Bonchon North Stockton
7840 West Ln Suite E-3, Stockton, CA 95210, United States
Update: Tuesday, August 15, 2023 PMIt's sad…this place has a lot of potential, but I've had issues the majority of the time. I've been served soggy chicken that was not fresh that I had to send back. Tonight I specified that my order be cooked fresh with extra sauce. The top few pieces of chicken did seem to be fresh but underneath, the drums were dried out and as hard as rocks! When I am paying good money, yes this stuff is expensive, I expect my dinner to be hot and fresh and cooked to order. Is that too much to ask?I don't know whether the employees don't care or whether the owner doesn't care. I don't know where the problem is from but I wish them luck. When I left around 7:30 PM there was not a soul in the restaurant! I wonder how long they're going to be a business?Kudos to the wait staff. They took good care of me!————————Update: 1/3/22No Bueno! No consistency here. Maybe it depends on who's cooking.Last time was good. The chicken was hot, fresh and crunchy. This time, even though I asked for my chicken to be hot and fresh, it was barely warm and certainly not crunchy! There was a language barrier between me and my server. I asked for my chicken to be hot and fresh and she thought I meant spicy. No… I said hot and fresh. I had to repeat it several times. The soup was OK.The floors under table number 22 are sticky as hell. I had to rinse the bottom of my shoes off when I got home. I had a hard time finding a place to put my feet under the table so they didn't stick to the floor. What's wrong with this restaurant? No ice tea! What country am I living in?The owner of this restaurant should do more hands-on management so he knows what's going on. They did not have much business tonight.I've given this restaurant several chances. A few times were good but most the time not so good. No more chances! Bye-bye————————Chicken is good. Expensive prices. The soup was OK. Good service

Sakura - Japanese groceries & gifts
4343 Pacific Ave Suite A4, Stockton, CA 95207, United States
Sakura is the only Japanese store in Stockton and Ive been coming here for many years since I was in high school. So many imported products from Japan and one of the things I loved the most is the variety of Asian snacks. I like trying different snacks and by far, the Calbee brand snack is my favorite! They have a variety of food products, tableware, kitchen items, and even fresh fish like Salmon. They used to sell freshly made California Roll or sushi thats packaged and placed near the cash register. Due to COVID, they no longer have fresh sushi for sale and was a bit sad about it. But overall, that staff are always super nice and helpful to customers if they needed assistance. So customers are required to wear masks prior to entering the store and they constantly keep everything sanitized and clean including the pens used to sign for the purchase if you use a credit card. I feel that Sakuras staff did a great job and I will continue to come back to the store for more snacks or drinks.

Izakaya Masa
928 Fort Stockton Dr, San Diego, CA 92103, United States
Just great. The vibe, the food, & the service was perfect. - 1st experience.. Left a five star after this.2nd experience - Wasnt very busy, the place was half empty, yet had a 20 minute wait to be seated. Just a few minutes before our listed name, which we posted at 11:17pm, was called, a pushy bunch of Asian kids and their Brazilian friend showed up and acted like they were somebody and insisted on being sat. Watching this started to make my blood boil. The Asian kid who thought he was tough had a cigarette hanging out of his mouth and then lit it while standing in the entrance doorway which is 7 or 8 feet, at most, to some of the tables. This place is already small so that made it worse. My meal was delicious, the beer was not the coldest however, and my lady who loves Japanese culture and food said the beef in her dish was overcooked and she likes her meat well done. Once our rushed experience was over, even though they werent half full at that point and they close at 1am, the group of four kids were at the host stand which we were sitting behind, attempting to get their bill lowered, speaking in Japanese which my lady understands, telling the host that they could not afford the check of the items that they ordered, all the while the smoker lit up another cigarette standing at the door, which was 7 or 8 feet from our table which is directly behind the host stand. So, with all this in mind, I am lowering my 5 star review to a 2 star review. Their tip also dropped from 20 percent to 15 percent to 12.5 percent and they were a few seconds away from just a 10% tip.Run your business properly. Know the laws (no cigarettes in food based establishments) and Dont expect USA citizens to put up with your bad guests ignorance and B.S.This makes us sad that we cant even experience mediocrity. Does not make sense to us.

Spice it up
8626 N Lower Sacramento Rd, Stockton, CA 95210, United States
I always judge a Thai restaurant by its Green Curry with pork.Flavors of coconut milk, basil and curry was well balanced.I like cilantro with mine and extra chili with mine. Provided on the side when asked for with a smile. Nutty flavor and vegetables where well balanced.Papaya salad Lao style another another reference dish. Good balance of lime and fish sauce with chili. Cabbage on the side was good but, only gripe would of liked it julienned thinner. We also ordered basil beef.Basil, beef and vegetables well complicated each other. The sauce was just a bit sweet.Dont know if it was a result of the stir fried bell peppers. Also had a slight smokey flavor. (Chow) in Chinese terms.JudgementValue: great good amount of food.Flavor: better than expected.Service: really good, able to hold a conversation without server hovering over you. Later, at end of the meal the chef or owner came out and greeted us to ask our option of dishesReally nice place to eat, over all.I would rate it a 4.7 resulting a 5 restaurant.Went to another place in town, food was mediocre except one one item. Food was over priced.Hard to keep a conversation, for first date ok but for conversation related to business negative.

SAIGON OI RESTAURANT
6835 Stockton Blvd, Sacramento, CA 95823, United States
Saigon Oi is super busy and there is always a wait but it is worth it. The food comes out super quick once ordered and the employees clear tables quickly. I tried the banh canh cua (crab udon) and it was one of the best Ive tried. It comes with quail egg, straw mushrooms, real crab meat, fish cake, shrimp balls, and crispy shallots. The soup was the perfect consistency, and brought back memories of eating banh canh in Saigon in my childhood. The Banh Mi is nicely toasty, soft but perfect texture for dipping into the skillet. The meatball was delicious, as for the pate and beef cubes floating in the savory butter. The two fried eggs makes it the perfect brunch/breakfast meal. I also liked the decoration of the restaurant -- the little touches of Vietnamese style tiles on the floor, the picture of Cho Ben Thanh, the nice accent lights. Lastly, got a coconut coffee (ca phe dua) and it was beautiful! Super creamy, like a slushy, comes with the iconic strong taste of Vietnamese coffee, yet creamy from the coconut cream and not too sweet. Highly reccomended item as well.Id really like to come back and try their banh khot, because it looks delicious. But honestly the portions are good so will definitely have leftovers. I think they do less common Vietnamese food well, and I see why there is always a line. Service is friendly and attentive. Pay in front after meal is done. All around 5/5.

Mamas On Washington Square
1701 Stockton St, San Francisco, CA 94133, United States
Would give zero stars if possible as we were unable to dine at this establishment. My brother and I planned on having Fathers Day Brunch together at Mamas On Washington Square. His knee was injured so I dropped him off while I went to look for parking. I got a disturbing call from my brother as he was being harassed by one of the employees. This man, MIKE, approached my brother, grabbed his airpod case and backpack - his personal belongings- and proceeded to move the table that my brother was sitting at, insisting that he needed to give the table to other people. You have to understand that every single diner at this restaurant was either White or Asian, so for my brother, an African American to be denied the service, common decency, and respect that one would expect from an establishment like this is heinous and disturbing. Even more disappointingly, it turns out that Mike is the MANAGER AT MAMAS. When confronted, Mike apologized, saying that he had been awake since 3 am. I have worked in the restaurant and service industry for 10 years off and on and never in my life have I seen a manager, or anyone, think it is okay to touch a patrons belongings and forcefully take a table out from under them to give it to other diners.Mike, it does not matter what time you woke up, it is 2024, you are the manager of a (somewhat) reputable restaurant. I hope you take this opportunity to reflect on your biases and make the conscious decision to be better in this world. **Dont make excuses for yourself ** Commit to understanding exactly what part of you thinks that it is okay value some customers over others based on skin tone or appearance. You offered us a free meal but us staying there, sitting there, eating your food, would only serve to make you feel better about your shortcomings. The humiliation of you causing a scene should not be ours to carry. I hope you are embarrassed because it is you who made a fool out of yourself. To the owners of Mamas, take a look at who you have running your operation.

Sunshine Hawaiian BBQ

I had been wanting and craving to visit this place for sometime now, especially after they re-opened months ago. Typically, I live in the neighborhood, and kept putting it off until January 24th. I guess it was time, and it finally happened. My craving was still there, and I suggested it to my friend who I was with, who was also hungry that we look at their menu before ordering by phone for pick-up. I pulled-up the menu on Google Maps, and on their website, and I found it wasn't giving me enough information, or, missing some information about what exactly is included in the Combo dishes, and the photos didn't help either. Nonetheless, anticipating a great choice and food, I called to ask questions before ordering to go. The male who answered (I forget his name) was helpful in his answers. We ordered 2 Chicken Teriyaki Combos with fountain drinks, and picked it up in 20 minutes. I was greeted by the same male who answered the phone, and the excellent service continued. He continued to be helpful with providing a hassle-free pay transaction, and courteously made sure that I was aware of the help-yourself condiments, and I left with delicious smelling Combos in-hand with his friendly goodbye. The food was delicious, and service was excellent. I will be back any day now. I recommend this. Thanks

Pegasus Bakery & Caf
6825 Stockton Blvd # 265, Sacramento, CA 95823, United States
I pre-ordered a Pandan cake with Durian filling with “Happy Thanksgiving” written on top. I let the bakery decide on the decorations. What I got was both one of the ugliest decorated cakes that did not even give off the feeling of the Thanksgiving holiday and worst tasting Durian. The decoration did not give me the feeling that they can take on a wedding cake. My purpose was to try their cakes and see if they are a good fit to do my wedding cake. There is no creativity and passion for this type of cake. Pandan and durian are not common cakes these days after many Viet bakeries closed. Original Durian cake is from San Jose. The real Pandan and Durian cake is both delicious and smells amazing. The Pandan sponge cake was the only part that saved this cake but it was not worth the price $52 for 6” cake when there is a comparable competitor in Elk Grove. This is the only bakery so far that I found to make Pandan cake in the area. The Durian filling is most disappointing. It tasted like frozen durian from a box and not taken fresh from the fruit. There were hard unripe pieces of durian instead of the soft flesh. The real durian cake takes the soft flesh and mixes it with fresh whip cream that is piped onto the sponge cake. They just laid the durian pieces in the cake and it made the cake soggy and the taste was awful. Real Durian cake will also take the soft flesh and whip cream and spread it on the outside. Each time I came there were little to no customers and not much to buy. The front counter ladies were not very pleasant to talk with and I felt I was rushed out before I can ask more about their services. Also they won't tell me who is the baker so I can discuss other specialty orders. I have no confidence in this bakery that they can pull off specialty cake orders.
