Tomo Sushi & Teriyaki
1901 Junipero Serra Blvd # G, Daly City, CA 94014, United States
Saturday evening dinner:1. Ordered Shrimp tempura and Oyakodon.2. Shrimp tempura and miso soup were very good. Oyakodon was okay(I’m not a Japanese cuisine person, so it might be good, but I’m not a fan of the dish). Oyakodon with little amounts of wasabi was very good. I tried wasabi for the first time, be careful with the consumption anount, make sure you don’t make direct contact while consumption(haha, thank me later?)3. We were a party of 4 and got in almost instantly, no wait time, service was quick and very good. May be little on the expensive side for me. Since I didn’t find fried rice, I’d consider it authentic Japanese restaurant.

This place was very good when it first started but it has gone downhill over the years. I dont see the crowds I used to see. The food portions have shrunk and the service is average. Just so you know, this is a Japanese restaurant owned by Cantonese.1. Food⭐️⭐️⭐️out of five.2. Price ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️very reasonable.3. Service ⭐️⭐️⭐️workers dont smile and they dont say thank you or bye.4. Ambiance ⭐️⭐️ No Japanese atmosphere.5. Cleanliness ⭐️⭐️⭐️
Majikku Ramen

Its honestly a wonder to me that this spot has 4.2 stars. I dont really think they should call themselves a ramen place because it doesnt feel very ramen focused to me. Theres a *ton* of stuff on their menu that I think they should probably just cut. I believe a short simple menu is the ticket to success. Do a few things very well. Theyre trying to do it all and it shows in their ramen quality (or lack thereof). It is fine in terms of sustenance but it was bland, sad, generally lacking the rich experience I crave from ramen.I ordered the tonkatsu ramen with extra egg, black fungus(kikurage mushrooms), and seaweed.Ill go through each ingredient:Tonkatsu broth:Bland, sad, not rich or flavorful as I expect tonkatsu to be. As if it were prepackaged almost. Needed to be hotter.Noodles:Again, bland, overcooked, and screamed prepackaged dry (think top ramen) at me. I suppose prepackaged is fine under the right circumstances but I know you can get fresh noodles in Daly City, CA theres no exuse. I will also say, I cannot actually prove their noodles are prepackaged. It just seemed like it to me. If they are fresh, theyre not cooking or handing it right. Their noodle quality is one of two main tells that this place is a Ramen spot in name only.Kikurage Mushrooms:They were fine if not cut a little big for my likingTamago:These are typically made in advance then served in the ramen to my understanding. It was simultaneously overcooked and lukewarm in the middle. They had no distinct flavor. This, in my mind, is the most egregious offense and the second tell. Dont mess with the tamago.Seaweed:They forgot to put it on. Hard to mess seaweed up though so Id imagine itd have been fine.Green onions:FinePickled ginger:Surprisingly these were the only glimmer of good flavor and excitement in this dish. Pretty sure they were prepackaged too. Not a big dealBambooshoots:Sad, just sad. They taste like they were trying to get rid of these for several days. Horrible.Pork cutlets:Fine, if not a little bland. The atmosphere was no frills, and kind of bizarre if Im being totally honest. It wasnt horrible but it felt wierd for sure .The wait staff is the only reason I give an additional star. They were polite and fast. Nothing special but no demerits.Honestly if everything else was more flavorful I could have forgiven the broth being bland but everything in harmony was sad. Dont eat here unless youre sad or want to be sad

Solid choice for Japanese food in Daly City.Went right when it opened at 11:30 am because parking can be difficult. I suggest parking in the old Burlington parking lot and walk up to the restaurant.Food: ordered the bento box ($17). I chose the beef teriyaki and tempura combination. It is also served with rice, soup, and salad. The beef teriyaki was cut into thin slices and not drenched in sauce. The meat was cooked perfectly. The tempura is a simple dish, but Ive found some places put too much batter or overcook the vegetables. This wasnt the case at this restaurant. The vegetables were crisp and tasty. The shrimp tempura wasnt caked in batter. The salad could use a little more dressing. It was just average. The same can be said for the miso soup that arrived warm rather than hot. They do add mushrooms to the miso soup, which was a surprise. Finally finished up with their California rolls. Well, it was just average.Service: Our waitresses Lily was awesome. Its nice to run into people who actually enjoy their job. She brought our food out promptly and checked in on us several times to make sure we were enjoying our meals. Service with a smile made our dining experience that much better.

Crazily over expensive! We ordered an Alaskan king crab along with just a few other stuff. The price was not even listed on the menu and the server failed to mention the price.Upon entering the restaurant, we were all appalled by the disgusting wallpaper of crude cartoon fish, that had clearly been heavily graffitied on. Although we made a reservation, the servers apparently forgot about us, and made a big scene scraping a bunch of chairs across the ground. It should also be noted that they attempted to give us different color and height chairs, hoping we wouldn't notice, and that they would have to go through getting more chairs. Absolutely lazy and churlish. At one point, we inquired if the establishment had any wifi amenities. They said yes, but decided to not share the password with us.Throughout the service, the servers unprofessionally reached over everyone to place food on the grill, disrupting our dining. I must admit, they did an exceptional job at noticing when our plates were full of shell, and collected it for us.The crab was very tasty, but certainly not worth the price of $500+ by itself! That is a ridiculous amount for a crab. Upon searching up the price of the crab online, it is listed as about $100. What a scandal! However, I must applaud their porridge at the end of dinner service. At the start, they put some rice beneath all the food. While it all cooked, the juices dripped onto the rice. They put the rice into a porridge, and it was very tasty! Our final price was about $1,000.

April 4, 2023 - For our every 3months getogether, my good friend & I had a wonderful lunch @ this restaurant, Kamameshi, up on City Heights, Daly City. The food was good, the sashimis fresh. The servings were ample. The ambiance was kuhl, place was nicely setup & very clean. Most of all, the restaurant is lucky to have KAT, who was very amiable, helpful, good natured & just the right one for the position she has. Because of KAT we will return to this Japanese place again.

Today we had the worst experience with this vendor. We ordered food and realized 30 minutes later that five people who ordered after us got their food. So we checked in about our order and once again people who ordered after us got their order. We checked in again and they informed us that our order was sold out.At this point we'd been waiting 45 minutes in the cold with our baby daughter, had no food, and had to ask for a refund. No apology, no customer service no care in the world. They were extremely rude and unhelpful. Is it possible to give this vendor a zero stars?
