Kaki Sushi Restaurant
3120 Santa Rita Rd g, Pleasanton, CA 94566, United States
I went there to eat for the first time with my wife because the reviews seemed solid with over 400 reviews and it fell short. I call Kaki Sushi shortly after my experience letting them know I wanted to tell the manager or experience and no one has returned my call. This leads me to believe they do not care about their customers and how they can improve.I have eaten at probably every sushi restaurant in Pleasanton and many in Dublin and this was sadly the worst around.I ordered the ika fry and it was too chewy and the oil it was fried in was old. I have made ika dry at home and mine might not have been as tasty but it was not chewy or cooked in burned oil. I also ordered a roll and bento box, not special at all. The salmon in the bento box wasnt flavored, rather tasteless. The miso soup was also lacking some flavor, I could confidently say my home made miso soup was more tasty.I am still hoping someone from the restaurant will call me back so I can let them know of my experience. To make up for this experience Im looking to go back to my go-to sushi spot Meiko and Zakuro.Update: July 16.$97 was a lot for a family of 5, where the three kids dont eat much, one only eats rice. Maki rolls seemed small for the cost (comparing to other local Japanese spots), the server seemed rush, came and took the order and rushed away. Food was okay, nothing special. The ambience is very nice, probably the best part.
P.F. Changs
1330 Stoneridge Mall Rd, Pleasanton, CA 94588, United States
My third time in PF Chang’s was actually my first time in 4 years because on previous visits I was not impressed at all. So I gave a shot hoping something got changed, unfortunately, food is still terrible but waiters are amazing. Usually if you don’t see Asian customers in ‘Asian’ restaurant it’s a serious sign, and we didn’t see any
Bonchon Pleasanton
2725 Stoneridge Dr Suite 109, Pleasanton, CA 94588, United States
First time visiting Bonchon....here are my impressions:1. service is good...attentive and friendly.2. food:a)edamame for appetizer was a rather small portion, enough for two people, but not much there. What shocked me was they charge $6.95 for what amounts to be a $0.50 serving. Other than salt, was rather bland, so how can they justify that price?b)Japchae-very delicious...I enjoyed this dish. Having said that, the portion was rather small....not that much meat, yet, the price was $15.95. Not a great value at all in my opinion.c)Bull Dak: this was freaking spicy! I mean, really, really spicy! But the flavors and textures were good, and the portion size was generous. But be prepared....this one had my lips on fire for an hour after the meal!3. the rest.....a)the plastic cups used for beverages looked like they were bought at a yard sale...extremely crazed (plastic had fine cracks all throughout). b)the acoustics in the restaurant were terrible. Everyones voices seemed like they were yelling, and the waitress actually turned UP the volume on the sound system, making the soundscape sound terrible between very loud music and peoples voices echoing all over the placec) we asked for a takeout container as we had leftovers...they added $0.30 to our bill for the takeout container!!!!! I had never heard of this in my entire life being charged for a takeout container!!!So, in conclusion, I dont think I will be returning. I think the food is very overpriced, and I did not enjoy the environment....they really should look at adding sound absorbing materials to address this. And stop charging customers for takeout containers...that is insulting.
Pho Saigon City
4275 Rosewood Dr #21, Pleasanton, CA 94588, United States
On a rare day of rain and cold we thought a soup place would be appropriate. So we choose to go for Pho. I liked the casual atmosphere when entering and the fast service. The menu can be quite overwhelming if you havent had Pho in a while but once you figure out the possible variations it starts to make much more sense. I have to tell you, I feel like I got very good value for the money I paid. I am not an expert of Asian cuisine but I really like Pho and I loved this particular location, which also happens to be in a very convenient location with plenty of parking space.
India Garden
210 Rose Ave, Pleasanton, CA 94566, United States
After moving from Fremont this has kind of become my to-go Indian restaurant for just about any craving we get be it Indo-Chinese, Biriyani, Catering etc. Met these guys catering to one of my firends house warming party and food was amazingly done + the service was also commendable. As usual I pulled up my Yelp app and saw a pretty disappointing 3 stars, my conclusion at that point was probably they cater well but in general they may not be at par.My first to-go order was when we had this weird indo-chinese craving and this was one of the closest restuarant that had manchurian and hakka noodles on their menu. So, called them up around closing time to see the menu availability and instead of saying some crap they agreed to whatever we asked for + made it amazingly tasty. This was the start of our love affair with this place.I am big time Biriyani addict and with our regular Lotus Indian not on the way this became our to-go destination for Biriyanis and believe me they really make some awesome lip-smacking biriyanis my personal favorites being Vijaywada, Chicken Dum & the curry one called Ulvaracharu Goat Biriyani. Even their Chicken 65, mirchi bajji are good as appetizers.Special mention for their mutton curry this was when I got them catering for a B-Day party at home, all my guests simply went nuts for the mutton. It was really soft, nicely textured meat with perfect spice combination. We almost ended up having no left-overs.We are at a point where almost all of our friends are getting party catering from these people and they seldom disappoint. The only negative point I see is the restaurant buffet quality has to be improved and food has to be rotated more often.Except vegetable dum biriyani all other vegetarian options are not great and their Rotis are plain horrible. In spite of these fallbacks they are still gonna be in the top of my list for biriyanis, mutton curry and non-veg appetizers till they drop-down on quality (Which i hope never happens).**Review has been written after getting To-Gos almost 60 times / 3 in-house catering /10+ friends catering party
Sushi Hanabi
Sushi hanabi, 927 Main St #A, Pleasanton, CA 94566, United States
Cute little place with an impressive menu, including a specials menu of fish flown in internationally. Weve been here a few times and enjoyed their okonomiyaki (which is impossible to find in the tri valley area) and special rolls. Most recently, Husband and I shared hamachi toro from the specials menu (sooooo good!!!) and the signature sushi set for 2. The sushi set comes with miso soup (very gentle flavor...perhaps white miso?) and salad (really liked the tangy dressing), 6 pieces chefs choice sashimi, 6 pieces chefs choice nigiri, and you pick 2 rolls from their popular rolls menu. Rolls were good, but we thought their sashimi and nigiri were Hanabis strength. When realized they had brought us one of the wrong rolls, they made us the right one and let us take the wrong one home. Excellent customer service!!This place is very popular and often has a wait. There is a small parking lot, but weve never had trouble getting a spot. Ive only ever seen 2 wait staff working at a time, so service can feel a little slow compared to other places, but its really not that bad.
Kura Revolving Sushi Bar
2725 Stoneridge Dr #113, Pleasanton, CA 94588, United States
As someone who has been to the location at Convoy San Diego, this location is a huge disappointment. We were a party of 4, checked in at 9pm, and was seated at 9:30pm. First thing I noticed, is that the table and seats were not wiped down properly, there was residue from the last customers. Next, the server that brought the drinks, soy sauce pan, and wasabi basically threw or dropped the items on the table. Next, there was another server that explained how things worked, also told us that the tablet would stop taking orders at 9:45. As there was basically no food on the belt, we had to use the tablet. And not only that, it also limited the orders we could place. At around 9:45 the tablet stopped working, we wanted to order more food but nobody came to check on us for a while so we pressed for the call button. We noticed that the servers went to the other tables to see how other customers were doing, but seemed to just disregard us. It took them about 10 minutes when we called out to one of them passing by before they noticed us, and we asked if we could order more food, that same server who told us the tablet would stop taking orders at 9:45pm, said the kitchen closes at 9:45pm, and the only option by that time was to get the bill, so not only was she going against what she had told us initially. She wasnt being apologetic at all, she wasnt even making an effort to somehow make it a better experience for us. It just makes no sense to still be taking customers at that point, if we only have 10-15 minutes to eat. Where is the courtesy reminder? How do we even get to enjoy this? Apart from the horrible customer service (the host also had very dramatic long leopard sort of print of nails which is the first time Ive ever seen in a food service environment), the quality of the food just cant compare to the SD location. The nigiri rice broke off. The overall experience was just horrible, we would never come to this location again.
Time Thai Kitchen Pleasanton
929 Main St ste c, Pleasanton, CA 94566, United States
One of my new fav thai spots in the area! yay!!Alright, lets get down to business.Parking: street, or theres a small lot in the plaza behind.Inside: really cute, but very small, so tables are limited. They have a couple small tables outside as well. I see a lot of to go orders so we know the food is good!!The taste buds want:Fried Chicken Pad Thai, ok I never knew I needed this in my life. It is sooo good and sooo fresh! highly recommend.Roti appetizer: honestly for the money I think its REALLLY small. Very greasy too, curry dip is good. The flavors are good but you get more of your moneys worth with other itemsKhao Sao: Overall flavors are good, noodles cooked correctly. My only wish was that the beef was a little more tender.Orange Wheat beer: light and refreshing. Hints of orange come in the aftertaste.Pineapple fried rice: the wok seasoning you can taste that perfect smokiness. Definitely a fav for mePad Kee Mao: Also another great dish, noodles always cooked correctly.I really should stop writing reviews around lunch, always makes me so hungry!!
Panda Express
4001 Santa Rita Rd, Pleasanton, CA 94588, United States
Update: 3.20.24 Not greeted when I was standing at the counter. Server glanced up at me, said, Just a minute, and began combining freshly made food with whatever remained in the woks already at the serving counter. So I waited for her to finish, and she then said, What do you want? What do you want? (Yes, twice.) I requested a Panda plate (2 entrees & one side), with eggplant tofu and chow mein side. Chow mein portion was good, and it was fresh. After starting to spoon the first eggplant tofu serving, server said, What else do you want? I replied, Eggplant tofu, please. Both entrees the same. Thanks, but she didnt get it, and said again, What do you want? as she was using a serving spoon to point where the second entree would go on the plate. So I repeated again, still politely, Eggplant tofu, please. I would like two portions of the same dish, both eggplant tofu. She got it that time. I wasnt really watching what she was spooning into the plate, but was really disappointed when I got home that the portions were very small. One side had only 2 really small cubes of tofu (1/2 square - never have had tofu cubed this small at any Panda Express) with 3 pieces of eggplant, the other had four 1/2“ cubes of tofu and 2 pieces of eggplant. I shouldve taken a picture, but didnt think about it until I had already started eating. Tofu is cheap. Its the primary source of protein in that meal. I paid nearly $14 for approximately 1/10 of a standard slab of tofu with about one half of a Chinese eggplant. There was ONE tiny piece of yellow bell pepper in each of the two eggplant portions. Its important to note that the actual plates they are using seem to be the same size but the depth of the indentations where food is placed on the plates is reduced significantly now. So even if I had gotten a bigger portion, it might look more generous, but is still overall smaller than the portions prior to this change in their plates and cartons. Also, there was nothing left in the serving dish, so rather than asking me to wait a few minutes for the chef to prepare more eggplant tofu, she took the one portion that was left & divided it into two.Yes, this is LOTS of detail, as Im hoping someone at this Panda will read this review and make necessary changes, but while they cant do anything about the pretty sneaky smaller plates, they could still give a fair portion size.Interestingly, both people ahead of me, who were ordering honey walnut shrimp, orange chicken, etc. received surprisingly generous portions.I will add that the cashier was friendly & I suspect that she was a manager, but I did not get her name.I dont know that I will be coming back to Panda Express at all, as I have had ongoing issues with even finding eggplant tofu, add now, increased prices, with smaller servings. The imperfect orange chicken was sadly canceled not long after they introduced it, which was super disappointing, and Panda has not introduced a single vegan-ish entree in years besides the imperfect orange chicken or the eggplant tofu. We dont understand that, and unlike other restaurants where you could hold the cheese, a dressing, butter etc., Panda Express entrees are not easily adaptable even if they were willing to customize, which they are not, & are very oriented toward meats and seafood.Lastly, I ordered a drink intending to have their freshly brewed iced tea. All they had were Coke products. The brewing machine for tea was on the counter, but not being used, just like last time. So I had nothing to drink as I dont drink coke, etc......................One of the few Panda Express locations that actually has eggplant tofu. However, it did not look particularly fresh and there was only enough for a medium sized serving. It still tasted good however. Lots of chow mein freshly made. Steamed stir fried vegetables were fresh & nicely seasoned - lots of broccoli! Restaurant appeared clean, disappointed that the sweet tea was empty. Cashier was friendly. would go to this location again even though it is somewhat out of our way.
Panda Express
6774 Bernal Ave, Pleasanton, CA 94588, United States
I dont know what happened to this location recently but during my most 2 recent visits, they handed out so little food for my bigger plate, it makes me not want to come back here anymore. The fried noodles only filled up around 75% of the area where the noodles are put. This this most recent visit, they didnt even bother giving me fortune cookies. How cheap, and I sure as heck taking that survey that is written on the recipe to tell corporate how horrible this location is.
