Kung Fu Noodles
557 W Channel Islands Blvd, Port Hueneme, CA 93041, United States
My Mom and I have been waiting so long for this place to open, and we were finally able to try it today. The wait was worth it! Boba milk tea was not sweet and the boba was the perfect consistency. I'm not a seafood eater, but have been wanting to try takoyaki since I saw it in my favorite anime years ago, and man, Kungfu Noodles did not disappoint! There were at least two pieces of calamari in my piece of takoyaki and I couldn't even tell it was seafood - It was delicious! The beef noodle soup is (since I'm currently eating it) so good: It smells amazing, the beef tastes so good and doesn't have any fat, the broth is so good and the noodles are thin and tasty. The complimentary mango smoothie was very impressive and tasted so good too! Mom said we'll have to go back and try the taro :) My family and I will definitely go back to sample the rest of the small but delicious (I'm sure) menu :) The staff was kind and friendly too. Thank you for dinner!
Ragin Pot
301 W Channel Islands Blvd, Port Hueneme, CA 93041, United States
A pleasant surprise to find this only Hot Pot restaurant in the Port Hueneme area, or maybe even the whole of Ventura County. The place has a welcoming vibe. The tables, chairs, floor and the walls are simple, neat and adds to the character of the place. The food, an Asian Fusion Hot Pot, was really good. The Raging Special Hot Pot was flavorful but not overwhelming. I liked the egg roll and it reminded me of the Filipino dish Lumpia. The Fried Chicken Wings was soft inside, crunchy outside and not too salty. The restrooms are clean and well stocked. The parking is free and shared with the other tenants of the plaza. The owner, John, was very friendly and accommodating.I highly recommend this restaurant for your next meal.

Very fresh ingredients. Generous, reasonably priced Vietnamese dishes. The owner is friendly and helpful with questions about the various dishes. The shrimp and pork spring rolls are my go to. The combination fried rice is delicious. Casual, friendly and family oriented dining atmosphere. My favorite neighborhood Asian restaurant.
Mandarin House Restaurant
475 W Channel Islands Blvd, Port Hueneme, CA 93041, United States
We absolutely love love love ❤️??? the Mandarin House you cannot get anything better. No matter what I have chosen to eat whether its the shrimp and broccoli (which is on there healthy menu, although most of their menu is healthy) the chicken chow mein, or the manchurian beef (which is so tender it just melts in your mouth) it all amazing. I have eaten most things on their menu and honestly have never once been disappointed . If youre looking for something spicy they can take care of that as well with szechuan shredded beef, or rainbow chicken.I have been coming here since I was born and my parents even before that over 35 years. We love the owners Jennifer and Richard. This is a GREAT place to take a date or just to go out with the family. They have many different alcoholic beverages my absolute favorite is the ZOMBIE but they have many to choose from. If youre looking for just some appetizers the Poo Poo tray is amazing. This has a few of everything fried shrimp, beef kabobs, eggrolls, pork spare ribs and depending on how many people is how big of a portion you will get. Everyone can order there food individually or you can do it family style were aa few entrees are chosen and everyone just spins the lazy Susan to share the meal. They have dessert too. All and all The Mandarin House is the ABSOLUTE BEST PLACE AROUND IF YOURE LOOKING FOR ASIAN QUIZNE!! I and P.s they offer takeout too you just need to call ahead and pick it up. I wont go anywhere else. Thanks again Jennifer and Richard, and be seeing you guys really soon

Chinese Dumpling House
575 W Channel Islands Blvd, Port Hueneme, CA 93041, United States
Been going here for over 15 years- still loving the food and atmosphere and missing it since I moved away, I stop by frequently whenever Im in the area visiting. For lunch just the right portion sizes with a variety of options, all coming with an appetizer, salad, and main course (you can still order from the regular menu as well). For dinner, you can order the family style 3-4 course meal specials (which come out in succession and give you time to enjoy each course) or order a la carte from their family style entrées.My favorites are: lemon chicken, sesame chicken or beef, beef & broccoli, pork lomein. For apps: cream cheese fried wontons cant be beat, the pot stickers have the most delicious sauce youll want to pour all over everything you eat. They also have a great pupu platter with a little fire cup so you can add some fun to your food. The service has always been great, Jenny the owner is gracious and caring. Ive only ever seen one group be upset with the service on a very crowded evening and several guests including myself told them off when they were being blatantly rude and talking down to the staff. Lots of repeat customers and regulars- not to mention its next to the military base so manners are a big deal.Over the years the decor (and size) has changed a lot from a hole in the wall/hallway with plastic tables and chairs to a large dining room with plush booths and contemporary Asian artwork on the walls to a little gift shop area showcasing a lot of the jewelry the owner makes during non-peak hours. Ive bought several pieces for myself and as gifts and they are extremely high quality and beautiful.
Navy Exchange
NBVC 130, 23rd Ave Ste. 2, Building No. 1512, Port Hueneme, CA 93043, United States
This is quite possibly the worst exchange Ive ever been to. Its not the fault of the staff; Ive probably only encountered 2 grumpy employees out of the huge # of staff that work there. The issues are that you simply cant shop there in the summer because they, for some reason, wont fix the ac so it actually cools off the store. Its literally so hot in there that you feel like youre going to pass out. Ive literally had to walk out with nothing before because I was getting too sick from the heat to get what I came for and most other base residents say they dont even go in there in the summer. The other issue is that they never get restocked. Because they never get restocked, no one can buy the products, and because no one can buy the products, the computer thinks theres no reason to restock because no ones buying it anyway. Its the dumbest situation you can imagine in retail. The NEX is located right next to base housing and the barracks, so its mostly frequented by enlisted personnel. However, what they do stock is not aimed at enlisted and their families. Ex: they, for some nonsensical reason, got rid of all the normal purse brands you can afford on an enlisted income (like Kipling) and only stock purses no one can afford except high ranking officers wives (like Coach). Then they tell you no ones buying the purses they have so they cant expand their offerings. Yeah, because youre not selling purses anyone can afford. They dont stock basic first aid supplies like saline wound wash, theyll be sold out of Purina Kitten Chow for several months, they dont carry typical accessories for the current main Samsung models... normal things you find at normal places on and off base. On top of all that, they have the most limited hours Ive ever seen at an exchange. Its beyond bizarre and so disappointing.
