Phoenix Inn Chinese Cuisine - Alhambra
208 E Valley Blvd, Alhambra, CA 91801, United States
Terrible service. My mom called in an order at 11:35, and by 12:15, the food still was not ready for pickup. We asked the staff twice and each time they just said a few more minutes. When we asked again at 12:20, they said they were still waiting for the last dish - Kung Pao Chicken. Seriously? Did they run out of chicken? We said forget the chicken and just refund us that portion. There were only 3 small tables of dine-in customers. They could not have been that busy. It was like they didn’t care about customer service. I can handle brusqueness, but slowness? Sorry, not from a Chinese restaurant in Alhambra! Phoenix, we are never coming back.
Shanghai Yau Fat Restaurant
1721 W Valley Blvd, Alhambra, CA 91803, United States
To me, an authentic Chinese restaurant serves hot tea with the menu. Its a small thing, but shows the establishments roots are in the right place. This is that kind of place. Server was very friendly. Decor was nice and typical upper end Chinese. Since this is this place has Shanghai in the name, I ordered two types of dumplings from the five or six offerings. Before my main course arrived, a cabbage soup was brought out. Not great. but good and served free. Next out was steamed Szechaun dumplings. They sat in a pool of chili oil surrounded by crowns of broccoli, with a sprinkling of crushed chili on top. Delicious. Next up, pan fried pork dumplings. The eight giant dumplings were fried on one side and also quite tasty.Look forward to my next visit.

Delhi Belly - Indian Restaurant in Alhambra Lun...
8 W Main St, Alhambra, CA 91801, United States
Looking at the previous reviews and pictures with celebrities we came to this place. We usually do not eat Indian food outside. We arrived at 5:53pm, we were seated properly. The restaurant was not even half full, there were 5 empty tables. We were given the menu around 6:20. Still no water served. Table besides us had also not been served any food and they were there before us.Table in front of us had requested Luke warm water, and they had to follow up twice to get it.At 6:33 I checked with the people on our side if they had ordered. And they were sitting there for 45 mins already. The owner was basically running confused across tables, looking confused, trying to do everything, running bills on the iPad, giving to-go orders. But never even came to us or to any other table to take the order or provide a glass of water even. There were people lining up outside, and no one was there to attend to them.I gently asked one of the employee, who came to clear the table, if they are under staffed- his response was- “No we are not. It is just busy”. - I told him if he considered half of his restaurant empty as being super busy, and he responded YES.That was funny. These guys may have the pictures on yelp, but they definitely do no the have the service and definitely cannot handle more than 3 tables.Oh wait !! There is more. Around 6:30 the owner came over to take our order, we started giving him, after we were finished he said - “oh ! Wait I will forget everything, let me get my notepad”.I was like seriously dude !!There was really no respect for a table with two kids.We came to your place to be served and this is what we get. And on top of that- you also ruined our rest of the evening plans by making us sit in your restaurant for 40 mins without a glass of water. And here I am spending 5 mins more to provide feedback.
Shanghai Garden Restaurant
800 Alhambra Blvd #4436, Sacramento, CA 95816, United States
Not sure what happened, but Shanghai Garden does not serve the food it did 10 years ago. Pretty basic set of choices and everything is covered in some sweet sauce or its so oily its inedible. Id pass unless you were completely out of options for Chinese food, but the other Chinese restaurants downtown arent much better.

101 Noodle Express
1408 E Valley Blvd, Alhambra, CA 91801, United States
Yet another authentic Chinese restaurant to check out in San Gabriel valley area here in the city of Alhambra. My wife had seen this noodle joint on IG and of course we love checking out new places for Chinese eats. The rainy weather brings on the Noodle appetite and 101 Noodle Express did not disappoint. We ordered a feast even though we came for some noodles.Started off with some Dan Dan noodles, steamed / fried pork and shrimp dumplings ?.I got their eggplant and pork noodles in a light yet flavorful broth which was quite delicious for a new taste for me.We also got their Yang chow fried rice and chicken chowmein.Chicken chowmein was decent in flavor however they could bump up their fried rice game which lacked a bit.We were patient with their service because there was only 1 server who was quite polite and courteous to us. I felt empathy for her because she had 8 other tables to wait on (1 that had a party of 8) and that can be stressful while taking care of pick up orders and the phone ringing all at the same time. They could have staffed the restaurant with at least 2 more employees to allow a better form of service. The dining area was clean and organized. Their restrooms could have used a little love, like a little bleach down and air freshener.101 Noodle Express would have gotten an easy 5 star rating if it werent for a couple of setbacks.Otherwise the noodles here were quite delicious. We will be back to check out some more of their noodle dishes with soup.
World Seafood Restaurant
1412 S Garfield Ave, Alhambra, CA 91801, United States
Extremely dishonest, a disgrace to Cantonese cuisine? One thing is worse than the other:July 17 at noon1) The tall manager told me that there is no Wifi in this restaurant. I said that the Wifi showed the name of your restaurant, but he changed his story and said it was not open to the public. I said that the suffix shown here is Guest, which means it is for guests to use, but he reluctantly said that the password is eight 8!2) As soon as the food was served (the food was slightly expensive), I was asked to pay directly.I guess it was because I was so poor that I did the above thing.July 20 at noon1) The woman in red at the front desk threw a morning tea menu to me. I said I wanted lunch, but she said there was none (then what was the lunch menu I saw on the 17th?). I said I wanted to order a la carte (the birds nest and other dishes I ordered were not on the breakfast menu), and she left a message to put them on the menu herself.2) I ordered a more expensive seafood. I asked a little waiter about the amount for one person, and he said it could be one and a half pounds or two pounds. As a result, after he placed the order, he told me that the seafood was three and a half pounds!Seafood restaurants, as we all know, confirm the poundage with the customer before placing the order. But in Hongli Shangpin, in order to make money, the restaurant is only interested in profit, and it will kill first and then show off!In summary,Hong! present! Yet! Taste! You have none of that! You are not worthy?
