Rice and Rolld - Soup on the Go
134 W Yosemite Ave, Manteca, CA 95336, United States
Been wanting to try this place for mths now. Finally door dashed today. Sooo underwhelmed with Everything I order.First off, I base my reviews of restaurants on that cusines signature dish. I do not compare restaurant to restaurant.Second, the basic combo Pho is my goto order when first trying any Vietnamese restaurant. If they can master their pho broth, then I know the intuition of the chefs/cooks will playout in every other dish they offer.I am one of those pho people that enjoy the broth at its purest state after simmering for hours. I do not pollute any pho broth by adding condiments. I had to compromise with RiceNRolls broth. I had to actually break my fish sauce outta fridge, just to add umami, and use the condiments provided. For me, this rarely happens with restaurant broth.RiceNRoll broth had zero flavor, not just saltiness, but zero basic pho seasoning herbal flavor. One thing it did have was a decent beefy depth in the broth, thats the 2stars. I paid $16 for a large, I got 3 slices super thin brisket, 5 slices of rare beef, 3 strands of tripe, 1 cube of tendon, 2 slices of flank, I think. The meat to noodles ratio was lacking for the value of the price paid. The spring rolls were fine. If anyone messes up spring rolls, just hang up the chef hat.Ok, now, this is what threw me over the edge. I order a Vietnamese Coffee, light ice, less sugar. WTAF riceNroll?!!I got a generic latte posing as a Vietnamese Coffee. Anyone who has had a Vietnamese Coffee understands the flavor profile. RiceNRoll Coffee had Zero, I mean ZERO boldness, not even a touch of the bitterness undertones, and why The Hell would you put creamer/halfnhalf in my Vietnamese Coffee. Where the hell was the condensed milk. I requested less sweet, Not less Vietnamese!Yeah, so in conclusion. It is blantly apparent that most Ethic restaurants in small towns cater to the demographic. They can get away with less effort being put into showcasing a cusine in the best possible light without much backlash.Im so dissapoint I have yet to find a decent Vietnamese restaurant in Manteca. I have tried every single one. I live in Stockton but on the outskirts closer to Manteca and wish I didnt have to drive to north Stockton every time I wanted a decent bowl of Pho.Someone sign my petition to bring at least 1 decent Vietnamese Restaurant to SouthSide Stockton! Everyones scared if us ?

Im giving this rating 2 stars because we like the food. Otherwise it would be 1 star for the following reasons. Staff was pleasant not out going or positive but just pleasant. With that said the cleanliness...we should have left once we walked in the door. Keep in mind there were 5 customers in the establishment at the time. Our family wont be eating at the Manteca location again if there is food droppings all along the food bin aisle floor, the sauce counter was not appealing- droppings of food as well as sauce all along the counter. We tried looking for a high chair that looked whipped down at the end of the day but found none. You have 3 teenagers working that day and the place looked as if it hadnt been clean in 2 days. The manager should make an effort to TEACH the staff how to properly clean. If the establishment is not at the very least clean what makes the owners think customers trust the handling of the food being prepared.

This is a lovely new boba and more location in Manteca. Been waiting to try their boba since they've opened and I would have to say, they did not disappoint! I ordered the Thai green tea, and it was delicious! I did not have to tell them to adjust any sweetness, usually I prefer it not as sweet, so it was a definitely a plus! I ordered the mango habanero chicken wings, garlic noodles and fries. All of them were really good, especially the garlic noodles! Highly recommend! Will definitely be back to try more things on the menu for sure! They are doing great for a new business! The prices are also very reasonable, I would like to add.
Franks Downtown Caf
162 N Maple Ave, Manteca, CA 95336, United States
The one star is for the taste of the food which was pretty good but the service is what killed it. The gal they have working should not be a waitress...no interaction with any of the guests, it took a while to place our order, the food came out didnt check to see if we needed anything had to flag her down when we got our dishes and they were just kinda thrown at us like its expected that people should come there. But people go to lil personable places in downtown for the ambiance which is lacking and of course the service of mom and pop shop restaurants. This was our first and last time there because theres so many other places that we as customers dont have to go out of our way to try to get the server to talk and check on you...I think collectively between myself and my boyfriend we said thank you so many times it got tiring..woulda loved to hear that from the staff once..also you gotta ask for refills of course. Save your money or get togo if you must try them.

Well, My family and I went in this morning for breakfast, they were very busy. In the past we have really enjoyed going here. On this occasion it seems they only had two servers working the dining area. The servers were very apologetic about the wait. I ordered the garden omelet with fruit and sour dough toast. The lady asked if wanted salsa and I replied yes. The omelet came along with the other two guest meals but without the salsa, fruit or toast. The other guest in our party had nearly finished their meals as I was waiting for the salsa to eat my omelet. I felt I would have eaten mine before the salsa or toast would come. So I waited, it finally did come and the server was once again very apologetic. Well we ate and the cook who checked me out asked how everything was and I said it has been better in the past he said im sorry, I will give you a little discount. So that was a nice effort to make things right. The toast was very hard and difficult to eat. Well my issue is, now (nearly 6 hours later) I have had the worst stomach ache and heartburn since this eating my meal. I very rarely get heartburn so it is very unusual. I have been taking tums and pepto-bismol all day (with little relief) and have had severe stomach issues all day. Im not really sure what it was because the other two in my party seem to be fine. Something about that meal has not agreed with me at all. Needless to say I am disappointed. I dont know if corners were cut to account the for massive delay in the dining area but it will be really difficult for me to want to return. :(
Ramen 101 - Manteca
2162 Daniels St, Manteca, CA 95337, United States
My boyfriend wanted us to check out this place. Weve been waiting for a ramen spot to open near by, since we both usually enjoy ramen in other cities. It wouldnt be fair to compare it to other restaurants.Ramen 101 is located in a small food plaza but theres plenty of parking space. The restaurant itself is actually pretty small, so be mindful if youre arriving with a group or during rush hour. When we arrived, the tables were filled already but there wasnt a line. Luckily after we ordered and paid for our food, tables freed up for us.We both got the black garlic ramen, and grilled squid. One black garlic ramen was extra spicy and the other was just spicy. If youre into very spicy food, the spice level isnt crazy so extra spicy is pretty much mild. With that said, dont take my word for it lol because my extra spicy was mild but I didnt mind lol.Service was super quick, we probably only sat down for 5 minutes tops before food came out. It could have been sooner than 5 minutes but I wasnt tracking the time.Add ons are a must, we added an extra egg and seaweed paper. (We forgot to add the seaweed paper but the servers were kind enough to just give it to us) ?They have take-home menus but you can also view the menu from the screen above. The broth of the ramen was delicious, however it could use a little more umami or salt. My boyfriend thinks the broth should be thicker. However Im not complaining, I finished the whole bowl with a giant grin on my face. If you just take a little piece of the pork, a small twirl of noods, a piece of the soft boiled egg, and a piece of roasted garlic into your spoon, and wrap it with seaweed paper after soaking it in the broth.... ?? Im still drooling as I write this review lol.The grilled squid was delicious, very beautiful presentation. The sauce drizzled onto the squid reminds me of sweet chili sauce.I would have enjoyed a fountain soda, however the canned Hawaiian drinks were sufficient to quench our thirst.Im definitely coming back to try the rest of the menu.
Matsu Sushi
874 Lifestyle St, Manteca, CA 95337, United States
I wasnt very happy here. I went in and sat down at a table for two. I told the hosts that I was waiting for a friend. Less then five minutes later I was approached by another employee, they asked me if I was going to order something. Again I said I was waiting for a friend. Not long after that the manager approached me and said if your not going to order something that I was going to have to leave. Just then my friend walked in and sat down. We placed our order, the food came out and it wasnt good at all. I asked for some basic sushi condiments, they seemed to have a problem providing them to us. After that happened. I lost my appetite and asked, for a to-go box. While I waited I took one more bite just to make sure that the food had some kind of taste. I couldnt even swallow it. I had to spit it into the napkin. It was horrible. I will not ever go back to this sushi restaurant. I can not in good conscience recommend this place. It was a bad experience for me. I suggest you find another suitable sushi place to eat.
The Cajun Spot
283 W Louise Ave, Manteca, CA 95336, United States
The first time eating her with my husband, son, daughter in law and 2 granddaughters. We arrived just in time because a long line followed us. The young ladies at the registers were friendly a d helpful. The had to multi-task: taking orders, cleaning tables, delivering the orders to the tables and delivering pick up orders to the window.I ordered my bag with crab shrimp sausage and corn in a mild Trifecta sauce with rice. I like SPICY but mild had a spice to it and this bag was delicious. Yes it was pricey. Oh and dont forget to shake a d swirl your bag to get all the spices! We did have to wait a bit to have the table cleaned but there was a line so I did not have a problem and they got to it as soon as the line allowed. We waited for our and I cant imagine good cajun food not taking time to soak up seasoning.I read reviews and it seems this establishment must read them as well. I did not see a y sign of the negative comments posted in previous reviews. We were checked several times as well as the other patrons. I do not form opinions based on someone elses however the reviews prepared me to have my own gloves, bibs, etc. at our table. When our food was brought, they also brought gloves, plates, etc., all the items we needed. The Cajun Spot is definitely a great eating spot for my family!
Raleys
1280 Lathrop Rd, Manteca, CA 95336, United States
Edit: After having a conversation with my usual AMAZING, helpful employees and considering the years I've spent shopping here, wanted to give it another try. Hopefully Raley's steps it up with customer service protocols regarding new hires.————————————————————Ever since I moved here from Folsom 6 years ago, my husband and I frequently buy all of our groceries from here. We come here at LEAST 1-3 times a week. I've always loved coming here for the high quality produce/meat, vast variety and wonderful customer service. All in all, you get what you pay for and I absolutely do not mind spending more for higher standards in customer service.Last night was a completely different story.I came in after work to get our weekend groceries, everything was normal as per usual. The guy who rung me up was literally the rudest human I've dealt with at this store. EVER. The cashier, Troy, immediately gave me attitude from the moment he started ringing me up. No hello, just attitude. Then, he claimed he “couldn't hear me” yet literally STOPPED scanning my groceries to TALK to the bagger. Okay... I thought you couldn't hear? So unprofessional. Just literally stopped scanning to talk to the bagger about work BS. I get you don't want to be there TROY but just ring me up so I can leave. I have never, ever encountered any employees at Raley's who have ever been rude to me and like I said, I've been coming here religiously for YEARS. I'm so disappointed in the lack of customer service. If I wanted to deal with a human with poor customer service skills I would just shop at Save Mart, but given how bad last night was I would say it's on par with Wal Marts low standards.A few months ago we decided to try Hello Fresh and I loved the convenience but missed the fantastic customer service from Raley's. After my interaction last night, I will be sending my business back to Hello Fresh and Save Mart for other miscellaneous groceries. I refuse to support a business that hires incompetent humans like Troy. Do better Raley's.
