Tsing Tao Restaurant
3107 Clement St #1615, San Francisco, CA 94121, United States
My terrible Chinese led me to this restaurant. I was looking for San Tung chicken wing but somehow ended up in Tsing Tao. Wife and baby were hangry so I had to feed them. Server was friendly and sat us down quickly and brought over high chair. We ordered lunch special (sesame chicken and eggplant with pork). Food was good but portion was on the small side. My wife wanted egg roll so I order one without looking at the price. When we got the bill the price of 2 egg roll was over $10, which was unexpected. I left a bit disappointed because I didn’t get the chicken wing (my fault) and end up with an pricy tab for an average Asian restaurant experience in San Francisco.

Taiwan Restaurant
445 Clement St, San Francisco, CA 94118, United States
This family owned restaurant serves Taiwan style Chinese Food in generous portions and reasonable prices. The food is well prepared and tasty but be forewarned although they take credit cards they do charge a fee when you use them instead of cash. Still the prices are very good for San Francisco.

Xiao Long Bao
625 Clement St, San Francisco, CA 94118, United States
A relative newcomer to the dim sum game, I always ask locals for their favorite restaurant. On Clement Street, a neighborhood of tasty undiscovered the lights for many Northern California Inns, easily rivalling Chinatown, there are several dim sum restaurants, theyre almost always called bakeriesthe difference between good and great dim sum is how fresh it is and the quality of the ingredients. Braving the line that was kind of long, I admired the Xiao Long Baos open architecture basically a giant glass case, or three of them to be precise, with row upon row of delicious Chinese dumplings, baos, pancakes, rolls, and other treats. it is a great help from non Mandarin speakers like myself, to have phonetic pronunciation of the different dishes which were easily handled here.Ordering my normal array some Shumai, (shrimp and pork) some Har gao (pork) a standard pot sticker which I always order as a test of any dim sum place, and a bean paste ball for dessert, filled with sweet bean paste inside of a chewy rice flour ball crisp on the outside is Sesame Seeds.first thing you noticed at this place is that it was all made like 25 seconds ago. So fresh, it is obviously never been frozen, and never sat around. Flavor difference especially for the shumai is absolutely incredible. This is what good dim sum should be.The pot sticker was the same, with a perfect fresh pop and chew, and finally the bean paste ball was done to perfection crispy chewy and sweet. I usually have this with a Diet Coke or Pepsi as it is the only soft drink with the industrial strength to cut through the level of Grease Im inflicting upon my heart. Lol.All in all I have to say the locals were right! This is some of the best dim-sum Ive ever had. Highly recommended. Also, just walk around Clement Street once in a while and test some of the places out. You wont be disappointed.

Good Luck Dim Sum
736 Clement St, San Francisco, CA 94118, United States
You are in SF, but it feels like a dingy restaurant in a alley in Hong Kong or Beijing. Our quest for the Best Dim Sum in San Francisco, led us here. You stand in line. Pick up a paper and pencil to mark out what you need. Its OK if you dont understand what is what, no one does. Until you get to a counter, where you ask whats in the display and they point to chinese characters. We really enjoyed a couple shrimp varietals, but were aghast at the pancake (its a long snaky, doughy, flavorless) concoction. There are 5-6 tables, but by the time you are done placing an order and getting it, the crowd has taken all the tables. Get a jacket and claim a table while you are in line. The best part about this place is, despite the hits and misses, and no one to recommend whats good and whats not, you end up with a bill of $15 for 10 different items! What?

Mamahuhu

Unfortunately I'm not exaggerating when I say this place is home to the worst Asian dish of any kind I've ever had in my life.Portions: I know it's SF but for $18, which they labeled as a large portion, I was expecting a lot more. I went right next door to the Dim Sum place because I was still hungry, and I got more and better tasting chicken for $4.95 than they gave me for $18 + tax + tip.Taste: We got the Sweet and Sour Chicken, which had multiple pieces of JUST BATTER. Little fried bits of rice batter with no chicken inside. Even the bits with chicken were pretty disappointing, since they had about 20-30% of the chicken you'd get in Panda Express's orange chicken. It really was pretty shocking how little actual chicken there was in the dish, especially at a higher price point like this. The taste itself of the sauce though is what really did it for me. It was nauseatingly sweet with no balance of flavor. No salt, no spice, no sour, no flavor. It tasted like they just poured a can of pineapple juice in the pan and called it a day. My girlfriend and I both felt sick from the taste and we both agreed it was the worst Asian dish we've had anywhere ever (which is saying a lot, since we seek out Asian food every chance we get!).Service: Can't say much about service since it's a fast food style ordering system, so the service is basically self service. All I can say is the guy taking our order did not seem very happy to be there.Overall: Seems like they are maximizing price while minimizing food costs. The place looks nice and inviting but that's really all it has going for it. As far as taste, value, and quality, there is absolutely no comparison with basically anything else on Clement St. Don't be fooled by its location, this is NOT high quality Asian food! It's basically Jack in The Box Chinese food dressed up to fool you with their nice interior design and exorbitant prices. Go to any of the cheaper joints on Clement and you'll get much better tasting food.

Sichuan Tasty Restaurant

Visited this restaurant after visiting a relatives grave at Presidio. We had a taste for Chinese and checked YELP for the highest rated Chinese restaurant nearby. The food was indeed amazing as the reviews suggest. However, the service was terrible as some previous reviews have mentioned. The two women present acted like they didnt want to be bothered and were rude and unwelcoming. Fortunately, in San Francisco, there are other places where one can get great food AND good service.

Clement BBQ
617 Clement St, San Francisco, CA 94118, United States
Portions here are generous. Theres a variety of popular Chinese entrees you can choose from you would usually find at Chinese restaurants. This place makes it convenient so you can get Chinese entrees to go instantly. Prices is here are very affordable with a two entree lunch box price that $7.25 + tax. Caveat is the quality of food is okay but nothing spectacular. Im not sure if this is because the food has been made early and is left out the entire day or choice of ingredients. Anyway a local spa in the Richmond district if youre looking for a quick take out of Chinese food at affordable cost.

Good place to dine out with friends cheap, but has good food. I was surprised to see Ukrainian Borsh, since its a Chinese restaurant. Loved the experience of dining here.

Panda Express

I ordered the super greens, black pepper chicken, white rice with sweet and sour sauce on it and 1 vegetable spring roll. Everything was cooked very well. Taste was outstanding. Definitely ordering this again! It was the first time I ordered the super greens. I loved the flavor but found the texture a little harder than expected in some of the green parts. The white was soft and melted in my mouth. Highly recommend for veggie lovers. I like the black pepper chicken because its hot but it doesnt have a kick to it. I can pick all if the big pieces of chicken out of it and eat it with my sweet and sour rice for a fun flavor balance. It is standard for them to sell 2 spring rolls at a time but I knew I was not going to eat it. They had a difficult time with this at first, until I finally said I would buy 2 but just give me 1 because I dont want it waisted. Then one of the ladies heard what was happening and showed the younger person how to ring me up with just 1 spring roll. The place is clean, bathroom is clean, and very easy to find parking. Hit this place up if you have a chance! I highly recommend.
