Noodle House Lao Kitchen
1006 N Court St, Visalia, CA 93291, United States
There is no place in Visalia to get better fried rice. One of these days I will find out your secrets Lao Noodle House!! One thing I love about this establishment is their sizes. They have a variety of sizes for every dish, from small to either extra-large or extra-extra-large (I cant quite remember)Let me tell you, an extra-large fried rice will last you a couple days, and its just as good reheated! You can also get amazing soup or pad Thai here, depending on whatever your craving. Dont forget to add on a Thai iced tea and some chicken and rice to make the perfect meal. The staff is so friendly and interactive- the owner and his son are really fun to chat with!Keep in mind they only accept cash payment. As of right now, its only take-out due to COVID, so theyll remind you on the phone that its cash only. Honestly not a big deal for me personally but it is a good thing to remember. For the three years Ive lived in the area, Lao Noodle House has been a regular visit for me, and thats not going to change any time soon!

Kaen Na Ramen & Sushi
3109 W Noble Ave, Visalia, CA 93277, United States
I got the spicy tofu teriyaki bowl and a vegetable roll togo, I asked the waitress if the bowl had veggies and she said yes broccoli and carrots. I get the food and get in the car, and I went to open the bag to check my order, and when I picked up the teriyaki bowl, the lid wasnt attahced so it dropped and spilled all over my shirt. I shoveled it back into the bowl best I could and drove home, I get home and go to eat the sushi and none of it was cut all the way through and it was rolled so loosely that everything fell apart, it was also extremely bland and was really not good without the help of soy sauce. Not to mention the vegetables she told me were in the bowl consisted of literally two tiny slices of carrot and two tiny stalks of broccoli. The teriyaki bowl was about 50 cents worth of food and they charged me $12 for it. I was excited about this place because it had good reviews but that was one of the worst takeout experiences Ive had in a long time, maybe they were just having an off night, but yeah that was pretty disappointing, the food had no heart whatsoever, just thrown together and overpriced. Also not a vegetarian friendly restaurant unless you want to only have two entrees to choose from.
Pho Wynn
2737 S Mooney Blvd, Visalia, CA 93277, United States
What was once a delicious rich broth when they first opened has become a watered-down soup. Today I ordered a plain pho with just noodles just because I was craving the taste of the broth. As I got the bowl of pho, the broth seemed very clear this time. As I tasted as if somebody got a little bullion cube and placed it in water and served me what they called pho broth.I told the girl at the counter that I would try to eat it after taking two bites, well I added sauces and it still wasnt good. Pretty much the whole soup was still there and that I didnt want it. As I walked out the owner came out asking me what was wrong and I told him that I used to work at a pho shop as well as that his broth was thinner than it was when he first opened. The next thing that came out of his mouth shocked me.He yells that if I cant afford his food to not come back to his shop. That infuriated me, I can pay for my meals but I refuse to pay for something that I took two bites of and did not eat.
B L Quality Meats
720 S Demaree St, Visalia, CA 93277, United States
I split the stars right down the middle because I love the meat counter at Quality Meats - its really great. I shop here often and love the selection of delicious cuts of meats for all of my BBQ needs. I would give them 10 stars if I could. They also have a window outside where you can order freshly prepared sandwiches, combos and even dinners and I would give them 2 stars. Dont get me wrong the food is great but the service is spotty.Just today, I walked up the cashier, ordered a combo and a drink paid it and waited patiently for my number to be called. When I was called, I went to the pickup window and was told that my combo didnt include a drink but she would include it anyhow (like she was doing me a favor) - I thought that it sounded like a YOU problem and not a ME problem. I mean, as a patron, I placed an order - how it was entered and how it was charged to me was on them. They need to train their staff on how to enter the order. For anyone who thinks I might have tried to get a free drink - I didnt order off of the posted menu and didnt know how much my plate would be, so when I paid $20, I just assumed they charged me for the drink. Now to top it off... the person giving me grief because they didnt enter my order correctly also didnt give me the correct drink. So thanks for that.Again, I highly recommend this place. I love the store and the food produced by the little restaurant. If the some of the employees could get past their own arrogance, the place could be phenomenal.
Thai Basil Restaurant
1423 E Noble Ave #3042, Visalia, CA 93292, United States
Highly recommended. Audry and I love Thai Basil because the dining area is comfortable, the service is consistently excellent, there is always a carry-out option, everything on the menu seems fresh. Flavors and spices seem well balanced. She and I have both lived or traveled across Asia and we agree that the food is as close to traditionally prepared as our American culture will allow. When we ask for hot, we get hot. Their spicy scale goes from 0 to 10. I like a 3. Once in a while, Ill go 6. She likes 0. When we ask for mild we get mild. Like any made-to-order place, we have had to get used to their basic food flavors, textures, consistencies and then order accordingly. Sometimes we only order two or three appetizers with their yummy sauces. Theyre all good. The chicken and shrimp options in all of the dishes that weve tried are generous. Their plain rice is great. Their fried rice is not like Chineese fried rice. Its much more moist and juicy. It depends upon what you like. She finds many of the veggie based dishes to be bland and gets them seasoned to order. I prefer curry. Yellow, green, red are all very good here. Taken alone, their curries are not hot. They are rich and bold. They reheat well at home and hold their flavor. The bill is fair for what you get. The two of us get hot tea, two appetizers, two entrees and a plate of fried rice (we take home leftovers) for about $25 each, out the door, with a 20% tip. Highly recommended. Be early. Standing room only 40 minutes after opening at 5pm.

I would rate this zero if I could. The burger was the worst burger Ive ever had. Id rather have food from the school cafeteria. First of all the bun didnt even rise all the way it looked as it a car had run over the buns, and on top of that the bun didnt have any good taste to it. Like just add some salt. The burger also didnt have any taste and the cheese was shriveled up and also didnt have any flavor probably due to the bacon. That bacon was the worst Ive ever had in my life. Usually on a bacon cheeseburger you want your bacon to be crispy or at least somewhat crispy but it was just the opposite. It was so chewy that some of the bacon tasted raw as if the bacon wasnt even cooked and the stench was rancid. It was so horrible that I had to run to the bathroom and spit it all out and I felt as it I was going to puke. Even starving kids in Africa would reject this food. As the talented Anthony Bourdain explains to us, Bad food is made without pride, by cooks who have no pride, and no love. Bad food is made by chefs who are indifferent, or who are trying to be everything to everybody, who are trying to please everyone. Bad food is fake food, food that shows fear and lack of confidence in peoples ability to discern or to make decisions about their lives.
Pho n Seafood

My freind and i went there today and the service was absolutely horrible!!!! the floors were covered in cheerios from previous people sitting there im assuming and the workers were very inattentive. we ordered our food which took a ridiculous amount of time to get to us and they still forgot half of our order while other people were being seated and getting their orders before us. we waited about 35 minutes which is ridiculous for two bowls of pho and some spring rolls. after we had got out order and finally got to eat, one of the workers cleaning and pushing the cart made me scoot my chair a few times just so she could get by.. another worker was serving other people their food and as she rounded the corner she splashed pho on me twice and didnt even bother to clean it up or say sorry. they never checked on us not one time to see if we needed anything and when i asked for a refill on my water she was rude and i had to wait another 5 minutes just for her to bring it back.. in my opinion they need to fire everyone there and get new people. older people who actually know what the hell they are doing and that can work in a professional and timely and sanitary manner.. but as far as the food goes, it was absolutely great.. i wouldnt say it was worth the wait and the horrible service, but it was really good.
Tokyo Garden Japanese Restaurant

Im not a fan of sushi. My 7 yr old daughter Yolie is a regular customer of this place and only has the nicest things to say about the atmosphere, the food, and the people. Joe the owner makes his rounds meeting and greeting and seems to enjoy pulling quarters from her ears. LOL. I have only been here a handful of times but she and her father visit this place upto 1-2 times monthly.I enjoyed a glass or 3 of the PLUM WINE from the bar area. We reserved a private room to celebrate her holy communion with a party total of 20 people. We had a relaxed time as all our needs were catered to by the staff . From 12 noon til 4:30 pm we wandered between the bar area &back out to our seats so we can taste samples of their most popular dishes. It was enjoyable to watch our chef prepare our food in our presence.I can honestly say that in the 5 years that we have been common here NEVER HAVE WE GOTTEN SICK FROM THE FOOD.I say this because there are many sushi bars and high priced steak houses that getting sick after eating there is hit & miss with.
