Gyu-Kaku Japanese BBQ
7862 Warner Ave #109, Huntington Beach, CA 92647, United States
My friend and I had our lunch here together at Gyu-Kaku Japanese BBQ in Huntington Beach, CA for our first time ever on September 27, 2021. We ordered the same foods on the menu, which was the Garlic Noodles with Vegetables, Tofu with Greens, and the Green Tea Tiramisu for Dessert! We were impressed with the delicious food and excellent service! It is not a Sushi Restaurant, as they do not have Sushi on the Menu, but their Noodles are awesome! I highly recommend this Restaurant.
Ikeda Japanese Dining
18900 Beach Blvd #112, Huntington Beach, CA 92648, United States
My wife and I were having our Kia serviced at the dealership on Beach Blvd. We decided to eat wile we waited and she found this Japanese Restaurant that was right across the street, Perfect! So we took a short walk and we were pleasantly surprised at this random find.We will surely return when we’re in the area. The food was excellent, the portions we generous and the service too notch. Our server was the perfect mix of an attentive and friendly. That type of quality service with the excellent food is in my mind the perfect mix for repeat customers. Something I noticed wile dining. So if you’re in Huntington Beach give Ikeda a try you won’t be disappointed.
Sea Salt Japanese Eatery

What a great Japanese restaurant, an amazing selection of wonderful menu options. Sea Salt provides a cozy and quaint feel with a local style. The wait staff are considerate and accommodating, while the chefs are talented and dedicated to their craft. The food doesnt disappoint and is well worth the time to stop by and try any of their dishes.
Kabuki

? Kabuki is one of my families favorite Japanese restaurants... but going back after the Covid lockdown was a disappointment. The restaurant was FILTHY!!!!! I mean really, youve had a year to clean the place. Food was good, service was ok, but clean your restaurant!#LOCALGUIDES #kabukibellaterra #kabuki #LOCALGUIDES #womenwhoguide #japanesefood #sushi #filthyrestaurants
Hashigo Sushi
18685 Main St, Huntington Beach, CA 92648, United States
This was the first time my husband and I came here. This is a Korean owned Japanese restaurant located on Main Street in the 5 Points plaza with plenty of parking. Heres an overview of our experience:Ambiance 3/5:Well decorated and modern looking but had an awkward seating arrangement. Didnt feel private enough and tabels seemed too close together. This is most likely due to the weird layout of the restaurant.Service 2/5:The waitress didnt seem friendly at all. Made me feel uncomfortable. A little slow for not too many people in the restaurant. No water refill :(. Whenever a restaurant has higher prices, customers will expect excellent service.Food - Rolls 3/5:Pretty overpriced for what we got. The 2 rolls were nothing special, small and a bit mediocre in taste. The Dragon Roll had too much eel sauce making the overall taste too sweet. The Crunchy Roll had way too much Tempura Flakes, seemed kind of unnecessary. I did however like the presentation.Food - Sushi 5/5:Probably the most impressive thing about our experience. The sushi was fresh, butter soft and not stringy! Loved how they added wasabi on top of the rice.
Habachihana Japanese Grill - Japanese Express
17221 Beach Blvd, Huntington Beach, CA 92647, United States
Japanese Teppan-style restaurant in Huntington Beach (one block south of Beach + Warner). This is actually a local chain, with a total of 7 restaurants all over SoCal, from HB all the way north to downtown LA and Pomona. I actually discovered them through their food truck, which is known to be around major events in SoCal. Let me just start by saying that the food is great. The meat is high-quality --whether you go for NY Strip or filet--, and so is the salmon. I had the NY Strip bowl and it was very tender and tasty. Im not sure going for the much more expensive filet mignon is worth the price. The pricing is a little perplexing, with sides being on the costly side. Also, there are surcharges if you want fried rice or Yakisoba noodles instead of white rice. And theyre not small surcharges... Although not cheap, the Yakisoba noodles are excellent and wouldnt lose in comparison with what Ive had in Japan. My wife had the grilled salmon, and she absolutely loved it. Service is good and relatively fast. Any faster and it wouldnt be that good. Service is good and corteous. All in all, a solid choice for this kind of food. Its not the cheapest (and if you know how much cheaper this food is in Japan youd cringe. Of course, this isnt Habachihanas fault...

Kai Modern Japanese Bistro
21058 Pacific Coast Hwy M230, Huntington Beach, CA 92648, United States
Totally thumbs down! First time I ever dined in a Japanese restaurant that didn’t offer steamed white rice! My 90 year old Japanese mother was shocked & definitely disappointed in the too many ingredient fried rice. The place wasn’t busy although too much for one inexperienced waitress. Everything hot was below average. We should have tried cold plates. You get what you pay for. You should invest in a quality chef and tweak your recipes!
Shima
10076 Adams Ave, Huntington Beach, CA 92646, United States
Go again? Yup. Teppanyaki without all the fuss of crowds. Good was good for the price and amounts were gooder. The cook was fun. A little disappointed he didn’t throw shrimp into the air for us to catch like seals, but that was the real low point. If you want a good teppanyaki experience without having to go to Benihana, the McDonald’s of fake Japanese restaurants, come to this place.
Sho Gun Japanese Restaurant
16561 Bolsa Chica St # 109, Huntington Beach, CA 92649, United States
One of the worst sushi places Ive been to. Service was terrible. When we ordered, the waitress made us feel like we were stupid. Food was terrible. We ordered salmon sashimi and it came out on a plate completely drenched in a pool of ponzu sauce. Also, each salmon was wrapped around a slice of avocado and ONION and topped with green onions. Not tasty AT ALL and clearly a failed attempt to mask fish that is not fresh. Even in the chirashi bowl, all of the sashimi was laid plain on the rice EXCEPT for the ponzu drenched, onion/avocado filled salmon. We finished eating and the waitress was hiding out in back for another 40 minutes no where to be found. It was just an overall horrible experience. Dont go here.
