Asian Grand Buffet
251 S Orchard Ave, Ukiah, CA 95482, United States
I’ve eaten at way too many Chinese food buffets and Chinese fast food spots all over the place but this one my friends has been one of the best if not the best. The food they serve at this place is so delicious and who ever is cooking it is cooking it with passion.I have also eaten at many gourmet Chinese food restaurants in Alhambra, Monterrey Park and San Francisco and the food they serve here at this buffet has been better than what I have tried on some of those supposedly gourmet or fine cuisine restaurants. Ukiah rocks!!The peanut ? chicken wow! ?
Annas Bistro

Great place to eat! Every time weve eaten there, gotten take out, or gotten it delivered, the food has always been delicious and brought out quickly and accurately. There are lots of entrees to choose from; they have a Chinese menu and a Japanese menu (I definitely reccomend the potstickers). The inside of the restaurant is nicely decorated and has a comfortable atmosphere. Theyre rarely too busy so most of the time its a nice and quiet place to eat. Theres also a parking lot outside with plenty of parking spots. The staff are very courteous and are knowledgeable about the menu and all other aspects of the restaurant. The restaurant is clean and the food is almost always served in a timely and accurate manner. Overall a wonderful restaurant.

Taste of Nepal

The food is all fantastic and the staff is equally good. The atmosphere is nothing special but certainly comfortable. Be prepared to spend 20+ per person, but also expect to have tasty food. You can get most dishes at spice levels 1-5. If you cannot handle spice, opt for 1. If you like a little spice, 2. If you usually like pretty spicy food but nothing crazy, 3. At 4 you will likely end up with an upset stomach, but its worth it. The burn is pretty intense but not gonna kill ya. I have ordered the tandoori at 5 before. The entire restaurant INCLUDING the staff were all having a collective coughing fit as a result of the devilish level of spice coming off of that steaming chicken. It is absolutely incredible, and feels much akin to someone lighting gasoline on your tongue. Nonetheless it is delicious, and through the tears I genuinely adored the meal. I only recommend this for those who seek out spice challenges or have little to no reaction to spice. You WILL have an upset stomach for potentially a couple hours. However it is worth it and Ill absolutely be doing it again.

Holey Bagels & Asian Market

So excited to have an Asian Market/Eatery in Ukiah! We had so much fun looking at all the fresh produce, like Lemongrass, Logan Fruit, and Durian. The wide assortment of frozen seafood (fish, oysters, scallops) was also an inspiration for our next meal. 100 Year Old Duck Eggs? They got ‘em. Crispy Fish Skin? They have Garlic and Spicy. Fresh made Kimchi? They got you covered. Usually we would need to drive an hour away to find these items. The owner is also open to procuring any items shoppers may suggest, like that spicy Japanese mayonnaise with the red cap!We also enjoyed lunch while we were there. We were offered a taste before we decided. They feature a fresh daily Combo Bowl: Choose Fried Rice or Chow Mein. Add roasted Porkbellies or Teriyaki Chicken or Spicy Jalapeño Ginger Chicken. They also offer a wide variety of delicious bagels and bagel sandwiches. I asked for a Lox Bagel, and they obliged. I am a bit of a Lox Bagel junkie. This one did NOT disappoint. My daughter ordered a Honey Dew Boba, and it was cold and delicious. My son got a Blueberry Muffin. I'm telling you, there is something for everyone! What stood out the most was the Service. Thank you Amanda and Casey. Our first experience at Holey Bagel was so positive, we will be regulars! We can't wait to see what you do with the potential you have. We wish you all the best in Ukiah!

I have reviewed quite a few restaurants, delis, etc, and this is my favorite places, hands down. Their food is unparalleled in quality. The environment is calming and wonderful. Highly doubt you will ever see an unhappy customer. The owner is one of the kindest people Ive met. He always greets you with a smile, listens and is helpful. You can tell that he puts his heart and soul into the food they make and you can tell when you eat it. Flavor is absolutely amazing.I got the philly cheesesteak steak sandwich which blew me away on the quality. He sliced the meat right when I order it. The bread, steak, cheese, and everything included was absolutely incredible! It was definitely the best philly cheesesteak Ive ever had. Ive had quite a few over the years from various places but none as good as this. Its great when you see he has repeat customers that gave me advice. Once you try it, youll definitely be going back.I have never liked lamb, but thats just me personally. A customer suggested trying some lamb, and the owner was kind enough to give me a sample. I was actually blown away. It was amazing, and changed my outlook on lamb. I believe its there best selling Gyro for good reasons. Its rare when you find a place that has all healthy food and a wide variety for all tastes even vegetarian.Small businesses like this who dont cut corners and make everything with pride make this place stand out.Dont take just my word for it. Stop by and try this place for yourself. You will be greeted with a smile and guaranteed youll be going back. Im hungry now just thinking about the place and food.I cant recommend this place enough.Try it for yourself, and youll understand.Thank you for the wonderful food and experience.
Jyun Kang Vegetarian Restaurant

This is not your regular American Chinese restaurant. Im not sure if it was authentic, but it was very different and in not a bad way. The food felt very fresh. The prices are extremely reasonable. Service was slow, but I dont blame them. Its not a conventional for profit restaurant. Its located within a Buddhist temple area and they run this restaurant for the visiting devotees. Overall, its a great place to get some nice food.
City of Ten Thousand Buddhas
2001 Talmage Rd, Ukiah, CA 95482, United States
The house of ten thousand Buddhas an old abandoned hospital that was purchased in the seventies and has been incredibly transformed into a school to teach one lineage of Buddhism. The staff I met was cheerful helpful laughing and working hard to make the facility even nicer to accommodate the people that are here as they continue their practice on a day to day basis. The small museum in the administration building is interesting if you want to know any of the history of this lineage, otherwise it will be some artifacts and just old things. The grounds are spacious. The roads and walkways are wide with plenty of room to stroll. As you enter you are greeted by a huge Chinese gatethat you drive beneath on your way to the first facility. TThe Hall of ten thousand Buddhas is quite a vortex of energy. To sit and meditatethere, well its quite powerful. There are gold Buddhas adorning wall row after row after row after row after row. Impressive as you sat and absorb this energy, people come in pay their respects, bow and pray move on about their day. It is a very impressive room and not to be missed. For me it was an overwhelming experience to consider all the good work that has gone on at this facility the energy was very powerful all I can say is triple wow! The good vibrations lasted long after my departure from this energy vortex.

I lived on Mill Creek Rd in 1961 in the summer.... not long. There was a State Hospital right in the area of this temple. I was wondering if this temple is in the same location, as that Hospital had a bad reputation of a lot of abuse, and closed. Going east as you go up the hill in the woods, on Mill Creek Rd there were a couple of reservoirs as you head in to the Cow Mountain Recreational area. The first and largest one of them, people would swim in them back them Camped there once with cub scouts then with my brother. We would see salamanders come up to the surface then dive back down. I remember them as being orange in color. People were swimming and going off rope swings on the other side of that reservoir that were tied to trees, when I was last there in August 1978. Very neat area. The dam there looks gated off to people now. Saftey thing Im sure.Going there this June 23.
