El Borrego Restaurant Caterer, Outdoor Venue, ...
4280 El Cajon Blvd, San Diego, CA 92105, United States
I celebrated my birthday with 20 friends on the patio of El Borrego today and it was such a wonderful experience! Im so grateful to Rodnia, the owner, and her staff, for being so attentive and handling it all so well. They sectioned off half of the outdoor patio and set it up with beautiful decor, as well as umbrellas for shade and a big fan as it was 80 degrees out. At the bar, guests could choose from house made Horchata, Agua de Jamaica, beer and Sangria. I heard so many compliments about the venue and especially on the food! We served a self-serve buffet of Cochinita Pibil and Lamb Barbacoa with tortillas, guacamole and garnishes, plus quesadillas made with squash blossoms and rajas that they brought out hot as they were ready. The whole afternoon felt easy and relaxed and I got to enjoy spending time with friends rather than being stressed about hosting. The mellow music they played set a nice atmosphere for a Sunday afternoon. This restaurant is such a neighborhood gem! If youre looking for a space to accommodate a crowd and excellent food and service, I highly recommend El Borrego!
Panera Bread
733 Fletcher Pkwy, El Cajon, CA 92021, United States
I used to eat Panera a couple times a week or more for lunch when I was working. The Vermont white cheddar cheese macaroni was to die for. However now it is really not a great experience eating here. First of all I pulled up guidance of the line there was only two cars ahead of us yet we waited at least a total amount of time of 30 minutes in the Drive-Thru at least and to top it off they were out of macaroni and cheese which is absolutely absurd me since its one of their main dishes they sell. But we literally waited for our food for quite an extended amount of time sitting in the Drive-Thru as staff learn how to make a drink or Im not sure what they were doing exactly but it appeared that they were all watching the Smoothie be made. We only ordered two things macaroni and cheese and two drinks. Thats August 15 minutes from the time we got to the window until we got our food previous to that we already waited for the one one car in front of us to get their food and we waited approximately 15 to 20 minutes for that. The people working in there were not an apologetic the food was actually cold when we got home and its just a really disappointing experience. Not only that but when they said they were out of the regular macaroni and cheese they said that they have the cheddar and brought the macaroni and cheese so he agreed to go ahead and get that instead which by the way it was awful. I will never ever order that again ever. But some accommodation should have made for the long wait time which was absolutely atrocious in my opinion. But realistically I mean Im going to be calling to get my money back on the food because not only was it not good at all but it was cold. So Im not quite sure what the staff was doing the entire time we were waiting for this extended period of time in the Drive-Thru. Not to mention for two macaronis and two drinks it was $42 which is absolutely ridiculous too. This place is really gone backwards with their customer service and their food quality again I used to love eating here I would hear two or more times a week if I was able to and now I dont even want to eat here at all its not good staff is slow and non-apologetic about things that should not occur like 30 minute plus wait times in the Drive-Thru with only two vehicles are there and the inside of the store is empty. Thats just my suggestion Im going to call when I have a chance and try to get a refund on my food or at least get a replaced another day cuz it was definitely not good and not hot. I suggest you try to eat at a different place around here because this one is definitely not good.

This place blew my mind! Dinner here was one of the best meals Ive eaten in San Diego since moving here 2 months ago, and Ive eaten at a lot of restaurants. Our server, Trang, was so friendly and helpful, and she told us about the background of the restaurant and recommended dishes. We started with the bánh bèo (savory steamed rice cakes), then got the beef noodle salad and roasted duck soup with egg noodle. Everything was PHENOMENAL. The restaurant is 100% vegan, all meats are made in-house (mostly from tofu), and many of the dishes are sweetened with fruit (e.g. apple and lychee) instead of processed sugar. My husband and I were so happy with our meal and we will be back soon - we want to try everything on the menu!
Tyne Coffee Co.
1444 Pioneer Way #6, El Cajon, CA 92020, United States
We ordered breakfast for delivery on Grubhub and the experience was wonderful. Today I wanted to save money so I chose Chainline Brew Cafe fot its reasonable prices and unique menu. I am a vegetarian and unfortunately the app offered a vegetarian breakfast option but required me to order meat. I did this but left a no meat message in the special instructions section. Well, imagine my surprise when a pleasant sounding woman called for clarification on our order! What service! When the order was delivered (in a timely manner) the food exceeded our expectations. My husband could barely finish half of his huge grilled cheese with bacon sandwich. My veggie breakfast sandwich was fresh and tasty. What a great way to start the day.!

Taco express
773 Greenfield Dr, El Cajon, CA 92021, United States
I am a GH driver so I go to many hole in the wall places all over the county but the East County in my main patrol. Ive been to Taco Express twice for deliveries and saw that the place was packed with customers. While waiting for my pick-up I could see that their menu had more than tacos, nachos and burritos but authentic Mexican food.So today on my day off I took my woman there for lunch and the place did not disappoint! I hadthe albondiga soup and she had a carne asada quesadilla. I havent had such good albondiga soup (meatball soup) at a restaurant in years! She, who always orders a carne asada quesadilla, loved theirs.
Aztec Food Hub
6334 El Cajon Blvd, San Diego, CA 92115, United States
Ive ordered from the Aztec Hub before, but this review is specially for Gorilla Eats Sushi! How did I not know this existed before tonight? Ive missed sushi like crazy since I went vegetarian and the few places I know that make a good array of plant-based options close early. I needed a late-night sushi fix and randomly found Gorilla Eats Sushi on Google, so I got the dragon roll and it was absolutely delish. My boyfriend is also vegetarian and my mom is vegan so Im planning on ordering for them as well in the very near future (like...tomorrow. Im probably ordering more tomorrow.). Cant wait to try the rest of the menu out. Id upload a picture because the presentation was also great but I have to admit that I basically inhaled my entire order as soon as I got home.
Addis Resturant

If your wanting the cleanest tasting injera in San Diego that isnt loaded in canola oil then keep reading…this place is clean. Ample seating. Staff is attentive yet they let you eat in peace. Food is soooo tasty. 4th time here. The portion size is great. Roughly $17 for the veggie platter. Flavors are sooo rich. Bathroom is clean and parking is out back or on the street. Did I mention, the feeling of eating with your hands and licking the seasoning off your fingers taste sooo good (given that you have washed your hands?). Overall, love this place hence why I keep finding my car in the parking lot.
Grandpa Tao Kitchen
1190 N 2nd St, El Cajon, CA 92021, United States
Went tried out this place it was new to us and wanted something near by and with some variety in dishes. We arrived and we were immediately seated. They brought out waters and menus. We ordered and one from our party was still deciding but the waiter took the menu from them anyway. And we had to go get it back. The food started to come out one by one we had a large party it was understandable. Once we got the food the waiter forgot our drinks so we continued to wait. I asked for another glass of water and to please bring the tea. He bring the pitcher of water and asked for my cup I said I dont have one, he replied in a loud and annoyed tone that I should have told him that as he walked off. My son found a hair in his pho. The pho was really bland. We have enjoyed pho before at different restaurants we know the taste varies but this has no flavor. I talked to the woman in the front and she said she wouldnt charge us for the soup with the hair. I didnt complain about the bland food we just wanted to leave quickly. The woman apologized and that was enough. I wouldnt go back to this restaurant. My entire family got sick we were throwing up as soon as we got home. This was our experience. It just didnt work out
Gnarly Girl Pizza
2302 El Cajon Blvd, San Diego, CA 92104, United States
Great food! Great value! Great drink selection!I wanted to try something a bit different, so my sister and I got the BBQ chicken pizza, and then tk be extra decadent, we got it with the garlic knot crust. When the pizza came out.to us you could SMELL the garlic, and the people next to us were just audibly jealous of our crust induced hedonism. Hands down was the best chicken pizza Ive had land Ive had some pretty great Thai chicken pizza). The zeppoli were also a great treat! They.came out tasting almost like a freshly fried donut, and the blueberry flavored cider was jist an extra treat on top of everything else. Cant wait to try their grilled cheese and tomato soup flavored pizza - our neighbors had that and they really enjoyed it!
