Miyuki Restaurant
452 E Lake Ave, Watsonville, CA 95076, United States
Appearance: slightly run down and in need of a new coat of paint, etc but also charming and has a comfortable, relaxed feeling to it that feels welcomingMenu: good selection of Japanese food with traditional dishes as wellFood: We ordered Sukiyaki beef which was quality beef in an overly salty broth; still edible but definitely only with mouthfuls of the vegetables. It came with miso and a typical salad of iceberg lettuce, a slice of tomato and red cabbage with a delicious sesame dressing. The miso was quite good, but standard. Very balanced and light flavors. We also ordered Rainbow roll, unagi-avocado roll, and ume-shiso roll. All were standard. The Rainbow roll was prepared with a clear seaweed sheet on top that made it appear plastic but it added no overt flavor to the roll, which was delicious and fresh.Service: friendly and helpful, prompt and relaxedPrice: fair and good for what we orderedOverall Impression: This is one of the only quality restaurants open till 9 on a weeknight in Watsonville. It feels like a family-owned place that has been there for over 25 years. It is serving good, quality Japanese food and I would recommend it to anyone who is used to standard Japanese food in the US. It is definitely a diamond in the rough.
Golden China Restaurant
1866 Main St, Watsonville, CA 95076, United States
I have always gone to golden China it was always a go to restaurant for me. Yesterday I went with a couple of friends and we were all having a great time. The food shows up we start eating the service is great until of my friend's finds a hair! He is disgusted and tells the waiter to take the plate he doesn't want it because there is a hair on his chow mein. The waiter comes back furious and raises his voice saying “that is not hair that is a bean sprout” we were all confused like saying that is definatly a hair! He comes back drops our bill. At this point we are hardly done with our plate and my friend wasn't offered another meal or anything. We were waiting to see if they would offer us a to go box but nothing so we ended up leaving everything there. We go up to pay and the manager starts telling my friend a bunch of rude things and he tells her he should of altleast been offered another plate. Moral of this is that if you find a hair in your food please take pictures cause they deny everything!!
Panda Express
20 Ohlone Pkwy Space #202, Watsonville, CA 95076, United States
Our experience was absolutely ridiculous! We began trying to order but the girl at the counter was barely listening and then tried to complete our order before were done ordering, then gave the last of the sesame chicken I ordered to the person behind me, put our 3 plates off next to the register getting cold for about 10 minutes then when the other girl picked it up as we were paying then decided to put it under the glass. After we paid, we continued to wait another 30 minutes for the sesame chicken. In that time they were serving the chicken to people behind us. When I asked for a refund because I was tired of waiting about 45 minutes to get my order and eat my dinner. The gal offered me store credit because they dont do refunds. Then one of the other girls took my order back out of the case again putting out to get cold, then the chicken was done for the 3rd time, I assumed Id finally get my order then again the chicken was going to others then I asked to have my order redone because this is the 2nd time its been pulled from the heat and if it wasnt getting cold it was most likely getting gross, they told me theyd do it. Which was a lie because again they were running out of everything we ordered and asked if we wanted something else or wed be made to wait another 30 minutes for everything to be completed by that time it would have been over a hour and a half by the time wed actually eat. Which was not happening I told my husband I was over it to get a refund and I walked out as soon as I walked out then they told him our order was complete for the 10th time because the first 9 times they said our order was complete except for the chicken again and then we were missing the shrimp. Then to top it off the small carton of shrimp on my husbands bigger plate was all vegetables and 1 shrimp. And when I finally received my double sesame chicken there wasnt even enough to fill the 2 sides and my chow mein was cold. Needless to say we waited almost a hour to get our order it was no way as full as all the other orders before and after ours, the food was mostly vegetables and cold. I will never go back to this panda ever again! I was disappointed in every aspect of the word. If I could have I would have given them no stars whatsoever

Sanka Mochan Hanumn Temple -- Reservations Requ...
445 Summit Rd, Watsonville, CA 95076, United States
Reservations are required for weekends/holidays and can be made on their website at 9am (if the visit date is close). The reservations can get full before 9.30am and you will have to login next day at 9am to make one. If you have any qs, call them and the management is very helpful on the phone. They have limited parking spots and the reservation system is to maintain that efficiently. The management is mostly non- Indian. If you are thinking of a meal reservation, expect lentil soup with pasta/enchiladas. We were camped at Mt.Madonna and decided to make a visit to the temple. After some research, we made reservations & decided to go for the 6pm Arthi during our stay at the campground. Nice quaint temple on the Madonna hills and 10 min drive from Madonna county park. The Hanumanji mandir is well taken care of and you can see the bhakti of the people caring for it. The Arthi was good, there was prasad (sheera/vada/fruits) thereafter. We visited their cafe, the samosas got over by 5pm, chai was still available but it was the worst chai Ive ever had. From the cafe, theres a nice hilltop view. Overall a nice visit to the temple, feels like a quaint countryside.
Kongs Burger & Cafe
15 E Beach St #101, Watsonville, CA 95076, United States
We have found our breakfast burrito spot! Kongs makes a really filling burrito that wont disappoint. It is not very greasy and everything is fresh, and the portion you get is more than enough to fill you up. Kongs also has an orange sauce that they make homemade and it is AMAZING! My husband asked for a small cup on the side and it goes great on the breakfast burrito. If you go here, never leave without that sauce it goes great on anything.Pretty much everything on the menu is really good whether its breakfast or lunch you are looking for this place wont disappoint. I believe all the ingredients used are organic and he and his wife have a very healthy cooking style. The bibimbap is my absolute favorite item. Its very healthy and always fresh, much better than imuras dish. Definitely one of our favorite spots to eat in watsonville.
Imura Japanese Restaurant
1994 Main St, Watsonville, CA 95076, United States
All in all, the food seems subpar and was not filling at all. I called to make a to-go order and asked if the Miso and tempura were vegan. The girl said the miso could be made vegan without the fish flakes but that the temperature had egg. So I ask for a to-go order of the Teriyaki tofu which came with miso and rice and she told me it also came with a salad. I asked about the salad dressing, if it had eggs, dairy, or fish, and she said she thought it had Dairy but she wasnt sure. I didnt get the vibe that she wanted to go and ask so I just asked for no dressing. She told me it would take about 15 minutes and I showed up about 10 minutes later, paid for the food, went to the restroom, and came out and the food was not ready I waited for another 10 minutes inside the restaurant. When I got the food she tied the to go bag so I was unable to see until I got to the car. She handed me the Miso soup and it was so hot it burned my hand. I opened it up and the hot rice and plain tofu were sitting in a box with a cold salad. If this is what they think Teriyaki tofu is they are sadly mistaken. I was excited when I saw all the tofu dishes on the menu, but if this is how they cook tofu then I probably will not be coming back here. I went back in and asked for teriyaki sauce because I did not see any on the tofu and told her I didnt think it was a good idea to put a cold salad in a box with hot tofu and hot rice. It took 5 minutes to get the smallest box they had with plain lettuce and a side of theyre not very good teriyaki sauce. I went out to my car to eat the food, because I knew that it would not be hot if I went to where I was going, but unfortunately it was already cold. The rice tasted dirty, the tofu was grilled on only one side with little to no sauce, the salad was warm, besides the small box that they gave me on the side, and this miso soup is so salty I cannot eat it. The side of tofu that didnt get grilled was put down on top of a bed of mixed lettuce and cabbage and the Cabbage absorbed into the bottom of the tofu making it not very appealing. A couple years ago I got some sushi from here that wasnt very good but I figured because this was a different kind of food maybe it wouldnt be that bad, but I am definitely disappointed. I dont think I will be coming back.
California Grill and Bar
40 Penny Ln, Watsonville, CA 95076, United States
Our family loves this restaurant! The food is fresh and grown organically and locally. The staff and waiters are all very kind and helpful. Everything on the menu is excellent. Personal favorites; chilaquiles for breakfast, the asian chicken salad for lunch and tri tip steak for dinner. They also have delicious appetizers. Honestly, love everything on their menu, now Im hungry!
Pho Kitchen & Boba Tea
1983 Main St, Watsonville, CA 95076, United States
This Vietnamese restaurant is a great addition to the Watsonville scene. Weve tried a few of their soup dishes and the broth is authentic Vietnamese and completely free of MSG! It can be difficult to find Asian restaurants that do not use MSG, so this is a huge plus. Their beef short ribs and noodle dish is very well done - meat so tender that it is falling off the bone. Their Thai iced tea (with or without boba) is the best. Their other beverages are pretty good too. The automated ordering makes for accurate and fast service, so this is a good place to go if you need your meal served promptly. I do think the prices are a bit high, but considering the beating the restaurant business took during covid, I am happy to support good local ones. Highly recommend!
East Lake Village Shopping Center
936 E Lake Ave, Watsonville, CA 95076, United States
They have this beelers chorizo and beelers breakfast ground sausage and I have to say this is absolutely the best breakfast sausage and chorizo that I have ever had! I have tried a lot of different chorizo from a bunch of different markets and grocery stores but every time I get there and cook it it is really saucy and very little meat but this chorizo is all meat in the flavor is absolutely amazing! I drove from Manteca to staff of life just to get these meats. If you try the chorizo and the breakfast ground sausage, you will not be disappointed at all! Thank you staff of life for having a great selection of high quality food
TOGOS Sandwiches
1985 Main St, Watsonville, CA 95076, United States
I went in recently and bought a couple items, handed the man behind the counter a 50, didnt receive a receipt. He said the total and handed me my change. When I got home I realized the guy screwed me over 6 dollars. Maybe it was coincidental? I thought. And it was only six dollars. So I just cut my losses. Recently my father went in and in he too didnt receive a receipt and was screwed over around 10 dollars. Dont get me wrong this is partially our fault for not asking for a receipt and checking the change. But I usually trust that the people behind the counter are being honest. Really dont believe that this was a mistake though. It was the same guy both times! I wont be going here again. Check your change at this place. Make sure to get a receipt!!
