My husband and I had recently heard about the New China Restaurant in theSunset Plaza, Redding, California. We had tried all the other Chinese restaurants in Shasta County and were sadly disappointed. I am happy to say that we have found the BEST Chinese food in Shasta County!!! The food was incredible!!! The portions were large and the wait staff gracious!!! I highly recommend this restaurant!!

A nice and unassuming restaurant in Red Bluff. Delicious meal and big portion! We ordered scrambled egg with shrimp and mapo tofu, the best Chinese food we had in USA. Friendly owner and staff too ?

The food is very good and reasonable prices. Its great to have a Chinese restaurant in this location as it is very easy to find. Parking is in the back but easy to get to. Just drive down the small alley thats before the entrance.

Grand Buffet

Buffet Chinese food is never going to compare to that of a Chinese restaurant, but the sushi rolls do it for me. Ill only go in for the sushi and if the person with me wants Chinese too, otherwise Id chooseelsewhere. If you like Chinese food from a buffet, then this place has ample seating and food selections to serve yourself from. Service is fair and the guy (only know one, but dont go enough to know if there are others) at the sushi bar has been courteous with service.
New Asian Restaurant

This was my first time to this restaurant. This is the only Chinese restaurant in town to offer Chinese Chicken Salad. They had explained that they add corn, with broccoli and carrots. It seemed a little weird, but I went with it. In addition, I ordered Hot & Sour soup. When I sat down to eat it, low and behold there is some coursely chopped lettuce, carrots, broccoli, corn & chicken with sauce. No almonds or peanuts, no ramen, no cabbage or anything else that youll find in a typical Chinese Chicken Salad. The Hot & Sour soup was fresh and spicy, but it wasnt sour the least bit and I couldnt find any bamboo shoots or onions. When I called the restaurant to offer my feedback, the daughter answered. She heard my feedback and then proceeded to tell me that every restaurant has their own way of preparing meals and that this is their way of doing it. She came across as arrogant and condescending. However, when you change the entire concept of a dish, you should notify your customers that it is not traditional, especially a new customer who patrons for a specific dish. She wouldnt acknowledge my concerns in anyway. I hung up dissatisfied and am now leaving this feedback.

We have eaten at this restaurant many times, it is a convenient location on our way home from town. Today was a completely different experience than normal! We ordered ahead since we were getting food for the whole family, two family meals. The app said it would be ready in 25-30 minutes. After ordering, we were given a time about 30 minutes in the future for the order to be ready to pickup.I realized we had forgotten to order one thing, so I went in a few minutes before the time I was supposed to pick up the order and was surprised at how slowly the people behind the counter were moving! I got up to the counter and others the entree I had forgotten to add to the rest of the meal. The guy asked if I wanted anything else and I told him no, that I already had an order that should be ready to pick up and I was just adding to it. He acted surprised and asked what my name was, then acted surprised that there was an online order even though I could even read it from across the counter!I paid for the extra item and then waited for the rest. Over 30 minutes later, I finally got the food. The extra item (shrimp) was now cold and during the entire time I waited, they would stop getting my order ready to help the next person that just walked in! I was so frustrated. I had to keep reminding my e wife to be calm and not make a scene since she was very angry at the slow service and obvious lack of concern on their part to finish getting out for ready, even though it ended up being over an hour to get two meals!Ill have to really be desperate to return to this place, there are other places to get food that dont include the drama! Sorry, Panda, I think were calling it quits, at least until I forget the terrible yeast in my mouth from this experience! By the way, the rest of the food was pretty good, I think - by the time I got to eat, I was to hungry to notice much about the taste.

Walking in the restaurant has amazing decor and is well put together. The hostess was very welcoming and sat us immediately even though we were early for our reservation. Then it all went downhill. While everyone elses servers were calm and collected, doing an amazing job, ours was terrible. She spent the first fifteen walking past our table just saying sorry every time we caught glances. Keep in mind they werent super busy and all the other staff served tables immediately. Finally when she came to take our drink orders we told her we were ready to order our meals too. My wife ordered the tamarind margarita, I just got a soda, calamari for the app, kimchi fried rice with crab as the protein, and the honey prawns. Our server forgot to bring us our drinks so another server brought my soda and a water for my wife. Finally we were told that they were out of tamarind, so my wife ordered a plain margarita. What she ended up getting was what tasted like tequila and sweet and sour mix in a whiskey glass. The food started good at first, but even with the server stressing that the app would come first, my wifes food came with it and mine didnt. The calamari was amazing. Lightly breaded, and tasted super fresh. The kimchi fried rice was ok, but lacked any real kimchi flavor and there was hardly any crab in it, just a few shreds which was super disappointing because they charge $6 extra for crab. My food didnt come out, and after 20 minutes of waiting and my wifes food getting cold because she didnt want to eat without me, our server finally tells us that they forgot my food and they would start it now. A couple minutes later my food arrived but by then my wifes food was cold and what I had just gotten was cold too. The broccoli tasted like they just took it out of the fridge, and for $23 you get 6 rubbery, tail still on shrimp that taste like they cooked them from frozen. The manager comped my plate but when we got the bill we noticed my wifes $15 tamarind margarita turned into a $23 margarita with no warning of the up charge, and the only exception being thats what they charge for tequila. We refused to pay that, but said we would pay the initial $15 that it said on the menu since she drank it. The bill ended up being $54 for some good calamari, some bland fried rice, and a terrible margarita.Best part was when we got home and reheated the rice we found a chunk of sharp plastic in it. Not worth it at all. I know new places have bumps they have to iron out when they open but this was ridiculously bad. I feel like with a different server we would have had a different experience because ours was just terrible. Dont think well be back to give it another chance.
