Bonchon Newark
39770 Cedar Blvd, Newark, CA 94560, United States
Ordered 30 wings (only) through DoorDash. Received wings and drumsticks combo (even the receipt shows it is a combo). When I called the restaurant, I was amazed by the responses.1. First of all, the girl at the restaurant asked me are you sure because our wings have the small drum part. Are you trying to insult a customer that she cant tell a whole wing from a drumstick?2. Then, as the conversation went on, she said I remember packing your order, I gave you 30 wings. When I told her hello, even your receipt said combo and I have all these unwanted drumsticks in front of me; then her answer was DoorDash messed up the order. Hello again, you think the poor DoorDash driver can magically found 15 drumsticks to mess up the order?3. Finally, she told me you have to contact DoorDash because technically you are their customer not ours. Hello again!Enjoy the pictures. Bonchon, you may be amazed by how yourself sounded! $45 got me a good laugh and unwanted drumsticks! Hope you get something out of it too.

I ate here on numerous occasions, but due to my recent experience, I will not be bringing myself & my family here again. The previous times that Ive eaten here (around 5-6), I had an overall good experience. The food was great, the service was good, and it was just a good place for my family to dine in and enjoy the time overall. However, on my most recent visit (the 11th), my wife and I decided to eat here to celebrate our son, turning 6 months. We went during a weekday in the evening, so it was pretty busy but not overwhelmingly busy.We ordered a set of appetizers and our main dishes and topped it off with boba that they have.We were not asked a single time on how we were doing and if we needed anything. We had to wait for the server to be completely free just to get her attention in order to get additional napkins. On top of that, the server only gave a single piece of a napkin, which absolutely felt like an insult due to their small size and the apparent cost cutting measures they were doing. For the appetizers, my wife and I ordered their Pot Stickers and Walnut Prawns.Prawns were good, well sized, evenly glazed, and topped with a good amount of walnut. It was crispy and very flavorful. The pot stickers were bland, no crisp to them whatsoever, and the filling was average at best. Overall, it was just very disappointing, to say the least.Onto the main entree, I ordered a rice plate with salmon and beef. Just like the pot stickers, it felt very bland, felt rushed, and for the extra beef that I added while ordering, it didnt feel justifable for what I have received to what was being charged. Ive eaten here numerous times and felt unsatisfied with my recent visit. The boba was spot on as always, no complaints, the brown sugar boba I had ordered was very flavorful, boba was soft and chewy, and had a creamy feel to it. The drink was good, to where I placed another order for it mid-meal. (10-15 mins prior to leaving)Towards the end is where it was very disappointing. I attempted to pay online via their website as I typically did the previous times I have been here. Ive tipped 15% each time I have been here, HOWEVER, this time, I have found out that with my recent visit, if you are DINING in, you are OBLIGED to pay a 15% tip that was not posted anywhere within the restaurant. Shoot, it wont even let you complete your payment online without tipping a minimum of 15%. Theres an option to put a custom amount, which was what I originally intended to do, but even with that, you must call the server over in order to complete your payment. So then, I decided to pay up at front. Payment went smoothly, with no issues until where she printed the receipt for me to sign. As soon as she handed it over, she pointed with the pen and reminded me to leave a tip. I already had a negative experience and kept my mouth shut as I told my wife that well just dine another time to see if our experience can justify our negative one, but when I was reminded to leave a tip, it was that cherry on top that prompted me to leave no tip. So when it came to the tip portion of the receipt, I marked it with a line signaling that I was not tipping for the experience that my family and I received. As I was done, I went to the bathroom to freshen up, reconnected with my family, and were heading over to the exit to carry on with our day. I told my wife to wait out at the front for the boba that I have ordered Mid-Meal that we havent received yet as I intended to bring our son to the car to get settled and what not to leave the area. Before I could walk out, after having had fully paid and what not, the OWNER stopped to confront me with the receipt I had signed earlier prompting me to leave a tip saying it was mandatory for ALL dine in guests regardless of their party size. I ALWAYS tip when I receive decent service and very rarely not. But when I chose not to tip for not getting decent service, I stood firm on it as Ive explained to the owner. In summary, I wouldnt recommend coming here unless you dont value your money.
Jade Palace Restaurant
36601 Newark Blvd #64, Newark, CA 94560, United States
Stopped by here on a craving for some soup. I was greeted right away, by Im guessing the owner who was very nice. Asking me how my day was & how he could help me. I got an order of the war wonton soup & fried wontons. It came out to be $14 for the entire order, I thought that was really good considering the soup was huge and there were at least 15 large fried wontons. The soup was delicious and not skimpy either, there was a ton of meat, shrimp & wontons. The fried wontons w ere perfect and came with a huge side of sauce. He was even packed me a tea bag, soy sauce & fortune cookies without me even asking. I would go here again.
Tramys Restaurant
5729 Jarvis Ave, Newark, CA 94560, United States
The large lotus root salad appetizer was a standout with its freshness and unique flavor profile. The crunchy lotus root was delightful, providing an interesting texture and flavor that set the tone for the meal. Although the generous portion of celery slightly overpowered the subtle lotus taste, it still made for an enjoyable start to our meal. The restaurants attention to customer satisfaction was particularly impressive. Upon expressing my thoughts about the celery to our attentive server, they graciously prepared a take-away version of the lotus root salad, minus the celery. This gesture allowed me to truly appreciate the essence of the lotus root and its unique flavor - a touch I found to be both considerate and responsive. The filet mignon shaking beef was another highlight. While it diverged a bit from traditional preparations due to the inclusion of gravy, this twist only added to its appeal. The tender, flavorful beef paired wonderfully with the tomato rice, offering a comforting and hearty main course that left us fully satisfied.Overall, our visit to Tramys was an unforgettable experience that balanced traditional cuisine with innovative twists. I look forward to my next meal at this delightful restaurant and highly recommend it to anyone seeking a fresh and satisfying culinary experience.Rating: 4/5
Papaya Thai Restaurant
6066 Mowry Ave, Newark, CA 94560, United States
Absolutely my favorite Thai food restaurant! Never had a dish we didnt like. Must haves are the Basil fried Rice, Basil Eggplant, Tom Yum Soup, Pad Thai and of course Mango Sticky Rice for dessert! They are very accommodating when it comes to your level of spicy tolerance. You can always go no spice and add chili sauce at the table.I will say this spot is popular and can get extremely busy, so if you plan to go for dinner or on the weekend. Plan to take your time and not be in a rush. They get a lot of to go orders while serving in-house guests so it can take time to get all your food. However, its always worth the wait. Super friendly owners, fresh, quality ingredients and extensive options on the menu!
Special Noodle
6180 Jarvis Ave Ste U, Newark, CA 94560, United States
I feel like ive seen a lot ads for this spot - in which the food looks bomb! my friends and i did family style and we ended up ordering:Soup Pan Fried Pork Buns [x6] ($12.50)Xiao Long Bao (Pork) [x6] ($11.99)Spicy Beef Noodle Soup ($15.99) - with thick noodlesPork Dan Dan Noddles [Spicy And Numbing] ($14.99) - with thick noodlesid say that these dishes are staple items to try when yall stop by and id say that thick noodles really add to the flavors and just the overall texture of the meal! and the flavors are just soooo fire. when i tried the two noodle dishes i didnt really taste the spiciness but my friend who has a lower tolerance for spice did taste it more - so it might be good to reach out to the staff to see if spiciness can be adjusted!its also a spot in which its pretty easy to manage as you order by scanning the QR code and pay through the website too. however, the staff members are readily available and super attentive. 10/10 would recommend for yall to check out this spot if yall are in the area!ambiance is pretty casual and sorry the spicy beef noodle and pork dan dan noodles are not pictured as i was too hungry AHAHAH
Chase Suite Hotel Newark Fremont
39150 Cedar Blvd, Newark, CA 94560, United States
I was placed at the hotel by the training school that I was attending for a certification course. For an extended stay the location is great since you have many choices for eating out within walking distance. However the hotel has much to be desired. The rooms are outdated, the carpets are dirty and worn out. The internet is almost unusable. And the breakfast is very blend but that can be avoided since you have a kitchen in your suite. But the biggest problems with the hotel are related to its sanitary conditions. Another reviewer reported that he ended up with foot fungus after staying in the hotel. Thankfully I didnt get that but during my stay i discovered that the room was infested with bed bugs. Once I figured this out, I went to the front desk and requested a new room. To my disbelieve they told me that I needed to stay in that room another night because all the rooms were occupied. I couldnt believe it and I considered calling the health department. But finally I decided to sleep on the couch that night because I needed to study for my test the following morning instead of fighting with the hotel. The next day they did move me to another room and I had them clean all my cloths. The upkeep and maintenance of the suites is extremely poor. I even had a ripped towel placed in my room. It's a small annoyance but it shows what level they operate at. If they cant prevent ripped towels from being placed in the rooms, how will they prevent other things like bed bugs or foot fungus?I will not stay at this hotel again if I choose to return to the same school for more training. But I do have to say that most of the staff at the hotel is pleasant to deal with.
Cousin Cafe
39193 Cedar Blvd, Newark, CA 94560, United States
I have been eating tea restaurants for 20 years. I have been patronizing them since I was in high school until now. I have been living in Fremont. My cousin is like a cafeteria to me. I am the first choice when I feel uncomfortable and too lazy to cook. But today I am really angry. The food here has always been OK, but what happened to the service? I didnt ask them to be professional, warm and thoughtful. After all, I was eating food, but I wasnt here to get angry! What I wanted to order today was fish soup noodles and Gillette fish steak. They only had fish soup noodles and pork chop on the menu. I ordered it before and found that the pork chop was really not delicious. Then I asked if I could switch to fish. Is it okay to grill it? Last time I was given a Gillette fish steak with rice noodles. I was very happy. Today I wanted to order the same thing and said no. The original words were We have never ordered it this way. I said I did order it that way. No. When I finished speaking, the waitress looked disgusted, Dont tell me that you ordered it, its impossible that you would never order it like this. You can say that we really cant do this. Just because you ordered it this way last time doesnt mean you can order it this way in the future. Then I can accept it. After all, the fish will be more expensive. If thats the case, you can also say Ill pay more, right? There is no need to look down on me and question me as a liar. I remember which waiter helped me order last time. The point is not whether I can order it. I can understand that every store has its own policy, but why should I have such an attitude? Dont tell me..., I just want to ask you. If I dont tell you, who will I tell you? I cant even communicate with others normally, let alone have any service attitude. To the owner of Cousin Tea Restaurant: The food in your restaurant is delicious, but please improve the working attitude of the employees in the restaurant. Let's just watch TV and chat at work. Why can't you even talk well? This complaint is not about me today. I didn't get this rice noodle with fish steak, but it's because your employee (middle-aged, short-haired, wearing glasses, quite thin) can't behave normally (I didn't ask him to treat me well, it's just basic human communication) with the guests. communicate
Good Neighbor Restaurant
35122 Newark Blvd, Newark, CA 94560, United States
I came from Shanghai to visit a friend. The credit card was issued in China and had Visa payment function. It could be used in any restaurant in the United States. I just stopped by the laundromat for a meal. When I checked out, the clerk refused my credit card and said there would be an additional fee.I asked how much extra money would be charged, and the other party changed his mind and said that the boss said that only American credit cards would be accepted. He said in an arrogant and rude manner that Chinese cards might not accept the payment, but Chinese cards just wouldnt accept it. I reiterated that there is a Visa payment mark on it, and it can also be checked by ID. The other party still refused unreasonably. The restaurant never posted a notice refusing to accept credit cards issued in China, nor did it inform them before dining. Discriminatory treatment when dining in restaurants with compatriots. It is recommended that you don't come here if you don't have a local US bank card.I came from Shanghai to visit a friend. My credit card was issued by China and had Visa payment function. I could use it in any restaurant in worldwide. But the clerk refused to accept my credit card, saying that there would be an additional fee .I asked how much the extra fee would be, and she went to ask someone else then changed her words and said that the boss said that only American credit cards would be accepted. She said arrogantly that Chinese cards would not be accepted, because they might not get paid for it. It's nonsense. I reiterated that there was a Visa payment mark on it, could also check my ID. They still refused unreasonably. The restaurant never posted a notice or informed us before eating. It's offensive and cause us much inconvenience.
Little Sichuan Restaurant
35233 Newark Blvd, Newark, CA 94560, United States
The food here is excellent authentic Sichuan style cuisine. I really like their dishes such as their cold beef and tripe (fuqi feipian, 夫妻肺片 ), cold chicken noodles, and spicy beef (SHUI ZHU NIU ROU, 水煮牛肉). My wife and in-laws really like how the dishes tastes. They really wonder how this place can get the flavors so good. However, Im disappointed with the service especially the last time I went to dine in. First, my table was not provided with bowls to eat rice with. The waiter only brought food to the table then disappeared into the kitchen. They never checked up on us while we were eating. I also saw that there were only plates stacked with napkins in between on the table thats against the wall. I didnt see any bowls otherwise, I would have helped myself to them. Later, when two groups of non-Chinese customers came in, the staff became extra friendly to them and turned on the AC for them. Earlier, people at my table were eating rice off plates awkwardly and I was sweating the whole time I was eating since it was quite warm inside. When I came time to pay, my wife had to flag down someone. The cashier wouldnt accept less than 15% tip calculated from after tax total bill. Restaurants should not mandate minimum tipping amount. Tipping should be at customers discretion. I understand that there is a labor shortage during the pandemic, but the restaurant could have increased prices instead. My wife relented and paid the requested tip amount anyways so we wont have a commotion with the restaurant staff. In the future, we will only order takeout.
