Ginger Thai Restaurant

Theres a reason this place has an almost perfect 5 stars.I am actually really happy that I came here. I was hungry in between jobs at work and stopped in for a quick bite. It was pretty busy, so I felt bad (I try to avoid making the work load to heavy on restaurants and stuff like that out of courtesy for the staff), but despite how heavy the traffic was on a Friday night they handled the order with ease, and I got my stuff relatively quickly. As for the food itself.... holy crows. The flavor is wholesome, and actually tastes fresh, and as though it was crafted with care. Their curry recipes are divine. That is literally the only word that could come to mind.At some restaurants they will try to stretch certain things (like curry) and add a bunch of extra this and that into it, ultimately leading to it being too soupy or almost flavorless. This is not that type of restaurant, and I appreciate their respect for the customer in that regard. The hospitality is great, the woman that handled my order was handling many different tables at once, and still managed to engage one-on-one with me without appearing flustered and even nailed my sort of complicated order without any mistakes. Very kind too.The restaurant itself is cute, seems like a very clean eatery. Simple, mellow design (The pictures of the food on the walls is a little tacky, but that doesnt at all effect my score or opinion of the restaurant).Overall the food was so good I felt compelled to stop eating, and write a review as another way of saying thank you to the hard working people here.Thank you very much ❤

Absolutely terrible, and this is coming from an ex employee who has worked there for over a year now, disgusting environment, roaches in the back, I informed my manager that there is a dead roach in the middle of the dining room, and she did not care whatsoever, they have Favoritism and are racist, They treat Their Filipino customers better than any other customers, And that goes for employees as well . They constantly will yell back-and-forth rudely as the customer tries to speak up to order food, Manager refers to any Hispanic or Latino person as “the Mexicans” Prices are way too high for the little portions that they try to give you Then again, it depends if you're Filipino or not. Never in my life 10 years working have I witness such unprofessionalism. My work ethic is based on customer service and to see how terrible this companies customer service is … Possibly the worst I've ever seen. This store specifically Has broke so many work laws that I am deeply confused why they do not have a union.I won't mention completely everything, that's a long list for my lawyers to read.

I unfortunately had a very bad experience here. We entered the restaurant and sat down at a table missing appropriate silverware or chopsticks. Service was slow and the staff was clearly overworked and understaffed. The waitress messed up my wifes order and gave her chicken chow mein instead of vegetarian. By itself, this isnt a big deal, but unfortunately they did not offer a replacement or take it off the bill. In fact, when we politely informed the waitress, she quickly ran away and avoided us for the rest of the meal, even when we tried to get her attention. We wouldve been fine taking the chicken chow mein to go and ordering something else, but she didnt even come around to ask what would be best for us!When the bill came, they left the uneaten chicken chow mein on the bill and wouldnt take it off the bill. They also quickly carted away the (completely untouched) meal without asking if we wanted it to go. I felt really angered by this lack of hospitality, and I find it especially concerning that they avoided us for the entire meal. I would not recommend this place to anyone with dietary restrictions, or really just anyone in general if this is how they treat their customers.

UPDATE: we liked their food and one day the rice was just a little off didnt taste like usual and then I called in and let them know it was too peppery for us and if they can please not put any and they mentioned to bring it back they would redo it. Once I got the three owner who is also one of the cooks came out and was very rude about the whole situation. He said I dont like complaining of my food I said I was not complaining I was bringing it a point that we ordered this at least 4 times before and it was not spicy then, and this time there might have been just a little too much pepper. I even told him my sister could not eat spicy and he didnt care he wad angry and rude about it. No customer service whatsoever, wer ette becoming regulars ordering the same things and if an employee let alone the owner acts in that manner, that means they dont care about the customers. Needless to say, I am no longer a customer of this restaurant.REMEMBER: CUSTOMER SERVICE IS IMPORTANT TOO......................................................................................This place is wonderful, I was surprised that i have lived in this city for such a long time and never knew about this place. You want quality Chinese food? This is your land they use quality ingredients they trim fats off the meats to make sure you get more protein and not just fat. The sweet and sour sauce is delicious. Their BBQ pork chow main is very tasty and the veggies are always very fresh. You guys need to try this place out. It is mostly take out but you can eat there too. I have always take it home since I live very close. Ther staff is very courteous and always have a smile on their faces. GREAT JOB!!!

Best Asian Pacific restaurant. Better than Ramen 101, better than L & Ls or Ono whatever & their portions are island size friendly I mean HUGE portions. Affordable prices too.Ive had poké bowl from all over & this by far was the best. Cajun fries better than popeyes.Great service, friendly. If I could just suggest or recommend ice with water, especially on warm summer days.Even then, everything was great.
Lemongrass Bistro

We had dinner here the other night. The service was subpar, decor was mediocre and the food was semi-descent.I’m Mexican and my friend who invited my wife and I is Patrick Swayze white! His wife and mine are both Korean.Near the end of our meal, a transgender staff member approached our table and made a comment, referencing a movie/comedy with a prominent Asian actress. After both our wives looked at the staff member with confusion, the staff member insisted on continuing the conversation about the Asian actress! My friend’s wife was clearly bothered by the comment the individual made! I made clear gestures to him/her that he/she should stop but, the comments continued without let up!I strongly believe that in a world where transgender individuals are threatened for their safety and whatnot, they are in no position to be poking fun at other people’s ethnicity! I could have easily made references to trans movies, comedies, etc, but I chose the high road!If you have a restaurant with good food but have terrible service or servers that don’t stay in their lane, no matter how great the food maybe, the service or the lack thereof, will always leave a bad taste in your mouth!!

Went here with the family and didnt ultimately enjoy the experience. We dined in, and instead of the food being delivered for dine in, it was delivered sealed in small plastic containers. While I didnt eat all the food, which might indicate that the portions were large enough, it didnt appear that way and I ultimately stopped eating as I wasnt impressed with the flavor. My wife didnt touch her food much after the smell initially put her off and her scallops were over cooked and her chicken she reported was chewy/springy.The reviews here gave an indication of a much better place and it was the reviews of the place that led us to it. So while I am normally inclined to not review things negatively as everyone has bad days, I dont see how this is a 4.9 ( the average review at this time ) location and its very dishonest.
Vinnies Pizzeria
6635 Alhambra Ave ste 213, Martinez, CA 94553, United States
Finally! Foldable pizza in the bay!TLDR:-Pizza is excellent! Foldable, giant slices that remind me of the east coast.-Cannolis: so yummy! I recommend the ones with chocolate chips.-Garlic knots: the bread is good and the marinara is outstanding!-Cookies (koulourakia if you're Greek): Delicious! I didn't care much for the icing but it didn't stop me from enjoying the cookie itself! So good!-Service: Really wonderful. Very kind and generous owners.-Delivery: really easy process that goes through Slice.-Atmosphere: I personally love it. It looks and feels like the NY pizza places I've been to before. It's simple and they're making the pizza right in from of you. Although there's some seating, it's definitely more of a to-go vibe. And I love it!Ok here we go…I'm a very picky pizza eater, and being from the east coast I've been very disappointed with the pizza options out here. Then I found Vinnie's.The pizza: I grew up on foldable thin giant slices (2 slices and a coke) and this hit the spot. The sauce is great, the bread is great, the ratios are perfect. It's the floppy foldable pizza of my dreams. And now I can happily live in the Bay Area and still have my pizza. ?(I've also tried the cannolis with chocolate chips and they are superb!)The service: The service is truly great. Maybe better than east coast. Lol. Vinnie knows true hospitality.I called one evening to order pizza and told them I was just barely going to get off work in time to pick it up, so I wanted to make sure that if I was a little past closing time that is still be able to pick it up. The person on the phone said it was no problem at all. As soon as I got off work, I drove straight there and got to meet Vinnie. It was a little past closing time and he so kindly handed me my pizza and gave me complimentary garlic knots with marinara (which btw…. That marinara is ????????).At this point, I'm pregnant and in my third trimester and we order Vinnie's once a week bc that's all this baby wants!(Just finished a slice btw)
Souley Vegan
610 Main St, Martinez, CA 94553, United States
This food made me vomit !I am a dietary Vegan. I am also an Image consultant who runs my own marketing agency. I review vegan restaurants and how they market their food and if I approve I promote their business to my thousands of followers. I also let people know when they are false advertising. I went to Souley Vegan because I had some people saying “ your vegan you should try this place” while others said, “ they have fallen off and stopped cooking “REAL food with real ingredients. In this case I had to try for myself. I went there and first I was turned off by the fact that they collect your money first by making you stand in line like a to go person before they seat you. It's very bad way to start a dining experience. Second my food came out cold as if they already had batches sitting on a line for hours . I sent it back and it came out more cold the second time. They advertised sizzling hot Mac and cheese but then don't use actual macaroni noodles which is very misleading and Is bad marketing . My macaroni and cheese came out cold, and disgusting . They didn't use macaroni, instead it was this fat overcooked rigatoni noodle for pasta that was so over boiled that it broke apart into mush and was covered in a artificial cheese sauce. It has not been freshly baked in an oven and there were not any sign of real cheeses used, as soul food originally uses multiple authentic fresh cheeses. I sent it back then paid an extra $15 to try the pesto Mac and it was even worse. Overcooked. Enlarged pasta that was covered in a green sauce that looked like vomit. I was so disgusted. The fried tofu tasted like it came prepacked from a freezer and was so large and big it looked unappetizing . The black eyed peas and the collard greens were full of salt and they added tomatoes sauce. I was so confused, and so turned off by the lack of quality and culinary skills that this restaurant fell to. I am not only a 10 year dietary vegan I am a gourmet chef in my own kitchen. It was deplorable and should never be served or called soul food . This was unhealthy, hard to digest and my digestive system was hurting after the third bite that I had to leave everything on the table. The owner charged me $43.00 and never offered me any service to rectify this. They do not understand what vegan cuisine is about . They are just profiting from celebrity approvals and the green market with marketing as if they can deliver high quality food and they cannot . I took photos and you will see how poor quality the food is. I would never go back there and if your looking for authentic vegan soul food this place is worse than KFC and they use all artificial ingredients and a fast prepackage deep fry system to stage themselves as a real soul food restaurant when they are fast food with deplorable presentation . Real vegans please don't go there !!!! Overpriced and food looks like it's already been chewed and thrown up. Look at these photos, absolutely disgusting . The owner needs to answer to why the food quality is so deplorable and whether she cares about real vegans and their dietary needs ? I told her I was a distant vegan and she said she didn't even know what that was. My question to the owner is are you even vegan ? Or are you just profiting from the green market and vegan market ? You should be ashamed of yourself and where is the social responsibility to create food that is wellness for vegan consumers or do you care more about marketing and catering to non vegans who thing their eating vegan food when they are actually eating slop? How do you justify these photos of your food ? They don't even look appetizing . Why is the pasta overcooked? Why does it look like green vomit ? Why haven't I been refunded ?? What a terrible experience .
