Dynasty Garden Restaurant
3500 Coffee Rd S-1, Modesto, CA 95355, United States
So last week as I was out running errands I decided I would stop at dynasty garden on coffee road in Modesto California and grab me something to eat as I was getting kind of hungry. I ordered the dynasty chow mein this consists of beef Chicken shrimp and vegetables and of course the noodles. I asked them not to put the vegetables in my chow mein cuz I dont like the. When they brought me my order it only had one shrimp and very little chicken or beef so I basically just paid for a bunch of noodles with sauce in it. Now mind you it takes you pretty good but once again it was mostly just noodles and I think this this is about $10. So after I ate the chow mein I decided to go ahead and get some cream filled wontons . You get 8 for I think $11 Im not sure. When they brought this out I was looking at them and they looked okay I was taking a closer look to them and opening them up. 3 out of the eight wontons. Had no filling. I told them this is unreasonable and I am not paying for this I did not want the order. So after eating my chow mein getting a soda by bill with about $14 I left a tip and I left. Dynasty garden used to be a really good Chinese restaurant but it was a little pricey but now it has completely gone down hill. If youre looking for good Chinese food in Modesto California I recommend going to China garden on coffee. You get more food for your dollar. And the food tastes really. I believe I am going there for dinner tonight. Well this is all I got to say. This is just my thoughts. Have a good day.

If you like phò then youll absolutely love this place. Lots of variety to choose from and it is all delicious. Theres a little bit of something for everyone and if you are open minded to trying something different then this is the right spot for you. The service is really friendly and quick to get your order from the kitchen to your table. The prices are pretty affordable, especially if you are on a budget. I totally recommend this restaurant to anybody craving Asian cuisine.

Thailand Restaurant
950 10th St #17, Modesto, CA 95354, United States
UPDATE!you must try their General Tsao chicken and their BBQ pork (grilled pork, sliced and lightly seasoned)The deep fried soft shell crab is a appetizer must with Chang beer!We came across the place, after our regular spot further away was closed for the day for gawd knows what. Years ago before the current owners took over, we had gone and it was bad - like we ate, left and never came back bad.Glad we went there after an article in the local newspaper. The food was delicious. We started with spring rolls (your choice of meat) and they had chicken meat to choose from! Yay! The other places in town do not have chicken spring rolls with this tummy peanut sauce. We ordered 3 entrees : Pad Thai noodles, Pad Eggplant and Pla Muk Pad Ped.The flavors on all three dishes were very good - so good we already made up our minds, that his was our go to Thai place in town now.And if you like steamed white rice... its free with the entree! Rejoice! Tell everyone.I later found out the owners were former employees at another Thai restaurant in town which happened to be one of our other spots to eat Thai.We will be going back to Thailand restaurant in downtown to taste other dishes.

Tokyo Express Restaurant
1026 J St, Modesto, CA 95354, United States
My friend had really high hopes for this restaurant, and I had a bad feeling about everything. This place had no customers during lunch time which only added to the eerie, quiet, and uncomfortable atmosphere. The service was kind but felt very desperate and forced. When I went to pay for my meal, the man who was supposed to ring me up told me to come behind the counter to pay. This made me very uncomfortable. If my friend hadnt already paid for her meal and sat down, I wouldve left without a word. The restaurant was dirty. Nothing looked organized with stock overflowing from boxes left at the front of house. The dead bugs on the windowsill had been there so long they collected a few good layers of dust. After receiving our food, I noticed that everything was served in either a styrofoam, paper, or plastic container. Hot miso soup in styrofoam, my friends sushi rolls on a plastic tray, and my meal conveniently already in a to-go box. No one is on dish-duty at this restaurant because there are NO dishes. As for the food, I can safely say that this was the worst meal I have ever had. I ordered the beef teriyaki that came with a side of rice, salad, and miso. The beef had no taste with a rubbery texture. It was drowned in this teriyaki sauce that tasted like they concocted it themselves. Ive also never known Asian salads to be spicy, so the weird glaze that was drizzled over my lettuce caught me off guard. The shredded onions in the miso soup looked like it was an attempt to make the soup taste fresher, and it didnt work. What is seen in the photo I attached is what was left of the mystery meat I pulled from the back of my throat. Not only would I not recommend this place to anyone, I wrote this review to WARN everyone about it.

Saigon Restaurant
2601 Oakdale Rd # K, Modesto, CA 95355, United States
I am BEYOND LIVID with the service from this place!!!! If I could I would give them zero stars!! I called in an order of 30 egg rolls for a potluck at work at 3pm and I told them I was going to pick up at 6 pm. When I arrived at 6:15pm they hadn't started my order and I have to wait for 20 minutes until it was ready. Being as I was now in a hurry to rush to work I didn't check my order before leaving. When I opened my order an hour later (because I was at work and didn't have time to open it right away) there were only 15 egg rolls. When I called them the staff was extremely rude and began yelling at me they said that I must have eaten them all and was now asking for more! Who does that??? It was their mistake and now they are accusing me of eating the food and asking for more. I have never felt more disrespected in my life!! They continued to yell at me and then passed the phone to whom I'm assuming is the manager or per who also continued to yell at me .when I said I would be leaving a review he yelled “no” as if I was a child. Needles to say I WILL NEVER GO BACK AGAIN. And I would advise anyone to NOT go there either. By the way I paid $38 for 15 egg rolls

Imperial Garden Restaurant
2045 W Briggsmore Ave, Modesto, CA 95350, United States
The restaurant is super quiet inside, so much so that you can hear people slurping their meal and kitchen staff talking, which is a minor annoyance to me. There's nothing offsetting the noise. In any case I didn't really care too much for the miso soup as the broth was super thick. The rice plate tasted ok, although I got a big chunk of rib in my bite. Sweet and Sour chicken was crispy and tasted ok, the chow mein was not great. Noodles were thick and chewy. Also, they bill you by the can of soda, and no free refills. They also add an automatic 15% gratuity to ALL tabs. Which I think is to their detriment because I am typically a generous tipper. If they think they're only worth 15%, so be it. That's what I will agree too. However, I think that by adding in a “service fee”, people may not realize this is part of the charges and I personally feel it's an underhanded way to get a bigger tip by people who don't really pay attention to that stuff. Overall, I will not return.

Bamboo Garden Restaurant

This place has delicious food. I dont eat out much but decided to splurge one night because I miss Chinese food so much. Went here, ordered 2 meals so that I would have enough food for 4 days, and before tip, the cost was about $20. Not bad at all.I ordered to go so did not sit inside the restaurant while I ate, but I was at the front and had a good look around while my food was being cooked. They have an aquarium in the front which keeps the kiddies busy, and me, as well. Restaurant seemed clean enough, and some days they have a good crowd, other days dont see a lot of diners.Food was finished rather quickly...a little quicker than I expected so I have no idea if the meals are made in bulk beforehand or if the chef is that good. Doesnt matter, my mouth watered the entire way home smelling the aroma from the to go bag, and I was not disappointed when I took my first bite.I hope that this place stays around and continues to offer Chinese food to this community. Its really needed as this area doesnt seem to have much variety otherwise. With Teriyaki King in Modesto gone, and the one on the other side of the parking lot from this restaurant having its health issues...which is a HUGE disappointment...this is all I have left. Its really good...so as long as they continue to stay in business and use food safety measures, Ill be happy.

Sengs Restaurant

We had a bad experience with this place and decided not to come anymore until today we decided to give it a chance because Panda is falling off as well and we don't know any other places to go. Well we ordered the almond shrimp and had 6 shrimp with about 2 bunches of celery and bell peppers and mushrooms. Needless to say that it was disappointing the other food was bland and sauce looked like it had been sitting for a week. All in all this was our last visit to this place. Save yourself some bucks and eat leftovers before wasting money here.

Kobe Sushi Buffet
1700 McHenry Ave Suite 65B-192, Modesto, CA 95350, United States
We have dined at this place on numerous occasions and honestly, our experience here have been hit and miss. There have been days we have come here and enjoyed our meal, from the sushi to the buffet style plates in the rear of the restaurant.  On other occasions, the sushi as well as the buffet fare wasnt up to our expectations.Having a sushi restaurant in the central valley isnt unusual but you would think they would be more common near touristy areas. We were told that this particular restaurant was buffet style, which was all the encouragement we needed.  Especially since, my son and I can put a lot of sushi away! The exterior of the establishment is plain and sits in a big lot and the location itself is off the main thorough fareUpon entering, you immediately notice a center island (bar) with stools all the way around the classic sushi boat (conveyor belt of small wooden boats floating in water with small plates of sushi). There are numerous tables all around this sushi bar and in order to get seating here, its typically recommended you arrive when the place opens.Seating at the bar is usually the first to go, especially during the weekend and at dinner service where they offer several more selections of sushis thats not afforded during the noon service.Along the rear of the sushi bar is an assortment of other Asian dishes from Chow Mein noodles, Fried Rice, Egg Rolls, to desserts.Once seated, you are greeted by your server who will take your order for beverages or other items from a menu that you can order.  They will also take specific sushi orders but it costs extra. For us, we typically stick with whatever sushi floats in front of us!  Weve come to this restaurant on numerous times over the years and a lot of their traditional sushi, i.e., squid, salmon, tuna, and other delectables have been eliminated from their afternoon fare but like I said, can be ordered for an additional fee.In its place are cooked items which take away from the traditional form of sushi, which has raw ingredients.  They served a crab sushi which of course is artificially flavored fish that tastes like crab.  Cucumber roll, tempura roll, etc.Bottom line is that for $9.95 + Tax for lunch (Mon-Sat 11:00am-3:30pm) and $16.95 + Tax for dinner (5:00pm-9:00pm) its still worth the price.  Their open 11:00am-9:00pm on Sundays.** They offer discounts for Senior Citizen, Law Enforcement, Military, and Fire Department etc. **

Tasty Thai
3020 Floyd Ave #105, Modesto, CA 95355, United States
We enjoyed our dining experience here! An out-of-towner, I’ve been trying to eat here (located almost a stone’s throw from a relative’s house) since MARCH 2015! But the stars never aligned until this trip. Ironically, over a week in Modesto and this was the only restaurant we ate at.We started with the Calamari. My daughter doesn’t like spicy so I thought we ordered the Spicy Garlic, sans spicy so just garlic, however I do not recall a garlic taste. The calamari are very large rings, not lots of little pieces. We each had about 3 pieces, so there are 9-10 pieces to a serving. My daughter had the Fried Rice. She ordered chicken but received beef, but stated the beef tasted good so we didn’t mention it to anyone. It’s QUITE a large portion. We also ordered the Pad Thai to share. Wherever we go, my husband and I almost always order a Pad Thai to share on top of our entrees. This item was not a highlight for me. It was a deep red color and was missing all the flavors of Pad Thai I expected. I’ll go on to say I’ve noticed differences in food items between the West and East Coasts. Example: Our local Asian take out by my house, a Sushi Pan Asian place near the beach, a Dim Sum Asian Place in Riverside, Morimoto in Orlando, and even an actual Thai restaurant in Downtown Jax have all have similar Pad Thais in appearance and flavor. But in talking with my sister, all the Pad Thai she’s ever had in Modesto is what we experienced at Tasty Thai.My husband ordered the Orange Chicken and it was great. Not too heavily battered, with a light orange flavor.I ordered the Mongolian Beef and I loved it! This too differed from what I’m used to on the East Coast. Here, it’s beef with sliced onions in a sauce. That’s about the extent. At Tasty Thai, there was a generous amount of veggies (mushrooms, white & green onions, and carrots). It was spicy but delicious! The kind of spicy where you can’t stop eating, but your mouth is burning so you just keep shoveling your food in because....you can’t stop! It was a bit oily; it reminded me of the red pepper infused olive oil I had in France. There were red pepper flakes present to warn you of its spice.ALL the employees were very friendly and accommodating! We thoroughly enjoyed our experience.Unfortunately I wasn’t able to get any pictures because I was holding my 5 month old the entire time....and she wasn’t sleeping but actively reaching for anything on the table she could.
