Sumo Japanese Restaurant
1714 Newbury Road # C # C, Newbury Park, CA 91320, United States
This is our favorite restaurant in Newbury Park, sushi or otherwise!Their prices on the basic rolls (California roll, tuna roll, etc.) are very reasonable for dine-in, and they have Happy Hour specials every day from 3-6 and 8:30 to closing. The salmon skin roll is our favorite, we also love the cucumber sunomoto and the salmon collar. This restaurant can be fairly noisy and bustling, so its good for kids. The decor is modern with an Asian vibe (of course!)The only drawback is they are usually pretty busy, if you get there after 5:30, there will probably be a wait!
Panda Express
2690 Teller Rd, Newbury Park, CA 91320, United States
I really enjoy eating at Panda Express. Theyre a little more on the expensive side in terms of fast food restaurants so its kind of a special treat when I do go there for my family. My problem is with the soy sauce. I happen to really enjoy my Chinese food a lot more when I have soy sauce with it. For some reason at Panda Express they make you ask for the soy sauce when youre at the register after you pay for your order. That is fine. But when the cashier acts as though they are going way out of their way to get you some or simply lies to you completely about putting some in your bag already, thats what irks me. Thats exactly what happened to me three nights ago. I didnt realize until I got home, a few miles away from the store that the cashier lied to my face and put no soy sauce packets in my bag. They act like the cost for those packets come out of their daily wages or something. I realize I can go to the grocery store and buy some for myself which is what Ill do, but my point is thats something they provide with your meal there and why should I be made to feel like Im bothering the staff for asking for some or just flat out be lied to? I know Im not the only person who feels this way about Panda Express, Ive spoken to many people who all feel the same way. I wonder how many customers theyve lost over this.
Top other services in Newbury Park:
Sushi Yusho
2365 Michael Dr, Newbury Park, CA 91320, United States
Sushi Yusho is old school Japanese: traditional. Steve is a trained sushi master, trained in Japan and has so many years of experience. Sashimi is fresh and of high quality. Menu is priced accordingly and quality food is not cheap and well worth the cost which actually isn’t overpriced. Steve and Judy are beyond fair and portion sizes are highly appropriate for Japanese food. Restaurant is very clean and authentic Japanese food is outstanding in freshness, flavor and presentation is impeccable. For an Asian delight highly recommend Sushi Yusho.
Mirchi Indian Cuisine
2110 Newbury Rd A, Newbury Park, CA 91320, United States
In a “desert” of boring, flavorless, bland south Asian restaurants in this area, Mirchi is a a gift from heavens! Excellent service also from the young student Miraj who so professionally made our visit even more worthwhile…. We are coming back for more!
Seven Spice Kitchen
2454 W Hillcrest Dr #102, Newbury Park, CA 91320, United States
I have never ever ate a meal where I instantly didn't feel good. I brushed my teeth three times and could not get their food's taste out of my mouth and now 17 hours later I still feel nauseous. I will never ever eat here again. My teen wanted to go here and get some thing quick because we were rushing. I have definitely learned my lesson, never again. There was so much sodium and so much MSG. I can't believe it's a day later and I still feel so so sick. The food was not fresh, I felt like I was eating food that was maybe a week old. I still taste this awful food in my mouth, a day later & still nauseous ?
Newbury Park Village
1015 Broadbeck Dr, Newbury Park, CA 91320, United States
I call this restaurant row. Daphnes, the Habit, Mod Pizza, Bbq, Islands, Presto Pasta... if youre not sure what you want to eat... great place. Theres also a Subway sandwich and some Asian Bowl place at the other end. All foods covered here.
Love Pho Cafe
2140 Newbury Rd, Newbury Park, CA 91320, United States
My family is Asian and this is the best Vietnamese restaurant in the area. This is one of the few places that my whole family including my grandparents can agree on. The pho is always fresh and the service is quick and polite. Ordering is always simple and easy because many people on the phone and in-person speak Vietnamese. They always get orders right. Overall, this is a great restaurant and if you are looking to support a great business you should definitely come to Love Pho and More Cafe.
Country Harvest Restaurant
3345 Kimber Dr # C, Newbury Park, CA 91320, United States
Whether you love breakfast or just enjoy a good breakfast occasionally, you know how hard it is to locate a good breakfast joint. If that is you, I suggest you come check this place out. There are a few descent breakfast restaurants near me (In the Simi Valley Area) but I had not found one that I REALLY enjoy. When it comes to restaurants, I consider everything about it, which determines how I feel towards it. This is especially true when it comes to restaurants that focus on breakfast, I would try to elaborate but it is hard to explain so instead I will continue with my review. What makes this place better than those places is their food which looks as good as it taste and lets not forget the portions which can totally be shared between two individuals. Another thing that makes this place great is that they seem to have special activities, décor, etc when it comes to festivities (Check the pictures and youll see what I mean) like when we can which was 4th of July so the place had flags all over which gave it that extra touch. Another thing is if you come on your birthday, you will get a free meal AND you can bring your own alcoholic beverages and there is not even a corkage fee, which blew my mind and if you do not believe me just check out the pictures I posted. In addition, this place is pretty big and accommodating. The day we came a family of about 20 were celebrating something and they had arranges the tables accommodation everyone to sit in one huge row and for those beautiful sunny days there is seating outside. The only thing I did not like about this place is the décor, which to me its part of the whole enchilada which is the reason why I am not giving them 5 stars. I plan to make this my new breakfast place and I hope they eventually do get around to their décor, which in reading the reviews some of us do have issues with it.
Dong Ting Spring
520 N Ventu Park Rd Ste. 150, Newbury Park, CA 91320, United States
I have tried to eat at this restaurant three times now. In looking at the menu, I’ve always wanted to try it because it looks so authentic. This matters to me as I grew up in San Francisco and always respected true, non-Americanized Asian cuisine. It sounds crazy to say in this day and age in California, but it’s made clear they really have no interest in serving people of other backgrounds. Which absolutely floors me. Friends from all around the world I know enjoy Chinese food. To not want to serve someone of a different culture is just sad.I would suggest not ignoring people when they walk in the door to patronize your establishment. Everyone should be considered a good customer that’s cones in.
