Misaka Sushi

A wonderful restaurant with a mix of japanese and other asian culture fusions. Attentive servers and nicely priced. Some of their best offerings include various fried rices w/one or combination of meats and shrimp, various Ramens, and their garlic noodles are amazing.

We had dinner at this restaurant for the first time and did not like it.My wife and I chose to eat sushi. What a mistake. I ordered Chirashi and was awful. The rice was not what you would expect from a reputable Japanese restaurant. The fish was not sushi grade and tasted old, dried, and plain tasteless. The restaurant atmosphere was chaotic and smelled like you were eating inside a BBQ grill. Very smoky, and my guess is they do not have a good cooking area exhaust system. Therefore, cooking smoke is everywhere. If you want to eat tasteless sushi and do not mind going home smelling like burned meat, then this restaurant is for you.I do not recommend it.

It's a small restaurant, maybe 12 tables, more or less. It is located in a shopping center so no need to worry about parking.Food:The food was good: I had the Tuna Poki Salad. Ive never had poke (Poki) salad served the way they did it. It looks like Tuna on a bed of cucumbers, seaweed, and special sauce topped with rice noodle. Didnt have any other veggies. I actually liked it a lot but not the rice noodle on top. There was a good amount of tuna in that salad. Which was very much a plus, plus, plus! Also ordered the California Salad, veggie tempura (standard), soft shell crab, and salmon belly. The salmon belly was a beautiful piece of thick cut salmon (a little too slimy for my palate) but some might enjoy it though.Service:it took a minute to scan the QR code for the menu and it never came up. And no we were not the only ones having trouble. They might want to invest in wifi. They have a menu book so good on them. But the menu does not show the prices. So we ordered blindly :). We didnt know the prices of the items we ordered :(.There was only one person working the front (she was the host and server/waitress). It may be a small place but she needs help. Because they also have online or phone orders to be picked up and shes helping them too.

I was thrilled to discover a new Japanese restaurant in Brentwood. However, after ordering the Katsu chicken and vegetable tempura, we may not be returning. The place was packed full on a Friday evening. We had to wait about 20 minutes to get a table. No biggie. They have a counter along one wall, but it was loosely hanging on and tilted. Definitely not a stable place to eat. They need to get rid of that thing. It looks bad. Also, they have what looks like a beautiful water fountain behind the check-in counter. But, this was bone dry, dirty, and just an eyesore to look at wh2n you first walk in.The chicken katsu was a horrible piece of chicken. Definitely not a nice clean piece of white meat breast. 50% of the piece was full of fat and gristle, and the other 50% was flavorless cheap dark meat. This was a huge disappointment. I have had awesome chicken katsu breasts in the past, but this place does not care to give their customers a nice choice piece of meat.We might give this place one more try, to see if this was just an unfortunate anomaly. Not sure. That chicken was really gross.Have a little more pride in the food you serve and give your customers a better piece of meat.

Im not a big fan of these combo restaurants (Chinese and Japanese) as I my belief a restaurant should concentrate on a cuisine they do best. But, Mikado is an exception; they got it right.Mikado offers a good blend of Japanese and Chinese food. Granted theyre not a perfect 10 for both cuisine, but theyre very good with both worlds. This place does get packed and for good reasons.Their Chinese food, dont expect Kois Palace quality but then again you dont pay those prices. Theyre food comes out pipping hot and you can see the Chef is obviously showing off his wok skills. One of my favorite is their garlic fried rice. It adds a new taste dimension to a common dish. Their mini Bok Choy with garlic sauce and Peking Pork Chops are excellent comfort food and Mikado knows how to make them.Their other world is an interesting experience. Weekdays are fine for your everyday sushi fix, but for a true Japanese adventurous experience you have to go there on the weekend. The sushi rice was lacking the sushi rice vinegar but the fish are fresh and presented nicely.Staff here are top notch and not something you would expect from a small bistro. They frequently check up on you and there were times when we mentioned the food was a bit salty and they automatically took it back and had another one made. For their sushi (unless you like whats in their menu)I suggest you let them make the recommendations. Theyre honest about whats fresh and what to avoid.

Been going back. I think they learn from our reviews. They have improved a lot. Im impressed. I actually am. Being treated kindly now. I gave a $10 tip last time. The young lady was very attentive. They could still use sliced raw mushrooms, kidney beans, bean sprouts, chunks of pineapple, not those slices which are to much work to eat, chunks of cheeses added to the salad bar. Get the ranch tasting like ranch dressing. Sunflower seeds as well, I dont remember seeing them. Still no beef and broccoli. And bring back coconut shrimp instead of mayo shrimp. They got banana pudding and tapioca pudding. My two favorite puddings. Yeah! They got rid of the strawberries though. They listen to our suggestions here. They are much better than when I started going here. Much more politer. A much more nicer environment. China Wall Buffett lost out. Much more variety here and they even brought back ousters. No beef and broccoli yet. I like steamed broccoli with melted cheese over it.They got my business. Went about 3 times this month. Might go today. 10-27-2022Older post below________I went back again last week or so. Today is 10-8-2022. I went on my mobility scooter. They where kind, gave me my own table. Checked my drink all the time. The food was even better. Total change. Im bumping the stars from 3 star rating to 5 star rating. They have way better choices than China Wall Buffett in Concord that only serves the same foods.

Good japanese restaurant. SF Giants rolls are great. Quick service. Could probably use more decor inside. Nice location.

They don't take phone orders that is just ridiculous!!!So when I came into to order my food the one man working the counter was on the phone I guess confirming an Uber online order and had to continue to wait for at least 5 mins before he can take my order. I asked if someone else can help me pointing to the back kitchen area and he said no they don't speak English I am the only one. Thankfully my food didn't take super long to make. But last time I was there it did! They seem to be way understaffed!! And the only man working there was not friendly at all!Think it's just ridiculous they can't take over the phone orders….! And when I called to place an order over the phone the man was very rude about and just hung up saying bye and that was it!!Also not to mention the prices are way too too expensive for what u get…I ordered the Japchae and there was barely any meat in it, w tons of onions and bell peppers. My husband looked at my dish and said did they even give u any meat in it…!!!They are just way overpriced for the amount of food u get or quality really!I think this will prob be my last time eating there even though I did love the Japchae the clear noodles where my fav but with everything else I think I am going to have to pass on this place now!

So I went here for the first time on my lunch break, ordered inside and left. When I arrived to eat my food my to to tonkatsu ramen had no meat.. I'm pretty sure a veggie one would have been cheaper but I paid extra and there was nothing they could do. I couldn't return since it was my lunch break.. very disappointed

February update: Second order; we liked it just as much! Adding pictures for Chicken Skewers (appetizer), Salmon Teppanyaki, Gyoza (app), and Shrimp Teppanyaki. Also ordered the NY Steak Teppanyaki; that is my new favorite entree, with the Gyoza remaining my favorite overall dish.(December) Just tried Fuji Grill for the first time and am impressed! Large order was ready on time. Each item looked like the pictures on their website. (Ill try to remember to take and upload pics here when I next order.) My personal favorite was the gyoza, which had a wonderful and slightly spicy dipping sauce. I could have 2 orders of that and call it dinner! We also ordered chicken, shrimp, and salmon teppanyaki with both steamed and fried rice. Everyone loved what they ordered. They are very generous with the rice, so next time I will order a side of protein with an entree, instead of another full entree. (Im not sure this can be done with online ordering, but can be done ordering by phone.) Also enjoyed the miso soup, edamame, and seaweed salad. Definitely a place to order from again!
