Qin West Noodle

This is a newly opened chinese restaurant in Irvine that has a couple of other branches in Los Angeles. They pretty much specialize in noodles, but has other items like dumplings and fried rice. It doesnt seem like a place where you would open a restaurant because its enclosed by tall apartment buildings. But lo and behold, follow google maps and theres actually a couple of other restaurants next to it too. Parking is limited, but free. However its 30 minute parking, so dont linger around too long.Food: I ordered their medium spicy Guilin soup and it was pretty good. The rice noodles had a nice chew, but was slightly overcooked. The broth was flavorful and had just the right amount of spice for me. And they had a decent portion of thinly beef that was super tender, which was probably the highlight of the dish. Almost all the dishes are around $10, so a really good deal considering how much food they give you.Atmosphere: Its clean and simple. Napkins and wooden chopsticks are set on the table. All the dishes come in disposable bowls and plates, no matter if youre getting it to-go or not. No music is running, which is good during busy times but almost too quiet when there was only me and one other table eating right before their closing time.Overall, Ill have to come back before I make a proper judgement. But for now, Ill give this place a 5 star review just so people will give this place a chance.

Chong Qing Mei Wei Szechuan Restaurant
5406 Walnut Ave suite c, Irvine, CA 92604, United States
My friend and I have gone to this restaurant many times prior to last evening, 7/6/16, and I have ordered take-out several times as well. I was absolutely shocked to find that the prices were considerably higher than they used to be. Were not talking 50 cents or a buck, were talking 2 to 3 dollars MORE per item. When I questioned the manager about this, he said it was the owners decision, to which I replied And not a good one. AND to add insult to injury, they charge $1.00 for rice per item. They charged for rice before, but now with those exorbitant prices, rice should come free with the items ordered. My friend and I noticed that it was not as crowded as it used to be either, and no wonder. We usually order 4 or 5 items, so we can have leftovers, but its so expensive now, we only ordered 3, and didnt have much to take home between us. The bill came to almost $50.00 with tax, and it really should have been $35.00. I am a senior citizen living on social security, and I absolutely cannot afford to ever eat there again. Dont get me wrong, the food is outstanding but I could only give one star because of the prices. Back to Sam Woos next door or on Culver I guess, even though Im partial to Szechuan as opposed to Mandarin. Its just a shame that greed has taken over the owners conscience and spoiled it for everyone else. Can anyone suggest a good Szechuan restaurant whose prices are reasonable?

Noodology - Irvine
15455 Jeffrey Rd #300, Irvine, CA 92618, United States
At around 7:50pm 3/23, we ordered at noodology. We had already ordered one for takeout, but we wanted to eat and order more in the restaurant, so we waited at the entrance. A shorter guy with a hat asked us how many people were in our group, and we said two. He told us to wait about 10 minutes. We asked if we could sit outside, and the waiter said it was fine, so we went through the glass doors that connected the indoor and outdoor seating areas. When we were about to order, we noticed that the outside tables and chairs were a bit dirty, so we were going to go inside to get some napkins to clean them. At that moment, another taller guy with glasses named Jimmy saw me about to open the door, so he came over closed and locked the door. I knocked on the door and asked him to open it. When he did, I told him we wanted to sit outside and get some napkins. He said that we cannot use this door and cannot open it, and that he would bring us utensils. We thanked him, but we thought it was strange that we could eat outside but couldnt go inside. It meant we had to take a long way into the restaurant if we had any need and I dont think we were treated as we should have been. We waited outside for a while, and then Jimmy came over again and told us that there was a table available inside. We said okay and thanked him again. During the 15-20 minutes wait and also that we were eating, there was a lot of noise from a group of high school students at the next table. We noticed that other customers were also looking over at them. We were also bothered by the noise as we seat closer to them. So I politely asked Jimmy if he could ask them to lower their voices a bit. However, Jimmy said that it was their freedom to speak as they wished, and we had no right to interfere. We returned to our seats feeling unhappy about the unreasonable attitude of the server and the noisy neighbors. When the group of girls next to us were leaving, I needed to take an emergency call, so I went outside and closed the door to make the call. At the same time, Jimmy followed me and locked the door right after I closed it. I was so angry that I was shaking and couldnt speak. My partner asked Jimmy why he locked me out and why he had such a bad attitude. He yelled at us and said that he had already told us that the door was not to be opened. We asked why he had to lock it, and he said that other customers would feel cold. But the problem was that I had closed the door immediately after I had opened it, and his attitude towards the noise issue was completely opposite to what he was doing now. As a loyal customer of noodology since 2019, I have ordered from various delivery platforms such as DoorDash, fantuan, and Uber Eats many times, but this was the first time I had encountered such terrible service and dining environment in noodology at Irvine. It makes me question whether noodology provides sufficient training for their staff?

First time ordering. Nice day so we decided to eat outside with our dog. We ordered inside at the counter and they brought out the food quickly! (5 mins- 2pm weekday). I ordered these based on the cashier’s suggestion of popular foods here.Beef rolls 牛肉卷饼- One of the best I tasted among other similar Chinese food restaurants. The beef is thinly cut and tender. Soft pancake rolls. Slightly too much chopped green onions though.House special beef noodle soup (spicy) 红烧牛肉面- Good flavored broth (I asked for less spiciness), generous amounts of tender beef cubes (4), bok choy, cilantro, and egg noodles. Slightly too much oil in broth though but still tasty. We finished everything split between two people and we were full!Prices are reasonable and decent amount of food under $30 in today’s environment!Recommend! Will try their hotpot next time.

Hes Noodle Zone

Because of many good reviews of this place and decided to give it a try. 4 people ordered 4 different noodles soup and 2 appetizers. Everything is delicious. The wonton in chili sauce and the pork skewers are good but a bit spicy. Ordered the Dan Dan noodles with less spicy but still quite spicy because it also has the numbness kick after each bite. The less spicy braised beef noodle soup is flavorful and meat is tender. Beef bone noodles is the most expensive out of the four and the meat is less tender than the braised beef. The mushroom chicken noodle soup is the only non spicy selection in the menu with lots of mushroom flavor. Dan Dan noodles has good flavor but spicy though. If you cannot handle the heat, prefer not to order this but you can order the braised beef noodle with less spicy. Overall all the 6 orders are good and you can get free refills on noodles as long as you still have soup in your bowl which is a good deal. If you love spicy food, this place is must try. If you cannot handle the heat, then your selection is limited and this place may not be good for you.Ordering food is through online menu and very convenient. Food came out quick and no wait in lines. Give it a try if you are in the area.

Tasty Noodle House - Irvine
15333 Culver Dr #320, Irvine, CA 92604, United States
Finally found a good restaurant with homemade vegetarian dumplings and noodles. Came here with my young son and he ate the entire 10 pork dumplings himself while I enjoyed the vegetarian dumplings. Wow, he was hungry & so full at the end of our lunch. I must say the best vegetarian dumplings are at Din Tai Fung. The vegetable noodles are tasty and would order these dishes again. There arent many Chinese restaurants that serve vegetarian dumplings so this is a plus. Restaurant is small so come early or later and definitely come hungry! Service was fine.

Capital Noodle Bar

I came in today craving rice noodles with beef. When the dish arrived it looked fine but as I picked up some of the noodles to eat I noticed a horrible burned smell. I then brought the plate closer to me and took another whiff and oh God was it bad. I highly recommend the owner buy a few new woks for the restaurant instead of cutting cost on kitchen equipment as their chefs literally burned that WOK that they use. You can get the best food in the world then put it in a burned wok and let it smell and taste like burned food. Took the fish back and sent me a new one only to arrive with the same smell and taste. Owner needs to sit down and have a word with his chefs and he can start off by first buying them 4 new woks so they have different WOKS to use for different foods and teach them how to sear the WOKS properly too. Sad how a good meal was ruined due to poor poor restaurant equipment. Can't cut cost on the main item you use to cook meals with and you have to have quite a few so they don't veggies in a WOK they just used to make a heavy sauces item only to ruin the new upcoming dish. Separate WOK for different dishes and replace old WOKs with new WOKS every time they smell burned. Also buy higher quality WOKS as well. People that have not lost their sense of smell and taste after COVID can easily taste and smell the taste of burned food from a bad WOK and taste of other foods in it as well.Came back today as I was craving some Hainan chicken to give them another try. Tried their Hainan chicken and the chicken tasted beyond horrible. It tasted like the cheapest chicken that had gone bad which was then just boiled in water. On a 1-10 scale this Hainan chicken plate was literally a 1. If I was the owner I would fire those responsible but I reckon the owner wants to cut cost so he buys the cheapest chicken and is also not using fresh chicken. Last but not least chef is either beyond horrible or just following manager and owner's orders. Cost me $18.30 to have to leave my dish on the table and leave as it was just horrible. This is good for people who just eat anything and say “Oh wow this was great” ??‍♂️

Zhangliang is a chain restaurant. I've been to several other branches, all are pretty decent with good service and delicious food. But this one is the worst ever.I was asked to checkout with tips BEFORE I can eat, and received zero service at all. There was no bowl at the sauce counter. I talked to the staff for the bowls but nobody was answering. Everyone was pretty occupied and nobody cares. The worst thing is… the food they gave me was not everything I ordered. I'm pretty sure several stuffs were missing. I ordered 3 pounds of food thinking I could pack the leftovers back home for tomorrow's breakfast. But in the end nothing was left. I know exactly one stuff was missing, and several was less in quantities. That was not what I expected for a $50 dinner.Oh btw, they put up a note at the counter saying “If you leave a good review on Google map and/or other platforms we'll offer you some gift.” I guess this is the only reason for the high rating.

I recently dined at Yangguofu, the new malatang restaurant in town, and it was a fantastic experience! The staff was incredibly friendly. What truly stood out was the freshness of their ingredients; you can tell they take pride in offering the best quality. The broth at Yangguofu was a highlight of the meal, incredibly flavorful and delicious. Whats even better is that they dont hit you with any unexpected extra charges, which is always a pleasant surprise. On the flip side, I tried another new malatang place, Zhangliang, and it was a bit disappointing. They charged 9.5% in sales tax, whereas Yangguofu only charged 7.75%. This price difference definitely made me appreciate Yangguofus transparency even more.Overall, if youre looking for a top-notch malatang experience with friendly staff, fresh ingredients, and no hidden charges, Yangguofu is the place to go.

Dolans Uyghur Cuisine

I visit this new restaurant today, and whole experience is like I am stepping not in US place but right into Asian-Turkic place, so authentic! I ordered Laghman and Pearl Noodle. Laghman is much reminding of Uzbek Laghman, but here, its more fresh, not so heavy and fat. Taste is clean, and meat they use is excellent, very yummy. But real surprise is Pearl Noodle. They use bell peppers, and its bringing so much taste, whole dish is having strong, rich flavor. I couldnt stop eating it until all its all gone from my plate!Atmosphere is what really made impression on me. Inside, every detail is like from another place - you forget you are in America! Decorations, music, all feels like travel without leaving city. Staff is adding to this feeling, because they all so welcoming, like family inviting you in. Its warm, friendly place.Only one small thing - because its still so new here, full menu is not available yet. Its a pity, I am making myself ready for when they have all, because I am needing to try every dish! They already do so much right, I know more food will be same good. For now, I am telling everyone: you must visit! Its like small holiday to exotic place, but with no need for plane ticket. Very excited for coming back. Five stars for sure.
