Tofu House Korean B.B.Q.
5550 California Ave Ste 106, Bakersfield, CA 93309, United States
Finally a Korean restaurant in Bakersfield that matches the menu and quality of its LA counterparts. Although the soon tofu soup is not fore everyone, it has become one of my all time favorite dishes especially on a cold winter day. If you are feeling adventurous, try the seafood pancake. You will not regret it! The staff is very attentive and willing to answer any questions you may have. The Korean pop music videos playing on the TVs around the restaurant are pretty entertaining.

So far one of the best Korean Restaurant in Bakersfield. The side dishes are awesome! Been here twice and they never fail me every time. Servers are attentive and portions are decent. A bit pricey but you get what you pay for with the quality of food that they serve. I just wish that they have the all you can eat buffet option.

Being a Korean family ourselves and lovers of authentic Korean cuisine, we were excited to have a new Korean restaurant in town to try. We were so impressed with our experience!! The restaurant was small but very clean and neatly decorated, and the staff were very welcoming and friendly. The menu was huge, with everything from popular Korean snack foods and appetizers, to authentic traditional dinner dishes, all very similar to what we have had in Seoul. The banchan (side dishes) were so fresh and tasty, and refilled upon request. Their kimchi in particular was to die for! For our party of five, we ordered the bossam pork (lettuce wrapped pork belly), spicy seafood hot pot stew, beef and potato hot pot stew, and pork bulgogi to share; we all ate until we were stuffed and had leftovers to take home for dinner the next day. We can't wait to come back again soon and try more of their delicious dishes, and recommend this restaurant highly!!

The food is always amazing and usually the service is great, but today Tiffany appeared to be having a bad day and was taking it out on customers by being short and rude. She did not smile or verbally greet me and her customer service skills were severely lacking. Hopefully tomorrow she'll have a better day and treat her customers with some dignity and respect and remember that customers are literally the reason she has a job! On a side note….isn't Magic Sauce so tasty?? I actually bought a bottle!

Be careful of what you order. I ordered a plate with all Brown rice and half-and-half on the meat. The store owner started up charging me $.50 because I ordered all Rice even though it shows as an option on their menu. When I questioned them, they say that's just how it's done. So even though I'm not getting the vegetables or the coleslaw and the orange she wanted me to pay $.50 extra for that and then charge me another dollar for extra meat which I didn't ask for. Just wanted to regular serving of meat. so I got no credit for what I did not take such as the vegetables coleslaw and orange and got charged $.50 for all rice instead of rice and vegetables even though their menu states that is an option without any indication that there is a change in pricing for that option. Then assumed that I wanted extra meat to replace what I wasn't getting and wanted to charge me $.50 for the beef and $.50 for the chicken ending up with $1.50 in up charges it was never explained prior to ordering. Nor does it make sense. Never asked for the extra meat and I'm not getting three items instead of the rice that I'm replacing the vegetables for.

Walking in it looks like a cozy place to enjoy a meal and with indoor and outdoor seating options thats definitely the case. I did find the line organization was awkward due to its small size but lets be real, were talking food and service.Flame Broiler in my opinion has fine service, not the greatest. Employees looked busy which makes sense considering I went for lunch, but they were quick and effective even if not the friendliest. Though one lovely bit is they bring your food to you and call you by name. The main three proteins are chicken, beef, and tofu mixed in with white or brown rice and veggies. I tried the half and half (chicken and beef) with white rice. If you enjoy char chicken youre in for a treat. The beef itself was fantastic and with two options for sauces and additional toppings youll be sure to have your regular bowl.Highly recommended.

I have never been to a more unprofessional facility in my entire life. As a restaurant business, the customers should always be main priority, but not here. I went in yesterday, and bought some food with a hundred dollar bill. The cashier hands me back my change with a twenty that looked really old. I mentioned it to her, and she assured me she checked it with the machine, and it was real. Today I went to use the twenty, and was accused of it being fake. I then called the location today, asked to speak with manager, and the girl who answered told me they were not there. She then proceeded by asking me what was the problem, and after I explained to her the problem she told me she will go talk to the boss. I then asked why she told me the manager was not there, and told me she was the manager. I asked for her name and she then replied I dont have to give it to you, and that her Boss will get back to me if I wanted to leave my name and number, and to stop arguing with her. I highly recommend to NOT go here unless you want to deal with very rude employees. If a business makes it hard for you to be in touch with a manager, or owner, then it is not a well ran business. Which this business is not well ran whatsoever. If I could I would give absolutely no stars.
ReMix Asian Kitchen & Ramen

I miss them so much. They were hands down my favorite restaurant and I don't know where they went!I went to Remix to celebrate, to eat, to feel better, to unwind, to prepare, and to feel welcomed: it was a place where I felt at peace as if the food was healing. You can't pay enough for a place or people or food that makes you feel that way.Flame and Fire, O Ramen, Hon Ramen, Bentos, Vice Roy, Frugatties, and Hungry Hunter can't hold a candle to Remix and now that they are gone eating out isn't the same. The pork was always nice and thick pieces that were so tender they'd fall apart on your chop sticks! The broth was always creamy yet light and perfectly seasoned! The egg was always so well seasoned, and perfectly soft and creamy! the noodles!!!!! The noodles were always perfect and never ever slimy. Not to mention the staff: I loved talking with them, and they always remembered my wife and I, even if it had been several months: they always seemed l humble, and when I was at their table, I felt like I was welcomed by everybody, the owner would tell me about Japan and where he got his inspiration, his sister always remembered our orders, the young lady that worked the counter and cooked was always quick and very tidy, and the older woman who cooked knew how to make the food PERFECT and together their food and their restaurant made me smile. It's been a little over 3 months since they closed, maybe longer, so I finally broke down and went to O Ramen and it was so bad I nearly cried! The noodles were slimy, the egg tasted like smoke, the pork was as thin as deli meat, and the broth tasted like buttermilk!!! Not to mention my chicken katsu was so over cooked that the meat shriveled inside the breading. Maybe that's traditional ramen, I don't really know, but it tasted processed and over cooked.Remix I miss you and your whole family: it makes you guys who you are, and it makes you the best: even if you don't have a line out the door every Saturday night. Please come back, Bakersfield needs you!
K Wings
8200 Stockdale Hwy ste k-4, Bakersfield, CA 93311, United States
Bob Bok Chicken closed so I was forced to look for another Korean wings chicken place. I was excited to try K Wings Korean chicken. Come to find out their chicken was not Korean but tasted like Chinese takeout. I tried their Takoyaki, the Oh! K fries, and the Sweet & Spicy chicken. The Takoyaki was okay but it felt like it was missing something. The Oh! K fries were supposed to be garlic butter but all I tasted was no garlic but Parmesan and butter. There was no salt. The sweet and spicy chicken was spicy but I expected them to use Gochujang chili paste instead of spicy sweet and sour sauce. I was disappointed and will look for another Korean wing place.
