Yeung Shing
14107 S Winchester Blvd, Los Gatos, CA 95032, United States
One of my favorite Asian restaurants in the Bay area. It has a nice modern decor and feels cozy which is partly because its not a very large place. The food is always excellent. The soups and the fried rice are superior to the typical Chinese restaurants. If you go at lunch, park in the back as the main parking lot can get full.

Amazing to have all these great restaurants in one location. So far I haven't been able to tell any difference from the standalone restaurants.

I went there for Asian Box. They had dedicated spaces for several restaurants, including one for Asian Box. I told them about my gluten allergy and they assured me to be careful with cross contamination and the person over there was quite knowledgeable about it. I tried their chicken box and there was no issue afterwards.
Medical Hair Transplant & Aesthetics
15055 Los Gatos Blvd STE 110, Los Gatos, CA 95032, United States
I first noticed my hair loss shortly after graduating college. It was not very dramatic in the beginning, so I dismissed it. However, as time progressed, it became worse and worse. My crown and vertex lost so much density that I felt and looked 10 years older; I was only 25 at the time. Hair means something different from one individual to the next. For me, it felt like I was losing a part of myself (quite literally, I suppose) and my identity and confidence took a hit. I thought I was doomed to suffer this fate, being dealt a losing hand in terms of the genetic lottery, until I stumbled upon hair transplant videos on YouTube. I fell down a rabbit hole, and thus began my hair transplant journey. I scoured the internet – forums, reviews, reddit, you name it – for potential doctors that I felt comfortable with. After all, this was going to be a big investment.Fast forward, and I eventually decided on Dr. Diep. This was due to several reasons. Firstly, he was one of the few doctors who had posted videos of his work before surgery, 6 months post-surgery, and 12 months-post surgery. If they say pictures are worth a thousand words, then videos are like full blown novels. Secondly, Dr. Diep seemed to have worked with a wide variety of hair types in his YouTube videos – Caucasians, African Americans, Asians, Hispanics; this was a definite plus. I am Asian myself, so my hair is thinner, and it was very important to me that the hair transplant doctor knew how to work with my hair type. I finally took the plunge and scheduled a consultation. I was classified as having a Norwood 3A hair loss pattern. Much to my surprise, he was fully booked and the earliest date they could squeeze me in was April of next year! I was a bit bummed, but I guess all good things are worth the wait.During my time leading up to the surgery date, I corresponded with the office regarding paperwork, payments, and any general questions. For the most part it was fine, a bit disorganized at times, but nothing major. It was mostly repeated questionnaires or notifications, but hey over communicating is better than under communicating right? So, on the big day, I arrived for my 2,500 FUE procedure bright and early. The office was clean and tidy, and the receptionist was very warm. She had me fill out any remaining paperwork and asked me to select my lunch option from restaurants nearby, which was quite unexpected since it was on the house. After a short wait, I met with Dr. Diep to go over the procedure details. He had excellent bed-side manners and was very thorough. He took the time to listen to my concerns and made it a point to ask what was most important to me when drawing up the lines for where to place my transplanted hair follicles. After I took my pre-op medication, we started the procedure. I was partially sedated but still semi-conscious. Dr. Diep personally extracted all my hair follicles (which I read is the most important part), and continuously monitored my pain level throughout. If I started to feel pain, he would reapply the local anesthesia. We took a break for lunch, and in the afternoon, several technicians implanted the extracted hair follicles per Dr. Diep’s design. After wrapping up, the office gave very specific post-op care instructions and sent me home with some meds, gauze, liner pads, and a hat to cover up my scalp. Overall, I was very satisfied with my experience and even more so with the results. I highly recommend Dr. Diep to anyone who has been thinking about doing a hair transplant but is on the fence; it changed my life. I can go on and on, but it is mush easier to just show the results.
Manresa
320 Village Ln, Los Gatos, CA 95030, United States
Ive eaten at Manresa a number of times, and love it, but my kids have not. So took my son Josh and his GF Aran for their 25th birthdays, along with my Sweetie Teresa (her 2nd time) on Feb 12th. We all had the tasting menu with the wine pairing, which came to a total (with bubbly and still water, one G&T, and 3 coffees to about $2700 including a $500 tip, which sounds steep but was SO worth it!Started with 2 Amuse Bouches: a petit fours of red pepper gellee with black olive madeline, and an incredible multi-seed granola crisp filled with goat cheese. This was followed by two small plates: iced geoduck clam with kolrabi and turnip, and an exquisite sunchoke royale, with roast chicken jelly and Ossetra cavier. My only small critique of these 4 starters, all of which were both beautiful & delicious, was that they probably would have been even more heavenly if accompanied by champagne. This alcohol-deprivation was soon rectified, however. The next course was a delicious abalone chowder with poblano chile mouse (sp?), paired beautifully with a 2017 Alzinger Gruener Veitliner Smaragd - Steinertal (a somewhat grassy, superb Austrian white. The salad course was a complete knock-out (see photos) - with crunch, savoriness, just wonderful, paired with the same Austrian white. The next course was fabulous, a Romanesco, Dungeness crab concontion with koji butter, which we all gleefully sopped up with the sourdough (one of three never-ending Manresa-baked bread choices), paired with a superb 2013 Comtesse Bernard de Cherisey Meursault Genelotte. This was followed by Kinmedai and squid with grilled onion jus, paired well witha 2017 La Marca di San Michele, Verdicchio dei Castelli di Jesi CapoVolto (a grape Ive never heard of - delicious!). This squid course, while delicious and satisfying, was probably the most one note flavor palate of any of the courses due to the grilled onion jus.The 1st meat course was another knock-out: roast veal sweetbreads with coffee potato & black garlic, paired beautifully with a 2009 Michael Gros, Vosne-Romanee Clos des Reas. The final meat course was the far and away the meatiest fowl course Ive ever had, and pushed all of my beef buttons. It was a roasted (rare) squab breast and a confit squab leg & thigh in an incredible foie gras sauce Albefera, paired with a lovely Syrah, the 2013 Clusel-Roch, Cote-Rotie Les Grande Places.By this point we were all satieted and a bit tipsy, but had room for most of the 3 dessert courses, paired with a wonderful old Port, a 1962 Muse Wines, Banyuls Pietri-Geraud.The 1st was Kafir lime with pistachio & squash, combining sweet & savory notes with the citrus of the kefir lime. The 2nd was a amazing tower of roasted pear hidden below a chocolate crisp with fennel, followed by strawberry petit fours with chocolate madeleines, tying into the 1st amuse bouche.Coffee was excellent, as expected, and happy we all Lyfted there and home. Meal began at 5:30, and ended at 10:15 with a dessert doggy bag, plus a couple handfulls of their butter carmels and individual clear boxes of their homemade granola for breakfast the next day.If youve never eaten at this local 3 Michelin starred gem, you owe it to yourself to try it for a special occasion. The ambiance, the decor, the service, the presentation, and especially the food, with amazingly contrasting colors, textures, and temperatures within a single dish, are all fantastic and worthy of 3 Michelin stars. To my mind, Manresa is botb closer and better than the French Laundry.
Icing on the Cake
50 W Main St, Los Gatos, CA 95030, United States
What a horrendous experience here. The people running this bakery need customer service and hospitality training. The man working at this cupcake shop seems to have been upset to be a cupcake seller and took out his life frustrations on my mother, fiancé and I. He refused to make eye contact with us and helped two other people behind us. I believe the people running this establishment are racists and when we asked why we had not been helped he gave us a dirty look and said he didnt see us and that we should not be complaining. I then went on to tell him the customer should always be right and he immediately cut me off and said actually no the customer is not always right, he laughed at us and walked away. We were then helped by another cupcake seller who uncomfortably took our order. We got our cupcakes and left but decided we could not eat them joyfully anymore and came back in to return them. The owner of the bakery apologized on behalf of her ill- mannered hiree but did nothing to make us feel better/ offer something or require him to personally apologize to us, in fact when he saw us again he snickered yet again and told us we were rude and walked away and would not come back out. I have never been treated with such disrespect in my life anywhere. I would never come back here and will spread the word about this poorly run establishment who hires people who apparently are unhappy to be selling cupCakes......P.S. I wish I could give this place a negative star.**This is my reply to the owners comment back: I had told you my mother and I came to your bakery ONCE before. That does not mean I frequented your establishment. And your power being out doesnt excuse your employees disgraceful behavior towards us, telling us the customer isnt always right which is a ridiculous comment to make! and then disappearing in the back when asked why. He was clearly dishing out his personal frustration and also made a couple offensive remarks to my mother and then refused to come back and face us or apologize and acknowledge that we were looked over repeatedly to the three other people in the facility and laughing about it. Being a professional in the healthcare field, I would never come close to behaving the despicable way your employees treat customers!**
Sandwich Maker
987 University Ave #38, Los Gatos, CA 95032, United States
So disappointed in this restaurant. They have new owners and sandwiches should be all they do because their Pho was downright disgusting. Had the worst taste to it and was horrible. Not sure how Pho could be so bad. Even the noodles were dried and not up to par.Staff was nice though no masks were worn like most other Asian restaurants. Plenty of parking. They cater to people who work in the area, not foodies. Looked like a to-go deli, not a Vietnamese restaurant.
The Pastaria & Market
27 N Santa Cruz Ave, Los Gatos, CA 95030, United States
WORST waitress! Our reservation was @5pm 7/1. We want to sit outside (lots tables outside) but she said we specified inside seat in the reservation (which we didn’t) and led us to the most inside table. So we left. I guess they don’t serve Asian. Luckily we found super good restaurant across the street.
