Anjappar Chettinad Indian Restaurant
458 Barber Ln, Milpitas, CA 95035, United States
I am writing with heartfelt disappointment about the food quality and the waiter / managers intelligence to ensure I am still billed for the food.We group of 7 people went to the restaurant at Milpitas and we ordered our food in single shot since we were asked to.We ordered two starters : Chicken 65, Gobi 65 - These were actually good to eat and made me think that the quality other foods will also be good.Next the Egg Kothu Parotta came. I dont know the Chef in this restaurant really knows the meaning of Kothu Parotta. The dish was actually made by cutting the parotta in small pieces and just fried with tomato egg and some gravy.. It was totally worse, there was not even a pepper spicyness I felt. The food tasted actually bit sweet. Then the Parotta and Chettinad chicken curry - We ordered two plates. The moment I took first bite of the chicken, I felt some weird smell from chicken and I immediately called the manager / waiter and complained about that. He was trying to convince me saying if he can bring mutton curry etc. I clearly told him I dont want any gravy but they better not to bill me for gravy but they can bill me for parotta. He asked me how will I eat the parotta. I said I will take TOGO.He then offered me saying he will atleast bring me some salna... I initially thought it was nothing but a usual gravy they provide for briyani...But to my surprise, he brought me with 2 parottas (how intelligent he was. His motive was to bill me for those 2 chicken gravy orders by compensating with this useless plain salna and parotta which I never asked)I dont want to talk about the briyani :) . It was nothing but a masala rice with 2 small pieces and 1 plain bone of chicken in the rice...Dear Anjappar Folks, Please stop fooling your customers. Better admit to your failure in serving the quality food.Waste of $130.....

We were a group of nine people who reserved a table ahead of time. Since it was a big crowd we shared our food. We ordered appetizers, drinks, main course and dessert. A couple of people ordered separately as take out for their home. The service was good and we were meeting after a long time hence, didnt pay much attention to anything but went with the flow. It was not even closing time but the waitress came and told us the kitchen is going to close and so the moment we heard this we rushed to order more as some of them were strict vegetarians. But we realized the kitchen was not closing that soon. Anyway, when it came to paying the bill, it was decided the take out items will be paid by the individuals. We asked for the bill and saw that our bill included the service charge and then for take out there was a service charge included too. This seemed very strange as for takeout how can you ask for a service charge? Our friend asked the waitress, to which she responded- when you come in a group and ask for takeout, its a lot of work for us to fill in a box hence the service charge. This reason didnt seem reasonable hence my friend asked for the manager. The manager came and was already in an apologetic mode. My friend explained the situation and the manager without asking anything further did a refund for all the takeout items and apologized on behalf of his staff. The other thing, I had ordered a cocktail and I didnt want that to be included in the group bill. Hence ahead of time I requested the waitress to not include the price for cocktail in the main bill and I will pay it separately. She agreed and got my cocktail bill. Later while we were checking our main bill to make sure we were paying for what we ordered, to our surprise, the waitress added the cocktail bill in the main bill as well as she gave a separate bill to me which I had requested. The food was great and I have been going to this place since 2005. I always enjoyed the food, service and the manager was a nice person then too. This time I learned a lesson, always check your bill and when in doubt ask for the manager as he will never be wrong.
Thaibodia Bistro - Milpitas
338 S Main St, Milpitas, CA 95035, United States
This is their second location. Opened a few months ago...Welcome to Milpitas. The first one is in Campbell.Thaibodia Bistro is not a traditional Thai restaurant. Its more of a Thai, and Cambodian fusion along with traditional dishes as well. The portions are on the generous side, definitely bring an appetite. The staff is friendly and efficient. The venue had a lot of open space, especially in the middle. Im guessing they will fill it up with more seats once they start getting busier. Some delicious Southeast Asian eats:~ C5 - SALAW MACHU KTISS - 4.5/5A Cambodian style stew: sign me up! Love meself some Cambodian food. So many ingredients in here! Tasty, lots flavor...a good balance of everything. Not overpowering in any way. I did think the Chicken was a bit overcooked though.~ FIVE FLAVOR - 4/5This is more of an Asian fusion dish. So Orange...Slightly Sweet to start, but then the spices start to kick it. You can taste a variety of spices. While it gave me the spice sweats, it didnt linger and wasnt overly spicy. I ordered this dish Medium.~ GARLIC BUTTER - 4.5/5One of their Signature Chicken dishes. A lot going on here, its a hearty dish. I recommend a side, rice or noodles to compliment this one. Also make sour to eat it when its warm and crispy. This is one dish you cant let sit...unless youre a fan of soggy chicken.
Darda Seafood Restaurant

We used to have a great experience at this restaurant until 2021 where we started noticing drastic changes. My entire extended family has been coming here for more than 25 years since we were never able find a better Halal Chinese restaurant in the Bay Area. The food used to taste excellent and came out quick and fresh. Our standard orders are the Three-flavored Fried Rice, Three-flavored Chow Mein, Honey Walnut Shrimp, Beef Noodle Soup, Salt & Pepper Fish, Chili Chicken with Garlic, and Kung Pao Beef.During our last visit though, we found the food to be quite greasy and significantly less in quantity and quality. Furthermore, the waitress brought us an incorrect item that we didn't order. When we kindly said this wasn't our order, she kept insisting that nobody else ordered it but us; repeatedly trying to defend herself. She did eventually replace the item with what we ordered, but the whole scene was just embarrassing and such a mood spoiler given that the people around us could clearly hear her frustration on a fault that wasn't ours.Later on, we noticed that our bill was higher than expected. We asked for the itemized receipt but they only gave us the receipt with the total amount. To our surprise, we found that the restaurant had added an 18% Service Charge to our bill without any notification. When confronted, the lady at the counter said that “DINE-IN” means an automatic 18% Service Fee is charged to the bill regardless of whether it is one person or ten people.Honestly speaking, our entire family thinks that their food quality and customer service is getting worse by day. On top of that, there is the default 18% Service Charge that makes us think twice before walking into the restaurant. If you plan to visit this place for dine in, please be aware that 18% of the total amount (including tax) is already added as a service charge as your bill, and that too for one of the worst services you will ever get at a restaurant. Good luck!

I am disgusted beyond words I helped a disabled women when I came in here to order my food into the store. When I got to the line, the manager Bam had a poor attitude they had no chow mein and no sesame seed chicken. She aggressively told me it's going to be three minute wait I said that's fine. I can wait not a problem then she throws the white box container over on the other side of the food quarter And I said excuse me why are you aggressive today? Is there something wrong? I should be upset that I have to wait but I'm not acting out you are I ended up waiting the three minutes for my food. I should've checked the box the food container if you will, so I got three entries. I had a double portion, a sesame seed chicken, as well as Beijing beef . They had to put in a small box and chow mein. This is what my box look like this is not a double portion of sesame seed, chicken, I'm appalled at the customer service, and the lack there of. She knows I cannot upload a picture here I'm going over to Yelp to do the same thing.

The most disgusting food on earth. The seafood restaurant nearby this place had a huge line so we chose to try this place. It was the most disgusting food ever. FULL OF MSG. So much so it actually left an intolerable aftertaste until I could buy a toothpaste and toothbrush before we even got back home to alleviate the bitter chemical msg taste from my mouth. Every dish we ordered (7 in total) was disgusting with too much what seemed like cheap industrial oil, too much salt, way too much msg, and just an unappetizing stench and inedible flavor. Our faces showed just how difficult it was for us to even partially eat this slop. All of their plateware were chipped, the place and food didnt seem clean so we all took some Pepto from the Walgreens we ran to afterwards when we purchased our toothbrush and such. My friend bought the strongest mouthwash he could and held it in his mouth for 5 minutes to try to get rid of all of the acrid aftertaste. Unfortunately the aftertaste STILL WON.It was horrendous. A total health and safety hazard. Its a miracle we didnt get the runs from this. The only satisfying thing was the people at the next table ordered what looked like an even worse selection of dishes from the enormous menu. We were glad we didnt order any of that.A note: they dont speak English well or at all, and ALL OF THE PATRONS were Chinese, which we thought was a good thing but have since learned otherwise. I will personally never eat at a Chinese strip mall restaurant again. The people raving about this restaurant are either 1.given an incentive to do so or 2.people who havent had any better food or 3.people with damaged palettes. Crazy.

You ever had a time where your friend tells you about this cool restaurant and you dont know what or where it is? Even trying to find it on Google maps itself is hard! It really makes you wonder if its worth it once you finally find it? Turns out it actually is! After hearing about it for the past 9 months from my friends, Ive finally spotted this French/Vietnamese restaurant when i was making my way to golfland that is close by. When i entered the building, my group of 4 and i was quickly seated by the hostess and serviced with the even nicer waitress! While most items on the menu are $10 or more (upwards of $40+!) the quality really stands out here, most notably my sizzling hot plate of steak that came with salad, soup and surprisingly, French fries! The steak was tender and seasoned really well, so well that they use full on pepper seeds you usually grind! Their atmosphere is very calm and subdue with real potted plants unlike most restaurants which use fake plants ( feel them!) and when i went, there wasnt a lot of people, so they spread the people around the best they could. Overall, its a pretty nice place, if, youre willing to spend a little more than you want to, and if you do, you wont regret it!
King Eggroll Express
442 W Calaveras Blvd, Milpitas, CA 95035, United States
The one rating was lowest I could enter but really a negative Zero would be applicable. I decided to Order from King Egg Roll Milpitas for my nieces Baby Shower. I phoned in my order Friday for pickup at 12:30pm Saturday. I was asked who would be picking up the order I replied my name or Sister gave her name. The person assumed my Sister was making the call and started referring to me by that name ok see tomorrow calling my sisters name...First clue things are not going to go well. So after running errands in San Leandro Saturday on our back to South Bay we stop in Milpitas King Roll to pickup the food for our event, Worker for King Roll assisted my Sister in bringing out the food and placing it in the car. We now headed to final pickup place then to our event. I receive a call after arriving in San Jose concerning my order. Long story short I was given the wrong order.... Mind you I wasnt told this in the beginning of the call I being questioned over and over I was upset why are you calling me finally after 20 minutes of back and forth I find out 2 big orders placed for Saturday Pickup 11 and mine at 12 apparently 11 didnt pickup they gave me their order instead my order... Heres the kicker the money driven manager is telling me to bring back the order. Mind you I am on way to my event. But more so I bring back the order and he was going to give it to other client??? Let that marinate for minute... imagine the health issues KING ROLL big ZERO on all levels... Oh and the food was horrible! What happened even their egg rolls werent good! The Manager of that store Horrible, Board Health, Food and Drug someone needs to Monitor them. Needless to say they lost a customer. My items totaled over $250. Wont be back!!! Again unforgivable horrible service!!! Oh the person order was $30 more than mine... Your error eat the difference it may taste better than food we bought!

The first time I came here must have been over 10 years ago. I don't think the items changed, but prices must have gone up through inflation. The first course was the house special beef salad. The beef was scarce or so minced that some folks thought it was chicken or pork. It was quite refreshing, but felt that the beef disappeared. The second course was the lukewarm pot shaba-shabu style. The heat was low and took a while to cook the rare beef. Not that the beef needed to be well cooked. The idea of this was nice, but the reality was different. Then came the heavy weights and probably the stars of the 7-course beef: One plate that had steamed beef patties, beef sausages, beef rolls and beef wrapped in leaves. With the 2 kinds of fish sauce (one that looked almost nasty but packed a punch of shrimp paste) as dip, these four different beef items were delicious. The dipping of the rice paper and adding veggies and meat to create the wrap was fun initially, but I got lazy later on. The staff forgot about the last course until we asked - the beef porridge. The porridge was flavorful, but I had only one thin beef strip in it.We also heard that the cat fish was good so we got a medium one. I'm not a cat fish person, but I felt it was tasty enough. I was lucky to try this dish as we had a huge group. Overall, not a bad meal, but for the salad and the porridge, beef was an after-thought. They could have replaced the beef with another meat and it would not have made much difference. I gave this place 3.5 stars. The service was lacking since it was a busy Saturday night. A few people had asked for chili sauce 2-3 times, but it never came. Since we had 10 people, the service fee was automatically added at 20%. With a required 20% fee, I expected better service. Thus, rounded down to 3 stars. It's good to try it once, but probably don't need to go back often.
Pinoy Bbq ATBP
10 S Abbott Ave, Milpitas, CA 95035, United States
Initially we drove to our favorite Filipino restaurant but unfortunately it was closed. But we still had a huge craving to satisfy. So we drove a few more minutes to Pinoy BBQ ATBP for the first time.We arrived @ 1130 on a weekday and already there was a line out the door, which is always a good sign. Its a fast food style restaurant with an entire wall adorned with Manny Pacquiao paraphernalia. There are 2 small tables to dine in. But we took out orders to go. We ordered lechon kawali, beef caldereta and pancit. The lechon was tender and juicy. The caldereta was the best Ive ever tasted! The beef was tender and the sauce was the best. It had so much flavor. ?The pancit noodles were stir- fried perfectly and had a good ratio of veggies and strips of pork. The staff were pleasant and helpful. For example, we were told the lechon would be ready in a few minutes so we waited outside. One of the employees handed us our order, instead of waiting for us to come back in. Even though there was a line. This was a great find and the food was delicious!Maraming Salamat Po!
