Kpop Foodz - Korean Food
35400 Date Palm Dr, Cathedral City, CA 92234, United States
Hole in the wall Korean food place...with AUTHENTIC Korean food, I should add. Have missed good Bibimbap since moving from LA and close proximity to K Town...finally found it at K Pop. Owners work the kitchen and are extremely nice. Service is spotty only because they are in that opening phase...it will get better. If you like Korean fast food, K Pop is the perfect choice!

This was my first time at this restaurant. While I cant say it was a bad experience, it wasnt what I hoped for. I had the korean spring rolls(fried, seaweed wrapped glass noodles) which had good tasted but were extremely small, especially for nearly $9, and take an extremely long time to get down to a temperature where you wont burn your mouth. I also had the spicy dwaejibulgogi(되지불고기, bbq pork). I would have been surprised if there was even 4 oz. of meat in the dish as it was 75% onions. It had great flavor, but I was disappointed to find it was made spicy with jalapeños rather than the myriad of spicy options from a country famous for spicy food. Amazing, nigh perfect service from the waitress, but just not the food I expected from a restaurant serving Korean food, particularly for $43(spring rolls app, pork entree, and a can of coke) and still leaving not feeling full.

Great food, great service!!Started out with a delicious Thai Iced-tea. I ordered Korean Corn Dog (no hot dog. Cheese inside), but very tasty!the sweet fire fried chicken; so good! Its small bite-sized pieces of chicken battered and fried then sauces. The sauce is a good combination of sweet and spicy. Comes with rice, fried rice cakes (almost the consistency of mochi, but not sweet) and a salad. The rice was cooked perfectly, easy to grab with chopsticks. The salad comes with a light vinaigrette dressing. The service was great; thanks Isaias! He gave great recommendations and the right amount of attention to see if we needed anything. The ambiance was nice, very clean.Definitely looking forward to coming back and trying out some more of their delicious looking food.

Otori Sushi

Otori has has won a special place amongst some of my favorite places to dine.At first, it may not look like much from the outside as it is on a far humble corner of a small shopping center but once inside you are greeted by the friendliest staff I have ever encountered. The ladies waiting tables are constantly making rounds checking on you and anything you might need or want... their suggestions are always pretty awesome. The front end, tables and booths (even the restrooms) are tidy and clean for guests at all times. Quick to take orders and wait times for food are usually short. The food is above and beyond expectations. All sushi is carefully hand-made and made to order... no frozen food here! I have been able to witness the cleanliness and organization of the sushi chefs behind the counter; they are the best at what they do. One of the owners is always behind the counter preparing food and is always attentive to the rest of his guest and staff the whole time.Prices for food is decently priced and has happy hour specials for late nighters. The times I have returned, the owner and the staff are always so pleasant and I appreciate that they remember you and personalize the service to YOU.Dōmo arigatō! どうもありがとう
Trader Joes
67720 E Palm Canyon Dr, Cathedral City, CA 92234, United States
We are visiting from South Orange County. We visit Palm Springs often and have for years. Whenever we are here our first stop is always Trader Joe's. One of the great things about TJs is that they are consistently clean, well stocked and super friendly. You can always find the items you like here. The produce is fresh and beautiful. We grilled some salmon the other night that we purchased here. It was perfection! What most people (that don't shop here) don't realize is that TJs is so inexpensive. I get it. It LOOKS expensive. And the quality of the food would be much higher priced anywhere else. But it's very competitively priced. I paid the same amount per pound for TJs salmon that I would have paid at any other chain grocery store. But the quality of the seafood at TJs is just so much better. Give it a try. Seriously. The staff is always nice and if there's a wait they always open more register. Always. One last thing. If you are trying to improve the way you eat and want quality, start here. I wouldn't know how to feed my family without Trader Joe's.
Fil Am Oriental Market
34010 Date Palm Dr, Cathedral City, CA 92234, United States
Great little Philippine/Asian market stuffed with all kinds of product. Also offering take out prepared food. You wont be disappointed. The only place I can find Thai Chilies. What a treasure! I love to cook, (and eat). If you love Asian/Thai, then this place has it all! From the outside you wouldnt think of patronizing this place. But inside they are a small grocery store packed to the gills with tons of unusual products. Unfortunately, I dont know how to cook with most of this stuff but thats okay since they also have a small assortment of cooked items for take-out or you can sit at a communal table and enjoy on site. I had lunch there and it was delish and affordable! I was also thrilled to see that they have quail and duck eggs. I have wanted to use them in the past but didnt know where to buy them. This is a small family run business. I am told that their son, who works at the store, drove in the Fast and Furious movie. I saw his car outside...take a look at all of my pictures. They tell you the story better than this review.
Bubbas Bones & Brews - Cathedral City, CA

I must have gone on a bad day or something because I see a lot of rave reviews on this place. I went today for the first time. I had such high hopes and was so excited after seeing the menu and couldn't wait to sink my teeth into the food. The service was very good, but I was completely disappointed in the food. I had the Mac Daddy and I expected the complete opposite of what came to the table. I'm from Oklahoma and Texas where the bbq is amazing and the portions huge. The Mac Daddy sounded like a great combo of flavors all in one sandwich. It was completely void of any flavor at all. The burger patty was just plain with no flavor or seasoning. The brisket was dry and no flavor either and tasted like a thick piece of dry ham. And I don't know why but I expected the Mac and cheese to be more like a baked Mac and cheese or at least more thick in consistency. It was watery and runny and looked like it came out of a can. And it had less flavor as the rest of the ingredients. And there was about a tablespoon of bbq on the sandwich which was lost in all the runny watery cheese that the Mac was soaking in. What would have been great would be baked or even deep fried Mac and cheese on top of everything. But it literally looked like they just opened a can of Mac and cheese and poured it all over the top which just made everything wet and filled the plate with running Mac and cheese. I don't ever write reviews because I just don't like saying bad things about restaurants. But I just had to write this one. It just wasn't good at all and had zero flavor. Maybe I just picked the wrong item, although that was recommended to me by the server. So I will surely try it again and hopefully next time get something better. But I would definitely not order the Mac daddy again or anything that has Mac and cheese on it. I'm sorry for the poor review, but maybe you might possibly what to rethink the runny Mac and cheese, and maybe ad some seasoning to the food. I have seriously never had bbq with no flavor to it. It just surprised me so much.
Hamachi Sushi
31855 Date Palm Dr STE 11, Cathedral City, CA 92234, United States
It was very busy, but the food was not authentic. It was clearly made for a clientele that does not know or does not want authentic Japanese food.I had ramen, which was not ramen, it was actually Ramyun, the Korean version of ramen. I cant be sure but it seemed to be an augmented version of instant noodle. The presentation was very messy, and while the price was very inexpensive, the value was worth less than the meal.Jalapeno Poppers were good, fresh jalapeno stuffed with cream cheese and spicy tuna.Chicken teriyaki for children was ok. The chicken was notably well cooked, but over sauced. The sushi we got was what is traditionally called barazushi, but this was kind of a mix of barazushi and ceviche. Not the flavor profile we were looking for. The cuts of fish were also not great, and the presentation was again really messy. Both the ramen and the sushi were unappetizing to look at. I feel the clientele who were predominantly Hispanic might be used and like the flavor profiles produced by the restaurant and if that is a flavor profile you like, its probably pretty goodI say stay away from the ramen, but the deep fried goods seemed good, and the rolls looked pretty good. The hand rolls looked good too.Overall reasonable in pricing, but if youre looking for authentic Japanese food, you need to look elsewhere.

I had a very strange visit here, there is an am/pm here and I just stopped for a tasty beverage when I was almost killed by a speeding police officer who was traveling at an enormous speed responding to the naked man running through both directions of traffic trying to get someone to run him over, I felt there were was too many policemen ambulances and fire engines responding to one naked man but I guess thats more of a Cathedral City review but being the scariest, strange and hilarious things Ive ever experienced I just had to share it with you all, Happy traveling everybody !!!
