This is not a place for first dates. Strictly a freshly made dish to go place. I recommend the tempura (eat it hot and fresh), the bento plates, gyoza or teriyaki bowls. Actually, this is the only place I can say I have never been disappointed in the slightest. The service is attentive to special requests and amazingly fast for fresh cooked items. I have been here 100s of times over the last 15 years and this place has always been most requested by the family. Most of he locals know this place and love it. Its worth googling for out of towners.

To celebrate our 20th anniversary, my husband and I wanted to experience something new. We didn’t have a wedding, reception, or honeymoon…or even have a photo of our wedding day, so it was important that we do something really special. Our demanding jobs only allowed a two-night stay and we happened across the Eden Vale Inn. What a luxurious treat! The innkeepers and staff were kind, friendly and quickly showed us around the room. After that, there was no further interaction except by text. Our stay was incredibly private, quiet, and I fear I am forever spoiled! Thick towels, complimentary slippers, use of warm robes, sound machine, fireplace, a private outdoor Japanese soaking tub…and my personal favorite: a “romance” button that simultaneously dimmed the lights and lit the fireplace!! Oh, and the included 3-course gourmet breakfasts were something you would see offered ant a fancy restaurant. Even though all 7 rooms were booked, we only met one other guest in passing. We cannot wait to return to this “little bit of heaven on earth.”

The 1st time we went here the girl behind the counter was very knowledgeable about the menu items and was able to suggest things for us to eat. The food came fairly quickly, the place was clean, and the atmosphere was nice. However this time when we went it was completely the opposite. The girl behind the counter obviously was new and not only did she not know the menu but she could not give us any suggestions. They either had their air conditioning off or it was broken which made the inside of that building 98ﾟ. It took almost an hour for our food to be ready. In the meantime I had left and went out to the car because it was way too hot in there. My husband waited for the food and unfortunately it was lukewarm. I dont know if it had been sitting on the counter or what but it was an unfortunate experience this time. Not sure that we will ever go back.

A couple of months ago, I would have made this a 5-star review, but a recent lunchtime experience ruined it for me. My wife and I would usually save up our appetites and excitement to come visit Amerikan Ichi on a weekend with another couple, on the rare occasions when we could arrange babysitters at the same time. We loved our dinners here.However, recently I had a rare weekday off of work, and decided to have a special lunch with my wife and sushi. We arrived and were seated quickly enough, and we placed our order rather quickly, but thats where it ended.We waited for a solid hour without getting our food. The waitress only came by to check on us one time, after 30 minutes, and told us that our food was coming right up (incorrectly). At least 4 other table were sat, ordered, and served before we got our food. At least one table (seated well after us) actually ordered SECONDS before our food came up. No one came over to update us, apologize for the long wait, or explain anything.We finally gave up and walked out (after over an hour), and as we got to the door, they started trying to bring our food out. At that point, we were so annoyed and upset at the total lack of communication, we just left. If someone had simply come and apologized, explained that our ticket got lost, or SOMETHING, we would probably have been fine.We come from a family FULL of food service people, and really pride ourselves in being the most laid-back customers you could ever have, but the way they treated us (on a rather slow weekday lunch crowd, where we were clearly visible in a small room) left a HORRIBLE taste in our mouths, and I really dont know if well be going back. That makes me sad, because this used to be our special date night with friends restaurant.

Today is Saturday. I invited my friends to the buffet restaurant of the casino for lunch. We lined up to enter at 12:00. We took our plates and walked around and looked at all the dishes. The one that caught my eye the most was the Japanese style. The sushi is very, very beautiful! It is rich in color and unique in shape, which completely changes the single way of making sushi in the past. In the past, a lot of chili sauce and chopped green onions were always put on sushi. Makes you feel unappetizing. But today’s sushi was so amazing that I couldn’t help but take out my phone to take photos and share them with my friends.

This past weekend we were driving into the mountains and our car lost power and the engine wouldnt start. All Auto Repair was one of only a few auto shops open on Saturdays. I called and asked if they could take a look at my car right away. AAA towed us there and the mechanics looked at my car immediately. My car had catastrophic engine failure and Dave was very accommodating and let us leave the car there over the weekend while we figured out what we were going to do next. He then went above and beyond and drove all 3 people and our 3 dogs home to Sacramento. I have not met such a nice person and mechanic in a long time. We were so glad that we stumbled upon his auto shop and we cant wait to use his auto repair services in the future! Thank you again!
