ingredients I ordered” whatever that means. I ask him if it’s because of my Diet Coke request and he says yes. Why did the lady confirm with me she had Diet Coke and that it wouldn’t be an issue and instead, make me wait an hour and then flat out cancel my entire order and make me and my family go hungry for the evening. Why didn’t the restaurant contact me directly? Why didn’t they just still deliver the food with another flavored drink? I am never going back here and will tell everyone I know to stay away.

We went here on a recommendation and were happy we did. Cute little atmosphere, excellent service, and the food was ?. (And the bathrooms were very clean!) The young man that helped us with our orders, (Om, I believe but probably misspelled it) was so nice and helpful talking us through different dishes and making suggestions, then he kept coming outside to check on us and make sure we didnt need anything else. The food... I got these puffy curry things that were 5/5. Id go back just for those. Also, drunken noodles were delicious and then one of their popular chicken dishes that I cannot remember the name. Also had a green papaya salad which was delish too. For me, some dishes were a moderate heat, but I love spicy food, so if thats an issue, you can request they tone the spice down. Also, we ate outside with the dog, so they are dog friendly!

I will never go here again - went here for the 1st time today and I cant believe how rude one of the staff members was from the moment we walked in. 15 people in the establishment and the cashier yelled at us to put masks on. We clearly didnt see the the note on the door but to be THAT upset and yell at us in front of so many, was unprofessional. Being it was our first time there we were so embarrassed because we werent aware that it was still a requirement to put masks on and if not you get yelled at for not having done so. Then when ordering, my daughter didnt know what she wanted (again, first time here) and the cashier couldnt control her rudeness. Instead of being polite she had an attitude because we ordered the wrong Boba item. She treated us like were were an inconvenience vs being a customer. She also couldnt hear my daughter when she ordered so my daughter pulled her mask away from her mouth (still on and covering) and the cashier told her to put her mask on. I would have walked out she was so rude but we were there with friends and I didnt want to make a scene. I went to pay and noticed it asks for tips and they had one that said wow (as in wow, great service) and that was a 20% tip. Thats what I gave her, a wow not because she deserved it but because wow you treat your customers so horrible and not welcomed that I just said it outloud, wow to make a point. Not to mention she watched me put my pin in so I covered the pad with my wallet. Uncomfortable. Be better T4 - never again will I support you and well be sharing with our friends and family.
Shwe Myanmar Burmese Cuisine

We loved Shwe Myanmar Burmese. It was excellent. In my opinion, the Best Burmese food in the Bay Area. I have eaten at 5-6 places including Ruby Rangoon, Minglaba, Burma Burma, Burma Experience and couple of others.Firstly, we are vegetarians and like spicy food. Luckily for us they, have an extensive Vegan Menu!We ordered several dishes to get a feel for the place. They were able to customize the spicy level to our liking. We ordered the Tea Leaf Salad which was excellent, the best we have had. Also ordered the Sampler with Samosas, Veg fritters. We also ordered the Roti Paratha appetizer. Loved the Curry that came along with it and good portion size.We also ordered Pad Thai, Fried Rice Noodle dish with vegetables and Okra-Potato in tomato curry w/ Rice. All the dishes were excellent, nice portions and we had a decent amount of leftovers for another meal at home.Service was very nice and will definitely visit them again with more friends and family!

Eat here at your own risk. Super gross. No concern of public food safety. I witnessed an incident that showed a total disregard of hygiene and public health at this Panda Express: an employee working behind the glass shield (the only person who scooped food items for customers) took her friends kids leftovers to behind the counter, and used the tongs for the fried noodles to scrape off their leftover to a trash bin. Then she used the same tongs to put new noodles (from the fresh pot) in the kids used boxes. She then continued to serve customers using the same tongs. I could not believe what I witnessed. Now, those fresh noodles had been contaiminated by other customers dirty plates and leftovers. I called her out and she denied and lied. Asked for a supervisor and was told none at the store.I walked out without ordering. They refused to admit such wrongdoing and did not throw away the contaminated food. Instead, they kept serving them as if nothing had happened. If your boss allows you to give your friends free food, use clean plates. It is not okay to use the serving utensil to scrape off ppls leftover and then use the same utensil to serve food to the public. It contaminates the food and could spread foodborne illness.

This place isnt bad but it is very frustrating at the amount of inconsistency there is when it comes to talking to the people who take your order. About 3/5 times and I am being generous, I will repeat my order multiple times and they STILL get it wrong. Do I need to scream my order out to guarantee good service? On top of that, I ask for Soy sauce and Potsticker sauce EVERY time and I get one or the other, never both. In what world do we live in where I order two entire plates with rice and chow mein with potstickers 100% of the time but they dont have the sense to maybe think to put soy sauce in the bag, AFTER I ALREADY ASKED? What are they hoarding it and selling it online so they cant hand out one packet of soy sauce per order? All in all the food is great but in terms of the quality of communication I would give it a 5/10. Employees need to be trained properly and equipped to understand orders and requests rather than needing to hear some things two or three times just to understand something.
