Panera Bread
7901 Greenback Ln, Citrus Heights, CA 95610, United States
This Panera has gone from barely passible to downright worthless. My wife wanted soup and salad so I bit the bullet and gave in. We showed up a little after 1pm on a Monday. The place was packed with people waiting for take out. We both ordered Pick Twos and two coffees. She wanted a Green Goddess Cobb Salad with Chicken and some Creamy Tomato Soup. I ordered the Chipotle Chicken Avocado Melt & Cream of Chicken & Wild Rice. They gave me a pager. I go to get the coffee and find the dark roast was empty and the light roast was barely warm (The light roast was cool enough that the added sugar didnt dissolve). I grabbed some lukewarm light roast, let the person behind the counter that they needed coffee and grabbed our seat to wait for the pager to go off. 20 minutes later they hadnt paged us still hadnt filled the coffee but the lobby and the order pick up area is still packed so we wait a little longer. Its now 1:45pm and I get up to check the coffee and its finally been filled up so I refresh our coffee and on my way back to our table I hear a young lady call my wifes name so I walk over to double check and its our order that they never paged us to pick up (I was holding the pager). Needless to say Im a little hot so I asked how long the food had been waiting on the warmer. The woman said it was just placed up there but the cheese on the Melt was solid again so I doubt it just got up there. My wife and I taste the soup and its barely warm so, no it was not just put up on the warmer. We went up to request a refund from the manager and lo and behold, the person who lied to me about the food just being made was the manager.Id give 0 ⭐s if I could but they do make good Baguettes and Scones .
Sourdough & Co. Citrus Heights
5437 Sunrise Blvd, Citrus Heights, CA 95610, United States
Not a good first experience. I went to the Elk Grove location and loved it! I thought my boyfriend might like to try it out while we were in Citrus Heights. After paying $30 for two sandwiches with drinks and soup, we discover their machine is not making ice and they were also out of the soda we wanted. The guy at the register suggested we go next door to Habit Burger to get ice from their machine...really??? I pay $30 for my meal and now Im tasked with running to another restaurant for ice??? We then go to find a table and not a clean table in the place and floors were also littered with lettuce and crumbs. We got our money back and went somewhere else.
Noodles and Company
6123 Sunrise Blvd, Citrus Heights, CA 95610, United States
Noodles and Company has become a go to for my daughter since she went plant based last year. I hadnt tried them much because I dont eat a lot of pasta often. I have tried a couple of dishes now but, this 3rd time around was pretty tasty and I had no complaints. I like and prefer thin noodles so my daughter pointed out a dish on the menu that I had overlooked so I gave it a try. She got her usual cavatoppi noodles I think with a pesto cream sauce. I tried the new Japanese Pan noodles and added chicken. It was good, reasonably priced and I would order it again.. ? Our one takeaway is the customer service wasnt that great, quoting wrong pricing to my daughter when shes a regular at another location and usually gets the same thing and also barely filling her bowl when she got a size up. Her bowl had the same amount of foods mine was a small and she paid extra for medium size that wasnt full. My food was fine. The cashier wasnt very friendly and we had to keep going to ask for items that ate usually offered or given with the meal..

Ordered for our second time and couldnt be happier. It is awesome to get a delicious healthier pizza where you can recycle the entire pizza box because theres no grease. I could eat the Marguerita pizza with extra sauce every day. So glad to have this restaurant in Citrus Heights.Fisrt order...Could hardly wait for this place to open, but after giving a week for them to work out the kinks that every new restaurant has, I called tonight to place an order and got voicemail. Disappointed, we resigned ourselves to eating leftover homemade minestrone soup, but then, to my surprise, a nice young man called me back! We placed an order for the rosemary garlic bread and pepperoni pizza and were given a spectacularly short 10 minute wait which was met with time to spare.I am very pleased to say that this is arguably the best pizza in Citrus Heights and even as non-believers, we believe we will happily be regular patrons of this little oasis in our food desert.
Sushi Star
7777 Sunrise Blvd #2000, Citrus Heights, CA 95610, United States
Awesome family ran sushi restaurant! We love ordering off their specials menu, the ankimo, lobster roll, and fresh oysters (pictured) are always great. Other specials currently include Santa Barbara uni, yakisoba, and steak, lobster, and scallop hibachi for around $22.I recommend the hamachi kama (pictured) appetizer, around $15 for 2 pieces which is a great deal. The skin is crispy, and the fish is meaty and moist. We always order it, sometimes Togo and it reheats great in an air fryer. Our favorite rolls are the Sushi Star, Fire Star, Salmon Blossom, and if you like crab, their Snow crab roll is SO GOOD. The snow crab roll (pictured, missing a piece because its just so good...) isnt too fancy but I think they use real crab, and the taste is just so so clean, I love the texture, and its 10x better than any Krab roll.Hamachi sashimi and otoro sashimi (pictured) are always on point. The sushi chef does a great job with presentation and cuts. You can call ahead to reserve omakase. The service is always great, but not the fastest depending on how busy it is. Everything has always been worth the wait and I recommend it regardless! Again, family ran and you can tell they put a lot of effort into the food and art of sushi! So glad to have a staple sushi restaurant in citrus heights!Edited to add review of omakase experience!!! October 2022Splurged on their omakase for our anniversary. $150/pp for about 12 courses, call a few days ahead to reserve. The chef did call after I made my reservation to confirm any allergies and preferences, of which we had none. Everything was AMAZING and really showcased the chefs skills and artistry. Highly recommended for something new and unique, and come hungry! Portions were very generous.Courses included miso soup, ankimo with scallops, oyster shooters with uni and ikura, chawanmushi with uni, amaebi, and ikura, assorted sashimi in a beautiful ice sculpture, more sashimi with the fish remains fried for display (this was so beautiful yall), geoduck sashimi, Kobe beef tataki (sooooo savory and delicious), broiled fish, assorted nigiri, deluxe hand rolls with toro, uni, crab, and ikura, and mochi served in an ice bowl topped with spun sugar threads.Im still drooling as I look over these photos. This was not a cheap meal, but Im so thrilled to have an authentic and delicious omakase option without having to trek downtown or to the city!
Amore Eats

Great food! I came here on a recommendation and we were blown away by how good it was. Seriously, I can't stress this enough, the food is so so good.We ordered the two for $50 deal. It came with an appetizer, two entrees, and dessert. The price matched the value - not too expensive and neither not too much food for the price. We started with the baked Brie appetizer. It's a nice, warm wheel of Brie topped with marinated cherry tomatoes, pickled onions, and surrounded with toasted bread slices. An appetizer done right and one that you don't see around on menus not nearly enough. The first entree we got was the creamy gnocchi soup. Soup as an entree you say? This was the BEST SOUP I'VE EVER HAD. No joke. Maybe because it was halfway between soup and pasta, but it had this hot garlic sauce that was absolutely phenomenal. Seriously, I could drink this sauce. Back to the soup, it had plenty of gnocchi in a great creamy sauce with just enough kick to it. Really really good.Second entree was the Americana pizza. Made of white sauce, roasted chicken, bacon, mozzarella, red onion, and chili oil, it was really good! That pizza dough was super good, he's got a good recipe here. This went well with the previously mentioned soup.Dessert we choose the tiramisu. We got such a great, nice, large serving of it! Like seriously basically a pie tin of tiramisu. The mascarpone cheese was nice and pronounced, the whole thing was good! If I were to give it any knock, it would be that there was a ton of cinnamon on top. I love me some cinnamon but it was on the verge of overpowering.Really looking forward to eating here again, watching their menu expand and enjoying all their good food!

Came to dine at this restaurant with the family because we had heard the food was good, well we walked in and were greeted by a darker latin male who seemed to hate his job. The restaurant wasnt busy yet it took him almost 15 minutes to ask if we wanted anything to drink, he then took our orders in random order and very rudely asked what we wanted. We were a table of 10 and were given one boat of chips and one ramakin of salsa, then when I asked for more, he did everything else he wanted before actually bringing another boat of chips 15 minutes later. When we asked for more napkins because the stack of 5 had ran out, he walked away as if he wasnt listening. Needless to say for our first experience, we were not impressed by any measure. Had it not been for the horrible service and manners of that not so gentlemen we would have came again.
Folsom Palace

I’ve tried pretty much every Chinese restaurant in Citrus Heights and this is by far the best Chinese in the area. The chow mein has that wok smoky flavor with crunchy sprouts and just the right chewy noodles. The salt and pepper shrimp is so crispy and seasoned perfectly. The soups are all good esp the sizzling rice soup which has that deep savory Chinese chicken broth. The Hong Kong thin noodles has that gooey sauce that meshes so well with the crispy noodles and bokchoy. The white sauce they use in the dishes is that classic Chinese American sauce. All in all it’s the perfect Chinese American place that you remember. Oh and the staff is amazing and it’s a semi-open kitchen so you hear all the clanging of the woks and the sizzle which just adds to the atmosphere without being intrusive.

I have been her twice. It is very good restaurant, clean, super friendly staff and the food is great. I had the pozole soup and it was the perfect meal for a cold and rainy day. Give this restaurant a try. I am sure you will return, just as I did.
