Genwa Korean BBQ (Mid Wilshire)
5115 Wilshire Blvd, Los Angeles, CA 90036, United States
Genwa Korean BBQ in Wilshire is the place to go if you are craving for Korean foods. Maybe theyre not the best Korean restaurant in Los Angeles but their food is worth spending the money. They have huge selections of foods and you can grill your own bbq right at your table. No need to worry about your clothes because the bbq smell is not that strong. Their crews were attentive and will check you from time to time.I am in love with their bulgogi. The best bulgogi i have eaten in my whole life. I am planning to come again next week and I will bring my family with me because they also love korean foods. I am sure they gonna love this restaurant. I cant wait to taste their Kimchee. If ever youre planning to visit L.A and you are a big fan of korean foods, Genwa korean bbq is the place you should visit. Their location is so easy to find.
Yuchun Restaurant
3185 W Olympic Blvd, Los Angeles, CA 90006, United States
Yuchun is my go to spot for Korean noodles and dumplings in Los Angeles.I must note in advance though that the service is not that great. Essentially, this restaurant is a great example of a restaurant serving amazing food but lacks in service. If you are asian, I am sure you can think of a handful of restaurants like this. Regardless however, I can almost guarantee, that you will find yourself coming back for the food.Yuchun is known for their cold noodles, whether this is their mul naengmyeon (물냉면) or bibim naengymyeon (비빔냉면). The main difference between the two is one is served with a cold broth* and the other is served with a cold sweet and spicy, red sauce.*In case you are not familiar with how to eat mul naengmyeon, you are generally given vinegar and horseradish to season your cold broth to your taste. The white vinegar gives the broth a tanginess and the yellow horseradish sauce is there to give it a little kick if you like spicy foods. Do note that horseradish sauce is in essence what is used to create wasabi. If you add too much it will affect your nasal cavity first.Yuchun is also known for their (김치왕만두) or giant steamed kimchi dumplings. I absolutely love these dumplings and would 10/10 recommend! The restaurant sells its frozen dumplings by the bag so you can purchase them if you would like. While you are there, do not forget to take advantage of the self service hot broth offered. It’s called yooksoo (육수), or savory beef stock. People typically drink this before eating the cold noodles. In case you needed further elaboration regarding my note above, this location gets pretty packed during the day and the staff is understaffed, with the more skilled kitchen workers occasionally not being present, leading to Yuchun being “sold out” of menu items. Service may also be a bit worse to guests who do not speak Korean as the hired staff are generally Korean and/or speak limited English. If service is king for you, you may not like this restaurant. However, I highly recommend you to at least try the food before making a verdict.(By the way, the noodles at this location are better than the ones at the new location that opened up in Buena Park).
Genwa Korean BBQ (Downtown LA)
450 W Olympic Blvd Suite B/C, Los Angeles, CA 90015, United States
Parking:Finding parking in Downtown LA is always a challenge. Metered street parking is available until 8 PM, except on Sundays. Additionally, there is a public parking lot behind 7-Eleven across the restaurant on S Grand Ave, which requires a fee. To avoid the hassle of parking, we decided to walk to the restaurant.Service:Upon our arrival, our server, Christina L., warmly greeted us and escorted us to our table. We had a pleasant experience with her service. We visited on a Thursday at 3 PM and found ourselves as the only customers there.Ambiance:Genwa Korean BBQ sets itself apart from typical AYCE KBBQ joints with its upscale ambiance. The restaurant is conveniently located on a corner, making it easy to spot. Inside, there is a cozy bar that offers a selection of alcoholic beverages.Menu and Ordering:Genwas menu includes a lunch menu on weekdays from 12 PM to 3 PM, excluding holidays. Unfortunately, we arrived a few minutes after the cutoff time, and the server informed us that the ordering system switches promptly at 3 PM. Although we were disappointed, we understood the policy. The menu at Genwa diverges from the traditional AYCE KBBQ experience and features a range of higher-priced options. They provide set courses labeled A to E, each tailored to a specific number of people, with higher-letter courses being more expensive. I have attached pictures of the menu for detailed course descriptions and other offerings.Food Quality and Preparation:The Banchan (Korean side dishes) at Genwa were delicious, and we appreciated that they offered unlimited refills. The quality of the meat was noticeably superior to that of typical AYCE KBBQ places. The bulgogi stood out as one of the best dishes, and we wished we had received larger portions of all the meats in our Course C. The Dolsot Bibimbap, which came towards the end of the meat course, didnt meet our expectations. We would have preferred some basic white rice to complement our meat. We enjoyed the fact that our server cooked the meat for us entirely.Dessert:For dessert, we opted for the Hotteok, a Korean sweet pancake served with a choice of vanilla or green tea ice cream for $20. Unfortunately, the portion size didnt meet our expectations for three people, and the flavor didnt quite justify the premium price tag. We had a more satisfying hotteok experience at a different AYCE KBBQ restaurant where you could order as many as you desired. I will attach a picture of the Hotteok for reference.Value for Price:Genwa Korean BBQ offers an upscale a la carte experience, with higher prices reflecting the quality of the meat. However, considering the relatively small portion sizes of our course and overall satisfaction, the cost left us somewhat disappointed. The final bill for Course C and dessert amounted to $70+, which we found to be on the steep side when splitting it between three people.Overall Impression:Genwa Korean BBQ is worth considering if youre looking for an upscale a la carte KBBQ experience in the heart of Downtown Los Angeles. I would rate our experience at Genwa Korean BBQ as 3 out of 5 stars. The restaurant offers a pleasant ambiance, delivers high-quality food, and ensures you wont leave smelling like meat! However, the combination of high prices, small portions, and the challenge of street parking makes it a less appealing dining option. If youre seeking a more budget-friendly experience, Koreatown, just 3 miles away, offers plenty of options. Genwa is better suited for date nights, meat enthusiasts, or corporate gatherings.Date and Time of Visit: June 2023 on a Thursday at 3:00 PM
Manna Korean BBQ
333 Alameda St #305, Los Angeles, CA 90013, United States
I found this venue to be a great option for Korean BBQ in the DTLA area. The food itself was wonderful, easily some of the best Korean BBQ I have had, and I have had a good selection across Los Angeles. The venue itself is very clean, with low-key lighting a convenient buffet for the sides, and very spacious, suitable for parties of any size. I went with a group of 15 people and we were easily seated during lunch on a weekday. I highly recommend this restaurant for a great Korean BBQ experience in DTLA.
Corner Place Restaurant
2819 James M Wood Blvd, Los Angeles, CA 90006, United States
The Corner Place is hands down my best Korean gogijip () for cold noodles ( ). Ive been going to this place for the last couple of years and its always packed and the moment you step inside, it smells like meat heaven. When my friends and I come here, we always order our own bowl of cold noodles and #12 on the menu (Ghilmok Gui or their House special). Just a side note, I noticed that the restaurant recently expanded next door so you wont have to wait as much.Whats different from the house special and their regular short rib is that theres less sauce so its not as sweet compared to the regular short rib. I feel thats all you ever need if you ever come to eat here. What Ive learned from friends is to order your cold noodles, grill your meat and eat both the meat and the noodles together...foodgasm~~~ Do not forget to order some garlic slices and grill them with a drizzle of sesame oil. Itll provide a nice flavor to your meat and noodles.Whether youre new to LA or visiting, this spot is a must try! Youll love the soup to the cold noodles, especially when the weather is extremely hot, which is almost everyday in LA. It has a decadent sweet taste to it and refreshes your body as you drink it.
Dream Korean BBQ
100 S Western Ave, Los Angeles, CA 90004, United States
Ok... where do I start. ...I am not Korean and absolutely LOVE this place. The reason I mention Im not Korean is because the staff treats everyone no matter what your race/ethnicity is with kindness, respect, and professionalism. Ive taken my Black, White, and Hispanic friends here and they are so friendly and the food is DELICIOUS! Their customer service is also TOP NOTCH! There are other Korean bbq restaurants my family has went to in this area and they dont compare anywhere near this place. Lastly, I called to confirm their hours and no one answered.... two minutes later, they actually called me back...AMAZING! Whenever my friends are looking for an amazing dining experience, I always send them here! My family has lived in K-town now for three years and we are so happy this place was recently built here. Oh yeah, living around here. ..I can tell you parking is horrible BUT this restaurant has valet parking and its really inexpensive, so you dont have to worry about searching for parking which is a huge plus! Try it....I promise. .. you wont be disappointed! :)

Wa ssada Restaurant
377 N Western Ave, Los Angeles, CA 90004, United States
Its my first time to have raw fish from a Korean restaurant. The fish out of the fish tank freshly cut to brings to our table. It needs the best quality fish to cook as raw. Very delicious and different taste than Japanese sashimi.
BBQRICE Korean BBQ Bowl
7363 Sunset Blvd, Los Angeles, CA 90046, United States
Crazy taste... Its so delicious I feel like crying. I went to a Korean restaurant that was said to be delicious while traveling in the U.S., but it just felt like a Korean restaurant in the U.S., but this is a restaurant I would go to often even if I was in Korea. The prices were even reasonable... ㅜㅜㅜ Thank you so much. If you are visiting Hollywood, please be sure to stop by ㅜㅜI usually dont leave reviews, but this place is really...?
