Manna Restaurant
622 3rd St, Davis, CA 95616, United States
Okay I’m Korean so I have a little more say: they do have that special, fluorescent light nostalgia that is characteristic with practically EVERY small korean restaurant hideaway. I don’t know why I love it so much. But I have some concerns:1. Why is their plate of galbi $20+? Costco is cheaper... even 5 star restaurants in LA are cheaper (and better). Don’t get me wrong, it was fine, but just that. Nothing special.2. BBQ is overpriced - not the best quality either.3. Wish they had more options.4. A little oily.Pros:Banchan (side dishes) was pretty standard but the best I could get from Davis campus (besides making my own or going to Kim’s Mart).Welcoming staff.Only korean restaurant within a five mile radius from my house.

T-Kumi Ramen & Rice Bowl
Second Floor, 1260 Lake Blvd #267, Davis, CA 95616, United States
Its tasty, you have to open your egg first because doing so makes the broth thicker. For Tonkatsu ramen its very thin broth. Personally I like a thicker both, taste wise it did not disappoint. The noodles and thick and tough not soggy which is good, you can let your ramen sit for a while to soften the noodles to your likeing. This is my second time getting ramen here so for its consistent and I appreciate that. Its also very clean inside, its has chairs and tables inside to sit down and eat but its set more for take out. The employees are also all very nice and inviting great people skills so Id go again and Id recommend it to others?Oh and the images below are what I got, the black garlic tonkatsu with pork chashu, it has a smoky taste compared to og tonkatsu

Brothers BBQ
1292 Davis St, San Leandro, CA 94577, United States
A decent Korean restaurant in the middle of San Leandro. What I really like about them is that they open until 3pm for lunch, so when I got stuck on a late or meeting or something I can still swing by here for a bite to eat.One thing I like is they serve naeng myun, which is the buckwheat cold noodle. And when they say its cold, theyre not kidding around. Youll see ice cubes floating on the soup. Its so refreshing during hot summer (yall know how hot summer in the East Bay can be).Their other menus are standard korean dishes like bi bim bap, pork bulgogi, etc. Theyre all delicious and served with plenty servings of banchan (side dishes). Love it.

Taqueria Davis

I stopped here for the first time to get a $10.50 super beef burrito for takeout. There were several people in the restaurant, and the person who took my order was cheerful and friendly. But, when I left with my order, and was back on the road, it was very disappointing to open the wrapper and bite into a cold burrito. The burrito was very cold on one side, and barely warm on the other side. It tasted as though it had been prepared a day ahead of time and then heated up in the microwave. The meat was dry and had a lot of gristle. It was supposed to be a super burrito - Menu states it should have contained:Super: Meat, Beans, Rice, Salsa, Cheese, Lettuce, Sour Cream & GuacamoleThe burrito I got only contained rice and beans and no salsa that I could detect. Not sure what happened, but just a warning to others to check your take-out before you leave.

Kims Mart
628 4th St, Davis, CA 95616, United States
An excellent little grocery store for those who need their Asian specialty foods. The meats & vegetables are fresh, the shelves are well stocked & Kims also makes fresh meals daily at excellent prices. For a fraction of the price of other stores, you can get real lemongrass, bags of mung or soy sprouts. They have a range of teas, and the snack aisle is full of tasty treats from Japan. Its one of my favorite stores & a place I have brought visiting students to do they can get a little slice of home while in Davis.

Drakes Brewing Company
1933 Davis St #177, San Leandro, CA 94577, United States
We have some unfortunate news and are disappointed to announce Drakes Brewery has pulled their sponsorship, only three days before Fans Fest. LDB/68's have incurred expenses purchasing sponsor banners, a digital marketing package and had rented equipment to set up a Drakes beer booth but are now left with no Drakes beer to serve and banners we will have to be recreated and printed just days before the event. They were our first beer sponsor, and we were so thrilled to announce them. The announcement of their support and sponsorship of Fans' Fest was very well received by the Oakland 68's and Last Dive Bar's combined 30k+ followers across social media platforms. Unfortunately to see that support not come to fruition is very, very disheartening. These fans don't deserve another beloved “community favorite” turning their backs on them. Our coordinating team were only provided with “unforeseen circumstances” as a reason as to why they were pulling their sponsorship. They have not provided any further details despite us seeking further clarification via email. For every sponsor supporting Fans Fest a digital media package is created for each one. Posters and banners were made. For beer sponsors, equipment is rented as well.#2024FansFest #Bloc15Oakland #JackLondonSquare #Oakland #FansFest #Bloc15 #LastDiveBar #Oakland68sA post event coffee table memory book is already in production and will now have to be edited, re formatted and submitted again.

Davis Food Co-op
620 G St, Davis, CA 95616, United States
Coop has changed and many of us long time members think not for the better, unfortunately. Coop no longer carries many of the natural not chemical infused products we sought out there. Becoming more like a Safeway trending to mainstream -not so healthy product lines. Only a few employees have the former customer focused attitude but many dont; the newer ones really dont know what customer service is and can be downright dismissive if one asks for legitimate assistance. It does not feel welcoming and like a cooperative place any more, so sad to say. On the bright side, the produce guy has upped the game to emphasize local organics. The wellness Dept needs some folks who know products and care about wellness. Of late, Wellness Products are not all natural & have some undesirable additives as well as untrained help with nasty attitudes when you ask a reasonable question. But still the best selection in town by default --no competition since we lost Whole Foods. Sprouts, anyone? Check expiration dates especially in dairy and deli products! In the past, calls about products were returned without fail but no more. Lets bring the good spirit & stuff that used to be the heart and soul of the Davis Coop back again. You can be better with some genuine effort! I used to feel proud as a member to have the Coop as part of the Davis unique but so much seems to have been lost, sadly.

Huku Japanese Bistro
417 Mace Blvd D, Davis, CA 95618, United States
The spicy scallop hand role tasted like kimchi spice. I asked the server if this restaurant is Korean owned. She said yes. I love Korean food but not mixed with Japanese sushi. The sashimi slices were approximately 3/4” thick. Could slice it thinner for a better texture and get more slices as well. Soft shell crab roll was good aka spider roll. - Makoa, Kaikua’ana MC

Solid Korean owned Japanese restaurant. You get a spoon with your miso soup! Flavors are good overall, Korean-ish-style udon good, sushi was fine. Note: decent variety of ramen is on menu but this is not a specialty ramen shop (didnt try it).

Mandro Teahouse
1260 Lake Blvd, Davis, CA 95616, United States
I was made to feel completely unwelcomebecause I wanted my milk tea with matcha have a green and black tea base. Im 42 years old and have reverse receptors in my brain. the extra caffeine is needed. I know what I like. I was so extremely polite and they rejected me in a like never came back sort of way. I was born overseas where hospitality is everything...this sort of behavior I suppose is the norm now?.. I was just felt feeling completely hurt. No advice was given to even steer me with the menu. She just flat out rushed to say no. It felt more like an attack than customer service. There is a far cry from we wont do that. Company policy. To, Im so sorry we cant do that but what are you looking for maybe I can recommend a drink off the menu? Like just a flat explitive inserted no. Just mean. So mean. They snobily rejected me because I asked for an drink that I like and have already had. I didnt even get to try this place out...the lady who was helping me was all ego and was actually super happy to make me feel uncomfortable. I dont feel this is a safe place. Thinking about the whole exchange just hurts my heart and she made me cry because of how rude she was. I am Autistic. Human interactions are super hard for me and it is very difficult for me to try new things. I feel completely floored and dehumanized.
