Panda Express
5353 Katella Ave, Cypress, CA 90630, United States
I’ve always liked Panda Express until a recent experience where I paid nearly ten dollars for a mini bowl of food(barely a snack) and a drink. It was however, good as far as fast Chinese food goes but why did they steer away from the larger trays? I used to pay no more than seven or eight dollars for a heaping take out tray of food from Panda Express so why now, during a pandemic, are you selling mini bowls for higher the price? Shame. Never coming back. If I want high quality fast Chinese food pick up stix will be my go to, otherwise I’m sticking to my friendly neighborhood Chinese takeout place, the wok experience! I pay seven dollars for a heaping tray of great food. They do t cut quality or rip people off.I could’ve gone to a high-quality sit down dinner Chinese restaurant for less than I paid equivalent to that portion panda express gave me.
Annies House
204 Cypress Ave, Marina, CA 93933, United States
I dont want to o call this a hole in a wall but its a diamond find for sure.Fridays are my families and Is out and eat at local businesses, we try to do someplace, and food items, that are new to us.Annies House is a great place to eat some good food, good environment, and good energy. From the time we walked in we were greeted by Annie with all smiles. We ordered a new dish to us. The crispy lemon fish passed the hardest food critic Ive ever known, my pregnant wife! She loves it, saying it gives a pallette similar to orange chicken. The calamari appetizer was different than even Phils fish market, in a better way, was either garlic or pepper, maybe both?either way it was fantastic! Itll be a good. Spot to dine in one day, but we will surely have Annies house on our minds when we dont want to cook!
Lucky Chopsticks
4953 Lincoln Ave, Cypress, CA 90630, United States
I order from Big Chopsticks almost weekly via GrubHub and directly. Their quality of food is excellent and deliveries are on time. However, issue we’ve had the last few times is that they miss items in the orders. I call in advance to ask them to see my order(s) and go over with them, so that all is correct and included. Last few times they’re missing condiments, wontons that I ask for and ask them to charge me for and they still miss the items. Today, I ordered their chicken and string beans dish and only received string beans as well, I had called in advance and wrote on the GrubHub order four bags of crunchy wontons and charge me extra if need be, over $60 of food. They said they’re too busy to amend and re-deliver the correct order. Very disappointing! They’re nice people, but need to get orders correct especially when you call to double check and pay nice gratuities. They also often run out of Chinese mustard and instead give regular yellow mustard that doesn’t taste well with good Chinese food. Chinese restaurant out of hot mustard...this is the third time!

Sandwich House
9187 Valley View St, Cypress, CA 90630, United States
This is going to be a strange way to describe a Vietnamese banhmi shop, but this is not like any other banh mi shop (any that Ive been to at least). Upon entering, I was warmly greeted by shop owners Vu and his sister Anne, and the other smiley gentleman who made my sandwich in the kitchen. While Vu was kindly going over the menu with me, I was overcome with a sense of peacefulness.. maybe it was the 4pm sun coming through the windows, the old school purple barstools and purple orchids on every table, or even his white hair which made you feel like you were talking to a wise sage. Anyway, I was already having a good experience just ordering my house special sandwich (#1) when it gets even better! His sister comes out from the back and greets me with a bowl of buttery sugary toast and an iced jasmine tea saying she was so happy that I came and wishing me a happy Vietnamese new year and everything. And even when my sandwich came out, the owner handed it to me with both hands and a small head bow, and let me tell you, if youve never felt this level of kindness and respect from a food joint, you need to come experience this for yourself. And since I wasnt expecting so many goodies, I had so many things to carry, so without hesitation, Anne picked everything up, walked me to my car and opened my door for me! I left feeling so taken care of hahah. And later I found two extra cookies in my bag. Anyway, the sandwich was awesome and I like that you can use your debit card here. I know this review was longer than usual, but I had to share my awesome experience. Much gratitude to Sandwich House, I will definitely be coming back soon.
Woodhouse Spa - Walnut Creek
1636 Cypress St, Walnut Creek, CA 94596, United States
We were on vacation in the area. My wife had gone online and surprised me with a massage. She had a $200+ gift card in which she thought she booked the massage with. On their website when you check your gift card balance it says book appointment and gives the impression you are booking with the GC. It does ask for a credit card number as well but she thought it was going to be on the gift card. There were 2 email confirmations sent neither of which said anything about bringing the gift card with you or needing to pay for the balance. Me receiving this as a gift went to the spa and had the massage, no one ever informed me there was a balance. After the massage was over I walked out and looked at the front desk. No one was there, i had a meter running on the car and had to be at a wedding 45 minutes later so I left. The next day we got a call from the spa employees accusing us of skipping out on paying for the massage. We told them we thought it was paid for on the gift card. They were very mean and kept saying we had to pay on a credit card. We told them we did not have the gift card with us as we were out of town and the lady on the phone said. I will check with corporate and see what we have on file. I want to make sure that if it is a credit card you do not want us to charge that I told her we did not want to pay with a credit card and that immediately when we return to our home we will call with the gift card and cover and charges and to call if they had any questions. The next day we received a charge on our credit card for the cost. I called the spa back and they again were rude and mean accusing us of having to pay by credit card and that now they could not take a gift card over the phone. The lady even told me she watched the video and I left without talking to anyone. There was no one there, it was a gift which I thought was paid for and I had a meter running. We finally talked to the corporate office who said we could pay by the gift card over the phone. This was a gift from my wife as an anniversary present and now they have turned it into an accusatory two days attacking out character and completely ruining any enjoyment from the massage. My wife frequents the Woodhouse spa in Franklin Tennessee and talks about how great they are. It is unfortunate that my only experience at Walnut Creek has been a nightmare. I hope the owners, and corporate see this review and might take some time to talk to their employees on how to deal with customers in a way that reflects that person spending their money on a luxury service. Fortunately there are other options for Spas and I would highly recommend checking your other options.
Chaba
5111 Ball Rd, Cypress, CA 90630, United States
Very delicious. However, the first waiter was too cruel. It was my first time going to a restaurant, so I didnt know what to expect, so when I asked a question, they put their hands in their pockets, opened the menu for the first time, and acted as if theyd understand if they saw it. The way he said it was in a bossy way, looking at him from above.I was thinking of going home, but since it was highly rated, I had no choice but to try it.The second waiter was pretty average, but he looked like an angel with a cute figure. As for the service, I cant give it a single star, its -5.The taste is definitely delicious! ️The first Pad Thai I tried was too sweet for me, but when I got the Hot Sauce and Spicy Sauce, it was delicious! ️ So, I didnt really know how to eat it, so I mixed it up and ate it like ramen rice. So, I ordered Panang Curry Shrimp and Green Curry Beef to take home, but this restaurant also made the mistake of often getting it wrong. They give us hot food in boxes to take home, but the steam makes them soggy and tastes bad. Moreover, it becomes easily damaged... Its really bad to put piping hot curry, reasonably hot rice, and raw vegetables in the same container. Dont you understand? So, when ordering take-out, let it cool before packaging it! ️If you are offering a take-out menu, please understand these basic things. Tips are not required for take-out menus, but recently people have started asking for tips. Therefore, we write To Go and put $1.⁰⁰ for each box. After that, I will add small change as a tip for 15% or more, but not for 18% and 20%. No matter where you go to the store, they will tell you that the amount includes consumption tax and taxes, such as 20%. Please send a tip for the tax as well! ️ I was very surprised ?!! Its ️. Of course this store was the same. However, is the tip guide from 15% still within an acceptable range?Ill write the English review later. lol lol lol
Guadalajara Mexican Restaurant
435 E Cypress Ave, Redding, CA 96002, United States
This restaurant was referred to me by someone who said they had been there and really enjoyed it. I must go back and talk with them - they must have been to the wrong restaurant. I think that I have said that Im no foodie, but I know how to cook and what it a good meal and what is not. This restaurant was embarrassingly bad. I recognize that some eateries are, unless they are in a bigger city where there is more similar places against which to compare, or the chef/owners are escaping from the city and opening a place that just their names will attract attention (Pangea, Point Arena, is an example - founded by two top chefs from San Francisco a number of years ago, now closed), are undeserving of some of their reviews. The margarita at the top of the list says in clear print Fresh mix - it came out of a bottle and was horribly sweet. There was a lip mark on the edge. The chips were not made there and were stale, tasteless, and I have eaten better cardboard. The salsa was not bad.We were taking our time ordering, and the wait staff asked us about three times if we were ready. I politely said no each time. The last time the individual walked off in a huff, and I could see him complaining to someone. I ordered the pork-ball soup (Albondigas) in a rich broth. That broth was watery with fat floating in the top and the days overcooked celery, carrots, and gooey potatoes lurking in the bottom. It is not supposed to be super-thick, but not dishwater thin like this was. I was drinking water through the night, it was so salty. My wife ordered Quesadillas and while the black beans were ok (out of a can), and the guacamole edible, the actual Quesadilla was mushy, the meat when I was able to find it, was obviously not even close to fresh. It was all shriveled up. The waiter came over to ask the obligatory How is your meal? and when I said only OK he took offense at my comments, muttered something about the chef (his English was not good), and stormed off. Why is it that one feels like one has to say the food is good - when it is not. It is as if why ask in the first place if the restaurant is not interested in knowing in that first place. I took a trip to Australia via Hong Kong and went to the British chef Jamie (name?)s, restaurant along the harbor - the hamburger was not very good and I mentioned it to the waiter. The chef came out, asked a lot of questions of me, listened carefully, apologized, and gave us free of charge a whole new order - AND came out to check again. Now that is listening to the customer! So much for that restaurant - Id never go back. There is a comment in these reviews about the large portions of food. Large portions are still large portions of bad food. There was a food truck near the hotel that had a crowd outside. I stopped out of curiosity - it smelt wonderful and the enthusiastic diners were most complimentary. Just goes to show that you can get good Mexican food in Redding after all.
Sushi World
10953 Meridian Dr, Cypress, CA 90630, United States
I recently had the pleasure of dining at Sushi World, and I must say, the culinary experience was quite delightful. The restaurant offers a wide selection of sushi rolls, and I had the opportunity to try the Cheetah Roll, Atlantic Dragon Roll, White Dragon Roll, and Spicy Tuna Rice Cake. Each dish was a treat for the taste buds, leaving me wanting more. The Cheetah Roll, filled with fresh salmon, creamy avocado, and delectable cheese, was a true standout. The combination of flavors was harmonious, and the presentation was visually appealing. It was a perfect balance of textures and tastes. The Atlantic Dragon Roll and White Dragon Roll were equally impressive. The rolls were beautifully crafted, and the quality of the ingredients was evident. The Atlantic Dragon Roll had a delightful combination of seafood, while the White Dragon Roll offered a unique twist with its fusion of flavors. Both rolls were a pleasure to indulge in.The Spicy Tuna Rice Cake was another highlight of my meal. The spicy kick of the tuna paired wonderfully with the sticky rice, creating a satisfying and flavorful dish. It was a creative take on traditional sushi, and I thoroughly enjoyed it.The service at Sushi World was exceptional. The staff members were friendly, attentive, and knowledgeable about the menu. They provided recommendations and ensured that my dining experience was pleasant. However, one aspect that could be improved upon is the waiting time. The wait for a table was longer than anticipated, which slightly affected the overall experience. In conclusion, Sushi World offers a fantastic selection of sushi rolls bursting with flavor. The Cheetah Roll, Atlantic Dragon Roll, White Dragon Roll, and Spicy Tuna Rice Cake were all delicious and left me thoroughly satisfied. The service was top-notch, although the waiting time for a table was longer than expected. Despite this minor setback, I would recommend Sushi World to sushi enthusiasts looking for a memorable dining experience.
Niu Hawaiian BBQ
1030 E Cypress Ave B, Redding, CA 96002, United States
Was impressed with the quantity of food, the quality was good, but could use improvement- for me. I loved the beef, very tender and flavorful. The pork and chicken was good, but to me, it needed something... either a glaze or extra seasoning would have made my taste buds happier. I am overall pleased with the overall service and cleanliness of this restaurant. The selection was good- try the house fried rice! The decor is a nice selection of Chinese Hawaiian modern... could use some help in that department as well.
Daltons Cafe
5591 Lincoln Ave, Cypress, CA 90630, United States
I met a girlfriend here for breakfast. Its a cute small cafe with home baked goods. Theres no waiting area so be prepared to stand or wait outside if you visit on a Saturday or Sunday. The restaurant is adorable, the food and coffee were okay. The portions seemed reasonable compared to price. The restaurant was clean and cozy. The day we went, they must have been understaffed. The service was pretty slow. Our order was taken roughly about 15 after being seated. I food arrived 25 to 30 minutes later. Our waitresses was preoccupied with other tables so the process of calling attention for condiments or a refill on coffee was like catching a flight at LAX. When we finally received condiments, we received our bill. I reminded her for a refill of coffee but no luck would have it. I asked a different waiter who eventually filled my cup but then asked if we needed any boxes. I thought to myself, What?! I just got my food. Lol While we felt that was abrupt, we decided to pack up. We got the impression the attempt was to turn over tables as quickly as possible without regard. Again, its a cute breakfast location however the staff seemed unable to work under pressure or deliver a comfortable environment to enjoy breakfast. My girlfriend and I ate in the parking lot so we could formally catch up on life. Maybe a different day would have been better.
